The astrology for this week of March 22nd through the 28th of 2021 gives us the Fire element that we have been largely lacking since the beginning of this year.
With both the Sun and Venus entering the Cardinal Fire Sign of Aries this past weekend, we have a greater desire to initiate projects that appeal to our sense of personal interests. We may be more interested in standing out rather than just fitting in.
We could start the week rearranging our lives and our home space. We are not rearranging the chairs on the Titanic. On the contrary, whether the powers-that-be are loosening their grip on their imposed lockdown or not, the weather with hints of warmer temperatures can be our accomplice for us to get out and about. No matter what the edicts might suggest, we are more likely to do what we want to do, hopefully with safety and a strong health regimen taken into account.
While we start the week with a certain burst of energy, we may also experience trepidation, fearing that if we go too far out on a branch, the bough could break.
Anxious thoughts might paralyze our intended actions, and we have to be wary of paranoia. We could easily take a negative spin and determine that what we see or what we hear is threatening both to society and to us personally. It would be wise to keep in mind that we have been conditioned into accepting false realities and that what we see or hear is not always the true reality of situations.
We may want to express our creativity mid-week in whatever format appeals to us, but our efforts can be met with frustrating delays and unexpected situations that thwart our plans. Like riding a stallion making a break across the meadows at full speed, pulling in the reins can keep us from being overly impetuous and racing ahead without fully considering the parameters in which we are operating.
If we should get fearful and feel hampered by bounding ahead, we can address our fears, utilize them as cautionary indications, and not fall victim to them. A phrase that has always stood out in my mind is from Paramahansa Yogananda’s Autobiography of a Yogi, in which his teacher Sri Yukteswar comments: “Look fear in the face and it will cease to trouble you.”
Whether we are feeling held back or not, the latter part of the week can be pleasant as we soak in the radiance of the early springtime with its various indications of new growth and new births.
The weekend could be a time for us to attend to a springtime cleanup with a sense of completing matters we wish to conclude and leave behind and of preparing for the spring and summer activities ahead of us.
It is important for us to bear in mind that we are at the start of the astrological new year and embrace the concept that for us too we can launch initiations and new beginnings.
The weekend culminates with the Libra Full Moon reminding us that we are not ‘islands unto ourselves’ but rather an essential component of our community, our society, the universe. Each of us is a star and like the night sky we sparkle individually amidst the blanket of infinite and eternal light.
Monday, March 22nd – Change It Up – Uranus, Mercury. Monday begins the week with the Cancer Moon sextile Uranus and the Moon trine Mercury in the early morning hours. We might feel a twitch to put our spirit into action, to fully engage our individuality and to rearrange our life so that it seems both more streamlined and more sanctuary-like. One reality we may have come to realize during this year of lockdowns and imposed quarantines is the fact that we are not going back to the old ‘normal’. Life and society have changed dramatically. Increasingly, the use of our home environment broadens to incorporate the many various facets of our life. Many people, who commuted to work, may have been telecommuting and doing their work at home. Despite the initial apprehension that productivity would drop by people working from their home, upper management in many companies have found quite the opposite. Work productivity actually increased by employees working from home. This phenomenon of telecommuting will not go away, and companies are suggesting the continuation of telecommuting with employees possibly coming into the office once or twice a week. Many of our social activities have also been from our home, online by means of Zoom and social platforms. Even our physical exercise might have been with home equipment. The wide variety of our diverse activities have been largely homebound over the past year, and not all of those activities are going to resume out of the home as the lockdowns are lifted. This Monday is a good day for us to recognize the shift in how we are going to be doing life going forward. Getting rid of items that do not fit in our new template and fixing things up to fit in our new format are good ways to use the energy of this day, not only because of the astrological energy configurations today but also because today is the 22nd, the master number in numerology that indicates the Master Builder.
Tuesday, March 23rd – Around Every Corner – Neptune, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Mercury, Mars. Tuesday begins the day with the Cancer Moon trine Neptune and the Moon opposed Pluto. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for six and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Cancer and before the Moon enters Leo where late in the day the Moon trines Venus. Mercury squares Mars. Although we may begin the day as a continuation of yesterday, feathering our nest and adapting our environment into more of a personal sanctuary, we may be less interested in putting ourselves on the firing lines of either our responsibilities or involvements with the outside world. Late in the day, we may be geared for fun activities and enjoying ourselves. Our safety may be a concern, however, as communications could be strident or anxiety-provoking. People are liable to shoot from the lip, to say whatever they want without considering their audience or the receptivity of their audience to what they have to say. News and commentaries might be alarming or trigger a paranoia about our personal safety. We may want to enjoy ourselves and express our creative side, but we have to be fully aware of the conditions and circumstance in which we find ourselves.
