February 12th – 18th, 2024

The astrology for this week of February 12th through the 18th of 2024 highlights celebrations, passionate feelings, and Sign changes with us liable to party on through the work week only to hit some bumps in the road over the weekend.

The week begins with many of us suffering hangovers from Super Bowl Sunday the night before.  We might be groggy but also anxious to discuss the ‘big game’, the halftime show, and the multi-million dollars commercials played during the event.

While we start the week slowly with many people opting for a ‘ME’ day and postponing their responsibilities, we soon get a second wind, feeling as if we are the conquering champions looking to advance our own personal goals.

Th Stellium of three planets in the Fixed Air Sign is reenforced this week, first by Mars entering Aquarius, followed by Venus entering Aquarius, diminished late on the weekend as the Sun exits Aquarius to enter Pisces.

The future is NOW as we are more likely focused on what is ahead of us rather than behind us or even our present situation.

Nothing may be done in half measure this week with the passion and intensity ratcheted up.  We just need to avoid banging and crashing about and a tendency to do our own thing whether in accord with standards and measures or in a free-spirited rage against customs.

The often-cited godfather of rap, Gil Scott-Heron, pronounced in the early 1970’s “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised”.  The prescient truth to that proclamation can be seen in the lack of coverage of the peoples’ protests occurring around the world.  Although covered by alternative media, the following events have gotten little coverage by legacy media:

  • Peoples’ street protests against the vaccine mandates and protocols
  • Farmers’ protests in European nations, including France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Italy, Greece, Romania
  • Truckers’ convoy protests in Canada and the US
  • Populist election victories in Italy, Slovakia, Hungary, Finland, India, the Netherlands, and Argentina

The push-pull between conflicting interests of globalism and populism seems a key characteristic of these times, a characteristic seen in the astrological movement of Pluto between Capricorn and Aquarius.  Increasingly, the Aquarius influence will hold sway, especially once Pluto completes its final days of Capricorn transit in the autumn.

Pluto in Aquarius last occurred late in the 18th Century, a time concurrent with both the American and French Revolutions and a prelude then to the Industrial Revolution.  For us in this present time, we might experience ever more people taking to the streets and indications of the next significant revolution, the Technological Revolution.

The revolution may not be televised, but surely it will be lived.

Monday, February 12th – Oh, What a Night – Neptune, Mars, Pluto.  Monday begins this week with the Moon completing its transit of Pisces with the Pisces Moon conjunct Neptune, and the Moon sextile Mars.  The Moon then moves into Aries where today the Aries Moon sextiles Pluto.  Whether we partied with the rest of the folk yesterday on Super Bowl Sunday and engaged the game, the festivities, and the social gatherings, or just sat it out, Monday could have us feeling depleted briefly before we gain a second wind.  The adrenaline rush from yesterday’s activities can have us wanting to share our views, our interests, and our chatter with anyone and everyone.  While focusing on what occurred could be a distraction, it may also allow us to connect with other people.  Even if we supported a different team or had no interest in the game itself, everyone can be on the same page in kibbitzing about Super Bowl Sunday.   Pisces is the last Sign of the Zodiac wheel, and today has the Moon moving out of Pisces into Aries.  Suddenly, we might feel as though it is time to launch forward with our plans, our future goals, and those projects that reflect our autonomy and our personal identity.  Increasingly, freedom from restrictions and focus on individuality are likely to be on our mind and in our intentions.

Tuesday, February 13th – Fattening the Calf – Mercury, Venus, Neptune, Mars Aquarius.  Tuesday celebrates Mardi Gras [Fat Tuesday], and this Tuesday has the Aries Moon sextile Mercury.  Venus sextiles Neptune, and Mars exits Capricorn to enter Aquarius [1:05 AM EST] with Mars enhancing the Aquarius Stellium as Mars joins the Sun, Mercury, and Pluto in the Fixed Air Sign.  Even if we are not in New Orleans for the Mardi Gras celebrations, today is a day when our activities all revolve what we want and what we want to do with an eye on future engagements.  Coming off last weekend’s Super Bowl weekend, Tuesday with Mardi Gras and tomorrow with Valentine’s Day suggest we ‘let the good times roll’.  Work and responsibilities in the early part of this week may take a back seat to social engagements, good times, and enjoying the abundance of life and living.  With the increased emphasis upon the Aquarius energy, we might be more interested in what could be rather than what is.  Consequently, these days, amidst our indulgences, would be a good time for planning, strategizing, and developing our next steps into our future.  Let’s not be too surprised if we see incidents of people raging against the machine.  It would be wise for us to keep in mind the image and analogy of constructing a suspension bridge slat by slat to get from where we have been to where we choose to go, all with an appreciation that there might be times when we go back before we move forward, cross the chasm between here and there, and ultimately cut the ties that bind as we enter the landscape of our new lives.

Wednesday, February 14th – No Massacres Please – Sun, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Pluto, Mars, Saturn.  Wednesday is Valentine’s Day, but this day could prove one highly passionate, intense day, perhaps even downright explosive.  The day begins with the Aries Moon sextile the Sun and the Moon square Venus.  The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over four and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Aries and before the Moon enters Taurus where today the Taurus Moon squares both Pluto and Mars both in Aquarius eariy in the day, and the Moon sextiles Saturn to end the day.  Mars conjuncts Pluto.  This Wednesday, despite it being Valentine’s Day, could be one intense, explosive day.  If we are engaging Valentine’s Day’s rituals, let’s keep them light and fun, and not overly passionate or intense.  We need to be wary today of physical violence, people acting out, even terrorist assaults occurring under this explosive energy.  Heightened atmospheric storm systems and geophysical activity can be evident.  For us as individuals, this is a day for us to cool our jets, not allow the intense energy to get the better of us and try to maintain a calm attitude without allowing any provocation to trigger an angry, explosive release.  This day might prove too hot to handle unless we stay out of harm’s way and find healthy steam vents to release the energy.

