February 28th – March 6th, 2022

The astrology for this week of February 28th through the 6th of March 2022 gives us the impulse that change is in the air.

During the paradigm shift in which we find ourselves, conditions and circumstance can be disruptive, even tumultuous. Although highly exciting, there may be times when things change dramatically in a nanosecond with little, if any, advance notification to the change. We are transitioning from a linear, sequential reality into asequential reality where things occur in a most seemingly random and happenstance manner.

The week begins with us on the ‘dark side’ of the Moon prior to Wednesday’s New Moon. We also begin the week with our nemesis from last year, the Saturn Uranus square.

Push pulls between old and new, between regulations and freedoms, between authoritarian compliance and individual liberty, are likely. We have seen this jousting operating last year and recently this year with indications in Canada between protests and Emergencies Act imposed, in the US between School Boards and Parents, and in Europe between Russia and the Ukraine.

We may feel in our own individual lives this push pull between old and new, where much of the template we drew upon in the past no longer works for our present, much less our future. Change, dramatic, and whether explosive or subtle, is a major element of our world now.

The New Moon on Wednesday allows us to put our house in order, bring closure to the events of the past twelve months, as it casts its influence on the next two weeks up to the Full Moon on the 18th just prior to the end of the winter season and the beginning of the new astrological year with the Spring Equinox on the 20th when he Sun exits Pisces to begin its new annual journey with the Sun entering Aries.

The mid-week period gives us the impetus to deal with what needs to get done. We have the two Stelliums, powerpacks, in Capricorn and Pisces, and we could feel guided towards completions and resolutions. We might focus on our goals but always with a keen eye as to the details involved. Drawing upon a visionary sense with practical application can give the latter part of the week a turbo-charged effectiveness that allows us to accomplish a great deal. Instinctively, we may recognize the need to clean up and clear out the debris of the past in order for us to enter our spring season with a cleaner slate and the ability to engage new projects, new involvements, all reflective of our own new sense of self.

Sensing the beginning of the forthcoming spring season with its promise of rebirth, renewal and new beginnings, change is in the air this week punctuated over the weekend with an ending of the Capricorn Stellium and a triggering of an Aquarius Stellium. Late Saturday, early Sunday both Venus and Mars exit Capricorn to enter Aquarius, triggering a Fixed Air Sign Stellium as Venus and Mars join Mercury and Saturn in Aquarius.

We now have two Stelliums, both in the most universal of the Zodiac Signs, Aquarius and Pisces. Restrictions and regulations enforced by the powers-that-be over the past two years when there was a major influence of the Capricorn-transiting planets may give way to increased expression of individual liberties and personal freedoms.

To borrow from the lyrics of the 1984 classic song from Twisted Sister:

”We’re not gonna take it
Oh no, we ain’t gonna take it
We’re not gonna take it anymore

We’ve got the right to choose it
There ain’t no way we’ll lose it
This is our life, this is our song

We’ll fight the powers that be just
Don’t pick our destiny ’cause
You don’t know us, you don’t belong

We’re not gonna take it
Oh no, we ain’t gonna take it
We’re not gonna take it anymore”

And so on.

Monday, February 28th – Back and Forth – Uranus, Mercury, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course. Monday begins the week with the Aquarius Moon conjunct Mercury, and the Moon triggering our last year’s nemesis of the Saturn Uranus square with the Moon early in the day square Uranus and the Moon conjunct Saturn late in the day. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost nineteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces later on Tuesday. We are also on the ‘dark side’ of the Moon prior to Wednesday’s New Moon. Whatever we have scheduled for this Monday, things could go awry. Unexpected situations may disrupt our plans with increased costs unanticipated. Let’s not get thrown for a loop by any surprising developments. We have had the basic training in duck, dodge, dive over the past two years as life has gone through some very bizarre twists and turns. Thinking back three years ago, life in retrospect might have seemed almost idyllic. More recently, we seem to have entered Crazy town where what’s up is down and down is up and everything often turned around. This reality might have been reflected in recent events in Canada with draconian Emergencies Act implemented, only to be reversed two days later. For ourselves, we just have to be certain not to feel inextricably committed to one course of action when unfolding events indicate the necessity to change. We need to keep in mind two of the basic characteristics necessary for successfully navigating the currents in which we find ourselves: flexibility and adaptability.

