February 8th – 14th, 2021

The astrology for this week of February 8th through the 14th of 2021 highlights the strong Aquarian energy accentuated by the Aquarius New Moon on Thursday highlighting a week of upbeat feelings, envisioning future plans, and engaging pleasant social interactions.

There is a lifting of the weights imposed upon us, all with sleight of hand. Much of the worst may seem behind us as we focus on a threshold crossing into the new paradigm of the Technology Age with streamlined methods and a broader palette of possibilities from which to draw.

This is a week for us to consider limitless possibilities, even though limits might eventually constrain the breadth of our prospects.

The week begins with us in the dead of winter, often felt as a hangover from Super Bowl. Our attention may turn to our goals and our intentions. We can be brimming with ideas fueled by discussions with other people. Many of us could be gazing towards distant horizons, but it is essential that we not lose sight of present reality. This is a time for us to have our head in the clouds and our feet firmly planted on the ground.

The early part of the week has us on the dark side of the Moon prior to Thursday’s Aquarius New Moon. It would be wise for us to address details and particulars. We might prefer mental meanderings to far-off places, but the energy is better suited in the early part of the week to playing catch up with outstanding matters and any pressing needs. Let’s keep in mind that we are dealing in a Mercury retrograde, times when things can be convoluted and that whatever we begin we might have to eventually rework.

There can be some hiccups mid-week if we try to push the envelope with the result being evidence of the old cautionary statement: ‘haste makes waste’.

Our center of attention may be on what appears ahead of us, but we also need to glance in the rearview mirror to see what has been behind us.

While our appetite and enthusiasm can be great, we have to be aware of whether our resources are up to realistically realizing our dreams.

Thursday’s New Moon opens the door for some very pleasant interactions with those special people in our life. Whether we can get together in person or need to reach out by our technological tools, we may be making plans for get-togethers that had been postponed or not even considered during our imposed lockdowns.

The signature of the New Moon on Thursday influences the next two weeks up to the Virgo Full Moon on the 27th. Like children with vast thoughts of wonder-filled adventures, we could be enraptured by our friends, loved ones, and a wide range of achievable opportunities.

There are six planets in Aquarius at the time of Thursday’s New Moon, which also signals the beginning of the Chinese New Year, this year being the year of the yin metal Ox. With eight of the planets in Fixed Signs at the time of the New Moon, we can certainly see stubbornness, rigidity and fixity in play, and at a time when we are in process of building anew.

The imprint for the next two weeks can have us feeling upbeat, optimistic and feeling the love. Everyone may want to accentuate their individuality, their freedom of movement, and the ability to do their own thing. No wing-clippers, please, for this two-week cycle speaks to marching to one’s own drumbeat. All options are likely on the table. Spontaneity and spur-of-the-moment actions could be the hallmark of this lunation cycle.

The weekend seems close to idyllic, and it would be wise for us to fully enjoy ourselves, recharge our batteries and celebrate the goodness in our lives. It’s Valentine’s Day weekend and social gatherings or quality time with that special someone may be inspiring and enlivening. Let’s breathe deeply and fully embrace the goodness of being alive. The weekend might prove both a pleasant relief to life as we have known it and a healthy preparation for the intensity during the next week of mid-February.

Monday, February 8th – With a Little Help from a Friend – Uranus, Mars, Sun, Mercury. Although this is a day after Super Bowl, often a day when we sink into the reality of the doldrums of winter, this Monday can have us brimming with ideas and discussions with someone who proves our best advocate and might even make us aware of innovative means to realize our greatest ambitions. The Moon continues its transit of Capricorn with the Moon trine Uranus to begin the day, and the Moon trine Mars to end the day. The Sun conjuncts Mercury. We can streamline our operations, take a new approach to our mundane matters, and get more accomplished in a shorter period of time than is our usual. With us feeling upbeat and willing to consider all our options, this is a day when things could easily fall into place, as long as we don’t get in our own way by trying to control situations rather than being open to serendipitous encounters. We also need to keep in mind that we are operating under a Mercury retrograde. No jumping to conclusions, but instead a continual evaluation and re-evaluation as we go along. If we don’t get caught up in the exuberance of the moment and would filter out the various possibilities to distill the most significant, we can start to put our spirit into action. With us in the dark side of the Moon prior to Thursday’s New Moon, we might want to avoid jumping ahead of ourselves. Let’s deal with cleaning up messes, reworking situations that might have come unglued, and clear the decks rather than jumping assertively forward.

Tuesday, February 9th – Attentive to Detail – Neptune, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course. Tuesday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today sextile Neptune and the Moon conjunct Pluto. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for eight hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius late in the day. Our intuitive sense may be heightened, and we might just have a feeling about ‘right’ direction and ‘right’ action. This is a day when we can blend our intuitive sense with practical implementation. Yes, this Tuesday allows us to engage our spirit into action. By prioritizing those things that we wish to conclude and resolve, we can deal with the specifics and details without anything falling between the cracks. We might need to have our head down and address mundane matters, but it would allow us to clean up and clear the decks prior to Thursday’s New Moon when we might open the doors to our future. We don’t want to be held back by outstanding matters, and this Tuesday would be a good day for us to pay attention to particulars and not get carried away by future possibilities. Through addressing necessary matters, we can move into the next two-week period with a clean, or at least cleaner, slate to focus on our future without being encumbered by our past.

