The astrology for this week of February 13th through the 19th of 2023 may seem almost idyllic with a few bumps in the road, but we have to question ourselves as to whether we have tuned into some Fantasyland, lovely but unlikely.
The week begins with our sensitivity intensified. We may be in our own little world, a world where they like us. Unfortunately, dealings with other people might not be quite so serene. With everyone having an edge on recently, willing to rush to judgment and civility seeming a long, lost art, we have to be cautious in our interactions with people. Everyone might be adamant in their own personal opinion and unwilling to brook any alternate viewpoint. Either we engage in a heated discussion or we keep our thoughts to ourselves.
Valentine’s Day on Tuesday can be pleasant as long as we lower our expectations.
As the week unfolds, we are likely to feel upbeat, expansive and looking to stretch beyond our limitations. While we could be inspired with a belief that everything will work out the way we wish it to, reality and fantasy might be in a tug-of-war.
Even if we go far out on a limb based solely on a wing and a prayer, a strong dose of practical reality is liable to pull us out of our reveries and force us to deal with the true circumstances and conditions in which we find ourselves.
The end of the week gives us the impetus to be more effective with less expenditure of energy. Considering our options and alternatives, we could come up with a best practices approach to deal successfully with both our outstanding issues and our greatest ambitions.
The weekend has the Sun exiting Aquarius to enter Pisces. The Aquarius Stellium ends, and a Pisces Stellium is triggered as the Sun joins Venus and Neptune in the Mutable Water Sign. The Sun moves into the last Sign of the Zodiac with many of us eagerly anticipating the astrological new year with the Vernal Equinox and the Sun moving into Aries next month.
This is a week for us to appreciate all the blessings in our world. We can have our head in the clouds, but we need to keep our feet firmly planted on the ground.
Monday, February 13th – Own Little World – Venus, Neptune, Sun, Saturn, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course. Monday has the Scorpio Moon with the Moon today trine both Venus and Neptune both in Pisces and the Moon square both the Sun and Saturn both in Aquarius. The Moon sextiles Pluto before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for an hour and a half with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius at the end of the day. Many of us may be coming off the Super Bowl weekend celebrations and feeling the after-effects of all the hoopla. This could be a slow starting day and one when we might prefer to just phone it in rather than deal in person with other people. Unless we shut ourselves off, this day could be consumed with highlights of the weekend, plans for the future, and various other distractions that keep us from being productive. Late in the day, we are likely to prioritize what we needed to get done on this Monday and what we need to get done tomorrow and the rest of the week. This Monday can prove the truth to the saying: “why do today what we can put off until tomorrow?”
Tuesday, February 14th – Bouncing from One Thing to Another -Mercury, Jupiter, Mars. Tuesday is Valentine’s Day. Talk about bouncing from one thing to another. We had Super Bowl weekend this past weekend, may have needed Monday to recover from all the weekend excitement, and this Tuesday can have us concentrating on our personal relationships with Valentine’s Day. The Sagittarius Moon today sextiles Mercury, the Moon trines Jupiter, and the Moon opposes Mars at the end of the day. We may be feeling upbeat, expressing our appreciation for one and all, and generous to a fault. Yes, the Mutual Admiration Society is in session with everyone putting a smiley face on their interactions with other people. We just have to be wary of excess in our expenditures and in our desire to show ourselves off in the very best light. Too much of a good thing could prove too much as we come into the evening. Narcissism might rear its ugly head as relationships devolve into a tug-of-war between our personal interests and those of another person. We may be too interested in doing what we want to do with an assumption of our deserving our personal wishes due to our earlier generosity in its many forms. A battle of wills may ensue, and all the efforts made earlier in the day could prove for naught. This is a day that calls for balance and avoiding extremes and excess all in pursuit of expressing and engaging good cheer.
Wednesday, February 15th – Idyllic or Delusional – Neptune, Venus, Sun, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course. Wednesday continues with the Sagittarius Moon with the Moon today square both Neptune and Venus both in Pisces, and the Moon sextile both the Sun and Saturn both in Aquarius. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for four hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn to begin Thursday morning. Venus conjuncts Neptune. Similar to musical octaves, the three outer transcendental planets in astrology represent a higher octave of three of the traditional, ancient planets. Neptune is a higher octave of Venus where love and the aesthetic moves to a higher octave of perfect, pure love and an ethereal appreciation of the symphony of the spheres. This is a day when our perspective may be based more upon our hopes and wishes, what we wish to see, rather than the empirical, factual conditions that are operating. We could easily be snookered today by our own self-importance and self-aggrandizement. Despite our looking through rose-colored glasses, what we see may not be what we get. This day might allow us to meander through idyllic fields or get ensnared by various bear traps. Caution and due diligence are called for. Before we make any solid or definitive commitment today, it would be wise for us to draw upon a trusted confidante as a sounding board and with their objective perspective a greater ability to separate fiction from fact.
