June 27th – July 3rd, 2022

The astrology for this week of June 27th through the 3rd of July of 2022 starts off pleasantly enough but the energy intensifies up to the long July 4th holiday weekend in the US where the bombs may not be only bursting in air.

The week starts off with us in high spirits. We may be bustling about doing any number of things. We have great plans for our summer activities, and a sense of ‘the more, the merrier’ can be our herald for the two-week period from Tuesday’s New Moon to the Full Moon on the 13th.

We do have to be wary that we don’t overdo things during this two-week period. We could be so engrossed in what we want that our desires get the better of us. People may still be on their narcissistic tear wanting what they want the way they want it. Tantrums are not cute in a two year-old child but even less so in the childish behavior of adult bodies.

The mid-week period can have us fixing up our home, whether our summer plans include staycations or preparing to hit the open road. The sense of sanctuary on the home front is increasingly appealing in comparison to the antics of the madding crowd. Far better for us to stay safe rather than to be sorry.

The weekend is the July 4th long holiday weekend in the US. While we might prefer an element of merriment, good times with good friends and fully enjoying our summer season; the energies are liable to suggest otherwise.

The combination of explosive intensity and frenzied confusion this weekend demands that we be careful out there, have contingency plans, and be willing to put up with delays, disruptions, and major frustrations. We might be looking to full enjoy the summer weekend, but there could also be indications of rage against the machine.

This is a week that demands we be vigilant, mindful, and willing to adapt to changing circumstance. It may be summertime, but the latter part of this week is a time when the living might not be so easy.

Monday, June 27th – Well-Considered Steps – Mercury, Saturn, Mars, Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course. Monday begins this week with the Moon continuing its transit of Gemini. The Gemini Moon today conjuncts Mercury, the Moon trines Saturn, the Moon sextiles Mars, and the Moon ends the day with the Moon square Neptune. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost nine and a half hours as the Moon finishes its transit of Gemini with no further connections to the planets and before the Moon enters Cancer on Tuesday morning. Mars sextiles Saturn. We are on the ‘dark side’ of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s New Moon. This is a good day for planning — planning our summertime activities, planning any trips we intend to take, planning the steps necessary to realize our long-term goals, and planning how best to cope with increased costs in order to get the most bang for our buck. In any of our plans, it would be wise for us to write them down in pencil with a large eraser, have contingency plans, and willing to be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstance. We are living during disruptive times when things can change without notice and in a nanosecond of time — sometimes curses, sometimes blessings, and sometimes both at the same time. This Monday allows us to devise and strategize effectively with acknowledgements to changing tides.

Tuesday, June 28th – And So It Begins – Moon Void-of-Course, Jupiter, Cancer New Moon, Sun, Venus, Neptune retrograde. The early morning hours of Tuesday has the Gemini Moon Void-of-Course with the Moon making no connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Gemini. The Moon then moves into Cancer where late in the day the Cancer Moon conjuncts the Sun at the Cancer New Moon [10:52 PM EDT] and both the Sun and Moon square Jupiter. The two ‘good guys’ of the planetary realm, Venus and Jupiter, are in sextile. Neptune turns retrograde [3:55 AM EDT]. The Cardinal New Moon truly gives an imprint for that particular season, in this case this Cancer New Moon truly imprints not only the next two weeks up to the Full Moon on the 13th but also influences the entire summer season. Under the influence of this New Moon, people may be deciding to ‘go for the gusto’. Whatever we want, we are likely to feel we should have. People’s narcissism and personal arrogance may know no bounds. The liability of excess with the belief that we are entitled cannot be discounted. There can be rage against the machine, even a certain anarchistic quality where laws, standards and community measures do not apply to us. People might feel a law unto themselves. Individually, we have to prevent going to extremes, being so engaged with instant gratification that we lose sight of the ramifications or long-term consequences of our actions. Although summer is a time of fun events and pleasurable activities that offer relaxation, re-creation and reinvigoration, we do need to monitor our engagements and the costs involved. It may be necessary for us to pump the brakes now and again and to be cautious in our dealings with large groups of people. Things can be ratcheted up so it would be wise for us to be careful out there.

Wednesday, June 29th – Before its Time – Uranus. Yesterday may have been a high energy day with a great deal of thrust for our engagements. This Wednesday is far different. The Moon continues its transit of Cancer but the Moon only sextiles Uranus late in the day. Not that we necessarily burned ourselves out yesterday or went on a binge into overwhelm. But the intensity of yesterday is significantly toned down on this Wednesday. We may be considering stay-at-home activities. If the hurly-burly of the world outside appears too much for us, we might prefer the sanctuary of home today. Attending to details, altering arrangements could be some of our involvements today. The more that we can streamline our operations and utilize time management skills, the more effective we shall be and with more time available for us to do some fun events. With the upcoming holiday weekend, we might either be preparing our holiday plans or making changes based upon the whims of the moment. Let’s expect the unexpected since certain matters may arise of which we were not aware. This is a day for us not to get in our own way but to be open to the magic of these times.

