August 23rd – 29th, 2021

The astrology for this week of August 23rd through the 29th of 2021 may have us wistfully wondering where the summer has gone, but this week could also be highly productive if we keep our wits about us, focus on our goals, and effectively navigate the swirling currents of these tumultuous, disruptive times.

The week begins with us feeling supported by those special connections in our life. It’s nice to have a good friend who listens, suggests ideas, and accepts us for the ways that we are. A good friend is especially important during these times when it seems as though down is up, up is down, and is hard to differentiate between the two or between the many variations of life’s themes right now. We can draw upon a trusted confidante to provide a different perspective, an objective viewpoint, and detachment from our issues to give us a perceptive ‘take’ on what is going on and one that is quite possibly different from our own assessment.

The early part of the week might have us in a world of confusion. We could make evaluations based more upon our emotions than reason and consequently determine our course of action by how we feel about things rather than critical analysis and due diligence.

Let’s keep in mind that we are living during disruptive and tumultuous times, times when post-modernism has gained ascent and the subjective has become the objective. Reality is no longer based on fact but rather how we ‘see’ things. Alice Through the Looking Glass pales to the surrealism of these present times.

Although the beginning of the week could prove highly confusing if we base our actions on how we feel about things, we can also rein in our emotions, dispel our anxieties that are continually provoked by the narrative promulgated as if we were subjects akin to Number Six in the 1967 British TV series The Prisoner, and blend our intuitive sense with our reasoning mind to develop a best practices approach and sharpen our clarity as to how to move ahead and why we are going down our particular trajectory.

The mid-week period might have us more self-assertive and less reactive to the lemmings parade. We are likely to concentrate on what we want to do and willing to take machete in hand and carve our own path. Not that we are liable to be impetuous. Once we shake off the fears and concerns of early this week, we can advance our interests in the most expeditious manner with confidence of a ‘can do’ attitude.

The end of the week, early part of the weekend engages our year’s nemesis of the Saturn Uranus square. Old situations may demand attention, and unexpected developments could upend our plans. If we would maintain flexibility and adaptability, two key characteristics necessary during these changing times, then we can proceed with our plans with little upset to our intentions, and with only shifts and adjustments as we go along.

Monday, August 23rd – Grounded Input – Uranus, Mars, Mercury, Venus, Saturn. Monday begins the week with the Moon in Pisces and with the Moon sextile Uranus and the Moon opposed both Mars and Mercury. Venus trines Saturn. We might be highly moody as we begin the week with the liability of our emotions clouding our thinking. Fear is a powerful motivator as we have witnessed and experienced. While critical thinking allows for us to consider various sides to an issue, the constant haranguing of a one-perspective narrative has forced us into an anxious, self-protective mode which lowers our defenses, deflates our immune system and makes us susceptible to being more reactive than proactive. Instead of feeling closed off by our own isolations, drawing upon input from someone or other people as to how they perceive present day reality could provide us a grounding rod and diminish our emotional, reactive thinking. If we could step away from dramatic mood swings and a liability towards playing a victim role, we could use this day to blend our intuitive feelings about something with critical analysis to both better understand what is really going on and then determine the right course of actions for ourselves. Time to get hold of the metronome of attitudes and dispositions and maintain a greater balance of composure.

Tuesday, August 24th – Where There’s a Will – Neptune, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury. Tuesday continues with the Moon in Pisces with the Moon conjunct Neptune and the Moon sextile Pluto. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for nine and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces and before the Moon enters Aries later today. Mercury opposes Neptune. There can be similar qualities to Monday and Tuesday. Both days have us liable to be moody and highly emotional. While we could draw upon our sense of things with a critical analysis of what is really going on, these two days might have us determining whether we are solely reactive to the vagaries of life’s conditions or if we are willing to make lemonade out of lemons. If we would avoid feeling anxious and helpless to circumstance, we can instead engage a ‘can do’ attitude with a belief that ‘where there’s a will, there’s a way’. This Tuesday finishes one lunar cycle through the Zodiac as the Moon completes its transit of Pisces and begins a new monthly cycle when the Moon enters Aries, the first Sign of the Zodiac. Completions and conclusions may be necessary, and perhaps the largest resolution for us is not to fall prey to conditions but rather take machete in hand and prepare to carve our own path, no matter the circumstances in which we find ourselves. It is best to remember the wise and true saying that ‘we never get more than we can handle’.

