July 19th – 25th, 2021

The astrology for this week of July 19th through the 25th of 2021 can be a regular whipsaw, a Goldilocks-like week without eventually finding things to be quite right.

The week begins with increased sensitivity but also a dampener on our fun and games. Our emotions may rule, and although we could be highly productive, we are liable to feel something missing, a certain lack in our lives.

Even if we feel stuck as we begin the week, as if we are only running in place, we are likely to free ourselves and seek escape from our everyday hum-drum existence for something exciting and thrilling. No fight for us, we are more likely to engage a flight into the unfamiliar, even unconventional.

If we are in harness of our regular routine, we may be grumbling about our obligations and their restrictions to our play time. Despite the grumblings, it would be wise for us to embrace the attitude of ‘grin and bear it’. By staying on course of what we need to get done, we might discover that we can be highly effective and expeditious in accomplishing our tasks.

By acknowledging the proverb of ‘all work and no play…’ we could draw upon our time management skills to balance our focus on our responsibilities with ‘time-outs’ to enjoy our summertime recreational activities.

Life is about balance even when we are whipsawing between extremes.

The second half of the week has significant energy shifts, first with Venus exiting Leo to enter Virgo, then the Sun exiting Cancer to enter Leo, and then with the Aquarius Full Moon on Friday.

Being in the second half of July, we might begin to hear the sirens’ call of the impending autumn with many of us getting back on track in August as the earlier school year starts. Back-to-school sales and autumn wardrobe offerings may remind us that summer is fast receding, even though we still have two months of the summer season to go.

The weekend engages our year’s nemesis of the Saturn Uranus square. This weekend is a time to tread carefully, avoid getting fixed in our opinions or trying to convince other people of our ‘right’ way. Only if we have been oblivious to the machinations of the powers-that-be, each of us has had the opportunity to pull back the Wizard of Oz curtain, see the little guy punching the buttons and pulling the strings, and realize that objective reality has given way to subjective narrative. Facts and the empirical have given way to beliefs and opinions. Fabrications of reality have taken the place of true reality. What a world and what a bizarro time!

Monday, July 19th – Stop the World I Want to Get Off – Lunar Grand Trine, Neptune, Sun, Pluto, Mars, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Jupiter. Monday begins the week with us either tuning out the dissonance of present-day life or enmeshed in struggling to win our way. Our choice, always our choice. Monday begins this week with the Scorpio Moon square both Mars and Venus both in Leo, and the Moon sextile Pluto. A saving grace is the Scorpio Moon triggering a Water Grand Trine with the Moon trine Neptune in Pisces and the Moon trine the Sun in Cancer. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for four and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius where the Moon squares Jupiter. This Monday may seem like a tug-of-war between our idyllic musings and our trying to enforce our will upon the natural unfolding of events. We could easily frustrate ourselves by trying too hard to accomplish what we want only the way that we want it. If we would be flexible and adaptable to the changing parameters, then things might flow far more easily. The key to this day is not to get in our own way and to let go of our self-absorption and our willfulness. Yes, today calls for us to be adults and appreciate that things will occur in their own process and in their own way. We are co-creators with the natural unfolding, no longer sole determiners as to how things should go. By acknowledging and being receptive to the shifts and changes going on, we can adapt to the currents and could be highly productive. We just have to dampen any over-the-top ego pretensions.

Tuesday, July 20th – Easy Does It – Saturn, Mercury, Uranus. Tuesday has the Sagittarius Moon sextile Saturn, and Mercury sextile Uranus. Being confident and upbeat, practical and focused, we could be hugely effective on this Tuesday. Let’s keep in mind that we are all going through the paradigm shift from linear, sequential reality into asequential reality where things occur in the most inexplicable ways or what we might often refer to as magic and miracles, our description of which is due to our inability to comprehend the workings that transcend beginning – middle – end. This is a day for us to have our antennae up, work with peripheral vision, and to be open to some exciting and surprising developments. New information can help us adjust our perspective, make us aware of options and alternatives of which we have not been previously cognizant, and offer us different trajectories than the ones we may have considered. This is a day that calls for us to have some ‘free’ time to take advantage of unexpected opportunities. Often, we tend to make things harder on ourselves than necessary. This Tuesday suggests we let our foot off the gas, discard our itinerary, and consider unanticipated courses for our direction. We could get some ‘ah-ha’ moments today spiced with serendipitous encounters and fortuitous incidents. Isn’t life grand?

Wednesday, July 21st – Going for the Gusto – Neptune, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Venus Virgo. Wednesday has the Sagittarius Moon square Neptune, and the Moon trine both Mars and Venus both in Leo. The Moon then exits Sagittarius to enter Capricorn where today the Capricorn Moon sextiles Jupiter. Venus exits Leo to enter Virgo [8:37 PM EDT]. There are times when things come so easily that we don’t fully appreciate the opportunities provided. Yesterday might have been one of those days, a day when things might have occurred in a most unexpected manner and very much to our liking. Today could have us in a playful mood, a feeling that all is right in the world or, if not in the world-at-large, at least in our own personal realm. This is a day for us to spread our wings, soar with the eagles but without flying too close to the sun as we are warned in the Greek myth of Daedalus and Icarus. Although we are likely to go for the gusto on this Wednesday, let’s be aware of excess and indulgence and getting a little too full of ourselves. As the day progresses, we might give thought to the impending autumn season and our return to our normal activities even if our routine matters are under new ‘normal’ parameters. The entrance of Venus into Virgo can briefly dampen our exuberance, and we have to be wary not to get judgmental in regard to our relationships. We might take on a Goldilocks-quality of seeing people and things as not quite right. We may want things to be perfect but let’s engage the Wabi-sabi attitude of ‘the perfection of imperfection’.

