The astrology for this week of June 17th through the 23rd of 2024 sees a major shift from running around to homeward bound.
The week has the energy shifting from a Gemini Stellium of four planets in the Mutable Air Sign to a Stellium in Cancer as Venus, Mercury and then the Sun at the Summer Solstice enter the Cardinal Water Sign and officially engage the summer season.
Before Mercury and the Sun enter Cancer, they both square Neptune adding to the liability of confusion and / or deception. Fantasies are all well and good in concept but could prove deadly in implementation.
This week asks us to maintain clarity amidst the kaleidoscope of various events and projections. This is a week when what we see might not be what we get. It will be essential that we don’t jump at first impressions but rather take the time to fully vet whatever seems to be going on.
The official start to the summer season begins on Thursday at the Summer Solstice as the Sun exits Gemini to enter Cancer, followed on Friday by the Capricorn Full Moon.
The weekend may be better suited to taking care of business, attending to routine matters, and getting ourselves in gear for the summer more than enjoying fun and games.
Monday, June 17th – Land of Make Believe – Mercury, Venus, Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Mars, Neptune, Venus Cancer, Mercury Cancer. Monday begins this week with the Libra Moon trine Mercury in the early morning hours. The Moon then moves into Scorpio where the Scorpio Moon first trines Venus, which has just exited Gemini to enter Cancer [2:20 AM EDT]. The Moon triggers a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Scorpio Moon square Pluto in Aquarius and the Moon opposed Mars. Mercury squares Neptune before Mercury exits its own Sign of Gemini to enter Cancer [5:07 AM EDT]. Both planets now in Cancer, Mercury conjuncts Venus. This day may start off pleasantly enough but with the liability of illusions and delusions. Although we can imagine greased wheels, smooth sailing, and an easy trajectory to whatever we have planned, nice concept but might not prove to be our reality. As the saying goes: “the pathway to hell is paved with good intentions.” We could be acting out, or prone to, the truth to that statement. We might find ourselves blocked, frustrated, and stymied at virtually every turn. Perhaps we don’t have the resources to carry out our grand schemes, or the costs involved may prove too great an expense. This is a day for us to stay grounded, focused, and practical in whatever we do. Even if we have our head in the clouds, it is essential that we keep our feet on the ground. We could easily get carried away by prospects and possibilities that might only be pipedreams or impossible to be realized.
Tuesday, June 18th – Getting Serious – Saturn. Tuesday has the Scorpio Moon trine Saturn. If yesterday had us going off on a wing and a prayer with good intentions but little practicality, this Tuesday allows us to consider a more realistic approach to whatever we plan for the day. We might have to rework some of our yesterday’s efforts, whittle down any excesses we may have incurred, but this Tuesday gives us both the impetus and an intuitive sense to do what is right and in the right way. With the Gemini Stellium of three planets ended yesterday by both Venus and Mercury exiting Gemini to enter Cancer, we can slow things down, draw upon the expertise developed from past experience, and provide solid foundations for our pursuits. We might be increasingly interested in home and family matters and can make plans for reunions, reconnections and getting our base of operations in order. By ridding ourselves of the extraneous and superficial, we may focus our attention on being more effective with less expenditure of energy. Tuesday is a good day for us to listen to the muse, concentrate on the most meaningful, and determine how best to streamline our operations. We can build upon rock and not upon sand in order to have a strong foundation from which to draw upon.
Wednesday, June 19th – Up, Up and Away – Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Jupiter. This Wednesday is somewhat paradoxical with a particular focus the first half and then a wide wingspan the second half. The early morning hours of this Wednesday has the Scorpio Moon opposed Uranus and later the Moon trine Neptune. Mid-day EDT the Moon enters Sagittarius where the Sagittarius Moon sextiles Pluto and the Moon opposes Jupiter to end the day. Unexpected developments could prove costly. Let’s accept expenses we might not have bargained for and rid ourselves of situations that are little more than an emotional drain. If we clear ourselves of clutter, the second half of the day allows us to spread our wings, broaden our reach, all with a concentrated focus and attention to our future endeavors. Even if we are thrown for a loop early in the day, someone can clarify situations that might have been confusing. Suggestions made could provide the right approach, but we do have to be wary that we don’t overexpand or try to take on too much. It would be wise for us to unencumber ourselves early in the day and to have a blank slate to draw upon in the second half of this Wednesday. Let’s keep in mind that the universe does not like a vacuum. By cleaning up and clearing out we provide space for new situations to emerge. We just need to avoid extreme actions of either self-denial or self-indulgence.
