  • Summer 2009

While Summer is often associated with down time, getting off the track of our routine and taking time for relaxation and re-creation, this Summer can have us balancing our personal needs with the demands of our daily responsibilities.

  • Spring 2009

As we start this Spring, the energies are focused on new beginnings. Our sensitivity is likely to be turned up severalfold and we do have to be careful not to fall into a reactive, regressive or victimized role. Certainly, old issues may cloud our mind or impact our initiations at this time. While we might have to do a strong Spring cleaning, dealing with outstanding matters, old issues still unresolved and the consequences of past actions; this is a time for us to launch forward with new projects. If we draw upon the lessons of our past, then we are not compelled to repeat the same actions, the same mistakes, or going back over ground already covered.

  • Winter 2008

This Winter is a time of significant transformation. Like the mythological bird phoenix on its funereal pyre to rise from its ashes, like Christianity’s Jesus the Christ crucified to resurrect and ascend; we as individuals, as a society and as a global community are likely to go through significant transformations. Old structures, old patterns, old ways of being may be sorely tested.

  • Autumn 2008

Relationships and a sense of filling a void in order to seek completion are strong as we begin this autumnal season. There may a great deal of hot air — any surprise with elections occurring in the US and in Canada? People could be offering ‘fix it’ approaches that conceptually seem grand but may have little staying power.

  • Summer 2008

This Summer starts with an ‘all or nothing’ disposition, an intensity when nothing is likely done in half measure. Although we are looking for summer fun times, we may also come to realize that the landscape has changed. The easygoing ‘lazy, hazy days of summer’ may be a past memory, hard to recapture under today’s backdrop. While we might find these times challenging, we could also use this period akin to the grain of sand within the oyster…

  • Winter 2007

Just as Winter in nature in the Northern Hemisphere is a time of going inward and life being expressed more internally than externally, this winter for us can raise various issues that ask for contemplation and focused intent. We could call this our winter of discontent. But discontent talks about a sense of dissatisfaction with the status quo, a feeling that may permeate our disposition and even our actions.

  • Autumn 2007

We are on the threshold of a paradigm shift. This transition is characterized by changing the mindset of being in control of our lives to an appreciation that we can navigate the rapids by being aware and working with the energies rather than trying to force our will upon them. During these times, it is especially important to realize that the universe is unfolding as it should, even if we cannot see that viewpoint at the time.

  • Summer 2007

This Summer begins with the Summer Solstice and the Sun’s entrance into the Cardinal Water Sign of Cancer on June 21st. This Summer starts on a fiery note with a Grand Trine in the Fire Signs linking all three of the Fire Signs with Mars in Aries, Venus and Saturn in Leo, and Jupiter and Pluto in Sagittarius.

While we begin the Summer with a Grand Trine in the Fire Signs, we also begin the season with a Mutable Sign T-Square. We may have a great deal of energy, but we could also find ourselves all over the place, overwhelmed by having too much on our plate.
