January 23rd – 29th, 2023

The astrology for this week of January 23rd through the 29th takes the energy down a notch or two with us feeling comfortable and cozy and perhaps even choosing to dream a little dream.

After starting the year with three retrograde planets and the last two of the three turning direct last week, we are far more in forward gear rather than spinning our wheels or racing around half-baked. Add to the forward movement of planetary direct motion, we are also riding the crest of the Aquarius New Moon this past weekend and the beginning of the Chinese New Year, the year of the yin water Rabbit.

All’s right in the world. Okay, perhaps not everything is right in the world-at-large, but our attitude and choice can make all things right in our personal world. We might draw upon the Serenity Prayer if we’re still feeling overwhelmed.

The week starts with us looking to our future instead of our behind. We may be slow starting as the week begins, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Old assumptions can get in our way. We might feel as though our hopes and wishes are only pipe dreams, realizable in our thoughts but impossible to actualize in our life. Negative thinking breeds negative consequences. Why go there when we are riding the crest of a paradigm shift into asequential reality where things occur in the most inexplicable manner, as long as we don’t get in our own way and mess things up for ourselves?

Even if slow starting, the week picks up speed as the week proceeds. We could engage a ‘can do’ attitude with a little help from the universe. Let’s keep in mind that during this paradigm shift we do NOT have to do it all. We can be co-creators with the universal unfolding and like an adept surfer catch the right wave at just the right time.

Venus exits Aquarius to enter Pisces, ending the Stellium in Aquarius as Venus enters the Sign of its Exaltation.

While a sense of confidence may inspire us to broaden our reach and participate in various activities, we have to be wary of maudlin compassion with us doing a Statue of Liberty play by calling forth the walking wounded, the despondent and the ne’er do well. We can help someone lift their burden, but we cannot carry it for them. Such a gesture would be impeding on someone else’s karma.

The weekend is primed for good times with good friends, or good times going it alone. Spontaneity reigns, so even if we have plans, let’s be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstance. Whatever comes our way could be fun and entertaining.

Monday, January 23rd – Limping Along – Saturn, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course. This Monday has the Moon finishing its transit of Aquarius with the Moon conjunct Saturn and the Moon conjunct Venus in the early morning hours. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for seven hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes it transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces. The Pisces Moon makes no connections to the planets today. It might be hard getting going on this Monday morning. If we could laze around, that would be our preference. We might feel as though the wind has been knocked out of our sails and that we need a good pick-me-up from someone close to us. Did we do too much partying over the weekend in celebration of the Chinese New Year, the year of the Rabbit? This day is a day for us not to be either hurried or harried. If we could take the time to meditate, contemplate and reflect on all the blessings in our life, we might feel spiritually recharged and reinvigorated with an affirmation that we can effectively and successfully deal with anything that comes our way. This week is the first week of the Aquarius New Moon influence — to infinity and beyond.

Tuesday, January 24th – Inspired Advances – Mars, Mercury, Uranus, Sun, Jupiter. The Moon continues its transit of Pisces with the Pisces Moon square Mars, the Moon sextile Mercury in Capricorn, and the Moon sextile Uranus in Taurus. The Sun sextiles Jupiter. If we took the time to catch our breath yesterday and if we don’t get caught up in a flurry of activity as we start out on this Tuesday, we can be highly astute as to the what and the how and the why for our day. By drawing upon our intuitive sense of what is going on combined with a practical evaluation of our situation, we might be incredibly effective and productive as the day unfolds. It may seem as though we have an accurate bead on what we need to get done and then can come up with the most expeditious means to accomplish our goals. Not only could we be highly effective today. Our confidence is likely to increase and as a result a willingness for us to stretch into the projects we wish to pursue, projects that we might have earlier questioned our ability to successfully accomplish. By being humble and perceptive, answers may come to us regarding the most perplexing problems, and we can end the day feeling buoyed and appreciative of how much we achieved in a rather short period of time. Tuesday could have us figuratively moving mountains.

Wednesday, January 25th – New Arenas – Neptune, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Jupiter, Sun. The Moon continues its transit of Pisces on this Wednesday with the Pisces Moon conjunct Neptune and the Moon sextile Pluto. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for two and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces and before the Moon enters Aries where late in the day the Aries Moon conjuncts Jupiter and the Moon sextiles the Sun. Wednesday would be a day to complete matters begun on Tuesday. Our ability to trust our instincts and prioritize the most significant could give us the impetus to hone and conclude situations. This is a good day for us to put to rest issues that needed ending. The optimism and enthusiasm we might have felt Tuesday evening can engage us Wednesday evening with a desire to launch new projects, activate beginnings. The transition of the Moon from Pisces into Aries brings a month cycle to closure and opens a new month cycle. We do not want involvements needing resolution to hamper fresh engagements. First, completions, and then beginnings.

