May 5th – 11th, 2025

The astrology for this week of May 5th through the 11th of 2025 may have us celebrating at the beginning of the week and at the end of the week with attention to details and to relationships during the rest of the week.

We start the week feeling upbeat and inspired and looking more to our future and to our friends than to our present-day responsibilities.  Any excuse for a party, and we have it on Monday as we celebrate Cinco de Mayo, a little-known holiday until a few years ago when cerveza, guacamole and chips became a thing.

After the merry making dies down, the early part of this week can have us attending to our tasks and obligations, taking care of the particulars of our daily life.  If we keep our head down, deal with what needs to get done, we could accomplish our necessary tasks even if our heart really isn’t into it.

The latter part of the week and early on the weekend, our focus might be more on what is going on with the people in our life.

Mercury exits Aries to enter Taurus, and in so doing Mercury ends the Stellium in Aries and triggers a Stellium in Taurus as Mercury joins the Sun and Uranus in the Fixed Earth Sign.

“Slow and steady wins the race”, as we are advised from Aesop’s Fable.  From much of the impulse and impetus of early spring, we are ready for our seed planting, both figuratively and literally.

In the northern latitudes, this week heralds the peak outburst in nature with the tress in full blossom, the flowers in full bloom.  What a glorious time of year in the northern latitudes.  We could feel that all is right in our world.

Some of our ‘feel good’ attitude might tarnish late on Saturday as we prepare for our honoring Mother’s Day on Sunday.  Whether we get together with our mom on Sunday or do so in memory recall, there can be a sense of celebrating our mom, although perhaps tinged with heavy emotion and intense sentiment.

Like life itself, this week offers us a kaleidoscope of feelings, activities, and involvements.

Monday, May 5th – Hail, Hail, the Gang’s All Here – Jupiter, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury.  Monday has the Moon finishing its transit of Leo with the Leo Moon today sextile Jupiter and the Moon square Uranus.  The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for six and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Leo and before the Moon enters Virgo where today the Virgo Moon makes no contact with the planets.  Mercury sextiles Jupiter.  We may be feeling upbeat and optimistic as we start this week.  Even though we may have to alter our plans and adjust our schedule, nothing is likely to rain on our parade today.  We’re feeling too good about things.  Besides, today is Cinco de Mayo, a day to party, imbibe, and get together with friends and have a good time.  The partying may not go on forever since the energy shifts later in the day with responsibilities beckoning.  But before we get into work mode, this day provides the impetus for us to blow off a little steam.  Even if we don’t know the cause of celebration on Cinco de Mayo [a brief and illusory victory of the Mexicans over the French in Puebla in 1862], we can always find a reason to party.  Today is one of those days.  Let’s join in the festivities and like the Mexicans back in 1862 savor the brief celebrations.  A caveat for today is for us to watch our expenses and unexpected costs involved.  Let’s vent by enjoying ourselves before we get back to business.

Tuesday, May 6th – Best Foot Forward – Venus, Pluto.  Tuesday continues with the Moon’s transit through Virgo, but the Moon makes no connections to the planets today.  Venus sextiles Pluto.  This is a day for us to have our feet on the ground and our head in the clouds.  Let’s take care of our mundane tasks and daily responsibilities, all the while that we consider where we want to go in the days ahead, our future goals and our ambitions.  Although our focus today might be more on the minutiae of our lives and tending to the details of our lives, we could also give thought to who or what might be able to assist us in realizing our hopes and wishes.  If we have time, today would be a good day for a personal makeover, whether our personal appearance or our wardrobe to present ourselves in the most appealing and significant manner.  We may be concerned about our personal interests, but we can also enlist additional assistance to realize our dreams.  We might have nose to grindstone today, but it would be suggested for us to look up now and again, evaluate the circumstance and conditions in which we find ourselves, and then continue with what we wish to accomplish today.  Let’s keep in mind that during this paradigm shift with turbulent twists and turns and intense volatility things can change in a nanosecond or less.  Mindfulness and awareness are key ingredients for us to successfully address our present needs and move ahead with our intended goals.

Wednesday, May 7th – Necessity is the Mother of Invention – Sun, Jupiter, Uranus.  Wednesday continues with the Virgo Moon with the Moon trine the Sun in the early morning hours, the Moon square Jupiter around midday, and the Moon trine Uranus in the evening.  We may have great intention as we start this Wednesday.  We might feel that we have all the necessary pieces to expedite our projects and successfully accomplish our plans.  And we may have, if we don’t jump ahead of ourselves and assume that we can achieve more than humanly possible.  Feeling effective and productive, we could easily put more on our plate, add more to our ‘to do’ list, and have many, too many, specific items to address.  With a desire to get to tomorrow while today is young, we might easily put ourselves on overload.  Too much is always a problem, no matter how it shows itself.  Today too much can reveal itself with everything we want to do and feel we need to do.  Fortunately, the evening hours could come to our rescue with us either drawing upon new technologies to ease our way or by streamlining operations so that we can be more effective with less expenditure of energy.  Time saving tools and techniques can save us a lot of grief and might help us learn the lesson to not put so much on our plate that we become overwhelmed.  Lesson learned?  Hopefully so, possibly not.

