April 11th – 17th, 2022

The astrology for this week of April 11th through the 17th of 2022 ramps up the Pisces energy and can have us wandering blithely through an idyllic rendering of life on earth OR could have us back to handwringing and drenched by the heavy rains of feverish emotions.

We begin the week with our last year’s nemesis of the Saturn Uranus square. We are still doing the dance between old and new, although often feeling more like we’re engaged in a mixed martial arts tag team.

The sense of a worn-out playbook that might have worked in years past may be getting more than tiresome and is unlikely to have the same pull that it was liable to have when the plays were first used.

Like a bad horror movie that we have seen more than once, the various horsemen of the apocalypse can only scare most of us up to a point before it gets old and ineffective. Threats of nuclear war have been trotted out over the past 50+ years, perhaps best imaged in the political television ad “Daisy” back in 1964 with the Lyndon B. Johnson campaign warning Americans of the Goldwater candidacy:

Perhaps the best antidote to the images and commentary presented to us would be to step away and focus on our personal realm where we have a direct impact on our actions and our attitudes. Making our own world a sanctuary where we engage our creative abilities, explore our latent talents, express love and appreciate all our multitude of blessings may have far greater effect than falling into a negative spin about the state of the world. Our choice of attitude can be like a pebble in a pond sending out ripple effects either of happiness and kindness or fear and despair. Our choice, always our choice.

Personally, I choose happiness and kindness and being a friend to all.

While our emotions are heightened this week, there is no need for us to be in a catatonic state. By focusing on our own creations, we can blend foresight with practical application, visualization with manifestation, and could prove highly productive and effective in all that we do.

We have a major Sign change toward the latter part of the week as Mars exits Aquarius and enters Pisces. The Pisces Stellium is reinforced with Mars joining Venus, Jupiter and Neptune in the Mutable Water Sign.

Not only can springtime rains bring torrents with the liability of flash floods, but storm systems can shake us to our boots.

Some of the storm systems may also be emotional outbursts with people losing it. We have to admit that a lot of people are on their last nerve. And is it surprising? From the constant bombardment of curveballs over the past two years and ratcheted up recently, most people are on overwhelm. Add to it those people who had been living in a la-la-land where problems, if any, were easily solved and they lived in the land of entitlement where they expected that everything would go their way. Character building that often comes with adverse situations and intense challenges has been lost, and many folks have gotten flabby and fragile to any stress point.

It will be important that we keep a rein on our moods and emotions. Otherwise, we can find ourselves on a slippery slope towards victimhood and a sense of being only pawns in the power masters’ grand game of chess.

The weekend gives us the Libra Full Moon. We may realize that we are not ‘islands unto ourselves’ but rather dependent upon the company of those special people in our life. We might better value the love and friendship we have in our life.

The weekend ends with Christianity’s Easter, a celebration of resurrection, symbolic of our own personal resurrection and ascension in consciousness. Happy Easter. Happy Ascension.

Monday, April 11th – They’re Back – Sun, Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Saturn. Monday begins the week with the Moon in Leo and the Moon today trine the Sun and the Moon triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Uranus and the Moon opposes Saturn. Although we might feel a thrust of energy to express our creative abilities and get our springtime projects going, various impediments could get in our way. Either we don’t have the necessary tools handy, or the costs are far greater than what we had budgeted for, or our conceptualizations were great but left out necessary details [akin to the Getty Museum with its lack of bathroom facilities, or Boston’s John Hancock Tower which initially had the glass windows popping out, et al.]. Whatever the issue might be, we are liable to feel irritated and aggravated. This is a day for us to maintain an attitude of bemusement at the dysfunctions of these times and at our own miscues. It would be wise for us to step away from any frustrating situation, give things time to right themselves, and seek out alternatives that might be more fulfilling and more fun. Blockages and challenges can be obstacles, but they don’t have to be insurmountable.

Tuesday, April 12th – Higher Realms – Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Jupiter, Neptune, Sun, Saturn. Tuesday begins with the Leo Moon opposed Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost four hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before the Moon enters Virgo where the Virgo Moon trines Mercury later in the day. Jupiter conjuncts Neptune, and the Sun sextiles Saturn. During this paradigm shift when things can be disruptive, tumultuous and unfolding in most inexplicable ways, we need to be certain not to get in our own way. Arrogance and narcissism are not only deadly sins but could prove lethal during this transformation from linear, sequential reality into asequential reality where things often happen with what seems as though no rhyme or reason. Today is an either / or day when out of sheer frustration we might escape into indulgence and excess or we could draw upon our faith, elevate our consciousness, and recognize that things are working out in their own accord, whether or not we appreciate the process or the trajectories. If we would draw upon our optimism, confidence and belief that we have our own personal destiny, we can contemplate our future plans, develop a strategic means of realizing our goals, all with an understanding that things may unfold in twists and turns and not necessarily in a straight line projection. More so than ever, now is the time for us to employ flexibility and adaptability and to acknowledge the wise Taoist affirmation: ‘bend like a reed or break like an oak’.

