April 29th – May 5th, 2024

The astrology for this week of April 29th through May 5th of 2024 is a high energy week with two Sign changes and Pluto turning retrograde, all leading up to a pleasant weekend celebrating Cinco de Mayo and Orthodox Christian Easter.

The week begins with Venus exiting Aries, a Sign of Detriment for Venus, and Venus entering Taurus, a Sign that Venus rules.  The Sign change of Venus is followed by Mars exiting Pisces to enter Aries, a Sign that Mars rules.  Both Venus and Mars are now on the right track, more in synch with their individual optimum expression.

If our relationships have suffered and our physical energy has been flagging, there can be a positive pickup in both areas with these Sign changes.

An intense hit could occur mid-week as Pluto first turns stationary and then retrogrades.  Explosive actions may threaten our stability and our sense of security, but once we adjust to the dramatic shifts happening this week, we can be full speed ahead, determined to accomplish our plans.

The weekend may be a time for us to catch our breath, enjoy the fruits of our labors, and relax before starting new projects and engaging grand adventures.  We may have to get out of our own way to benefit from the wealth of exciting opportunities.

We end the week with Cinco de Mayo and Orthodox Christian Easter.  There is much for us to celebrate, and we might find ourselves energized and pumped to get on with our springtime activities.  Life is good.

Monday, April 29th – Soft and Lovely – Saturn, Mercury, Uranus, Mars, Neptune, Venus Taurus.  Monday starts the week with the Moon in Capricorn with the Capricorn Moon today sextile Saturn, the Moon square Mercury, and the Moon trine Uranus.  Mars conjuncts Neptune, and Venus exits Aries to enter its own Sign of Taurus [7:31 AM EDT].  We can accomplish a great deal on this Monday, although our responsibilities might impinge upon our doing our own thing the way that we want to do it.  This is a day for us to hew to normal procedures and not get ahead of ourselves or become too self-absorbed.  Often, there are better ways than the ways we would choose to proceed.  Water issues might be highlighted today with intense precipitation during storm systems, leaks and plumbing problems, and boating difficulties with liable naval incidents.  The highlight for this day is Venus coming into own Sign of Taurus [7:31 AM EDT] and out from a Sign of its Detriment, Aries.  Relationships can improve, be more collaborative, less self-involved, and interested in finding balance between our personal interests and those of another person.  People might take an appreciable attentiveness to their personal appearance, style, and decorum.

Tuesday, April 30th – Finishing Up then Beginning – Jupiter, Neptune, Mars, Venus, Pluto, Mars Aries.  Tuesday begins with the Capricorn Moon trine Jupiter, and the Moon sextile both Neptune and Mars both in Pisces.  The Moon then exits Capricorn to enter Aquarius where today the Aquarius Moon squares Venus and the Moon conjuncts Pluto.  Mars exits Pisces to enter its own Sign of Aries [11:33 AM EDT].  Tuesday allows us to bring completion to certain matters, rid ourselves of the extraneous, and prepare ourselves for a new thrust of energy, greater physical energy, and a determination to put our personal mark upon things.  This is a day for us to finish things up before engaging new projects. Like a racehorse out of the starting gate, we may be gung-ho to get on with things and advance our personal interests.  With the greater influence of Pluto over the next few days, it would be suggested that we apply brakes every now and then to avoid rushing headlong ahead without necessary restraints to our impetuousness.  If our physical energy has been flagging over the past four weeks, we could get a second wind.  We just need to modulate any increased physical energy, not go overboard with anything, and take momentary stops to evaluate and re-evaluate what we are doing.

Wednesday, May 1st – Undercurrents of Springtime – Sun, Mercury, Venus, Pluto.  Wednesday continues with the Aquarius Moon with the Moon today square the Sun early in the day, and the Moon sextile Mercury later in the day.  Venus squares Pluto.  Today is May Day and Beltane, the celebration of fertility and springtime.  Although we might prefer to be out and about, sampling this, sampling that by engaging the sentiment that ‘variety is the spice of life’, our responsibilities and obligations could curtail our free spirit and demand that we adhere to routine matters.  If we would take care of what needs to get done early in the day, the latter part of the day may allow for free time when we can explore and investigate possibilities.  Pluto is stationing, turning retrograde tomorrow.  Things percolating below the surface can rise to the fore dramatically.  People might be on edge, especially if they feel curtailed from what they want to do.  This day calls for extreme patience since someone could easily pop off with sudden and over-the-top belligerence.  If we believe that we don’t have the resources to accomplish our interests, it would be wise for us to wait for better times to proceed with our pursuits.  These next three days suggest the use of extreme caution, for the energy might prove for some as too hot to handle.

