May 22nd – 28th, 2023

The astrology for this week of May 22nd through the 28th of 2023 can have us feeling pushed and pulled with delays and frustrations, indulgences and excesses leading up to the long Memorial Day weekend in the US, the weekend that is seen as the unofficial launch of the summer season.

The week begins pleasantly enough. Our sights may be on fixing up our home for our intended summertime activities or planning fun events which we wish to enjoy.

Mid-week gets dicey with the Fixed Sign T-Square engaged. With Mars having entered Leo this past weekend, we may have gas in our tank, ready to take on the world, but find ourselves stuck in neutral revving the engine but not getting as far or as fast as we would like.

This Fixed Sign T-Square with Mars in Leo, Jupiter in Taurus and Pluto in Aquarius goes on into mid-June. To balance the three Fixed Signs we need the fourth, Scorpio. We can be gung-ho to push forward with our wants, but it could be necessary for us not to go blindly into the night with credit cards in hand but rather to pare down our costs, prioritize our expenses and budget our finances. It might seem all well and good to run up our credit card balances with the hope that we may magically be able to pay down our balance or that we would be rescued by some debt jubilee, but such a belief only indicates the financial ignorance of the populace and a willingness to buy into immediate gratifications with no consequences. Although the saying ‘when the going gets tough, the tough go shopping’ seems endemic to our society, the results can prove catastrophic.

Caution is advised whenever we face blockages and obstacles and try to salve our suffering by spending our way out of our pain.

Even if we feel blocked during the week, the weekend could begin early with Friday offering serendipitous encounters of being in the right place at the right time to meet fascinating contacts.

Shopping or whatever we do on Saturday could prove expensive and exhausting necessitating a slow start on Sunday until our interest perks up and we engage something new and different and unfamiliar to our usual routine.

Perhaps not officially, but here comes summer.

Monday, May 22nd – Laying Down the Foundation Stones – Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury, Sun, Mars. Monday begins the week with the Moon in Cancer and the Cancer Moon today sextile Jupiter, the Moon trine Saturn, and the Moon sextile Mercury. The Sun conjuncts Mars. The 22nd in numerology is a Master number, the number of the master builder. Riding the wave of this past Friday’s New Moon and the weekend change in Sign of Mars entering Leo and the Sun entering Gemini, we can start this week upbeat, grounded and intent on practical implementation. We may feel as though we have gotten a second wind and capable of both multi-tasking and putting our individual mark on our projects. Although this is a day when everything could go our way, we do have to avoid taking on too much or assuming that what we believe we can achieve we could easily and successfully accomplish. We do need to keep in mind that we have a Fixed Sign T-Square in force, so let’s add on extra time, anticipate delays and frustrations, and not try to force our will on anything before its time. Nonetheless, this Monday is a good day for us to lay down the foundation stones on which we intend to build our future. Patience and persistence are called for.

Tuesday, May 23rd – Huffing and Puffing – Venus, Uranus, Mars, Jupiter. Tuesday continues with the Cancer Moon with the Moon today conjunct Venus and the Moon sextile Uranus. Mars squares Jupiter completing the Fixed Sign T-Square triggered last Saturday when Mars first entered Leo and opposed Pluto. Let’s forego the huffing and puffing if we feel that things are taking longer than we like. Delays are liable to have us spend more and vent our frustrations. It would be suggested that we keep track of our expenses today. There is a liability of impulse purchases without considering the costs. We also need to watch that any discontent doesn’t ratchet up into arguments or physical altercations. Tending to home and family matters would be a productive use of today’s energy, especially if we consider clearing out some of the clutter and streamlining our operations. Even small changes around our home greases the wheels for greater changes to come. Increasingly during these times of paradigm shift, it is important that we be flexible and adaptable to the shifting circumstances and for us to be receptive to new opportunities. Finding outlets for our creative talents would be a good way for us to express ourselves and put our individual mark on our projects.

Wednesday, May 24th – Hell of a Hump Day – Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course, Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Jupiter, Mars, Sun. Wednesday begins with the Cancer Moon trine Neptune. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for five hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Cancer and before the Moon enters Leo. The Leo Moon triggers the Fixed Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Pluto, the Moon square Jupiter, and the Moon conjunct Mars. Later in the day, the Moon sextiles the Sun. Our sleep state might provide a pleasant respite from the various push – pulls that we have been experiencing due to the Fixed Sign T-Square that began last weekend. As the waking day begins, the Fixed Sign T-Square is back in force. Whatever we are trying to do on this Wednesday, we might feel blocked and thwarted with delays, frustrations, and things taking longer than we like and costing more than we may have budgeted for. It could seem like everything is stuck in a logjam with little ability for us to move forward. This day demands patience and a willingness not to try and force issues. The keys to successfully navigating these times are flexibility and adaptability. Humility is called for and being astute to shifts and changes and then working effectively with altered circumstances to achieve successful results.