Thursday, February 16th – All Fall Down – Jupiter, Sun, Saturn. Thursday has the Moon moving into Capricorn with the Capricorn Moon today square Jupiter in Aries. The Sun conjuncts Saturn. One of the issues each of us faces is the question of balance. During these tumultuous times when we try to maintain balance on what feel like storm-tossed seas, our ability to be adaptable and flexible, ‘to bend like a reed or break like an oak’ often has us veering from side to side until we can establish equilibrium. After a week when we could easily have let down our guard, meandered off into la-la-land, and forgotten the need to keep alert and maintain constant vigilance, this Thursday could have us hitting the wall. Our greatest intentions might seem blocked by reality, and we can feel as though our enthusiasm and our goals are but castles in the air, great in concept but unrealizable in practice. This is a day when we may counter opposition to our plans either by the conditions or by a well-intended naysayer. If things seem to go through a crash and burn today with us stymied at every move, let’s keep in mind the Greek mythological bird, the phoenix, rising from its ashes to soar ever higher. During this paradigm shift, things can change instantly and dramatically. If need be, let’s use this day to regroup, not take anything personally, and to ‘pick yourself up, take a deep breath, dust yourself off and start all over again’. This Thursday could be a day for us to wait for a more auspicious time.
Friday, February 17th – When the Student is Ready – Uranus, Neptune, Venus, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Jupiter. Friday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today trine Uranus, the Moon sextile both Neptune and Venus both in Pisces, and the Moon conjunct Pluto at the end of the day. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over an hour with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius as we come into Saturday. Mercury sextiles Jupiter. The whipsaws of these times can be quite extreme, evident in the comparison between the energies on Thursday and those of this Friday. If we felt blocked and frustrated yesterday, this Friday could have us soaring with the eagles. There is an old and wise saying that goes: ‘when the student is ready, the teacher appears’. The teacher is not always literally an educator but can be a situation, an incident, an event, and the like — anything that provides us with a significant lesson. This Friday asks us to have our antennae up and be open to exciting, surprising developments. News, suggestions, indications of a different way and a better way might present themselves to us today. If we would blend a practical approach with our intuitive sense and ‘ah-ha’ moments that we are privy to, we could be operating on all cylinders and accomplish a great deal. We might be highly satisfied by what we can do. We just have to avoid being smug about it. Like a metronome, it is important that we try to taper our excesses whereby our extremes are lessened, and we narrow our parameters between exuberance and despair. The Buddhist principle of non-attachment allows us greater control of our state of being, increases our awareness, and heightens our ascension into nirvana. Thursday and Friday might give indications of the whipsaws of our emotions, but the more detached we can be on this Friday, the more likely we are to experience the magic and mini-miracles of this paradigm shift.
Saturday, February 18th – The End Begins – Jupiter, Mercury, Sun Pisces. The Moon enters Aquarius where today the Aquarius Moon sextiles Jupiter and the Moon conjuncts Mercury. The Sun exits Aquarius and enters Pisces [5:34 PM EST]. The Sun’s shift from Aquarius into Pisces also shifts the powerpacks from an Aquarius Stellium of three transiting planets to a Pisces Stellium as the Sun joins Venus and Neptune in the Mutable Water Sign. Our sensitivity and our emotions are liable to heighten, and we have to recognize our enhanced vulnerability to whatever is going on around us. This Saturday does provide an impetus for us to feel upbeat and inspired with a desire to spend quality time with that special someone or the special people in our life. Get-togethers can be fun engagements, especially if we allow spontaneity room to play. No matter what we have planned for this day, we may alter our trajectory with a sense of doing more and spending less time with each encounter. Our thoughts might veer towards our future options, and someone is likely to prove instrumental in fleshing out our prospects. With the Sun’s entry into Pisces, we are a month away from the Vernal Equinox when the Sun moves into Aries starting the astrological new year. Increasingly, even in the ‘dead’ of winter, ‘spring fever’ could set in with a strong sense of endings and impending new beginnings.
Sunday, February 19th – Dark Side – Uranus, Mars, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Pluto. Sunday has the Aquarius Moon square Uranus, the Moon trine Mars, and the Moon conjunct Saturn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for three hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces at the end of the day. Venus sextiles Pluto. We are on the ‘dark side’ of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s New Moon. With our old nemesis of the Saturn Uranus square in play, we might find that we are trying to go too far too fast with little positive result, only spinning our wheels and dodging curveballs. Unexpected situations may thwart our plans on this Sunday, and it would be wise for us to concentrate on bringing things to closure, making our completions, and resolving various issues that would be best left behind. Unencumbering ourselves from weighty obligations might provide a clean slate on which we can draw our future plans without our intentions being tainted by the old and outmoded. We may need to draw upon someone to assist us in letting go of certain matters, for other people do not have the same attachment to our past and the familiar as we do. This would be good day for a pre-spring cleaning with the understanding that as we rid ourselves of stuff, we are liable to open a pandora’s box of feelings and emotions connected to those things that we are throwing out. Social engagements could prove a welcome distraction from any walk down Memory Lane that we take.
