The astrology for this week of August 16th through the 22nd of 2021 could prove a week when ‘the force’ is with us.
This week leading up to the Aquarius Full Moon on Sunday completes the influence of the Leo New Moon with its Fixed Sign T-Square. While we might have felt exhausted and fatigued from the Sisyphus-like actions of trying to move things along only to be delayed, frustrated and taken aback by unexpected situations messing with our plans, persistence and perseverance, flexibility and adaptability could have saved our day[s] and made even the unbearable bearable.
The week begins with Venus exiting Virgo to enter its own Sign of Libra. Relationships can improve, for we are likely more willing to look at the strong attributes in other people rather than focusing on their flaws. We may be more interested in what is going on with other people rather than our own self-interests to the point of self-absorption. We might better appreciate how much our connections add to our own lives.
We now have five of the planets in their Ruling Signs — Sun in Leo, Mercury in Virgo, Venus in Libra, Saturn in Aquarius [traditional ruler], and Neptune in Pisces.
Combine the power of planets in their own Signs with some pleasant aspects between the players, and we have a week when we can be more cooperative, collaborative, and willing to work smarter rather than harder.
The one caveat to the week is arrogance, letting narcissism get in the way with the assumptions that what we want is what we get and the way in which we want it. If we get too full of ourselves or try to take on too much, then all the positive benefits of this week’s energies could be for naught and our endeavors might all fall down.
As we begin the week with Venus entering its own Sign of Libra, we end the week on Sunday with the Aquarius Full Moon followed shortly afterwards with the Sun exiting its own Sign of Leo to enter Virgo. The Stellium in Virgo is re-engaged as the Sun joins Mercury and Mars in the Mercury-ruled Mutable Earth Sign.
This is a week for us to get back on track with our regular routine and make great headway with our projects and our plans, the craziness in the world-at-large notwithstanding.
Monday, August 16th – Measure Twice, Cut Once – Mercury, Saturn, Mars, Venus Libra. The Moon continues its transit of Sagittarius with the Moon today sextile Saturn and the Moon square both Mercury and Mars both in Virgo. Venus exits Virgo to enter its own Sign of Libra [12:27 AM EDT]. Today demands due diligence, which could be lacking. We might be more interested in that which lies far beyond our reach, and in the process pay scant attention to our responsibilities and gloss over the details. This is one of those days when ‘haste makes waste’. If we are not going to do things properly and effectively, why bother? We could prefer reaching out to other people, engaging conversations, and enjoying the company of others. With Venus entering Libra we are less critical of our relationships and more in need of companionship and camaraderie. If we need to get things done today, it would be wise to schedule our day with time management skills so that we plan for dealing with our obligations and also include enough time to get together with someone socially. The balance between work and play is an important one, and one that we might need to exercise on this Monday.
Tuesday, August 17th – All This and More – Neptune, Sun, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course. Tuesday continues with the Sagittarius Moon with the Moon today square Neptune, the Moon trine the Sun, and the Moon sextile Jupiter. Late in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for four hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn early Wednesday morning. With a sense that the summer season is slip, sliding away and with a certain remorse that this summer might not have measured up to what we had hoped for, we might choose to put out the ‘gone fishing’ sign to enjoy ourselves and have some last minute summer fun. We know the return to ‘normal’ activities, whatever the new ‘normal’ might be, is awaiting us and fast approaching. All the more reason for this Tuesday to be one when we choose to go for all the gusto. This Tuesday could have us beginning with a wide assortment of activities we can pursue. Whatever we enjoy and whatever puts a smile on our face, we are likely to take part in. Despite a liable confusion as to where to put our attention, once we get going, we might go into overdrive. We may be upbeat, confident and optimistic as we put our personal imprint upon our own activities and make plans for future involvements. We do have to be wary of excess whether in our spending, taking on too much, or physically exhausting ourselves. But we’re still in summer, looking for some good times, especially since we might be sorely tired of the summertime blues.
Wednesday, August 18th – Moving Mountains – Venus, Mars, Mercury. We might have gotten carried away into the realm of all sorts of possibilities yesterday with our head in the clouds. If we did, then this Wednesday helps us to get out feet back on the ground. The Moon moves into Capricorn where today the Moon squares Venus, and the Moon sextiles both Mercury and Mars both in Virgo. Mercury conjuncts Mars. The Capricorn Moon triggers a Grand Trine in the Earth Element with the Moon trine the two Virgo-transiting planets today, and tomorrow the Moon conjunct Pluto and the Moon trine Uranus in Taurus. Wednesday into Friday can be highly productive days, days when we can accomplish a great deal in the most expeditious ways. We just have to be wary of not getting sidetracked by someone’s needs. By combining brain and brawn today, we could virtually move mountains over these next three days. Hopefully, we took some, if not all, of Tuesday to recharge, refresh and refuel. Today into Friday are days when we can put the pedal to the metal and through persistence and perseverance and with well-developed strategy and innovative means, we could virtually move mountains and accomplish more than most people would assume to be humanly possible. Thomas Edison back in 1932 said that “genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nice percent perspiration.” Of course, that was then, this is now, and our now allows us to draw upon technology and skills that were not available during the early part of this past century. It was also a different paradigm whereas we are going through a paradigm shift out of linear, sequential reality into asequential reality where things can occur in the most inexplicable manner. Let’s move mountains over these next three days!