Thursday, May 8th – Pick and Choose – Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Neptune, Pluto, Venus, Mars.  Thursday begins the day with the Virgo Moon opposed Saturn in the early morning hours.  The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for three hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon enters Libra where today the Libra Moon opposes both Neptune and Venus, the Moon trines Pluto, and the Moon sextiles Mars.  We may have ended yesterday by having exhausted ourselves.  The too much might have gotten the better of us.  But the saving grace could be that we are a little more astute, a little more discriminating regarding where and how to be of assistance as we come into this Thursday.  Push – pulls between what interests us and the concerns of someone else may have us wondering where we should place our attention.  If we would take our time to pick and choose, be selective in our choices, and concentrate on the truly meaningful, then we can become focused and give our all to those situations that may not only serve us but also serve the best interests of other people.  Push – pulls do not necessitate an either – or conundrum.  On the contrary, by determining what we consider to be ‘right action’, we are able to find the middle way, address the most significant, and in the process benefit one and all.  Life does not need to be a constant struggle of challenges.  Instead of rushing around in a frenzied manner, we could take the time to contemplate our involvements and decide a best practices approach to achieve successful results for all concerned.

Friday, May 9th – Serenity Now.  Friday continues with the Moon in Libra.  The Moon makes no connections to the planets today.  We could consider this day a respite from the harried world.  Each of us might have felt as if we were being propelled along, going ever faster with hardly a moment’s peace as we tried to juggle all the varied involvements of our life.  Today is a good day for a ‘time out’, a day to step away, find a sanctuary for oneself, and enjoy the perfection of nature and the appealing quiet of stillness.  During this paradigm shift where things are occurring rapidly with wild swings, it is hard to find balance and then maintain it.  This Friday rings up as one of those days when we do not need to heed pressing demands or beckoning calls but rather to take the time to reflect, contemplate, and recharge.  For many of us, nature is now in full bloom.  Let’s enjoy the magnificence and glory of the natural world.  A walk in the park, a drive in the country, a meditation under a grand old oak tree; any of these reconnections with nature can be fulfilling and reinvigorating.  A forest bath could provide a necessary cleanse, clearing us of the toxins we take on and giving our being a good scrub.  We might call this Friday a ‘mental health’ day, and a day like this is often essential for us to maintain composure and appreciation of all the goodness in our life.

Saturday, May 10th – Sublime to Ridiculous – Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Lunar T-Square, Mercury, Pluto, Mercury Taurus.  Saturday begins the day with the Libra Moon trine Jupiter.  The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for thirteen and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio where today the Scorpio Moon triggers a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Mercury and the Moon square Pluto.  Mercury exits Aries and enters Taurus [8:15 AM EDT].  The Scorpio Moon triggers by Sign a Fixed Sign Grand Cross with the fourth Element, Fixed Fire, being aspected tomorrow by the Moon when the Scorpio Moon squares Mars in Leo.  The latter part of this day and Sunday could be challenging and demand a strong dose of patience.  Mercury exiting Aries ends the Stellium in the Cardinal Fire Sign, but entering Taurus, Mercury triggers a Stellium in the Fixed Earth Sign as Mercury joins the Sun and Uranus in Taurus.  We can be far more practical in our thinking, less impetuous or self-absorbed.  We may start the early morning of this Saturday feeling like we’re at the top of our game, confident, optimistic, and looking for good times on this Mother’s Day weekend.  While the early part off this Saturday can have us sensing that everything is operating on greased wheels, smoothly, easily, and to our liking; the latter part of the day could have us stuck in a quagmire, frustrated, with everything taking longer than we might like.  Instead of wild swings between irrational exuberance and depressive despair, we may need to tone things down, fine a decorum of balance, and mitigate extreme feelings or actions.  Let’s avoid tantrums or being totally thrown by our lack of control over situations.  Patience is called for and to maintain a calmness in what might be arduous circumstance.  We need to prevent kneejerk reactions or snap judgments today.  We may want what we want, but only get what we need.  It would be important for us to let go of our expectations and accept the shifting tides of this day.  Unfortunately, as the day unfolds, we could find ourselves going from the sublime to the ridiculous.

Sunday, May 11th – Time Out! It’s Ma’s Day – Mars.  Sunday continues with the Scorpio Moon with the Moon today square Mars.  Yesterday, we had the Fixed Sign T-Square with the Scorpio Moon opposed Mercury in Taurus and the Moon square Pluto in Aquarius.  Today, the T-Square morphs into a Fixed Sign Grand Cross as the Scorpio Moon squares the missing fourth Element to the T-Square, Leo, as the Moon squares Mars in Leo.  This is Mother’s Day, a day we honor and celebrate Ma.  Nice concept, and it could be a fun occasion, but these Hallmark holidays are replete with memories, unresolved issues, and throwbacks with Mother’s Day serving up their parent’s tendency to see their children not as present-day adults but rather stuck in some sort of time machine of their child at some adolescent age.  It’s hard to transition out of a childhood time lock into present-day, and Mother’s Day adds to the flavoring of parent child relationships of the past.  While a great deal of emotion can surface today, let’s try and grin and bear it, enjoy a festive meal, whether home-cooked or the jacked-up holiday prices at a fancy restaurant, and not revive old scars.  We have the Full Moon tomorrow, so the tides are likely to be high, both the tides of the oceans and the tides of human emotion.  A good salt bath at the end of the day might be considered to pull out some of the psychic toxins taken on from this festive day.
