The astrology for this week of March 11th through the 17th of 2024 can have us pleasantly awaiting the coming of the spring season next week.
With this also being the first full week of Daylight Savings Time for many of us in the US, we know and feel that spring is on its way.
There is not a great deal of dynamic energy this week until we come to the weekend, highlighted by Saint Patrick’s Day.
The week begins with Venus exiting Aquarius to enter Pisces, a Sign of Exaltation for Venus, where our compassion and spiritual sense are elevated. With Venus exiting Aquarius, the Stellium of three planets in Aquarius ends, and the Stellium in Pisces is reenforced as Venus joins the Sun, Saturn, and Neptune in the Mutable Water Sign.
Many of us may put into thought and action the reflection that ‘there but for the grace of God go I’.
Our emotions can be accentuated this week, all with intentions as to how best to put our spirit into action.
The mid-week could have us out shopping or planning our springtime purchases. We’re done with winter and want to get on with sunnier days and warmer temperatures. Fixing up our homes and preparing for outdoor activities may be part of our mid-week focus.
The weekend might have us in celebration mode with the highlight being St. Patrick’s Day, a day when everyone of us is Irish or at last pretending to embrace the festivities. What’s not to love about corned beef, cabbage, and boiled potatoes, and quaffing a Guinness Stout.
This is the last full week of the winter season, and we are likely looking forward to the advent of spring with its promise of renewal, rebirth, the renaissance of life.
Monday, March 11th – Heaven or Hell – Venus Pisces. Monday has the Moon in Aries but making no connections to the planets today. The main energy configuration is the planetary shift of Venus out of Aquarius and into Pisces [5:50 PM EDT], a Sign of Exaltation for Venus. The Sign change ends the Stellium in Aquarius but increases the strength of the Pisces Stellium as Venus joins the Sun, Saturn, and Neptune in the Mutable Water Sign. Our sensitivity can be ratcheted up severalfold. With an increased receptivity and vulnerability to whatever is going on in our lives or the indirect influence of the world-at-large, we can either go into a funk of feeling victimized by life or a belief that life might actually be a heaven on earth. Our choice, always our choice. We do need to avoid maudlin compassion where we engage other people’s issues and consequently take away their karma and take it on as our own. I would suggest that we take some time on this Monday and reflect and contemplate our individual personal journey through this life experience. By quieting our mind, extinguishing any anxiety, we might realize that we are on the right path of our journey. With the Moon transiting the Cardinal Fire Sign of Aries and the impetus of the Pisces Stellium, this is a time when we can put our spirit into action, take machete in hand, and carve our path with purpose in mind and self-actualization intended. Although many people in our society have taken on a victim role, bought into negativity, and accepted a dystopian future; such an attitude is liable only to lead to a hell on earth. Why go there? In truth, life is far better than previous generations, opportunities far greater than in previous times, ease of living more available than earlier. As Mahatma Gandhi advised: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
Tuesday, March 12th – Preparing the Way – Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Pluto. Tuesday begins the day with the Aries Moon sextile Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost thirteen and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Aries and before the Moon enters Taurus late in the day where the Moon sextiles Venus and the Moon squares Pluto to end the day. We can be focused with dogged determination on what we wish to achieve. We could have a thrust of encouragement from someone with the consequent effect of our broadening our perspective and expanding our intended reach. We may be entertaining all sorts of prospects today, more likely keeping them in the conceptual rather than implementation. This is a day for us to prepare the way for planting seeds and putting into effect our long-term plans over the next two days. With the sense of spring approaching, we might have a strong dose of ‘spring fever’ where much of the heaviness of our recent daily lives could be lifted with our ability to see what might be. Like a horse with blinders removed, we may be able to see the peripheral, opportunities of which we were unaware as we trudged forward through our daily routine. The key to maintaining balance during these volatile times is to modulate the metronome swings of extreme emotions that often resemble a manic – depressive tendency. This is a day for us to engage our confidence and consider our options. No need to whittle them down today as there will be time for that tomorrow.
Wednesday, March 13th – Step by Step – Saturn, Jupiter. Wednesday has the Taurus Moon with the Moon today sextile Saturn and the Moon conjunct Jupiter. Jupiter and Saturn represent two polarities of expansion [Jupiter] and contraction [Saturn]. Like the yin – yang energies of the Tao, the opposites complete. With Saturn engaged prior to Jupiter on this Wednesday, we have the opportunity of determining our course of action in a concentrated and responsible manner. By taking care of what needs to get done and then prioritizing what we wish to achieve, we can contain our optimism and enthusiasm and avoid either doing too much or spending too much. Taking things step by step today would avoid us going off the deep end. By focusing our involvements and addressing our responsibilities first today, we can then take advantage of space that we have created to add to our engagements. Keeping everything in balance today allows us to moderate our actions. Otherwise, we could go from feeling restricted by our obligations to excessive indulgences in the superfluous. Let’s take the time to clean things up before adding to our environment. Like a racehorse in the starting gate, we may be champing at the bit to get on with things, but enlisting strategic measures makes us more productive and effective both in the short term and for the long run.