Wednesday, August 25th – My Way – Saturn, Venus. Wednesday has the Aries Moon sextile Saturn and the Moon opposed Venus. As if we have gained a second wind and shaken off the mood swings of the past two days, this Wednesday allows us to move forward with our plans and to focus on what we wish to accomplish both presently and in the future. We have to be wary of naysayers, those people who suggest that we might be overextending ourselves, taking on too much of a risk, and going beyond our capabilities, or at least the capabilities they attribute to us. There have always been those who shrink away from moving ahead, fearful of unknown future conditions, and more willing to accept the complacency of discontent. We can take into account their concerns as we move forward, but let’s not be paralyzed by their fears, their anxieties, their unwillingness to advance ahead. Relationships can prove dicey if someone seeks to dampen our enthusiasm and our confidence, but there is no need to create a cantankerous situation. Rather, it would be best to disregard their defeatist attitude and realize that we have to do what impels us and embrace our personal choice of what and how and why we are engaging.

Thursday, August 26th – Strategic and Effective – Pluto, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury. Thursday has the Aries Moon square Pluto and the Moon sextile Jupiter. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for seven hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aries and before the Moon enters Taurus early on Friday morning. Mercury trines Pluto. Thursday can be a highly productive day and especially if we take the time to plan out our day, strategize our actions, and focus on the truly important. If we get too full of ourselves, then our self-importance could make our efforts futile. Due diligence and incisive thinking would help keep us on track. No reason to lose today’s opportunities either by our getting distracted by silly diversions or by our assuming that everything will work out the way we want it to by glossing over the details. Nose to grindstone and keeping attentive to what we need to get done will not only accomplish a great deal today but allows us special time with a special someone in the evening hours. Taking care of our necessary business during the day would also allow us to pay attention to our future plans.

Friday, August 27th – Nose to Grindstone – Sun, Saturn. Friday has the Moon moving into Taurus where today the Moon trines the Sun to begin the day, and the Moon squares Saturn to end the day. One of the beneficial energies that has occurred since the latter part of July when Mars entered Virgo is the Earth Grand Trine by Sign that we have with planets in all the Earth Signs — Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. This energy configuration allows us to be productive so long as we are aware of the shifts and changes going on around us and are adept at being flexible and altering our course of action as necessary. This day allows us to accomplish a lot if we will keep our head down, concentrate on what we wish to achieve, and have our nose to the grindstone. Our energies for being effective and successful are stronger earlier in the day than later in the day. As we approach the latter part of the day, we run into our year’s nemesis of the Saturn Uranus square with the Taurus Moon square Saturn today, and the Moon conjunct Uranus tomorrow. Outstanding matters and past issues might trip us up. We may find expenses more than we anticipated, especially with the ravages of inflation filtering through much of our economy by means of highly increased prices [e.g. the 50% increase in gasoline since December] or shrinkflation whereby the prices stay the same but the packaging and the contents within are significantly smaller than before. Increasingly, we need to be smart with our finances, budget our resources, and maintain awareness of the various hits to our wellbeing.

Saturday, August 28th – Operating at Optimum – Uranus, Mars, Neptune. Saturday continues with the Taurus Moon with the Moon today conjunct Uranus, the Moon trine Mars, and the Moon sextile Neptune. Although the early morning has the Moon completing its trigger of the Saturn Uranus square with the Moon square Saturn Friday evening and the Moon conjunct Uranus early this Saturday morning, this Saturday can be one highly productive day when we can accomplish a great deal. Not everything may go as planned, but no matter the cards we are dealt today we are likely to play our hand well with successful outcomes accomplishing more than we might have intended. This is a day for us to work smarter rather than harder and tick off various items on our errands list. We may seem no nonsense as we tend to various matters and progress swiftly ahead with meaningful projects. We are likely to have a great amount of energy, willing to persevere and not at all impacted by whatever craziness could be happening beyond our personal realm. While much of the day can have us focused on mundane matters, the evening hours would be a pleasant time to fully enjoy all the blessings in our life and especially our significant relationships. This is a day when we may work all day and play at night.

Sunday, August 29th – Keeping it Going –Lunar Grand Trine, Pluto, Mercury, Jupiter. Sunday continues with the Taurus Moon with the Moon today triggering an Earth Grand Trine as the Taurus Moon trines Pluto in Capricorn and the Moon trines Mercury in Virgo. The Moon squares Jupiter. Later in the day, the Moon exits Taurus to enter Gemini. Traditionally, we think of Saturday and Sunday as a weekend time when we step away from our normal responsibilities and usual activities to enjoy our relaxation and re-creation. During these disruptive times of the paradigm shift, traditional activities and ‘normal’ engagements are largely gone as we become more attuned to the energies and how best to work with the energies to our advantage. This week’s Saturday and Sunday are best served by getting things done, attending to our mundane affairs, and being highly effective and productive. If we would focus on any pressing demands or outstanding issues, we could achieve great results in a shorter period of time than other times when the energies might not be as geared to such successful outcomes. Let’s do what we need to get done early in the day, capping off a two-day period when the ‘force’ has been with us and use the rest of the day to juggle less serious matters. There is time to work, time to play. Saturday and early Sunday are especially geared to taking care of business, and later on Sunday we can engage our play.