Thursday, February 15th – Come Together – Jupiter, Mercury, Uranus. Thursday continues with the Taurus Moon with the Moon conjunct Jupiter to begin the day, the Moon conjunct Uranus to end the day, and Moon square Mercury in between.  We might still be feeling the heat and intensity of yesterday, but this Thursday allows things to come together, if we don’t get in our own way.  A ‘can do’ attitude might be ours as we feel more confident about proceeding with what we wish to accomplish.  Even if yesterday proved explosive, we can pick up the pieces today, put things back in order and move forward with determination and optimism.  We do need to avoid suggestions or advice from other people, no matter how meaningful they may be.  This is a day for us to listen to the muses and be open to the power of intention.  We might not know the means of achievement when we start out, but things can unfold as we proceed.  Every journey begins with the first step, and so it is with projects.  Once begun, various activities often have a life of their own and develop in their own particular manner.  During this paradigm shift through which we are going, it is essential that we try not to overly control how things are to evolve.  Humility is called for if we are to get the very best out of a situation.  Even if we muck things up in the process, the end of the day could provide us an ‘ah-ha’ moment when we realize how almost magically things can fall neatly into place.  During these times, we do not have to do it all, but we do need to be mindful and alert and willing to alter and adjust as conditions warrant.

Friday, February 16th – World of Lofty Possibilities – Neptune, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Pluto, Mars, Mercury, Uranus, Venus Aquarius.  Friday begins with the Moon finishing its transit of Taurus with the Taurus Moon sextile Neptune and the Moon square the Sun early in the day.  The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for four and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Taurus and before the Moon enters Gemini, where today the Gemini Moon trines Pluto, Mars and Venus with Venus just having ended its transit of Capricorn and entered Aquarius [11:05 AM EST].  Mercury squares Uranus.  No matter how much we feel we must get done, this Friday is more likely spent in considering and discussing lofty ideas of what could be.  We are more attuned to our future than involved with our present reality.  Getting together with supportive people can add fuel to the fire of our plans and intentions.  Nothing is impossible, and so we might see our world ahead as nothing but an easy walk through the park.  No Debbie Downers or Eeyores for us today, not when we are floating on a wide world of prospects easily accomplished in concept.  The entry of Venus into Aquarius increases the power of the Aquarius Stellium as Venus joins Pluto, Mars, Mercury, and the Sun in the Fixed Air Sign, a Stellium slightly diminished late Sunday when the Sun exits Aquarius to enter Pisces.   The Mercury square Uranus aspect affecting today and tomorrow is my least favorite energy for travel and especially air travel.  Unexpected developments can trip us up.  The energy of this configuration abets miscommunications, misunderstandings, and misdirection with consequent negative effects to travel, discussions, computer issues, Internet problems and other liable mix-ups.  This day suggests we enjoy entertaining possibilities, but not get carried away into an ethereal realm.

Saturday, February 17th – On the Same Page – Saturn, Venus, Pluto.  Saturday continues with the Gemini Moon with the Moon today square Saturn.  Venus conjuncts Pluto.  After a high energy day yesterday, Saturday might have us feeling like the air has been let out of the balloon.  No matter how taken we were with possibilities yesterday, even the impossible being possible, Saturday could have us starting the day with a thud. We need to avoid any depressing thoughts and keep in mind the saying that “the higher the rise, the harder the fall.”  If we ended Friday night on a sour note, we could be feeling vulnerable and a little testy.  Relationships might be dicey with our attitude being one of ‘either you’re for me or against me’ with no variation in between.  This Saturday might be best served taking things down a notch or two, getting out into nature or escaping into a good book or a movie.  We may have expended a great deal of energy yesterday, and this Saturday might have us catching our breath, relaxing, and taking everything slowly.  Let’s not overanalyze any kerfuffles that might have occurred but see them as water over the dam.  We don’t always have to be ‘on’, going a mile a minute, and this Saturday suggests we take the day to recharge and reinvigorate and not push ourselves to do anything.

Sunday, February 18th – Back Up and Running – Mercury, Neptune, Sun, Sun Pisces.  Sunday continues with the Gemini Moon with the Moon today trine Mercury early in the morning and the Moon trine the Sun late in the day, and the Moon square Neptune in between the two.  To end the day the Moon exits Gemini to enter Cancer, and the Sun exits Aquarius to enter Pisces [11:13 PM EST], slightly diminishing the Aquarius Stellium.  If we used yesterday to take it easy and didn’t fall down in the dumps, this Sunday gets our energy back up with a desire to add some flavor to our day.  They say that ‘variety is the spice of life’, and we might engage that attitude by seeking interesting activities for us to participate in.  We could put the brakes on involvements as we consider the costs involved, but it would be wise for us to stretch and allow ourselves to enjoy ourselves.  The volatility of these times is incredibly stressful.  We have been through many challenges over the past few years, and we do need occasional reprieves from the pressures and tensions of these times.  This Sunday is a day for us to do whatever catches our fancy, although keeping our financial budget in mind, with an appreciation of the suggestion that ‘the best things in life are free’.