Tuesday, Mach 1st – Fat Tuesday – Moon Void-of-Course. Tuesday is Mardi Gras, a carnival-like day of celebration with good food and drink and plenty of it. The Aquarius Moon continues to be Void-of-Course making no further connections to the planets before the Moon enters Pisces later in the day. The Pisces Moon makes no connections to the planets today. Whether we engage the Fat Tuesday traditions of Mardi Gras or not, the atmosphere is likely to be filled with music, a parade-like sense and the requisite pancakes, cakes, and beignets. Even if we try to get a lot done today, there is not much energy to do so. Getting together with friends, whether in person, over the phone, or by text, may be our best forms of relief and reinvigorating ourselves. We are still on the ‘dark side’ of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s New Moon, so we might prefer to see this day as a ‘time out’ and use this Tuesday to relax and recharge. Wednesday and Thursday can prove highly productive and effective days. This Tuesday is better served to enjoy ourselves but without the excess.

Wednesday, March 2nd – Do You Believe in Magic – Uranus, Pisces New Moon, Sun, Jupiter, Mercury, Saturn. Wednesday has the Pisces New Moon [12:35 PM EST] with the Moon conjunct the Sun, the Moon conjunct Jupiter and the Moon sextile Uranus. The Sun sextiles Uranus, and Mercury conjuncts Saturn. Wednesday may be one of those days replete with interesting surprises and a positive attitude making us believe in magic and that all things are possible. Not that we are likely to be airy-fairy in our disposition. The Mercury Saturn conjunction can help ground us. Brimming with confidence and optimistic about our prospects, we could focus on what is ahead of us and be less worried about what we have gone through. Even if over the past two years we have trudged forward with a waning hope of seeing light at the end of the tunnel, we are now able to see things brightening and a glaring light ahead of us. We might feel that the worst is behind us. Even if our elders, often long in age but short in wisdom, warn of impending disasters like the four horsemen of the apocalypse, warnings trumpeted by the media, many of us may choose to have none of it. We recognize the problems in the world, many of which are not so much of our making as generated by the powers-that-be, but we are far more interested in improving the world by doing our small bit in our personal realm to make the world a better place. With faith and the belief in our capabilities, this day and the New Moon’s influence on the two weeks ahead give us the impetus to advance our interests by drawing both upon our foresight and the means of advanced technologies. Although there may be the question ‘Do you believe in magic?’, we are likely to see evidence of magic in mini-miracles today and over the next fortnight. Today is a day to be open in order to receive the wonders and blessings in our doing life.

Thursday, March 3rd – All Out – Neptune, Pluto, Venus, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course. Given impetus by yesterday’s New Moon, the Pisces Moon today conjuncts Neptune, and the Moon sextiles the three Capricorn-transiting planets of Pluto, Venus and Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for three hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces and before the Moon enters Aries late in the day. Mars conjuncts Pluto, and Venus conjuncts Pluto. This is a day for major accomplishments. We can virtually move mountains. By devising a strategic approach and drawing upon unbridled faith, we have the energy, power, determination and perseverance to make things happen. This is a good day for us to tie up loose ends, bring matters to completion, and conclude issues that we do not want to bring into the spring season and the astrological new year. This is the last of the Capricorn Stellium that we have had the benefit of, but also been subjected to, over the past two years, a time when the power resided more in the ‘authorities’ than with the people. That power dynamic is about to change, and the power of the people is likely to be on the ascendant. We have seen initial sprouts of this phenomenon with Trudeau’s withdrawal of the Emergencies Act in Canada, the School Board Recall in San Francisco, and the various ‘trucker’ convoys and anti-mandate protests throughout the world. This is a day for us to go all out.