Thursday, August 19th – Not to Get Ahead of Ourselves – Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Jupiter, Uranus retrograde. Thursday continues with the Capricorn Moon and the influence of an Earth Grand Trine. Yesterday the Capricorn Moon was trine the two Virgo-transiting planets. Today, the Moon conjuncts Pluto and the Moon trines Uranus in Taurus. The Moon also sextiles Neptune. Late in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost nine hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius on Friday morning. The Sun opposes Jupiter, and Uranus turns retrograde [9:40 PM EDT]. Creative visualization allows us to do a ‘dress rehearsal’ of our plans, imagining what we wish to accomplish and considering in detail the best means to achieve successful results. If we would take the time to strategize before implementing, then we can be highly effective with the least expenditure of energy. Thinking outside the box and utilizing innovative techniques could make our progress easier and simpler. It is important that we not get overly confident or take our eye off the ball. We also need to be flexible and adaptable to changing conditions that might arise suddenly and unexpectedly since we are living during tumultuous and disruptive times. We can be highly productive today if we do not get ahead of ourselves and are willing to work with the twists and turns that might occur. Today is a day for us to make our plans in pencil with a large eraser.
Friday, August 20th – Finishing Up – Venus, Saturn, Mercury, Uranus. The Moon moves into Aquarius where today the Moon trines Venus and the Moon engages our year-long nemesis of the Saturn Uranus square with the Moon conjunct Saturn today and the Moon square Uranus tomorrow. Mercury trines Uranus reinforcing the Earth Grand Trine by Sign of Mercury and Mars in Virgo, Uranus in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn. This is a day when we can get some revealing insights, hearing startling news, and experience flashes of genius. The early morning hours are a good time to bring completion to outstanding matters and projects we’ve been working on the past two days. As the day progresses, our intentions may turn more to social gatherings and get-togethers. We could have been highly productive and effective over the past two days, tie up loose ends on this Friday morning, and then ready to kick off a weekend where we enjoy the company of other people and give greater thought to our future goals than our present responsibilities. While we can have hands-on with our present projects, it would be wise to solely contemplate our future plans rather than trying to initiate them now.
Saturday, August 21st – God Laughs – Uranus. Saturday continues with the Moon in Aquarius and the Moon’s trigger of the Saturn Uranus square. Yesterday the Moon was conjunct Saturn. Today the Moon squares Uranus. Let’s keep in mind the admonition: “If you want to make god laugh, tell god your plans.” Whatever we have planned for this Saturday, it would be wise for us to have contingency plans in mind. Unexpected developments could alter our schedule and force us to adapt to changing circumstance. Let’s be careful with our finances today. What looks like a bargain might turn out to be a burn. Even our communications can be off. This is a day when we may need to be on guard, utilize due diligence, and take everything with a grain of salt. Friday and Saturday may be frustrating. What we see may not be what we get. This is a day to maintain bemusement at the foibles of humankind and even our own screwups. Flexibility and adaptability are key characteristics to successfully navigate the currents during this time of paradigm shift.
Sunday, August 22nd – Mighty Crescendo – Jupiter, Aquarius Full Moon, Mars, Uranus, Sun Virgo. Sunday begins with the Aquarius Moon conjunct Jupiter, followed by the Aquarius Full Moon as the Sun opposes the Moon [8:02 AM EDT], just before the Moon exits Aquarius to enter Pisces and before the Sun exits Leo to enter Virgo [5:35 PM EDT]. Mars trines Uranus. Our energy could be at its optimum. We are likely to feel optimistic and confident, and we have the physical prowess to take care of any number of errands and activities. The Sun exiting Leo to enter Virgo reestablishes a Stellium in the Mutable Earth Sign as the Sun joins Mercury and Mars in the Mercury-ruled Sign. The exit of the Sun from Leo also brings an end to any Fire. Much of this year we have operated without any Fire, and here we are again. Summer may not be over, but we might sense that there are only dying embers glowing. Whether we have gotten back on track of our regular involvements or only made plans to do so, our attention is turning increasingly to our autumn and our usual affairs. We may want to go out with a bang, and this Sunday would be a day for us to enjoy ourselves in the company of others and doing whatever allows us to recharge and re-create.