Thursday, June 20th – Peaking Sun – Sun, Neptune, Summer Solstice, Sun Cancer. Thursday has no lunar aspects as the Moon continues its transit of Sagittarius. The Sun squares Neptune before the Sun exits Gemini to enter Cancer [4:51 PM EDT] at the Summer Solstice and the official start of the summer season. In the northern latitudes, the Sun is at its greatest height with the longest day of daylight. From here the length of daylight diminishes until the Winter Solstice in December. The confusion we may have experienced over the past few days could crescendo on this Thursday. Whether fatigue, exhaustion, or self-doubt plague us, we might feel tentative about things and question as to where we are headed. Late in the day, the Sun’s entry into Cancer triggers a Stellium in the Cardinal Water Sign as the Sun joins Venus and Mercury in Cancer. Much of our energy can now revolve around home and family. The comforts of home could be appealing and even influence our travel plans where we take more of our creature comforts with us rather than traveling with sparse necessities. Many of us may have been out and about and traveling over the past several weeks, but some of us may not tend to stay low, focus on our home, and even take ‘staycations’.
Friday, June 21st – Being Held Back – Saturn, Neptune, Capricorn Full Moon, Sun, Mercury, Mars. Friday has the Sagittarius Moon square both Saturn and Neptune both in Pisces with the Moon square Saturn to begin the day and the Moon square Neptune towards the evening hours just before the Moon exits Sagittarius to enter Capricorn and then triggers the Full Moon [9:08 PM EDT] as the Capricorn Moon opposes the Sun. Mercury sextiles Mars. We may feel our wings are being clipped toward. Certain family responsibilities can impede upon any freewheeling desires we might have. With us coming to the end of the workweek, responsibilities could beckon and demand attention before we engage our weekend. The evening might have us enjoying ourselves a little too much as we seek some form of escapism from what we may have gone through earlier in the week. The Capricorn Full Moon sets the stage for a weekend when our focus may be on practical accomplishments, home projects and obligations that we had not resolved previously. Friday and the weekend are suited to home projects and taking care of outstanding matters.
Saturday, June 22nd – Projects – Venus, Mars, Mercury. Saturday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon opposed Venus early in the day, the Moon trine Mars midday, and the Moon opposed Mercury in the afternoon. Comparable to last evening’s Full Moon, today suggests a balancing act between home and family obligations and our routine responsibilities. This weekend is largely geared to getting things done, taking care of home projects, and dealing with outstanding matters. If we would draw upon strategic planning, we could accomplish a great amount today. Now is not a day for fun and games but rather doing what needs to get done. We may take on a rather serious mood with a great deal of our attention to fixing things up, making things look nice, and creating a functional environment for ourselves. This Saturday is the 22nd, a Master Number in numerology that indicates the Master Builder, a day that is very much in tune with today’s astrological energies of squaring things away.
Sunday, June 23rd – Topping Off – Saturn, Uranus, Neptune. Sunday has the Moon finishing its transit of Capricorn with the Capricorn Moon sextile Saturn early in the day, and the Moon trine Uranus in the afternoon, and the Moon sextile Neptune late in the day. Sunday ends with the Moon moving into Aquarius. Our mind is geared to completion on this Sunday. Friday night through Sunday could prove highly productive. Whatever projects we might have engaged this weekend we can bring successful conclusion to them and use the latter part of the day to do something thrilling and exciting, which after a focused weekend we richly deserve. This Sunday tops off what can be a practical and highly effective weekend of getting things done.