Thursday, January 26th – No Getting Ahead of Ourselves – Mars, Mercury, Venus Pisces. Thursday continues with the Moon transiting Aries with the Aries Moon today sextile Mars and the Moon square Mercury. Venus exits Aquarius, ending the Stellium of three planets in the Fixed Air Sign, and enters Pisces [9:33 PM EST]. The last two days could have had the wind in our sails. Our confidence and optimism may have been strong, generating a sense that we could do no wrong. And we might start this Thursday on that vibe, that everything is going our way and that there is no stopping our ability to pull off virtually every one of our participations. Nice concept but perhaps a little too arrogant. The universe has a great sense of humor and its own universal justice. If we get ahead of ourselves, a little too full of ourselves, we often get tripped up by our own ego and our personal conceits. This Thursday could be one of those days whereby we start the day assuming that nothing can go wrong only to experience various miscues or problems due to our lack of due diligence. We could be fast out the door, ready to take on the world before we even engage consideration of what we are going to do. Even if we have a general plan in mind, essential specifics may be lacking. Instead of putting the cart before the horse by speeding ahead without considering either itinerary or direction, it would be wise for us to plan out our day, consider our schedule and then venture forth. And always with a recognition that during these disruptive, tumultuous times it is always wise to write our plans in pencil with a large eraser and to be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstance that can occur suddenly and dramatically. Venus entering Pisces, a Sign of Exaltation for Venus, can flavor our relationships as idyllic with a niggling liability of deception or illusion. Our emotions can be heightened, our sensitivity fully intensified, and we do have to be wary that our compassion doesn’t displace our reasoning.

Friday, January 27th – New Directions, Old Issues – Saturn, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus. Friday has the Moon completing its transit of Aries with the Aries Moon today sextile Saturn early in the day, the Moon square Pluto later in the day. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for two and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aries and before the Moon enters Taurus. The Taurus Moon sextiles Venus late in the day. Our thoughts and our actions could be more geared to our future plans rather than our present responsibilities. Although we can be jazzed by what we intend to pursue, we have to be wary that we don’t leave outstanding matters undone. If we would address pressing issues before engaging our new projects, we wouldn’t leave anything hanging as we come into the weekend. Such a suggestion might go unheeded, and we may just have some tasks we could have done, even should have done, waiting for us as we begin next week. As we come into the evening, we are primed for a fun weekend with a sprinkling of indulgence of good food, fun purchases to adorn our home, and times with good friends.

Saturday, January 28th – Altered Arrangements – Sun, Mercury, Uranus. The Taurus Moon today squares the Sun early in the day and the Moon trines Mercury and the Moon conjuncts Uranus towards the end of the day. Things may not go according to plan as we begin our Saturday. We might have to make alterations. While such changes could make us a little grumbly, one of the beauties of these times is recurring incidents of the truth that ‘god and the universal forces often have greater plans for us than we could have imagined for ourselves’. This Saturday might just prove to be a case of that truth. Let’s keep in mind that key characteristics of these times include flexibility and adaptability, two qualities we may be called upon to engage today. Despite any hiccups to our schedule today, we are likely to find that the latter part of the day allows for some surprising events that are far more enlivening than what we had planned for. Magic can make an appearance later in the day. We just have to be open to receive. This is a day when we can finally figure things out by not getting in our own way and by being open to things being revealed to us. Today, we might have a further indication of these times of asequential reality where, by our avoiding to force things to our own personal will, far better situations open up to us.

Sunday, January 29th – Go with the Flow – Neptune, Saturn, Sun, Mars, Mercury, Uranus. Sunday continues with the Taurus Moon with the Moon today sextile Neptune and the Moon square Saturn. The Sun trines Mars, and Mercury trines Uranus. If we were not privy to unexpected developments late on Saturday, we are likely to have more than one indication of unanticipated incidents on this Sunday. Both Saturday and Sunday might challenge our sense of self-direction, a self-direction that is often liable to various brambles, bumps in the road and frustrations all of which are unnecessary if we would adopt flexibility and adaptability and heed the muse’s call. By accepting the belief that the true art in life is the art of truly living, we open ourselves to a wide realm of possibilities that are not always of our making but rather the instigation of the universal forces providing us clues, opportunities and assistance as we journey forward. It is important that we not get in our own way by our willfulness in regard to what is supposed to occur, how it is supposed to happen, and what the outcomes are supposed to be. Pride and arrogance are often our downfall, and the challenge today is whether we can step away from our sense of total control over our life’s circumstance and instead go with the flow. The latter opens the door to awe, wonder, magic and miracles. Things could fall neatly together on this Sunday, if our ego doesn’t mess things up.
