May 12th – 18th, 2025

The astrology for this week of May 12th through the 18th of 2025 suggests we slow things down, avoid snap judgments and prevent intense reactions to situations.

The week begins with the Scorpio Full Moon and the Grand Cross in Fixed Signs accentuated.  We may feel volcanic with irritants percolating below the surface and liable to erupt or explode at any time.

Our mind may be sharp but our tongue critical.  Mercury triggers the Fixed Sign T-Square linking up the Mars Pluto opposition with Mercury square Pluto shortly after the Full Moon on Monday and culminating with Mercury square Mars on Sunday.

Self-editing our talk and maintaining an aura of composure might be necessary to keep us out of trouble this week.  The tendency is more likely for us to be quick in speech with a biting tenor to what we have to say.

Mid-week can have us seeking escape from our daily issues.  Whether we get out of Dodge physically or figuratively, taking a break every now and then this week would be a healthy release of pent-up energies.  Let’s drive defensively, act cautiously, and not let the craziness in the world get the better of us.  Maintaining a bemused attitude towards the antics of humankind and the vagaries of nature will keep us balanced and better able to effectively handle whatever comes our way.

The weekend might be a time for us to change things up.  We could have a personal makeover, do some seed planting of new projects, and consider new trajectories that might be more satisfying and fulfilling for us.

Rashness may raise its ugly head late on Saturday, early Sunday so we will need to keep the reins in hand on whatever we engage and whatever we choose to do.

The weekend reminds us to ‘slow down, you move too fast.’

Monday, May 12th – All Fall Down – Scorpio Full Moon, Sun, Uranus, Mercury, Pluto.  Monday begins this week with the Scorpio Full Moon [12:56 PM EDT] as the Moon opposes the Sun and late in the day the Moon opposes Uranus.  Mercury squares Pluto.  Th Full Moon culminates the two-week cycle of the waxing Moon from the Taurus New Moon back on April 27th.  The past two weeks may have been a push – pull in many directions but with an undercurrent of frustrations and delays operating.  Today provides a crescendo, so it would be wise for us to have on our body armor and hard hat to avoid being severely buffeted by any intense release of energies.  Not only are the ocean tides exaggerated at a Full Moon, but so too are people’s emotions.  With the Grand Cross by orb in Fixed Signs, people could easily vent their frustration on this Monday.  Add to that energy configuration the likelihood of many of us suffering an emotional hangover from yesterday’s Mother’s Day and the Mercury square Pluto today, beginning Mercury’s trigger of the Mars Pluto opposition with Mercury square Pluto today and Mercury square Mars on Sunday, and we really need to watch our tongue, avoid verbally lashing out or being lashed at.  Intensity doesn’t quite describe today’s energy.  We would have to ratchet it up severalfold.  If we don’t get ensnared by today’s severity, we can find productive outlets for today’s ferocity, which could include a serious look at our finances, both revenue streams and expenditures, a completion of outstanding matters demanding resolution, a consideration of how best to streamline our present operations, and pondering alternative approaches or different trajectories, among any number of things of ‘out with the old, in with the new.’

Tuesday, May 13th – Expanding Towards Fulfillment – Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Neptune, Pluto, Venus.  Early morning of this Tuesday has the Moon completing its transit of Scorpio.  The Scorpio Moon trines Saturn and then the Moon goes Void-of-Course for two hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius as we awaken.  The Sagittarius Moon today sextiles Pluto and the Moon trines both Neptune and Venus both in Aries.  Even if we got tossed about by yesterday’s tsunami-like waves of moods and emotions and acting out, this Tuesday calms the seas and can have us looking on the brighter side of life.  We may be upbeat, feeling less a victim to circumstance, and more willing to gaze at the distant horizon rather than staring at just what is right in front of us.  Although we have been dogged by the Mars Pluto opposition over recent months, today and tomorrow has the Moon making nice with each, today with the Moon sextile Pluto, tomorrow with the Moon trine Mars.  This Tuesday is a day for us to engage our personal interests and expand into our plans for a brighter future.  We can give thought to what is truly important for us, prioritize our activities and move ahead with commitment and determination to accomplish our goals.  We may feel as though the wind is to our back moving us forward into better days.

Wednesday, May 14th – Full Steam Ahead – Mars.  Wednesday has the Sagittarius Moon trine Mars.  Yesterday we had the Moon sextile Pluto.  We have been laboring under a Mars Pluto opposition over the past several months, and this week Mercury triggers the opposition by Mercury having squared Pluto on Monday and with the Moon square Mars on Sunday.  Tuesday and Wednesday are two days that provide a respite thanks to the Moon.  Instead of digged-in heels and confrontational attitudes, people may be more pleasant, assertive without being arrogant, and with a tendency to see the good things in their lives.  One can only hope!  If we set our course yesterday, determined what was truly important for us to engage, then this Wednesday could have us moving forward with full steam ahead.  By Sign, the Sagittarius Moon triggers a Fire Grand Trine with the Moon trine the two planets in Aries, Venus and Neptune, and the Moon trine Mars in Leo.  Tuesday and Wednesday may be the two most productive days of this week.  Not only might we clear the decks by addressing matters to be resolved but we can make strategic plans for our future endeavors.  We may feel as though there is nothing stopping us now.  Besides, as we are often advised by the wise and true saying: “we never get more than we can handle.”