Thursday, July 22nd – This, That, or the Other – Uranus, Venus, Jupiter, Sun Leo. Thursday has the Capricorn Moon trine Uranus late in the day. Venus opposes Jupiter at the day’s start, and the Sun exits Cancer to enter its own regal Sign of Leo [10:26 AM EDT]. Thursday is the 22nd, the master number in numerology indicative of the master builder. This is a day when we can accomplish a great deal. We can utilize streamlined methods to do more in a shorter period of time and even add unique characteristics to whatever we are doing. Feeling pumped up and wanting to stand out, we are liable to either try to do too much today or add extra touches that just might not be necessary. With the two ‘good guys’ of the planetary realm, Jupiter and Venus, in opposition we will need to avoid excess and indulgences. If we add to our ‘to do’ list today, we could get sloppy, trying to dash through this project, then that project and finally some other project. It would be wise for us to decide whether to do this, or that, or some other. It would be far better for us to pick and choose our involvements by being selective in what we are doing rather than trying to take on more than we can handle. We might have a sense of needing to get back on track of our routine affairs, but we are strongly averse to letting go of our summertime fun activities and their re-creational attributes.

Friday, July 23rd – Martyr or Savior – Mercury, Neptune, Pluto Moon Void-of-Course, Aquarius Full Moon, Sun. Friday has the Capricorn Moon opposed Mercury, the Moon sextile Neptune, and the Moon conjunct Pluto. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost eight hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius where tonight the Aquarius Moon opposes the Sun at the Full Moon [10:37 PM EDT]. Friday through Sunday could prove challenging with the push pull between times of enjoyment and times of a future focus, all with an underlying expectation of what we should do. We are conditioned through life to hew to a particular course, and especially now when the critical thinking of thesis – antithesis – synthesis has given way to the official narrative handed down by the edicts of the powers-that-be with no contradictions to be considered. We might feel that there is much we can do, much we should do, but feeling limited in our power. The question of individual responsibility vs. the collective will could be fully engaged today and through the weekend. We have to be wary not to assume that we can solve the world’s problems or even the problems of our close friends. Let’s keep in mind the law of karma, which also indicates that we often take on someone’s karma by relieving them of their personal responsibilities and their own individual karma. Although the martyr – savior game can be exciting and thrilling, in truth it is a no-win situation. The best that we can do is to be the best we can be. Let’s enjoy ourselves, gauge the shifting currents of these times, and be exemplary in our own personal lives.

Saturday, July 24th – Anywhere but Here – Saturn, Uranus, Mercury, Neptune. Saturday has the Aquarius Moon triggering our year’s nemesis of the Saturn Uranus square with the Moon conjunct Saturn and the Moon square Uranus. Mercury trines Neptune. If the tugs-of-war between old and new, between the rational and the irrational, between authoritative edicts and individual freedoms have gotten a little [little?] stale, then this day allows us to tune out the crazies and meander through the idyllic of wonder-filled thoughts and natural surroundings. There come times when we need to step away from the constant bombardment and interminable stimuli of fear mongering and anxiety-creating input, no matter from where it derives. If friends need to prove their point and seek only our agreement to their perspective, then for us this day might be better taken in contemplative reflection and an appreciation of all the wonders and the blessings we each have in our lives. Too much negativity is not good for our well-being – physical, mental or emotional. Any negativity is not healthy. This would be a day for us to rise above mundane concerns and engage the inspirational. Whether we spend the day involved in our own creative projects or we observe the creative mastery of other people, we shall get more out of this day by looking at the beauties and wonders in this world, which can renew our spirit and recharge our batteries.

Sunday, July 25th – Battle Royal – Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Jupiter, Mercury, Pluto. Sunday continues with the Aquarius Moon with the Moon today opposed Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over four hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon moves into Pisces where today the Moon conjuncts Jupiter. Mercury opposes Pluto. Yesterday gave us the opportunity of stepping out of our familiar realm and entering a peaceful sanctuary, whether we got out of town or stayed in our familiar surroundings but tuned out the staccato of present conditions. I wonder how many of us took the opportunity yesterday to bask in the good, the upbeat, the inspirational and the beautiful, all of which surround us if we would only pay heed. Probably too few, and today we might pay the price. Everyone may seem to have a chip on their shoulder today, willing to be argumentative and contentious, almost looking to pick a fight. Avoiding knee-jerk reactions or immediate responses would go a long way to defusing potentially intense situations. Let’s count to ten before we reply to someone’s statement of opinion, keeping in mind that reality has taken on a most subjective interpretation and the true reality lost to emotions and biases. Fortunately, the evening hours provide the energy input for us to take on a more compassionate attitude, engage our spiritual nature and recognize that there is far more to life and living than what we assume it to be.
