The astrology for this week of April 22nd through the 28th of 2024 has intense energy configurations that demand calm and patience.
The week is under the influence of this past Saturday Jupiter Uranus configuration, which can ratchet up the volatility of incidents and situations.
This week also starts the eight-day festival of Passover in Judaism commemorating the emancipation of the Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt. For each of us, whether Jewish or not, this week offers us liberation from practices that no longer serve us but have enslaved us in stultifying ways of being.
To add to the symbology of the angel of death passing over us, we have the Scorpio Full Moon on Tuesday with a T-Square to Pluto with the liability of things crumbling down. These times do suggest that we adapt or die.
Thursday has Mercury ending its three-week retrograde cycle and turning direct. Much of the promise of the spring season with renewals and new beginnings may have seemed stalled during this Mercury retrograde, now feeling unleashed.
As if releasing the ties that bind, whether by means subtly and easily or fiercely and dramatically, the weekend provides us an opportunity to pick up the pieces and expand our interests and activities.
We can start moving in new directions, embracing the opportunities of the spring season, but we do need to avoid too much too soon.
Monday, April 22nd – You as a Reflection of Me – Mercury, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course. Monday starts this week with the Moon continuing its transit of Libra. The Libra Moon today opposes both Mercury and Venus both in Aries. Late in the day, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost sixteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio on Tuesday. We still feel the influence of a bucket pattern chart with the Moon being the handle to the bucket. Jungian psychology talks about the ‘shadow side’, that aspect of ourselves of which we know the least. In astrology, we see these unknown characteristics revealed through relationships by which we can learn more about ourselves. Monday provides us the opportunity to perceive how other people see us. We might realize how instrumental we have been to someone’s growth and development and how significant people are to our lives. This day is geared to our relationships. We can either find ourselves collaborative with other people and shining in their company, or we could feel as though our relationships are impinging on our individual freedoms and our development of new interests. Today calls for a balance between our personal wishes and the concerns of other people. We need to avoid extreme actions and inconsiderate words. We could damage our interactions with people if we become too self-absorbed. Let’s enjoy the company of a special someone without any expectations.
Tuesday, April 23rd – Transform or Stagnate – Moon Void-of-Course, Pluto, Scorpio Full Moon, Sun. Tuesday begins with the Moon Void-of-Course as the Moon completes its transit of Libra. Just before Noon EDT, the Moon exits Libra to enter Scorpio. The Scorpio Moon triggers a Full Moon scenario and a Fixed Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Pluto, and the Moon opposes the Sun [7:49 PM EDT] at the Full Moon. A T-Square necessitates drawing upon the missing Element, in this case the Fixed Fire Sign of Leo. With this T-Square being one intense Full Moon scenario, we may be called upon to put our spirit into action, wrestle our demons, and engage our creative will to set things right. Geophysical phenomena of earthquakes and volcanic activity, deadly cyclonic storms and tornadoes, and extreme natural occurrences cannot be discounted. There might be booms and blasts today, which in turn could trigger volatile actions, wild swings, and concerns regarding our security, our assets, and our well-being. No knee jerk reactions, please, since we may not have full information and are liable to act out based on rumor, consensus opinion or the projected narrative. This is a day for us to take our passions and intensity down a rung or two and maintain a level of calm and patience. We are all going through major transformations with the benefit of awakening and ascension in consciousness. Or we would have the liability of stagnating and trying to hold onto a past that is slip, sliding away. Yes, each of us is being called upon to transform or stagnate.
Wednesday, April 24th – Catching our Breath – Saturn. Wednesday has the Moon continuing its transit of Scorpio with the Moon today making the sole aspect of the Moon trine Saturn late in the day. Whatever the repercussions from yesterday’s Full Moon, this Wednesday takes the energy down significantly. It may seem like the eerie quiet after a storm. This is a day for addressing outstanding matters and to make our ‘to do’ list of those projects we wish to pursue as we come further into the spring season. With the Jupiter Uranus conjunction still in play, we can consider how to expand our involvements by utilizing the most innovative ways. We are a day away from Mercury turning direct, so conceptualization today is far better than implementation. Things can get squirrely with Mercury stationary and about to change direction. This is a day for us to take things slow and not try to do too much. We can make our plans for the days ahead, but it would be wise to do so in pencil with a large eraser. Getting rid of the extraneous and straightening things up around our base of operations would be a good use of today’s energy, or the lack of energy we might experience. If we do a major clean out today, let’s be certain that we’re not throwing the baby out with the bath water.