Thursday, May 25th – Step Away – Mercury. Thursday continues with the Leo Moon with the Moon today square Mercury. Often there are times when we need to just step away from whatever we have been doing that has not been going as well as we would like. This Thursday can be one of those days. No matter how frustrating yesterday might have felt with the Fixed Sign T-Square amplified and the liability of various delays and impediments marring our way, it may be best for us to take some time and space from certain projects in order to get a fresh perspective and to allow the deadlock influence to dissipate. Otherwise, we could tie ourselves up in mental knots trying to figure out how best to approach our various frustrating matters without devising an effective solution. People’s frustrations might also be shown in conversations with everyone having a very short fuse, wanting what they want, but with the exasperation heard in their tone and in their apparent irritation. Under the influence of this Fixed Sign T-Square through mid-June, we need to cut everyone, including ourselves, a great deal of slack and not get flummoxed by the current state of affairs. Fortunately, we are at a time of year when the days are getting warmer, and we can get outdoors and ‘air out’. Like a volcano needing steam vents to release pent-up energy, we too need healthy releases, some of which are found by our being out in nature to appreciate the divine design and perfect unfolding of the natural world. Geophysical activity and intense atmospheric storm systems through mid-June are likely under this Fixed Sign T-Square influence.

Friday, May 26th – Gone Fishing – Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus. Friday has the Leo Moon square Uranus early on this Friday. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for twenty and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before the Moon enters Virgo late in the day. Venus sextiles Uranus. We are on the threshold in the US of the long Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start to the summer season. While unexpected developments might alter our plans for this Friday and for the weekend itself, there is not a great deal of energy to get much done today. If we can start the weekend early, we certainly will. Whether we are staying home or going away for this unofficial kickoff to summer, we are more interested in taking care of ourselves and using this time to catch our breath, recharge our batteries and reinvigorate ourselves. Since there could be changes to our plans, it would be wise to keep in mind the reality that there are times when the universal forces have far greater plans for us than we could have devised for ourselves. This may be a day when we make slight changes to our home or to our plans with a recognition that subtle shifts often create even greater changes as we go along. Not a day to push the envelope, this Friday is a day to be attentive to the changing currents and for us to adapt and alter as the shifting sands imply.

Saturday, May 27th – Shop ‘Til You Drop – Jupiter, Mercury, Lunar T-Square, Sun, Saturn. Saturday has the Virgo Moon trine Jupiter in Taurus to begin the day, and the Moon trine Mercury in Taurus to end the day. Sandwiched in between, the Moon triggers a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Virgo Moon square the Sun in Gemini and the Moon opposed Saturn in Pisces. Whether we have traveled to celebrate the unofficial beginning of summer or are staying put and attending to our home and routine matters, we are likely enthralled by come-ons of bargains or sales. Being judicious with our finances and our expenditures would be suggested but liable to be neglected in the frenzy of the day. And frenzy there may be, thanks to the Mutable Sign T-Square. We could be distracted, stimulated, and engaged in any number of diversions and distractions. We may not even consider the implications of our actions, only caught up in the frantic nature of the day. Whatever we choose to do on this Saturday, we are liable to exhaust ourselves unless we have enough discipline just to kick back and use the long holiday weekend as a time to relax and refresh. The relax might be hard to come by with the hyped-up energy of this day. We may be more astute to begin the day and end the day, and somewhat frenzied in-between.

Sunday, May 28th – Exhausted before a Second Wind – Uranus, Venus, Sun, Saturn. The Moon continues its transit of Virgo on this Sunday but makes no connections to the planets until later in the day when the Moon trines Uranus and the Moon sextiles Venus. The Sun squares Saturn. Too much ‘fun’ or too much energy expended yesterday if we were running around could have this Sunday slow starting. We might feel wiped out by yesterday’s activities, even non-actions, that we engaged. Sunday could start with us exhausted, fatigued and even slightly depressed as if the weekend is not living up to our expectations. Taking our time on Sunday morning would help us recharge and reinvigorate. The latter part of the day could give us a second wind with a desire to do something unfamiliar, explore new realms, and do different things that are intriguing or fascinating to us. Even our social interactions seem far better in the afternoon and evening hours than earlier in the day. Sleeping in and taking our time in getting going on this Sunday provide the necessary time for us to regroup and be more scintillating in the afternoon and evening hours.
