The astrology for this week of January 22nd through the 28th of 2024 can have us more interested in our future than our present with all the possible liabilities of illusory formulations without practical implementations.
We could start the week with an edge on, irritable about our realities all the while yearning for some ticket to ride into an idyllic future. Our imagination can run rampant with us determined to have what we want the way that we want it.
With Venus exiting Sagittarius to enter Capricorn early in the week, we lose any of the Fire Element. Our push and drive to make our perceived future a reality can be lost, as we plod along hoping for things to turn and for some magic wand to make things right.
The stirring of peoples’ discomfort may be seen in increasing protests to the antics of the powers-that-be. The entry of Pluto into Aquarius this past weekend is heralding a new era in society, a phase when the traditional institutions and the social caste systems of the one percenters on top are threatened by the discomfort and distaste of the general populace. Pitchforks and torches may not be coming, but the volatility of these times might be ratcheted up as people express their disdain for the apparent incompetence and corruption of the powers-that-be.
The Full Moon on Thursday raises the question of the balance between the individual and the collective. A general sense of the need for a major cleanse in social formats with ‘out with the old, in with the new’ might be indicated.
The extremes of a growing populist movement in various nations could be countered with increasingly authoritarian and restrictive measures of the old guard. Cracks in the seams of society’s cohesiveness may be evident with an increasing divisiveness between the lions and the lambs.
Modulation and patience are called for this week. The tendency to push the envelope and accomplish our goals without considering the circumstances in which we are operating can trigger nasty pushbacks.
Although the workweek could have wild swings of dramatic incidents, the weekend can settle things down, provide a more conducive time for things to occur in the most inexplicable manner, and allow us to be more productive by working in accord with the energies rather than trying to force matters to our will.
After a week with bumpy roads to traverse, the weekend ends with things fitting neatly into place.
Monday, January 22nd – Helter Skelter – Lunar T-Square, Neptune, Venus. Monday begins the week with the Moon finishing its transit of Gemini with the Gemini Moon today triggering a Mutable Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Neptune and the Moon opposes Venus. Late in the day, the Moon exits Gemini to enter Cancer. We could be all over the place as we start this week. Although we’re looking for something to captivate our interest and for us to develop a new trajectory, we can easily be seduced by the bright and sparkly without considering the true value of whatever we are chasing after. What we see might not be what we get, but we certainly don’t want to encounter any parade rainers on this Monday. We might be on a quixotic journey to nowhere, but we are unlikely to tolerate any input that doesn’t support our endeavors. People can be slightly irritable today. Even if we’re following our heart’s desires, we could also have a sense that we are on a fool’s quest. Not everything is likely to add up, but that may not stop us from venturing forth. Even if we exhaust ourselves in an impossible quest today, we can get a better grip on things later in the week.
Tuesday, January 23rd – Easy Flowing Before the Demands – Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Venus Capricorn. Tuesday has the Cancer Moon trine Saturn and the Moon sextile Jupiter early in the day. Later in the day, the Cancer Moon opposes both Mercury and Mars. Venus exits Sagittarius to enter Capricorn [3:50 AM EST] losing any Fire influence and triggering a Stellium in the Cardinal Earth Sign as Venus joins Mercury and Mars in Capricorn. We can get our house in order early in the day. Taking the time to plan out our activities for the day would make much of this day easy flowing. We could accomplish a great amount today if we strategize, devise a best practices approach, and take things step by step. We do need to avoid taking on too much with the recognition that while we may be highly productive early in the day, demands might be placed upon us later in the day. Our relationships can shift from fun-loving, exhilarating interactions into cooler, more serious connections with a feeling of our contacts needing to serve some significant purpose in benefitting our ambitions. The latter part of the day can have us becoming more secretive, dealing with our responsibilities, and seeing what we can bring to conclusion to lighten our load.
Wednesday, January 24th – Twists and Turns – Uranus, Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course. Wednesday begins with the Cancer Moon sextile Uranus. Later in the day, the Moon sextiles Neptune. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over eight and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Cancer and before the Moon enters Leo early on Thursday morning. One of the things we have experienced repeatedly is the Moon triggering the three transcendental planets of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. The Moon is in harmonious aspect of the first two today and aspects Pluto tomorrow. We are in a paradigm shift where things can occur in the most unexpected manner. And it may be so on this Wednesday. The day begins with surprising developments, the possibility of easing our way or even changing our trajectory. Although we have been conditioned in western society to make things happen, this day suggests we accept a receptive approach and be open to altering our plans in case of changing circumstance. We have the opportunity of seeing the magic in the moment, those mini-miracles where things seem to occur positively and without much effort on our part, our only effort called for in being open and receptive that the universe might have a better way than the course we had intended. By getting quiet and heeding any signs along the way, this Wednesday can be an exciting time, perhaps not earth shaking but incidents that can put a smile on our face. We might even find our faith restored and renewed in contrast to feeling overwhelmed by much of the goings-on in the world-at-large.