Wednesday, March 24th – Fine Mess – Sun, Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Saturn, Mars. The Leo Moon trines the Sun and the Moon sextiles Mars. The Moon also triggers the Taurus Aquarius square that bedevils us this entire year with the Uranus in Taurus square Saturn in Aquarius by the Leo Moon today squaring Uranus and the Moon opposing Saturn. We may want to spread our wings, do our own things and with an alacrity to match, but we can feel hampered by unexpected situations arising or delays, either of which could frustrate our forward movement. This is a day when we might feel highly conflicted. On the one hand, we are looking to find outlets for our creativity and ways to express our talents. On the other hand, we might feel thwarted by someone’s input or by circumstances getting in our way. This is a day when we may need to learn how best to thread the needle, to circumvent those people or situations that get in our way but without being adversarial or confrontational in the process. Let’s keep in mind that these disruptive times demand that we be flexible and adaptable. We might not always be aware of the shifting tides, but we do need to pay attention to the ebbs and flows and learn how best to navigate the changing currents. We can deal with the monkey wrenches thrown at us without falling off our bicycle.
Thursday, March 25th – Do What We Damn Well Please – Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course. Thursday is a day when we have to be careful not to shoot ourselves in the foot. The Leo Moon opposes Jupiter. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for fourteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Leo and before the Moon enters Virgo late in the day. We might have gotten frustrated by someone or some incident getting in the way of what we wanted to do. Borne from the frustrations of yesterday, our reaction today could be to raise our hackles and increase our adamancy that we are going to do whatever we damn well please no matter the consequences. Either we are going off on a lark today, throwing caution to the wind, negate our responsibilities and act precipitously. If we could have a co-pilot with us, so much the better. Otherwise, we’re not afraid to go it alone. We are primed for a grand adventure, some activity that allows us to put our individual mark upon our action. Today, it’s all about ME, although willing to take a good ‘yes’ person along for the ride. Let’s chalk up this Thursday as a ‘mental health’ day. We can only hope that we don’t try to go too far, too fast, and that we avoid hurting ourselves in the process. There may be no stopping us today, but we might consider that our physical thrust today is in reaction to feeling somewhat squelched yesterday. Such a recognition can tone down impetuous actions.
Friday, March 26th – Productive but Critical – Uranus, Mars, Sun, Venus. Friday has the Virgo Moon trine Uranus and the Moon square Mars. The Sun conjuncts Venus. We could be somewhat enamored with ourselves today. We may feel that we have it going on, and likely we do. Not only are we concentrating on our own projects and possibly starting up something new, but we are doing so in the most effective manner possible. This is a day when we can be highly productive but a little too self-absorbed. Nobody does it better than how we see ourselves proceeding. Not only do we believe that we are operating at our optimum, which we may well be, but we might also have the liability of finding fault in other people. They say that ‘a strong offense is a good defense’, but we are unlikely to feel defensive so why should we be offensive? The evening hours could be prickly for relationships, so let’s avoid lording it over someone or other people. We can shine in our accomplishments, but we’ll get more appreciation for engaging win-win scenarios rather than playing the childhood game of ‘I’m the king of the castle, and you’re the dirty rascal’.
Saturday, March 27th – Which End Is Up – Mercury, Neptune, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course. Saturday continues with the Virgo Moon with the Moon opposed Mercury and the Moon opposed Neptune early in the day, and the Moon trine Pluto late in the day. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for five and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon enters Libra early on Sunday morning. Self-analysis is a good thing and we might be doing some in the early morning hours. Our sleep could be restless as we think through our actions and reactions over the past few days, and especially yesterday’s liability of playing ‘I’m better than you are’. If we went to such a disposition either in expression or internal thought, we may be suffering remorse early in the day. On the flip side, if we were able to maintain proper decorum and graceful diplomacy in our interactions, then this energy would allow us to blend our intuitive insight with a sharpened critique to devise our plan of action to help accomplish our goals. It all depends on how successful we have become in walking the balance beam between self-interests and collaborations. While we might be doing a great deal of reflecting early in the day, and time spent in idling mode rather than full bore action, as the day progresses, we can be far more effective, do what needs to be done, and do so in an appealing manner and with artistic presentation. We all screw up, so let’s not beat ourselves up if every now and then we are a little too large and boorish.
Sunday, March 28th – You and Me Together – Libra Full Moon, Sun, Venus, Lunar Grand Trine, Saturn, Mars. Sunday gives us the Libra Full Moon [2:48 PM EDT] as the Moon opposes both the Sun and Venus. The Moon also triggers an Air Grand Trine as the Libra Moon trines Saturn in Aquarius today and the Moon trines Mars in Gemini early on Monday. If we have been a little too full of ourselves, a little too self-absorbed over the past few days [and why not when we finally have a burst of primal Fire?], then this Sunday is the day when we can truly and finally balance our personal interests and those of other people. Relationships today can be close to idyllic. Appreciation of friendships and communications can clear the air, cut through all the ego trappings and ego game plays, and get back to the sense of solid connection with each other. This is a great day to get together with friends, whether in person or by phone, text or email. None of us is truly an island unto ourselves but rather social creatures. We often shine ever more in the reflections of the brightness of other people. Let’s enjoy our camaraderie with full recognition of what each person in our life significantly contributes.