Thursday, April 25th – Curveballs, Screwballs, and Adjusting the Pace – Uranus, Jupiter, Mars, Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury direct. Thursday has the Scorpio Moon opposed both Uranus and Jupiter both in Taurus early in the day, and the Moon trine both Mars and Neptune both in Pisces later in the day. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost two and a half hours with the Moon making any further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius late in the day. Mercury turns direct [8:54 AM EDT] ending its three-week retrograde cycle. Unexpected developments and unanticipated expenses could knock us off course of our intended schedule. Things can get squirrely early in the day but may straighten out towards the end of the day. Whenever Mercury changes direction, there are liable to be travel issues, computer problems, miscommunications, and various convoluted matters. While we might feel a weight being lifted, it would be wise for us to go slow before we pick up the pace. We need to adjust to the shift. The latter part of the day allows us to sort out our course of action, focusing on the most significant, and ridding ourselves of the extraneous. We may feel ready to get on with our springtime activities and the new projects we wish to pursue, but let’s first adapt to the change before rushing headlong into any endeavor.
Friday, April 26th – Proper Planning – Pluto. Friday has the Sagittarius Moon sextile Pluto as the only aspect that the Moon makes on this day. We are likely to be in an expansive mood, especially coming off the Mercury retrograde which transited through Aries. We might feel as if the shackles are off, and we can go full steam ahead with our creative ventures. Planning our way forward with an emphasis on the truly important matters we wish to engage would prevent a lot of superfluous engagements and concentrate our efforts on the most meaningful. Time spent with those people who could give objective and wise suggestions regarding our intentions might help us cut to the core, utilize streamlined methods to achieve our goals, and encourage us that we are able to pull off some of our grandest goals. It’s always best for us to have a full tank of gas before starting a long journey, and today provides us the opportunity of filling up the tank of both our confidence and the most expeditious means to reach our goals. Taking the time to strategize our course of action instead of rushing headlong forward would save us a great deal of time and wasted effort in the long run. This idea is akin to the carpenter’s adage: ‘measure twice, cut once’.
Saturday, April 27th – Slow Down, You Move Too Fast – Mercury, Saturn. Saturday continues with the Sagittarius Moon with the Moon trine Mercury and the Moon square Saturn early in the day. We may have great plans for our Saturday, but we could hit some delays or speed bumps as we proceed. While we might be intending to find outlets for our creative impulses, whether as a participant in our personal projects or as an observer of entertainment venues, responsibilities and obligations can get in our way. We may need to attend to home and family matters, thereby reining in our own ideas for this Saturday. Instead of feeling blocked with the wind knocked out of our sails, it would be suggested we take care of any necessary matters first and then use the rest of the day to do whatever catches our fancy. Just because there might be bumps in the road today, we don’t need to go off into a ditch and forego any good times with good friends. Let’s slow things down, attend to what needs to get done, and then use the rest of this Saturday for our own enjoyment.
Sunday, April 28th – Getting a Grip – Mars, Venus, Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun. Early Sunday morning has the Sagittarius Moon trine Venus, and the Moon square both Mars and Neptune both in Pisces. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for two hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn where late in the day the Capricorn Moon trines the Sun. If we felt our plans were blocked on Saturday and that we were unable to fully engage what we wanted to do, Saturday evening might have had us indulging to excess with a consequent effect of feeling out-of-sorts during our sleep state late Saturday, early Sunday. Water issues and naval incidents could be problematic today. When it rains, it pours. Sunday may be slow starting but could be a day for us to just enjoy ourselves. We don’t want any pressure on what we should do. On the contrary, we might see this Sunday as the proverbial day of rest. Taking time to recharge our batteries and feeling good about our re-creational choices would prepare us to take care of what needs to get done during the forthcoming week. Instead of going non-stop like an adrenaline junkie, each of us needs ‘down time’ when we give to ourselves and enjoy the good things in life. This Sunday can be one of those days.