Thursday, March 14th – Too Far, Too Fast – Uranus, Mars, Sun, Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course. Thursday continues with the Moon in Taurus with the Taurus Moon conjunct Uranus, the Moon square Mars, and the Moon sextile both the Sun and Neptune both in Pisces. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost five hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Taurus and before the Moon enters Gemini late in the day. An unexpected situation could start our day and alter our course. While we can be concentrating on our goals and our intentions, we need to be wary that suggestions from someone don’t take us off track, even if the track we are on is not the one we intended. Surprising developments can be fun adventures, but let’s keep a rein on our actions and decisions and not get carried away by the rapid currents of unfolding events. The first part of this Thursday might have us going too far too fast with the consequent liabilities of heading in the wrong direction or glossing over necessary factors to consider. Fortunately, as the day progresses, things may slow down, and we could be more expeditious in what we are doing. It would be wise for us to pare down our commitments in order to create space for more exciting involvements later on. Whatever we need to conclude this week, this Thursday is a day for us to do so. Tomorrow through the weekend may have us more in celebratory mode as we join in the indulgences of St. Patrick’s Day on Sunday.
Friday, March 15th – Starting Early – Pluto, Venus, Mercury, Saturn. Friday has the Gemini Moon trine Pluto, the Moon sextile Mercury, and the Moon square both Venus and Saturn both in Pisces. Socializing could begin the weekend early. We may be in contact with someone and enjoy their company today. Scintillating conversations might make us aware of prospects for our future of which we had not considered. There is a light and airy quality to this Friday, marred only by indulgences that could lead to moodiness and feelings of our good intentions being blocked, possibly even by our own insecurities. If we can make this a long weekend starting today, all the better. Sometimes, discussions feed thought processes and alight an understanding of alternatives we had not considered. There’s no use looking back at what was, not when we are about to enter spring with its promise of hope, renewal, and new beginnings. This is a day to throw open wide the realm of all possibilities. We don’t have to engage anything today except positive prospects and douse any negative feelings. Often, people seem to vent their ill feelings in the evening after we are exhausted from the day’s activities. If we spend the evening with a Debbie Downer, we need to be certain not to be impacted by their negativity. As the Peter McWilliams and John Roger book title suggests You Can’t Afford the Luxury of a Negative Thought.
Saturday, March 16th – All In – Mars. Saturday has the Moon continuing its transit of Gemini with the Moon trine Mars late in the day. This is a day for us to participate in good times with good friends. We might be itching to do something different from our regular routine. Exploration and investigation may be at the heart of the matter for us, and we are likely to be all in of taking part in any number of activities. We are feeling the impetus of the spring season and ready to spread our wings and soar with the eagles. We may not want to go solo today, so let’s get someone with an adventurous spirit to join us in our exploits. Time spent with a special someone can be enlivening and spirited. This is a day when we are able to recharge our batteries by vigorous activity and collaborative engagement. No sitting back for us today, for no matter the weather, we are likely to be out and about and reclaiming our self-affirming sense with a ‘can do’ attitude.
Sunday, March 17th – License to Excess – Sun, Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus. Sunday begins with the Gemini Moon square both the Sun and Neptune both in Pisces. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for five hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Gemini with no further connections to the planets and before the Moon enters Cancer where the Cancer Moon trines Venus late in the day. The Sun conjuncts Neptune. Today is St. Patrick’s Day, a day when we’re all Irish, or at least a day when we are likely celebrating good times and good cheer. If we enjoyed ourselves too much last night, we could start this day with a hangover and would prefer a slow beginning for our Sunday. But as drinkers who imbibe too much suggest, the remedy for a hangover is often the ‘hair of the dog’. The liability of extremes today cannot be discounted, encouraged by the merriment surrounding St. Paddy’s Day festivities. If we don’t indulge today, then the energy of this day would motivate a good pre-spring cleaning, ridding ourselves of the outmoded to make space for the new and exciting, which is the promise of the spring season. Whether we indulge in the food and drink today or choose to take on a good clearing, we need to be careful of doing anything today to excess. More is not always better.