Thursday, May 2nd – Explosive Matters – Uranus, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Pluto retrograde.  Thursday has the Moon finishing its transit of Aquarius with the Aquarius Moon today square both Uranus and Jupiter both in Taurus before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for nine and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces where late today the Pisces Moon sextiles Venus.  Pluto turns retrograde [1:46 PM EDT].  Things may not go according to schedule today.  Unexpected developments and unanticipated costs can drive a wedge into our planned activities.  If we are reliant on someone else today, we might be sorely disappointed by their lack of due diligence.  This day demands extreme caution and patience.  Things could prove explosive.  Even the most inconsequential matter might blow up in our face.  Whenever Pluto turns direction, there are liabilities of people acting out, violent behavior, bomb blasts, explosions, dramatic weather events, and geophysical phenomena.  Pluto changing direction ratchets up the intensity and suggests putting things on hold until the storm passes.

Friday, May 3rd – Assertive Actions – Sun, Saturn, Mars, Pluto.  Friday has the Pisces Moon sextile Sun and the Moon conjunct Saturn.  Mars sextiles Pluto.  We could accomplish a great amount on this Friday.  We may seem driven to bring the week to closure with a mad dash.  Fortunately, we are guided to take care of the specifics and attend to the details.  Nothing needs to fall between the cracks today.  We can cover all bases and then some.  Our drive might be indefatigable.  We just need to focus on what we wish to achieve, have our course of action in mind, then unleash our assertive energy.  This is one of those days when we can realize the sentiment of Napoleon Hill: “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”  We do need to avoid overdoing, for if we push ourselves too hard, we could wind up at the end of the day physically exhausted and emotionally spent.

Saturday, May 4th – Magical Daze – Uranus, Jupiter, Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course, Pluto, Mars.  Saturday has the Moon finishing its transit of Pisces with the Pisces Moon sextile both Uranus and Jupiter both in Taurus, and the Moon conjunct Neptune.  The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for an hour and a half with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Pisces and before the Moon enters Aries where today the Aries Moon sextiles Pluto and the Moon trines Mars.  Not only do we have the Moon ending its monthly transit through the Zodiac and beginning a new monthly transit.  We also have the three transcendental planets of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto all engaged.  Magic is in the air, and what we decide to do under this influence is our choice, always our choice.  I would suggest that we use today’s energies to eliminate the dross of our lives that holds us back, slows us down and are mere distractions from our concentrating on our greatest dreams.  We can both discard the superfluous in our lives and draw upon streamlined means to accomplish our goals.  As the energy shifts with the Moon’s move from Pisces into Aries, we could be full speed ahead in whatever direction and itinerary we have in mind.  This is a day to acknowledge and witness the mystery of these times of paradigm shift.  We needn’t be merely reactive to life but rather serve as co-creators with the natural unfolding occurring in our lives.  Let’s consider our options as we forge ahead with the realization that these volatile, even scary, times could also prove to be the best of our times.

Sunday, May 5th – Time Out.  Sunday has the Moon continuing its transit of Aries but without making any connections to the planets today.  Yesterday might have felt like we were on a magic carpet ride with various exciting and unexpected incidents that we might have either experience or witnessed.  After a rather extraordinary day yesterday, today is a day for a ‘time out’.  And why not when today has two different celebrations going on?  Today celebrates Cinco de Mayo for many, whether of Mexican heritage or not, and the holy day of Easter for Orthodox Christians.  This is a day for us to acknowledge even the slightest victories in our own lives and recognize that in our darkest moments the light is born.  We can get together with family and friends and primarily enjoy ourselves today.  Although there is not a great deal of energy today and consequently nothing really impelling us to get things done, we might choose to do whatever catches our fancy, all with the idea of stepping off the track of our regular routine and engaging festivities.  Every now and then we need to take a break from our daily grind and savor the uplifting moments in our lives.  Today is a day to celebrate all the blessings that our lives offer us.
