The astrology for this week of March 14th through the 20th of 2022 may have us feeling in a muddle with things shifting and changing unexpectedly until we hit the Virgo Full Moon at the end of the week and the advent of the Spring season later in the weekend.
The first two days of the week may have us feeling like we’re walking on eggshells with explosive energies erupting at any moment. Blockages to our pathway will not be tolerated no matter who or what stand in our way. While our sense of personal power may be thwarted, either by a lack of appreciation for our abilities or by our unwillingness to fall in line with collective opinion, we need to pick our battles and to assert ourselves when the force is with us. Monday and Tuesday are unlikely to have the force with us. We may just have to grin and bear the frustrations and the delays, recognizing that we are coming to the end of a cycle, the end of the astrological year, before we begin the new astrological year on Sunday when the transiting Sun exits Pisces to enter Aries at the Vernal Equinox and the beginning of the spring season.
The mid-week period could have us moody and highly emotional. Either we are liable to be harshly judged by people or we may be the judge, jury and executioner of other people. Cutting a great deal of slack and avoiding any rush to judgment would be advised.
A surprising development could occur on St. Patrick’s Day. It may not be as awe-inspiring as driving the snakes out of Ireland, but surprising developments might make us aware of the magic and mini-miracles of these times. We shall need to balance our sensitivity with practicality, a balancing act even more profound at the time of the Virgo Full Moon on Friday.
The end of the week and the weekend are good times to complete matters and resolve issues. We might find our relationships to be like a weathervane, whichever way the wind blows. Unexpected characteristics of someone can have us wondering whether we are doing the dance with Jekyll or with Hyde. Each of us has our own opinions and even if we are surprised by someone’s viewpoint on a certain matter, it would be wise not to stir up trouble. Disagreements can create chasms to the point of dissolution of connections.
Spring is upon us as we come into Sunday, so let’s focus more on the promise of the future rather than the problems of the past, and be certain to look for the silver lining in all that is going on.
Monday, March 14th – Bogged Down – Lunar T-Square, Mars, Venus, Uranus. The beginning of this week could be slow going, if going at all. Our nemesis of last year of the Saturn Uranus square is engaged by the Leo Moon square Uranus today, and the Moon opposed Saturn tomorrow. Monday has a Lunar T-Square in the Fixed Signs with the Leo Moon square Uranus in Taurus and the Moon opposed both Mars and Venus both in Aquarius. We may be champing at the bit to get on with things but thwarted at every turn. We have to watch our anger level and embrace instead the British wartime slogan of “Keep Calm and Carry On”. Either by other people’s involvements or by a certain stagnation of situations, we could feel bogged down today, and we need to keep a lid on our anger. Planning rather than implementing may be a better way to go today. If we try to push too hard, we might experience a pushback. We can even feel as though we are taking one step forward, only to have to retreat and take two steps back. We are also liable to assume that our future goals and projects are being daunted by the skyrocketing costs of… everything. Even if the inflationary shock has already set in, our experience in purchasing anything could make us aware of the interrelatedness of costs with no end in sight to the explosive inflationary pressures now and in the foreseeable future. These times demand awareness and responsibility in our actions and our decisions and a detachment from the frenzy in the world-at-large.
Tuesday, March 15th – Straining Against the Tides – Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course. The Moon continues its transit of Leo with the Moon opposed Saturn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for eighteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before the Moon enters Virgo early Wednesday morning. Yesterday and today had the Moon triggering last year’s nemesis of the Saturn Uranus square. Once again, we might have felt that we entered the Fun House, which has not been too much fun. Restraints upon our activities and our initiations of new trajectories could challenge us. We might feel emotionally exhausted from our straining against the tides. Although we might have tried to move forward with both our plans and our responsibilities, yesterday and today are better served by waiting for the energy to shift and change to a more propitious time to get things done. While we might prefer someone from our Mutual Admiration Society to encourage us, yesterday and today are more likely to find us dealing with naysayers. It’s important to recognize everyone being on their last nerve. Even the slightest irritant can seem like a provocation and unleash a great deal of negativity. During these disruptive, tumultuous and challenging times, we might want to take to heart the words of the Charlie Chaplin composed song Smile:

Wednesday, March 16th – Slow Going – Mercury, Uranus. The Moon enters Virgo early on this Wednesday but makes no connections to the planets until late in the day when the Moon opposes Mercury and the Moon trines Uranus. The day may be slow starting and slow going, and it would be wise for us to attend to the various particulars of our lives. Late in the day, we have an opportunity to witness, experience or feel the changing times of our paradigm shift. No matter how much we try to decipher situations, whether on a global level or a personal level, we are liable to be thinking from emotion rather than critical analysis. We may also be lacking important factors that could determine the trajectory of the various situations. We can scrutinize matters, but there could be some unanticipated variables that we are not privy to and just not able to take into account. Add to this conundrum our society’s present tenor of post modernism where the subjective becomes the objective, and it seems all facts are presented and tainted by a commentary bias. What we see is not what we often get. What we hear or what we learn can be an opinion rather than an infallible fact. While our old mindset might be fallible, we are also experiencing ‘ah-ha’ moments, times of revelation, where the truth comes shining through. Whether consciously or unconsciously, each of us has become more aware and better able to cut through the haze of ‘spin’, hype and objective falsities. It’s just surprising that some people still try to put one over on us when transparency is far clearer now than ever before. Even if we feel confused by situations in the evening, clarity can come in startling revelations shortly thereafter.