Wednesday, April 13th – Smarter Not Harder – Venus, Uranus. The Virgo Moon starts this Wednesday with the Moon opposed Venus. The Moon later trines Uranus. If we let go of being critical of our own efforts and those of other people, then we could open our eyes to possibilities that we were not even aware of. This is a day for us to neither micromanage nor get lost in illusions but rather to be open to options and alternatives that we had not previously considered. Our sensitivity may be ratcheted up severalfold, but we have to avoid being led by our emotions. Due diligence is called for today and with our being open to unexpected developments that can streamline our operations or allow for startling time management techniques. We can accomplish a great deal on our ‘to do’ list if we keep focused on what we need to do without overly considering the pros and cons of our activities. As the Nike commercial branding suggests, this is a day for us to ‘Just Do It’. This day could provide a good snapshot of the paradigm shift where earlier in the day we stress and struggle to do what needs to be done, while later things can be accomplished in an effective and streamlined manner. In deed, we could operate smarter not harder today.

Thursday, April 14th – Here Comes the Rain Again – Neptune, Jupiter, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars Pisces. Thursday continues with the Virgo Moon with the Moon opposed both Neptune and Jupiter both in Pisces, and the Moon trine Pluto. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for two and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon enters Libra. Mars exits Aquarius to enter Pisces [11:06 PM EDT] adding to the Pisces Stellium as Mars joins Venus, Neptune and Jupiter in the Mutable Water Sign. Perceptions of reality and visions of potentials may clash today. Either we can soar with the eagles to heights unknown on our faith and a belief in better days ahead, or we could plummet to fathomless depths of despair and an assumption that Armageddon is upon us. The liability of extreme emotions with volatile mood swings might be increased, and we have to be certain that we read between the lines, look beyond the images of presentation, and utilize sharp discernment to comprehend what may really be going on. We are entering a period when illusions and delusions seem rampant with a desire through images, hype and presentation to steer our attitudes and our actions by playing to our emotions. With so much Water impacting us through early May, we might be more receptive, even reactive, rather than discriminating and proactive. This phase could also be a time when atmospheric storm systems are intense with heavy precipitation and flash floods. Sailors beware, for boating accidents and mishaps out on the water are likely to increase.

Friday, April 15th – What is it Good for. Friday has the Moon in Libra, but with the Moon making no connections to the planets today. This day is also Good Friday in Christianity’s world, and Passover begins at sundown for the Jewish faith. In times past when religious faith played a larger part in our social norms, many governmental and commercial entities would close on this Friday. Not any longer, as we are living in a more secularized time, a time when much of the mystery and magic beyond perceived reality has been apparently lost. Nonetheless, the energy for this Friday suggests a toning down of the frantic pace we often get caught up in. Allowing ourselves to gather with a good friend or colleague might be the best use of this day. We could consider this Friday to be a ‘mental health’ day, a time for us to step off the track and enjoy the many blessings and good things in our life. Slowing things down would provide us the time to reflect and contemplate on what we are doing, how we are doing, and the balance between our personal world and the backdrop of what is occurring in the world-at-large. While we are not ‘islands unto ourselves’, neither do we have to get caught up in the frenzy of society. By our own initiative and our individual commitment, we can create personal sanctuaries for ourselves, which like a pebble in a pond sends out ripples of peace, harmony and serenity to help offset the craziness apparent in the larger realm of society. Good Friday in Christianity commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus. This Friday allows each of us to reflect on our own crucifixions over the past few years, times when our lives may have dramatically changed, for each and every one of us has gone through transitions and possibly major transformations in who we are and what we are doing with our life.

Saturday, April 16th – Balancing Point – Saturn, Libra Full Moon, Sun, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars. Saturday has the Libra Moon trine Saturn, the Libra Full Moon [2:55 PM EDT] as the Moon opposes the Sun, and the Moon square Pluto before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for two and a half hours as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra without making any further connections to the planets and before the Moon moves into Scorpio where late today the Scorpio Moon trines Mars. This is a day when we need to balance our personal interests with those of someone else. Collaboration is often far more fun and effective than just going it alone. We could discover that someone provides important insight or assistance to our plans. Although we may have errands to run or commitments to honor, we might far prefer negating our obligations in search of good times with a good friend. Why do today what we can put off until tomorrow is liable to be enticing and our chosen course of action. We just have to avoid trying to do too much or pushing the envelope. No matter how much racing around we do during the day, the evening hours can have us whittling down to a select and passionate engagement. From the many to the one.

Sunday, April 17th – Risen – Mercury, Venus, Uranus. Sunday has the Scorpio Moon trine Venus and the Moon opposed both Mercury and Uranus. Mercury sextiles Venus. This Sunday is Easter Sunday in Christianity, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Easter also ties in astrologically with the Vernal Equinox with its beginning of the astrological new year and the start of the spring season with its promise of renewal, rebirth, renaissance — resurrection. The energies today offer us the opportunity of looking beyond the appearance. No longer do we have to be dazzled by the bright and sparkly. Nor do we have to be despondent over projected realities. We can look below the surface and beyond the veneer to see what is truly going on. Communications can be deep and heart felt today. Even while we enjoy our Sunday dinner, munch the ears off our chocolate rabbit, we have the opportunity to both appreciate those special people in our life and our individual journey through this life path with our own personal destiny. Our spiritual nature may be engaged, but it would be wise for us to respect each person’s individual karma. As the proverb from many cultures affirms: “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for his lifetime.” No matter our religious or philosophical beliefs, this is a day when we can celebrate our own transformations and the reality of our consciousness risen — pebbles in a pond.
