May 19th – 25th, 2025

The astrology for this week of May 19th through the 25th of 2025 can have us in full springtime fever and fervor with various significant Sign changes and major shifts in the energy.

The week begins with us possibly befuddled by the vast array of options available to us.  We could easily get seduced by the appearances, hypes, and presentations and discount serious vetting or intent consideration of the content or the substance behind whatever is being promoted.

We need to be careful not to be carried away by our euphoria and our hopes and wishes.  We could be so enamored by prospects and possibilities that we keep from exploring in-depth or investigate deeply.  Our tendency, and our liability, could have us ‘in the moment’ without considering consequences or the likelihood of unintended consequences.

Early in the week, the Sun exits Taurus and enters Gemini, followed on Sunday by Mercury exiting Taurus to enter its own Sign of Gemini.  The Stellium in Taurus comes to an end and a Stellium in Gemini is created as the Sun and Mercury join Jupiter in the Mercury-ruled Mutable Air Sign.

We have another major and most significant Sign change this week with Saturn exiting Pisces and entering Aries to start Saturn’s thirty-year cycle around the Zodiac wheel.  Saturn’s entry into Aries also triggers a Cardinal Fire Stellium as Saturn joins Venus and Neptune in Aries.

We now have a lot of Fire and Air and lack in both Earth and Water.  The winds may be blowing and fires fanned, not a good augury for wildfire season out west and liable wildfires in drought-stricken areas.  Back in the 1990s, then Illinois US Senator Paul Simon warned that while wars in the twentieth century might revolve around oil, contentious conditions in the twenty-first century would likely revolve around water.

The emphasis upon the Positive Signs of Aries and Gemini might impel us to take a more proactive approach, engage new beginnings, and look to put our personal mark on our various endeavors.

The weekend can be a highly exciting time, the long holiday weekend of Memorial Day, and ushering in the ‘unofficial’ start to summer.  Let’s enjoy ourselves but be cautious in our movements, since unexpected situations could create frustrating delays or increased costs.

Monday, May 19th – What it Is, What it Isn’t – Venus, Lunar T-Square, Mars, Mercury.  Monday begins this week with the Aquarius Moon sextile Venus, and the Moon triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Aquarius Moon opposed Mars and the Moon square Mercury.  We may prefer a day of fun and relaxation, and without that as a possibility we can be slow starting as we begin the day.  Canadians and those of us who often pretend to be Canadians when traveling out of the US have the luxury of Victoria Day, Canada’s national holiday and their unofficial start of the summer season.  For those in the US, this coming weekend is the Memorial Day long holiday weekend, and the unofficial start in the US of the summer season.  Summer is being felt in our bones, in our spirit and in our thoughts as we plan for the lazy, hazy days of summer.  If we could spend this day in idle chatter, that would likely be our preference.  Even if we try to accomplish a lot today, we are liable to encounter delays and frustrations as we try to push forward.  Timing can be off today, so we may need a great deal of patience and a willingness to put up with what often seems like increased dysfunctionality as the pace of our lives seems to accelerate.  This Monday is a day for us to either step off the track and enjoy ourselves or deal with what’s happening with an attitude of ‘grin and bear it.’

Tuesday, May 20th – Switch it Up – Jupiter, Uranus, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course, Saturn, Sun Gemini.  Tuesday has the Moon finishing up its transit of Aquarius in the early morning hours with the Aquarius Moon trine Jupiter, and the Moon square both Uranus and the Sun both in Taurus.  The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for half an hour as the Moon completes its transit of Aquarius with no further connections to the planets and before the Moon enters Pisces with the Pisces Moon making no connections to the planets today.  The Sun sextiles Saturn before the Sun exits Taurus to enter Gemini [2:55 PM EDT].  The Sun’s exit from Taurus ends the Stellium in the Fixed Earth Sign and opens the door to our greater interest in variety, sampling and going from here to there to somewhere else.  We may start this Tuesday with a thrust of confidence and optimism but with the liability of negating to dot the i’s and cross the t’s.  We may be feeling the thrust of springtime and especially with the unofficial start to summer right ahead of us this coming weekend.  This is a good day for us to complete outstanding matters before we get carried away with springtime projects and activities.  While our plans may have to be altered today, let’s try and deal with completions and conclusions before we head out into a flurry of activities with neither commitment nor persistence.  We are moving more into the ‘merry month of May’ when we are far more concerned with possibilities and prospects than diligent engagements.

Wednesday, May 21st – Not Much of a Hump Day – Mercury.  Wednesday continues with the Pisces Moon with the Moon sextile Mercury late in the day.  While our tendency under the Gemini Sun influence may have us fast out the door, this Wednesday might have us applying the brakes and taking the time to consider a best practices approach regarding what we want to get done and how to do so expeditiously.  We could have had some unexpected disruptions yesterday that let some air out of our tires and forced us to realign with circumstance and conditions rather than moving ahead willy-nilly.  Today allows us to take a more reasoned approach, slow things down, and strategize before implementing.  We often need quiet time without distractions or intense stimuli to figure things out.  This would be one of those days.  Working out of our home might prove far more productive than going into the office.  There may not be a whole lot of energy today, but concentration and focus would help us crystallize our thoughts and determine how we can realize our long-term goals.  With the volatility of these turbulent times of the paradigm shift, we often need to quiet our mind, be aware of the shifts and changes going on that demand we be flexible and adaptable to changing conditions.  Patience and mindfulness are called for during these times.  As the thirteenth century Persian poet Rumi stated: “”By practicing stillness during doubts, we cultivate the space needed for growth and discovery.