Thursday, March 17th – Banishing Snakes, Clearing Cobwebs – Jupiter, Neptune, Mercury, Uranus. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday have the Virgo Moon opposing the different planets transiting Pisces. Yesterday, we had the Moon opposed Mercury. Today, we have the Virgo Moon opposed both Jupiter and Neptune, and the Virgo Moon completes its opposition to the Pisces-transiting planets tomorrow with the Virgo Full Moon when the Moon opposes the Pisces Sun. This Thursday also has Mercury sextile Uranus. The challenge for us today is not to allow our compassion to be guided by maudlin sentimentality. Over the recent past, we have been subjected to the daily virus death count, the weekend killing sprees in Chicago, the homeless situation in this affluent country, the hunger problem [now fashionably and antiseptically referred to as ‘food insecurity’], and now the Russia incursion in Ukraine. With the Stellium of four planets in the Mutable Water Sign, our emotions are ratcheted up significantly. This Thursday is St. Patrick’s Day, the celebration of the patron saint of Ireland who is said to have banished the snakes from Ireland. Apart from enjoying a healthy portion of corned beef, cabbage, and boiled potatoes with a pint or two of Guinness, we can celebrate this day by cleaning the cobwebs from our mindset. The Mercury sextile Uranus is primed for us to do so. Insights and understandings that may be beyond our usual comprehension can shed a light on the dark recesses of our mind, clear the ‘wrong’ thinking we may have previously engaged, and provide a light for greater illumination and insight into what is truly going on. Let’s keep our antennae up, for we might experience surprising news, hear about exciting developments, and can be more aware of the true trajectory of these times. Magic is in the air, mini-miracles likely to be evident.
Friday, March 18th – Integrated and Focused on the Essential, If We Choose – Virgo Full Moon, Sun, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course. Friday has the Virgo Full Moon with the Moon opposed the Sun. The Moon trines Pluto, and then the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over three hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon enters Libra. The Sun sextiles Pluto. This Virgo Full Moon is a highly powerful energy configuration thanks to the involvement with Pluto. Dramatic changes can occur with an emphasis on clearing away elements of the past and the debris of the outmoded. Whether we choose to rid ourselves of things that no longer matter to us or the universe steps in and rips certain things away from us, this can be a highly transformative day. Under the stress and strain of rising costs of just about everything, many of us may have to develop a financial budget to which we commit strict adherence. This is a time of the spiritual warrior in each of us to step forward and pledge to be the best we can be by embracing our integrity and engaging ‘right’ action. There is no need for us to replicate the biblical Sodom and Gomorrah when we have free will and choice in our involvements, attitudes, and expressions. We have all had an opportunity to go through a major transformation, and this Full Moon could show the indications of our dramatic and significant changes from whom we have been to who we are in process of being.
Saturday, March 19th – Good Times with the Right Friends – Mars, Venus, Saturn, Uranus. The past three days had the Moon transiting Virgo and opposing the different four planets transiting Pisces. This could have made for a tug-of-war between our heart ruling our head or just an emotional mess where we were dumbfounded by the ways that things have so drastically changed over the past two years. This Saturday has the Libra Moon trining the three Aquarius-transiting planets of Mars, Venus, Saturn. Venus squares Uranus. Although the landscape in which we find ourselves may have drastically altered over the past two years, we still have good friends with whom we can have good times. Getting together with other people or with that special someone today may be scintillating. There could be a hiccup with someone today. Let’s recognize that a social divide has occurred over some of the various issues we are confronting as a society. People may be adamant in their opinion and in the process draw a line in the sand whereby ‘either you’re with me or you’re agin’ me’. Relationships with those stuck in their opinion different from our own could prove dicey. Certain interactions might even have unpleasant surprises. Let’s try to enjoy ourselves, avoid engaging in harsh discourse, and just look for good times with the right friends.
Sunday, March 20th – Promise of Spring – Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Vernal Equinox, Sun Aries. Sunday has the Libra Moon square Pluto. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for three hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio. The Sun exits Pisces to enter Aries [11:33 AM EDT] at the Vernal Equinox and the start of the spring season and the beginning of a new astrology year. HAPPY NEW YEAR. Although we may have certain obligations to attend to, we might prefer blowing them off today. It’s spring with its promise of rebirth, renewal, the renaissance. We can all hope and pray that life gets back on track, that the rebirthing in nature can serve as a reminder for our society and for each of us as individuals of new beginnings, new directions and the divine design we see in nature with the budding of the tress, blossoming of the flowers, the births of the baby animals — the great awakening that occurs with every spring. We too can have a great awakening and resolve to shine our light for all to see. Let’s use this day in celebration of all that it promises with the realization that life is continually a blank slate on which we can draw and paint whatever we choose.
