The astrology for this week of February 5th through the 11th of 2024 can have us insightful and productive if we don’t get in our own way but instead allow the magic to unfold.
The week begins with us seeking to spread our wings, explore distant realms, and consider our options for the future. We transition from a Stellium of three planets in Capricorn into a Stellium of three planets in Aquarius as Mercury exits Capricorn to enter the Fixed Air Sign and joins the Sun and Pluto in Aquarius. Increasingly, the future is now.
Although we often consider Wednesday to be ‘hump day’ falling as it does in the middle of the work week, this Wednesday could have us operating at our optimum, able to strategically move forward with our projects by means of combining our intuitive sense with our determined persistence and attention to details. Surprising developments can help grease our wheels. It hardly gets better than this.
The end of the week has the Aquarius New Moon, a trigger for the Chinese New Year of the green wood dragon. While the energy enhances the likelihood of growth, prosperity and good times; we have to avoid being so self-involved that we lose sight of the magic and mini-miracles of these times in the paradigm shift.
The weekend may have us on the metronome between elation and despair. Perhaps we are being too attached to our expectations and desires for specific outcomes and negate the gifts and opportunities from unexpected incidents. The weekend might be highly emotional prodding us to get over ourselves. Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how we see it, this weekend is Super Bowl Sunday weekend and provides a license for indulgence and excess and tuning out of our personal mundane reality as many people choose to partay.
Monday, February 5th – All Things Possible – Sun, Mercury, Pluto, Mercury Aquarius. Monday begins this week with the Sagittarius Moon sextile the Sun. Mercury exits Capricorn to enter Aquarius [12:10 AM EST], and Mercury conjuncts Pluto. We start the week raring to go. We are looking to broaden our reach and likely feeling confident and optimistic about our prospects. The Sign shift of Mercury from Capricorn to Aquarius ends the Stellium in Capricorn and triggers a Stellium in Aquarius as Mercury joins the Sun and Pluto in the Fixed Air Sign. Our sights are on the far horizon, and we might contemplate the best practices approach to realize our goals. No nay-sayers for us as we start off this day and this week, not when we have high octane in our tank and jazzed to get things going. Our enthusiasm can be contagious, and we may believe that nothing is too much for us to take on. What we need to keep in mind, however, is the fact that during this paradigm shift there are any number of unexpected variables that can assist, alter, or deter our best laid plans. Humility is called for and an appreciation of the law of unintended consequences. If we are smart about our approach, we could strategize what we wish to accomplish by the most expedited and effective means.
Tuesday, February 6th – Tripped Up before Focusing – Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course, Saturn, Jupiter. In the early morning hours of this Tuesday, the Sagittarius Moon squares Neptune. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for seven hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn where late in the day the Capricorn Moon sextiles Saturn and the Moon trines Jupiter. Our sleep state might be a little disturbed with our dream state triggering anxiety and concern. And why shouldn’t we have concerns when we witness any number of areas in the world, areas in our own nation-state, where violence is raging? While we might not see much peace going on out in the world, we have the obligation and necessity to develop our own inner peace, to take care of ourselves and to be self-sufficient regarding our attitude and disposition. As the day unfolds, we can feel more grounded and focused on our own personal ambitions. This Tuesday is a good day for us to prepare the significant matters we wish to attend to tomorrow. Wednesday is a primo day, and the more we have our ducks lined up on this Tuesday, the more productive and expeditious we shall be tomorrow.
Wednesday, February 7th – As If by Magic Wand – Venus, Uranus, Mars, Neptune. Wednesday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today conjunct Venus and the Moon trine Uranus. Venus trines Uranus, and Mars sextiles Neptune. This Wednesday can have things falling neatly into place as if by magic. A serendipitous encounter could ease our way, help us to streamline our activities and be highly effective in realizing our goals. It is important that we be open to surprising developments that may lead to us being more productive and more successful in our endeavors. The paradigm shift through which we are going talks to things happening in unexpected ways, and this Wednesday might give evidence to such mini-miracles. While we do not have to do it all or assume absolute control over matters, once the signs are evident and the signals given, we can then move forward with determination and with a sense of personal density of being on the right track to realizing our destiny. It is essential that we be open to receive. Even the most seemingly inconsequential incident could prove significantly consequential. If we are looking to streamline our operations and be more effective with less expenditure of energy, we could make certain purchases of software and technological tools that will ease our way. This Wednesday is likely the most productive day of the week. We just need to engage humility and not get tripped up by our ego or our assumption that we know the way, the only way, to procced. As the saying goes: “the universe has far greater plans for us than we could imagine for ourselves.”