Thursday, January 25th – Individual Will or the Greater Good – Leo Full Moon, Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Sun, Jupiter. Thursday has the Moon entering Leo with the Moon triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square in orb at the Full Moon when the Moon opposes the Sun [12:54 PM EST] and the Moon in opposition to Pluto and the Moon square Jupiter in Taurus. This day could prove one intense day, and it would be wise for us to walk on eggshells to avoid any explosive behavior. The task for each of us may be the question of balance between our own individual needs and wants and those of the collective, the greater good. People can be adamant in what they want, and willing to go to any lengths to reach their desired outcome. Our desires may know no bounds with a liability of spending too much or our being overly aggressive. We need to be judicious in our expenditures, for we could easily put a major dent in our finances by our purchases and excessive costs. Like a volcano percolating below the surface and then erupting, we too are liable to vent, letting loose with our frustrations and our anger. Why role play Lord of the Flies when we can take a more mature approach and determine what is both good for oneself and for the collective? Always a question of balance made more difficult by the wild swings during these volatile times.
Friday, January 26th – Not the Way – Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course. Friday continues with the Leo Moon but without much activity until the Moon squares Uranus later in the day. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for twenty-two hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Leo and before the Moon enters Virgo on Saturday. Uranus will turn direct early on Saturday, and like any turn of planetary motion, things can get squirrely with a sense that the solid earth beneath our feet is far more fluid and spongy than secure and stable. This Friday feels the influence of yesterday’s Full Moon and the Fixed Sign T-Square. Things may take longer than we would like. Whatever our intentions for this day might be, unexpected developments could wreak havoc with our plans. This is one of those days when we might need to accede to the idea that the universe has greater plans for us than we can conceive for ourselves. As the saying goes: “If you want to make god laugh, tell god your plans.” We might feel thrown off track later this Friday, and it would be wise for us to be alert and vigilant to surprising situations arising that could alter our trajectory for the evening.
Saturday, January 27th – Turn, Turn, Turn – Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Uranus direct. Saturday begins with the Moon still Void-of-Course making no connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo. The Moon enters Virgo but makes no aspects to the planets today. The Sun squares Jupiter, Mercury conjuncts Mars, and Uranus turns direct [2:35 AM EST]. We may want to get on with things on this Saturday, but something might arise that we had not counted on, forces us to put our plans on hold and something that demands we attend to. This is a day for us to be on our toes alert to changes in circumstance and adaptable to whatever shifting conditions might occur. If we ‘don’t rush the river’, then we can strategically plan our course of action, recognizing that certain variables may have shifted or been added to the mix. Let’s not determine long-term commitments, since all the particulars of any project might not yet be evident. While we might want to buy new software programs or equipment to benefit our goals, this is not a day for us to invest in technology. With Uranus, a planet that rules computer and high tech, turning direct, we might experience Internet, computer, and air travel issues. It is far better for us to plan in pencil with a large eraser than to forge ahead determined but with blinders on and unaware as to what is really happening.
Sunday, January 28th – In High Gear – Saturn, Lunar Grand Trine, Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Uranus. Sunday has the Virgo Moon opposed Saturn to start the day followed by the Moon triggering an Earth Grand Trine as the Virgo Moon trines Venus in Capricorn and the Moon trines Jupiter in Taurus. Venus sextiles Saturn, Mercury trines Uranus, and Venus trines Jupiter. A kite pattern chart is created with the Earth Grand Trine and Saturn sextile the Venus in Capricorn and Saturn sextile by orb Jupiter in Taurus. A kite is evident in the signature. This is one action-packed, high-energy day when everything seems to come together in a positive, easy, and greased wheels kinds of way. Our sleep state may be restless as our thoughts and dreams revolve around the cornucopia of opportunities and / or challenges we are likely to face. We could be highly productive on this Sunday, get a great amount done, and feel inspired in doing so. There is magic in the air that we can ground and use in our endeavors. ‘Ah-ha’ moments of insights may reveal the most expeditious means by which we are able to achieve successful results. Not a day to waste or to miss, for such sublime energy configurations are special occasions that occur infrequently. Let’s celebrate and enjoy our good fortune.