Thursday, May 22nd – Wild Swings Before Getting a Grip – Uranus, Jupiter, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Neptune, Sun, Pluto, Venus, Mars.  Thursday has the Moon completing its transit of Pisces with the Moon sextile Uranus, and the Pisces Moon triggering the Jupiter Saturn square with the Pisces Moon square Jupiter and the Moon conjunct Saturn.  The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for twenty minutes with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Pisces and before the Moon enters Aries where today the Aries Moon conjuncts Neptune, the Moon sextiles the Sun in Gemini, and the Moon sextiles Pluto in Aquarius.  Venus trines Mars, and the Sun sextiles Neptune.  Hopefully, we took some time yesterday to catch our breath, step away from the hurly-burly world, and reinvigorate ourselves in our sanctuary of quiet space.  The energy on this Thursday is ratcheted up severalfold.  We have the Moon ending its month-long transit through the Zodiac and beginning a new month-long cycle as the Moon goes from the last Sign of the Zodiac, Pisces, into the first Sign of the Zodiac, Aries.  The Jupiter Saturn square is engaged with its wide swings between expansion and contraction, new involvements hampered by past burdens, elations morphing into disappointments.  The three transcendental planets of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are pleasantly engaged.  Our feminine and masculine characteristics are well integrated and balanced.  And we have the opportunity of being receptive to the silent muses urging us to continue on our individual journey of realizing our personal destiny.  This Thursday can be an especially fortuitous day so long as we don’t get locked into an ego perspective but rather step out of our own way and be receptive to the magic and miracles of these times.  Let’s keep in mind the wise saying that ‘god and the universal energies have far greater plans for us than we could have imagined for ourselves.’

Friday, May 23rd – Bring it On – Mars, Venus.  Friday has the Aries Moon trine Mars and the Moon conjunct Venus, both aspects in the latter part of the day.  We are coming into the Memorial Day holiday weekend and the unofficial start to the summer season.  We might choose to start the weekend early.  Our course of action today is likely more geared to planning fun events, enjoying ourselves and without us getting much done regarding our usual tasks and responsibilities.  If we can get away, or at least put on hold our obligations until early next week, we would prefer to do so.  Even if we try and do routine matters today, it might prove heavy going.  Our mind and our intentions just are not there.  No, summer is upon us, and we want to engage the pleasures of summertime with good friends, socializing and enjoying ourselves.  No matter whether we attend to our usual involvements, highly unlikely, the evening is prime for a romantic and engaging evening.  After surfing the tsunami-like waves of the recent past that may have raised anxiety levels, this weekend allows us to step away from so-called reality and engage our own fantastic world of good times with good friends.

Saturday, May 24th – And So it Begins – Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Pluto, Sun, Mercury, Uranus, Saturn Aries.  Saturday has the Aries Moon sextile Jupiter.  The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost six hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Aries and before the Moon enters Taurus where today the Taurus Moon squares Pluto in the evening.  The Moon triggers a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Taurus Moon square Pluto in Aquarius today, and the Taurus Moon square Mars in Leo tomorrow.  The Sun trines Pluto and Mercury conjuncts Uranus.  Saturn exits Pisces to enter Aries [11:35 PM EDT] creating a Stellium in the Cardinal Fire Sign as Saturn joins Venus and Neptune in Aries.  We may awaken on Saturday pumped to spread our wings and soar with the eagles.  We can be feeling upbeat and ready to expand our activities.  Whether we go traveling or participate in recreational activities, this is a day when we need to be wary that we don’t overdo.  Unexpected situations could arise, so it would be wise for us to be attentive to whatever is going on around us and have contingency plans in mind should we need to alter our intended course of action.  We may be intent on doing what we want to do and the way we want to do it.  The evening might have significant shifts and turns with the liability of excessive expenditures or the sense of being blocked.  Even relationships can get a little dicey this evening with someone getting stubborn and pigheaded and unwilling to accommodate other people’s concerns.  Saturn’s entry into Aries begins a new thirty-year cycle, with new beginnings.  Saturn is in its Fall in Aries.  Much of the narcissism and self-importance of recent years may need to be toned down, or we could suffer the consequences of self-absorption and arrogance.  We are being asked to grow up, become more mature and responsible for our actions.  While we all have an individual personal destiny, the choices we make along the way determine whether we can advance easily forward or stumble and fall from our ignorance and lack of accountability.  Increasingly, we can start new projects and develop new interests that truly speak to us and allow us to put our individual mark on our involvements. But we also need to recognize that each of us has our own dreams, our own definition of self-realization, and our own sense of what we consider true success to be.  Today starts a cycle of new beginnings.

Sunday, May 25th – Here Comes Summer – Mars, Mercury, Saturn, Mercury Gemini.  Sunday continues with the Taurus Moon with the Moon today square Mars in Leo, completing the Fixed Sign T-Square with the Taurus Moon square Pluto in Aquarius yesterday, and the Taurus Moon square Mars in Leo today.  Late in the day, Mercury exits Taurus to enter its own Sign of Gemini [8:59 PM EDT], creating a Stellium in the Mutable Air Sign as Mercury joins the Sun and Jupiter in Gemini.  We now have two Stelliums, one in Air, the other in Fire, both triggering an emphasis on the proactive, masculine Signs, and both Signs sextile each other, a characteristic shown today by Mercury sextile Saturn.  This is Memorial Day weekend in the US, the long holiday weekend that is considered the unofficial start to the summer season.  We may be feeling our oats, wanting to get out and about, but we also need to be mindful of our finances.  There can be a liability of spending too much, whether the costs of things have increased, or we become oblivious to the expense and focus solely on what we want to have and what we want to do.   We may feel a squeeze on our resources, and it would be wise to heed the age-old affirmation of ‘moderation in all things.’  We are more likely to want to blowout in celebration our coming into the first ‘summer’ weekend, but increasingly we are being asked to be responsible and accountable for our actions.