Thursday, February 8th – In the Dark of the Moon – Neptune, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Pluto, Mercury, Jupiter, Sun. The early morning hours of Thursday has the Moon completing its transit of Capricorn with the Capricorn Moon sextile Neptune and the Moon conjunct Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for six hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius where today the Aquarius Moon conjuncts Pluto early in the day, and the Moon conjuncts Mercury late in the day, and the Moon squares Jupiter to end the day. The Sun squares Uranus. After what could have been a highly productive day on Wednesday, Thursday may have us tying up loose ends, concluding certain matters before our attention turns to what could be. We are on the dark side of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s New Moon, with the dark side of the Moon being a time for resolutions of outstanding matters that we do not want to encumber us with the waxing Moon. We can also consider our future projections, what we wish to do and what might allow us greater autonomy and freedom of movement even within our present parameters. Giving thought to methods and techniques that would allow us to work smarter rather than harder and help us prepare for the thrust of energy that New Moons afford. We just need to avoid excessive expenditures or biting off more than we can chew when considering the world of endless possibilities. Friendships and relationships may be in question. We may not be interested in ‘same old, same old’ but engage instead quirky characters who are marching to their own drum.
Friday, February 9th – New Moon, New Year – Uranus, Aquarius New Moon, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course. Friday has the Aquarius Moon square Uranus and the Sun conjunct Moon at the time of the New Moon [5:59 PM EST]. The New Moon configuration of the Sun Moon conjunction in Aquarius is square to Uranus. After the New Moon, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over fourteen and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces on Saturday morning. Although various calendars and commentators will indicate that tomorrow is the beginning of the Chinese New Year, the Chinese New Year is launched by the second New Moon after the Winter Solstice, which in China is on the 10th, in the US and western Europe on the 9th. While much of our thoughts and plans and discussions may revolve around where we are going, it would be wise for us to keep in mind that we are living during tumultuous, disruptive times where dramatic situations can arise suddenly and unexpectedly with hardly a moment’s notice. All we need to do is to think back to about 3-4 years ago and see where we were then and all the myriad of situations that have transpired since. The comparison may show us quite a different world, and the changes aren’t over yet. With the trigger of this New Moon and the Chinese year of the green wood dragon, more disruptions, more unanticipated events, and a slew of black swans could be increasingly evident. That does not mean we should cower in the corner or merely take a passive, reactive mode to life, but rather suggests for us to move ahead, always aware of changing circumstances, mindful of any necessary alterations to our course of action, and with the hope and affirmation of the wise and true saying that: “god and the higher forces have far greater plans for us than we could have imagined for ourselves.”
Saturday, February 10th – Pendulum Swings – Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury. Saturday has the Moon entering Pisces where late in the day the Pisces Moon conjuncts Saturn and the Moon sextiles Jupiter. Mercury squares Jupiter. In the US, this is Super Bowl weekend with all the temptations of good times with get-togethers, partying, indulgences, and excesses. And excess it might seem to attend the Super Bowl with ticket prices ranging from over $5,000 up to $35,000. Whether we take in the Super Bowl tomorrow or not, this weekend tends towards overspending. We may be interested in stepping away from our daily routine, give ourselves a treat, and ignore the costs involved. Although escaping reality, even if only for a weekend, is appealing, it would be wise for us to have a budget, maintain an eye on our expenditures, and even consider embracing the wise counsel: ‘moderation in all things’. With conformity being seductive, many of us may just use this weekend as a time to step off the track, engage our fantasies and go for the gold of good times with good friends. Let’s just remember that after any step away from our regular routine into the hype of this weekend, we might be left with a nasty hangover and a major dent in our credit card balances.
Sunday, February 11th – Let the Good Times Roll – Uranus, Venus. Sunday continues with the Moon’s transit of Pisces with the Pisces Moon today sextile Uranus in Taurus and the Moon sextile Venus in Capricorn. This is the day of Super Bowl LVIII in the US, an extravaganza that occupies not only much of the US populace but also a global audience. It’s interesting that this Super Bowl game occurs in Las Vegas, a town where fantasies and dreams of indulgence hold sway. It is blowout time, a time when many people get together with friends and family for the spectacle, and the culmination of the football season. It is also the day before the winter doldrums set in with a thud, as our distractions from the goings-on in the world-at-large need to find an alternate focus [college basketball with next month’s March Madness or the madness of the US political games?]. While many of us may be glued to the television or use the occasion to socialize with family and friends, this day provides opportunities for networking as many of us are on the same page and likely to be more collaborative than at other times. Connections can be made or reenforced as all of us are feeling relatively upbeat, indulging the various goodies of snacks and drink, and sharing the mass enchantment of this day. Yes, today is a day to party and let the good times roll.