Friday, March 4th – Trying This, Trying That. The Aries Moon today makes no connections to the planets. While there is not a great deal of energy to get things done today, this day might have us sampling things, trying this, trying that, without any definite commitment to anything. We may have a surge of ‘spring fever’, more interested in what lies ahead than behind. We could be amping to get in gear but feel as though we are revving our energy while stuck in neutral. This would be a day to put our personal mark on any activities that interest us. If we have plans for the weekend, we might start our weekend early. It would be wise to avoid expectations for ourselves. Yesterday could have had us going all out, and we might have expended our energy with little to exert today. We can mark this day up to a ‘me’ day, a day when we do whatever we want without getting stressed about what we should do. The Protestant ethic runs deep in much of our society and one of the consequences is the old Christian saying: ‘idle hands are the devil’s workshop’. It’s time to give lie to such a theme, and this is a day for us to do so. Let’s just do whatever we please today without considering the benefits or the liabilities of being spontaneous, perhaps even being impulsive.

Saturday, March 5th – Enough Never Enough – Saturn, Mercury, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Jupiter. Saturday continues with the Aries Moon with the Moon today sextile both Saturn and Mercury both in Aquarius, and the Moon square Pluto late in the day. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for four hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aries and before the Moon enters Taurus early on Sunday morning. The Sun conjuncts Jupiter. The impetus of the Pisces New Moon this past Wednesday impels us to move forward with confidence and optimism, and this sense of disposition is ratcheted up on this Saturday. We may feel as though we have the wind to our back, and we can proceed with future plans without much difficulty. Unfortunately, in the process of looking forward, we might negate certain obligations needed to be met. If we don’t have tasks hanging over us, this Saturday would be a great day to enjoy the company of others, take off and get out of town, and spread our wings in utter delight of the blessings in our lives. Our spiritual character is enhanced. We may feel compassion for the plight of others, but if we are unable to do anything effective, then we would only fall into being maudlin and unproductive. We can certainly wring our hands, complain about all that is wrong in the world, and fall into a negative Eeyore mode. But what’s the point? On the contrary, it is far better for us to engage an upbeat attitude, have faith in the unfolding process, and recognize that things will develop according to their own rhythm and at their own pace.

Sunday, March 6th – Freedom – Mars, Venus, Mars Aquarius, Venus Aquarius. Sunday has a major shift in energy. The Capricorn Stellium ends, and an Aquarius Stellium is created. Mars exits Capricorn to enter Aquarius [1:23 AM EST], followed immediately by Venus exiting Capricorn to enter Aquarius [1:30 AM EST]. We now have four planets in the Fixed Air Sign – Venus, Mars, Mercury, Saturn. The Moon moves into Taurus where today the Moon squares both Mars and Venus now both in Aquarius. More so than ever, we may find the restrictions imposed upon the people by the powers-that-be are either voluntarily being removed or involuntarily slipping away. Increasingly, from now and into the spring season, people are likely to voice their independence and demand their freedom. For each of us, we are moving into a time when we may focus on our future goals, seek greater autonomy in everything we do, and are less averse to banging up against authorities. The recent Canada experience serves as an example. While the prime minister talked about a small fringe of radicals, Nazis, white supremacists and the like as making up the Freedom Convoy 2022, reality suggested something different. To put the screws to the protesters and to those who supported the protesters’ efforts, Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act, even to the point of the finance minister advocating for banks freezing the accounts of protesters and donors, doxing the donors, and threatening the confiscation of trucks involved, the cancellation of business licenses, and imposition of prohibitive fines. This Act worked for two days until the prime minister rescinded his order. One curious aspect of this incident was the questioning of the trust in the Canadian banking system. If people were threatened with having their bank accounts and financial assets frozen, could there be a run on the banks with people fearing for the unavailability of their finances and savings? I would suggest so, and such a fear, while not acted upon, increases distrust of yet another traditional institution and in this case gives greater credence to the decentralized finance of the cryptocurrency realm. Old and new, the battle continues to be engaged.

Remember: the US is experiencing its first Pluto return back to where it was in 1776 [Pluto was not evident in 1776, only rediscovered in 1930, but its influence was in effect].