Thursday, June 30th – One Forward, Two Back – Neptune, Lunar T-Square, Mars, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course. The Cancer Moon today trines Neptune and the Moon triggers a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Cancer Moon square Mars in Aries and the Moon opposed Pluto in Capricorn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for four and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Cancer and before the Moon enters Leo late in the day. We can have all sorts of great intentions for the upcoming weekend and might even start out early to begin our holiday weekend. Intentions and implementations are two quite different scenarios, and we could discover that reality today if we have plans to get our ‘party’ going. Today’s T-Square is a prelude to tomorrow’s Mars Pluto square, but both today and tomorrow can be explosive. Whether our own unconscious actions or how we have to react to the self-serving actions of others, this day might have us hitting the wall and more than once. We are aware of travel disruptions whether reasons for such are the weather, staffing shortages, equipment issues, strikes and any other monkey wrench placed in the spokes of our wheels. Today and tomorrow call for, even demand, that we remain calm, flexible and adaptable, and especially mindful and cautious if we are out and about in the world. The Mars Pluto square is one of my least favorite energy configurations and while it is exact tomorrow, the Moon T-Square trigger might result in people acting out, tantrums, violent behavior, and explosive incidents. Today and tomorrow are two days when we need to be especially careful out there.

Friday, July 1st – Calm Before the Storm – Jupiter, Venus, Mars, Pluto. Friday has the Leo Moon favorably engaging the two ‘good guys’ of the planetary realm with the Leo Moon trine Jupiter, and the Moon sextile Venus. Tuesday with the New Moon configuration had Venus sextile Jupiter, and that influence is reinforced on this Friday. Even if we had some hiccups yesterday, this day is likely to find us flying high. We’re totally invested in having a good time, which can take the form of participation in recreational activities, observing other people’s performances, or venues for our own creative pursuits. Time with other people can be fun engagements, and we may be starting, if we haven’t already started, our weekend early. Although we could begin this day on a high note, the latter part of the day might prove a great deal more dicey. Mars squares Pluto, and we have to be especially cautious that we are neither victim nor perpetrator to aggressive behavior or violence. This Mars Pluto configuration often exhibits explosive actions, bomb blasts, brutal incidents and geophysical activity of earthquakes and volcanoes. It is important, essential, that we not put ourselves in harm’s way. Impetuous actions could result in accidents. Let’s enjoy our fun activities but also have contingency plans and keep our eyes wide open being mindful and vigilant.

Saturday, July 2nd – Strategies or Confusions – Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Saturn, Mercury, Neptune. If we survived Thursday and Friday unscathed from the influence of the Mars Pluto square, this Saturday may have us geared up for social engagements and fun activities. The Moon continues its transit of Leo with the Moon today triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Moon square Uranus and the Moon opposed Saturn. Our last year’s nemesis of the Saturn Uranus square is triggered. Mercury trines Saturn, and Mercury squares Neptune. This day calls for proper planning before we start out with the recognition that under our new ‘normal’ things are liable to go awry. It would be wise for us to add on extra time to any intended travel today, to add on extra costs to our assumed budget for any planned expenditures, and to add on extra patience to counter any delays we might encounter. Without a well-conceived strategy that incorporates various alternatives before we start out on our day, we could find ourselves hitting the wall and winding up going around in circles or in a world of confusion. These times, and this Saturday especially, call for us to be flexible and adaptable to changing conditions. We may feel as though we are going through a maze but by being clever about our trajectory, we can turn that maze into a labyrinth.

Sunday, July 3rd – Back on Track – Mercury, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course. Sunday begins with the Leo Moon with the Moon sextile Mercury and the Moon trine Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for two and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before the Moon enters Virgo. The Virgo Moon makes no connections to the planets today. After two days when impetuous actions might have had us scurrying around, banging our head, and feeling like we were getting nowhere, or else taking inordinate amounts of time to do what we might have wanted to do, Sunday is a pleasant reprieve. We might feel as though after two days of being on Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride we are now operating on greased wheels and everything is going smoothly and easily. Today and tomorrow might be the best two days of this long holiday weekend in the US. After a rambunctious start to the weekend, Sunday allows us to settle down, enjoy ourselves and enjoy the company we keep. We can relax and reinvigorate and relish our summer holiday activities. Sunday is a day when we could reaffirm the sentiments of the George Gershwin classic: “summertime, an’ the livin’ is easy.”
