July 24th – 30th, 2023

The astrology for this week of July 24th through the 30th of 2023 can have us clamoring for summer pastimes, times when we perceived the living to be easy, at least easier than what we may have been experiencing recently.

The week begins pleasantly enough. Nothing is likely to get us into hyper mode, far different from the occasional manic Mondays, for we might prefer the start to this week to be lazy days. Ah, to be lying back in a Vermont meadow on a sunny afternoon watching the clouds float by.

It is summer, and as the week unfolds, we may feel called upon to engage activities associated with summer — entertainment venues, travel, recreational participations, social gatherings. We do have to watch our finances and our expenses in whatever we choose to take part in. We could turn a blind eye to costs involved and might tend to adopt the sentiment ‘let’s live for today’.

The latter part of the week and over the weekend can have us itching to spread our wings, get out of town, and explore the unfamiliar. What we do need to acknowledge is the present reality of travel and movement no longer being the way they were even a few years ago. The dysfunctionality, incompetence, and delays have put a crimp in our getting from point A to point B, even if our itinerary is virtually only down the street.

If we are planning trips, let’s be certain to have contingency plans and a large dose of patience in case we need to contend with today’s present realities.

Some of us might decide to stay around home base over the weekend and make our preparations for getting back on track of our regular routine and autumn schedule.

No matter any frustrations that might arise this week, it would be wise that we maintain an attitude of bemusement, avoid longing for a past better in memory than the actual experience, and enjoy the moments of bliss and re-creation that summer provides us.

Monday, July 24th – Lazy Day. Monday begins this week with the Moon in Libra, but with the Moon making no connections to the planets today. There is not a great deal of energy today. This week is the first full week of the Sun’s transit of Leo with a brief Stellium of three planets in the Fixed Fire Sign with the Sun, Venus, and Mercury in Leo. The Stellium is brief and ends on Friday when Mercury exits Leo to enter its own Sign of Virgo. The emphasis on this Monday is taking it easy and not pushing ourselves or anyone else. If we can take the day to enjoy the company of a special someone, then this might be our preference. We’re more interested in being upbeat and feeling good about things and enjoying light-hearted banter than anything serious, troubling, or depressing. Days like this do not come along every day, so let’s allow ourselves to use this day as a ‘mental health’ day when we only engage those things and those people that make us feel good about life. Peter McWilliams and John-Roger wrote a book back in the late 1980’s with the appropriate title You Can’t Afford the Luxury of a Negative Thought. How true it is.

Tuesday, July 25th – Making Plans – Mercury, Venus, Pluto, Sun. Tuesday begins with the Libra Moon sextile Mercury and the Moon sextile Venus with both Mercury and Venus in Leo. The Moon then squares Pluto before the Moon exits Libra to enter Scorpio where today the Scorpio Moon squares the Sun. The early morning hours of this Tuesday is a good day to make plans for future exploits, upcoming adventures. Even if we decide that a trip to Fantasy Island is in order, we can enjoy ourselves considering limitless possibilities. It would be wise to make our plans in pencil with a large eraser and keep our considerations more in the imagining phase than in implementation. As the day unfolds, we could find that responsibilities are demanding our attention, whether those tasks are our own matters or someone else’s concerns. Late in the day, we might have to whittle back on our intentions, for costs involved could prove too much whether in financial expenses or expenditures of physical energy.
This Tuesday marks a shift from a more carefree, social engaging phase of this week into a more intense and self-focused next two days.

Wednesday, July 26th – Proper Planning – Saturn, Mars, Jupiter. Wednesday continues with the Scorpio Moon with the Moon today trine Saturn, the Moon sextile Mars, and the Moon opposed Jupiter. Proper planning on this Wednesday allows us to be effective and productive in the most expeditious ways. We can accomplish a great deal if we take the time to devise our course of action and utilize time management skills to accomplish what we need to get done. The morning hours are highly beneficial for us to do what we need to get done. Not only could we be successful in our endeavors, but we can also be cost conscious about our expenditures. As the day continues, our attention to detail and our budgetary concerns may fly out the window as we either try to take on too much or we get ensnared by our appetite for immediate gratification with little consideration given to our finances or our budget. From the sublime to the ridiculous is liable to be our trajectory on this Wednesday. Hopefully, we can modulate our behavior and avoid any excess or extremes.