Thursday, May 15th – Pendulum Swings – Lunar T-Square, Jupiter, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Neptune.  The Moon completes its transit of Sagittarius on this Thursday with the Moon triggering the Jupiter Saturn square in a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Jupiter early in the day, followed later by the Moon square Saturn.  The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for an hour and a half with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn where today in the evening the Capricorn Moon squares Neptune.  Coming off two days when we could have had flags flying, feeling optimistic and confident about our involvements, we might start this Thursday with a false sense of being at the top of our game.  With the assumption that what we want we shall get and get it the way that we want it, we are liable to overstep our abilities and squander our resources.  Delusion based upon arrogance and narcissism may lead us down the garden path with us oblivious to the conditions and circumstance around us.  We could easily set ourselves up for a nasty fail.  The Jupiter Saturn square is like a whipsaw between extremes.  Moderation is called for today.  Otherwise, we may find ourselves swinging from irrational exuberance at the start of the day to depressive despair at the end of the day.  Who needs a nasty slap in the face as a wakeup call when self-restraint could keep us on the straight and narrow and prevent us from harming ourselves?

Friday, May 16th – Slow and Steady – Mercury, Venus.  Friday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today trine Mercury, and the Moon square Venus.  During these turbulent, tumultuous, volatile times, it is always wise to carefully plan our engagements and evaluate and reevaluate as we proceed forward.  The paradigm shift through which we are living is one where things can change dramatically and swiftly and with little notice ahead of time.  Increasingly, it is essential that we keep on our toes, take everything we see and hear with healthy skepticism, and not jump to any conclusions or make snap decisions.  Strategizing and well considered planning are keys to success, but we also need to recognize the truth to the statement “if you want to make god laugh, tell god your plans.”  It is important that we make our plans in pencil with a large eraser so that we can adapt to changing conditions and adjust our trajectory.  Humility is called for since any attempt to push forward willfully without acknowledging these times of shift and change might only result in a pushback from the universal forces.  By considering all the specifics and then forging ahead with confidence and mindfulness, we can be highly effective and productive in attaining our heart’s desires.

Saturday, May 17th – Brighter Days Through Better Ways – Uranus, Sun.  Saturday has the Moon continuing through Capricorn with the Capricorn Moon trine both Uranus and the Sun both in Taurus.  The Sun conjuncts Uranus.  This Saturday provides the energy for us to pursue new interests and different trajectories.  Whether we draw upon technologies or utilize new techniques, this Saturday impels us to streamline our operations and be more effective with less expenditure of energy.  We may want to explore and investigate today. ‘Same old, same old’ is unlikely to cut it for us today. Change is in the air.  We can rid ourselves of the extraneous in our life and focus on the new.  It’s springtime, a season of promise of new beginnings and rebirth, and we might feel that we are going through a similar quality.  We are looking to unburden ourselves, be more autonomous in our life and less constricted by how we deal with our responsibilities, and we are seeking to add greater variety and vitality to everything we do.  If we can have this day as a blank slate and then be spontaneous and engage whatever catches our fancy, we could be reenergized and realize what a wonderful, and wonder-filled, life we lead.  This Saturday suggests we embrace the concept of ‘brighter days through better ways.’

Sunday, May 18th – Bite Your Tongue – Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Neptune, Pluto, Mercury, Mars.  Sunday begins with the Capricorn Moon sextile Saturn in the early morning.  The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for an hour with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius where today the Aquarius Moon sextiles Neptune and the Moon conjuncts Pluto.  Mercury squares Mars.  Hopefully, we used some of Saturday to sort through, clean up and clear out, to provide a blank space on which to draw engagements that excite us.  This Sunday impels us to pursue those interests and those people that add meaning to our life.  Getting together with friends, discussing our plans, and drawing upon suggestions from other people can add fuel to our fire of what and how we wish to start up new projects.  We do have to be careful in how we express ourselves and what we hear from someone.  This week began with Mercury square Pluto and today we have Mercury square Mars.  The liability of being overbearing in conversations, belligerent or pontificating cannot be discounted.  Mercury is triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square with Monday’s Taurus Mercury square Pluto in Aquarius and today’s Mercury in Taurus square Mars in Leo.  The Mars Pluto is engaged as bookends this week, and today we need to be wary that too much forcefulness isn’t used to either authenticate opinions or strongly make a point.  Instead of critiquing or criticizing, we may all want to just bite our tongue.  Today is a day when it would be wise for everyone to think before they speak.