Wednesday, February 10th – True Headwinds – Saturn, Uranus, Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars. Wednesday has the Moon in Aquarius with the Moon today square Uranus, and the Moon conjunct Saturn, Venus and Jupiter. Mercury squares Mars. One of the conundrums of this year 2021 is the Taurus Aquarius square that goes on through this year and epitomized by the Aquarius Saturn square the Taurus Uranus, the first exact aspect of this year being next Wednesday. The push – pull between old and new is highlighted this year and demands that we recognize the need to address the desire for stability and security all the while that we are crossing the threshold into a new paradigm. Change is scary for many, and our tendency and liability are to hold on to the familiar and be severely resistant to the new, the different, the radical change. We may be more concerned about moving aggressively ahead into new terrain, but we might not be accounting for the strong headwinds we might encounter, headwinds that dispel our sense of things and force us to alter our perspective and adapt to the shifting sands of these times. In what is often referred to as the post-modern world, we have entered a time when the bizarre seems almost commonplace and the surreal a regular phenomenon. While Salvador Dali had a strong fascination with mathematics and science, there was a method to what many might have seen as his madness and a spiritual awakening as he progressed through his life journey. This recognition of universal law and pliant structure can seem lacking at this present time. For each of us, it is essential that we appreciate the transition that leads to transformation but without trying ‘to rush the river’ to our own accord. Life may be radically changing but there are liable to be starts and stops, sideways trajectories, even backups, as we go along. Let’s accept the universal unfolding and try to enjoy the ride, no matter how bumpy it might seem at times.

Thursday, February 11th – New Day Dawning – Mercury, Mars, Aquarius New Moon, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Jupiter. Thursday seems to highlight the new paradigm with the Aquarius New Moon and the possibility of increased evidence of the paradigm shift and our entry into asequential reality where we move from the linear reality of beginning, middle, end, into the asequential reality where things can occur in the most inexplicable and extraordinary ways. This Thursday has the Aquarius Moon conjunct Mercury and the Moon conjunct the Sun at the time of the New Moon [2:00 PM EST]. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost twelve and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces early on Friday morning. The two ‘good guys’ of the planetary realm, Venus and Jupiter, are conjunct on this Thursday. This New Moon influences the next two weeks and has a Stellium of six planets in the Fixed Air Sign of Aquarius. This New Moon also starts the Chinese New Year, this being the year of the Ox. This is the 11th, in numerology a Master Number of the visionary. We continue, as we shall for all of this year, with the Taurus Aquarius square, the battle between the new paradigm and the last gasps of the so-called ‘security’ of our past. A ‘feel good’ quality can have us contacting various people — friends, loved ones, associates and developing prospects for our future adventures. The Sign of freedom, liberty and autonomy, Aquarius calls to each of us to pick up our own drum and beat our drum to our own rhythm, to our own pace. This two-week period may be replete with a multitude of surprises, unexpected situations, and remarkable twists and turns. Let’s just keep in mind that we are now co-creators with the universal unfolding with the acknowledgment that our greatest successes can come with following the cue from the universe, from serendipitous occurrences, and unexpected events. There is a new day dawning.

Friday, February 12th – Awareness with Antennae Up – Uranus. Friday has the Moon entering Pisces with the Pisces Moon sextile Uranus. The New Moon yesterday may have crescendoed with great excitement and hullabaloo. Friday might take the energy down a notch or two or more. We might be far more reflective than expressive today, more contemplative than future focused. This is a day to trust our instincts, go internally, and be receptive to unexpected situations likely to arise. By being mindful and aware, we may have the opportunity to see things from a different perspective and become conscious of alternate means to more easily accomplish our goals. What is important today is for us not to get carried away by euphoria or swept up in the frenzy of these times. As Deepak Chopra has written: “In the midst of movement and chaos, keep still inside of you.” Wise words for us to embrace, for often it is when we are still and receptive, that the answers and insights come to us. ‘Ah-ha’ moments and surprising news could be part of our day. This is a day when we can truly see the magic of these times.

Saturday, February 13th – Ascension of Spirit, Expansion of Consciousness, Effectiveness of Results – Mars, Neptune, Mercury, Venus. Saturday has the Pisces Moon conjunct Neptune, and the Moon sextile Mars. Mercury conjuncts Venus, and Mars sextiles Neptune. A triad of possibilities is likely today where we combine our visualization with practical implementation with acknowledgment and great appreciation from someone. This is Valentine’s Day weekend and a wonderful time for quality time with that special someone or with our loved ones. By listening to our inner voice and through meditation and by quieting our mind we can feel like we are one with the source. This week and especially this weekend provide the impetus for us to see a wide range of variables and prospects for a more self-fulfilling future for ourselves. We can see what could be with an optimism that the ideal can be made manifest. We are moving into a new paradigm but with the old paradigm and old mindset trying to hold strong against the currents of these times. Let’s raise our consciousness, recognize that there is a force greater than our personal selves, and that through our own efforts, through our choice and by our free will we can alter our reality and make our personal world a paradise on earth. Those unable to see will be blind to the opportunities, but each of us has our own personal journey and the chance to carve our own pathway with guidance from the signs of the universal unfolding. These are exciting and dynamic times and allow us to raise our vibration to a higher frequency and in the process an altered consciousness.

Sunday, February 14th – Loving the Love – Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Jupiter. In the early morning hours of Sunday, the Pisces Moon sextiles Pluto. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost eight and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Pisces and before the Moon enters Aries, the first Sign of the Zodiac and indicating a new monthly cycle beginning. Mercury conjuncts Jupiter. Sunday is Valentine’s Day and caps off a week that allowed us glimpses into the possibilities for our future, a future that allows for greater freedom of movement, greater autonomy, and a greater ability to express our own unique creative talents. This Valentine’s Day and weekend provide an upbeat and vibrant energy with glorious conversations with other people, quality time with that special someone or special friends, and gives us a far more positive outlook on life. No matter what seems to be going on in the world-at-large, this week punctuates the feeling that ‘life is good’. Let’s fully embrace the vitality, the exuberance, and the optimism, for next week might prove far more challenging.