Thursday, July 27th – On our Toes – Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Venus, Mercury, Neptune, Pluto. Thursday demands that we keep attentive to what is going on around us and be willing to be flexible and adaptable to changes with contingency plans in mind. The Moon continues its transit of Scorpio with the Scorpio Moon triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square as the Moon opposes Uranus, and the Moon squares both Venus and Mercury both in Leo. The Moon trines Neptune, and the Moon sextiles Pluto. Late in the day, the Moon exits Scorpio to enter Sagittarius. Mercury conjuncts Venus. Unexpected developments might arise that force us to alter our plans, make changes to our trajectory. If we avoid being flummoxed by variables that we could hardly have been aware of, then we could turn today’s maze into a labyrinth and come to successful conclusions. We just need to work with peripheral vision, keep open to our options and engage alternatives when necessary. We do need to be aware that today could incur additional costs that just cannot be planned for. Yes, there can be some curveballs today. We just don’t need to get beaned by them should they occur. Today is a day for us to keep on our toes, be willing to shift and change when needed, and maintain a bemused attitude even as it becomes evident that Nero fiddles.

Friday, July 28th – All This and More – Sun, Lunar T-Square, Saturn, Mars, Mercury Virgo. Friday has the Moon in Sagittarius with the Sagittarius Moon trine the Sun to begin the day. The Moon then triggers a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon square Saturn in Pisces, and the Moon square Mars in Virgo. Mercury exits Leo, ending the Stellium in the Fixed Fire Sign. Mercury enters its own Sign of Virgo [5:31 PM EDT]. There can be a sense of a push – pull today and over the weekend. On the one hand, we are enamored with possible summertime activities, while on the other hand, the obligations of our impending autumn may be beckoning. Although we could be feeling upbeat as we start this Friday, the wheels can come off the bus shortly thereafter. Either we could be trying to take on too much with the idea of clearing our desk before the weekend, or we are liable to race through matters just to have a sense of completion but without much concentration on what we need to get done. If we are going to rush through things in a hasty wasty manner, then let’s recognize that we’re wasting time and will only have to come back to these very same matters at a future date to tweak or rework what we were supposed to have done correctly the first time. Mercury moving into Virgo gives us a more serious thought process and increased critical analysis. Our attention can be shifting towards routine matters, even if we’re still fully engaged in our summertime recreational activities.

Saturday, July 29th – Idyllic or Delusion – Neptune, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course. Saturday has the Moon continuing its transit of Sagittarius with the Sagittarius Moon later in the day square Neptune and the Moon trine Venus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for four hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn at the end of the day. Today would be a good day to spread our wings and soar with the eagles. Whether we are off traveling or just choose a day to get out of town, we could fuel ourselves with a thrust of energy by allowing our creative juices to flow whether we are a participant in or an observer of expression of talent. The evening could prove confusing. There might be some mixed signals especially if we are primed for a romantic evening. While things could get off to a questionable start, the evening can prove to be quite lovely. Romance is in the air, but we need to be wary as to our preconceptions or setting the bar too high. If we give other people the chance, they could prove worthy of our attention and our interest. We just need to avoid prejudging or expecting everyone to be on our same page. Let’s keep discussions pleasant and avoid the polemics. Mercury has entered its own Sign of Virgo and our reasoning mind may be heightened and acute, but we needn’t turn our conversations into debates with a hypercritical attitude.

Sunday, July 30th – Making It Work – Saturn, Lunar Grand Trine, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter. Sunday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today sextile Saturn and the Capricorn Moon triggering an Earth Grand Trine with the Moon trine Jupiter in Taurus and the Moon trine both Mercury and Mars both in Virgo. This Sunday can be one highly productive day when we can accomplish a great deal, either in hands-on implementation today or in readying ourselves for getting back on track. We are at the end of July and although we have another two months of the summer season, retailers and commentators are suggesting that the school year is approaching and the autumn season impending. Although the school year traditionally began after Labor Day in the US, tradition has gone out the window, and schools are often starting in mid-August with some college orientations already having occurred. Whatever we choose to do on this Sunday, we can be highly successful in dealing with our mundane matters and attending to our intended goals. Everything material may seem on greased wheels today. Our mind is sharp, and we are unlikely to skip over any significant details or neglect essential specifics. If we are shopping, we can come across some excellent bargains on quality goods. Even if we are still summer vacationing, this Sunday provides astute awareness to develop our plans for when we get back on track. This Sunday could be the most fruitful day of the week and of most weeks to devise a best practices strategy that can make our efforts work easily and successfully. Gotta love these times of greased wheels.
