The astrology for this week of October 2nd through the 8th of 2023 could be a highly productive week when we can accomplish a lot so long as we don’t get lost in the weeds, or distracted by bright shiny diversions, and we lower our expectations for the weekend.
The kite pattern chart with the Grand Trine in the Earth Element is engaged offering us the ability of drawing upon both our intuitive sense of things and our critical analysis of the facts.
This is a time for us to work smarter rather than harder. By being attuned to signals from the universe and unexpected developments that benefit us, we may virtually move mountains, if we don’t get in our own way.
This week has two Sign changes.
Mercury exits its own Sign of Virgo and enters Libra, where the Mercury entrance triggers a Stellium in the Cardinal Air Sign as Mercury joins the Sun and Mars in Libra.
At the end of the weekend, Venus exits Leo and enters Virgo.
With Venus now in Virgo and Mercury in Libra we have a Mutual Reception with Venus in the Sign ruled by Mercury and Mercury in the Sign ruled by Venus, consequently strengthening both planets.
Narcissism and self-absorption could be lessened as we take more interest in what is going on with other people. There may be less grandstanding but possibly more selectivity with personal interactions.
While much of the earlier week may have us successful in our efforts dealing with mundane matters, the latter part of the week could have us seeking refuge from stormy weather.
The weekend can have us engaged in a battle of wills or choosing instead to hide out. Fight or flight. My suggestion would be the flight.
Monday, October 2nd – Micromanaging to a Detriment – Uranus, Venus, Neptune, Lunar Grand Trine, Mercury, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course. Monday begins this week with the Moon in Taurus and the Taurus Moon today conjunct Uranus, the Moon square Venus, the Moon sextile Neptune, and the Moon triggering a Lunar Grand Trine with the Taurus Moon trine Mercury in Virgo, and the Moon trine Pluto in Capricorn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over three and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Taurus and before the Moon enters Gemini early on Tuesday. Mercury opposes Neptune. The three transcendental planets are engaged suggesting that we put our antennae up, step out of our own way, and be open to streamlining operations for us to be more effective with less expenditure of energy. During this paradigm shift, the challenge for each of us is our willfulness with the belief that we are the ones to make things happen as opposed to our new asequential reality where the universe makes itself known by random acts and unexpected developments. These times call for us to blend our conditioned belief in mastery over our conditions with an acceptance that the universe has a significant role in the twists and turns we are likely to encounter along our way. Trying to force things to our will is a prescription for a severe blowback. Instead, it would be wise for us to be open to the signals and natural unfolding occurring and work with the energies to our benefit. Trying to micromanage today could have us losing golden opportunities of operating on greased wheels thanks to the input from extraordinary forces.
Tuesday, October 3rd – If Only – Saturn, Sun, Mercury, Pluto. Tuesday has the Moon entering Gemini where in the early morning hours the Moon squares Saturn and later in the day the Moon trines the Sun. Mercury trines Pluto. Our sleep state might be a little restless with us feeling locked onto the carnival tilt-a-whirl ride raising and lowering, spinning round and round. We could sense obligations weighing on us. Instead of getting emotional or feeling overwhelmed by all that we need to do, this is a day when it would be wise for us to ‘grin and bear it’, put on our big boy pants [I know, not politically correct in today’s opaque western world society], and just do what needs to be done. Since our mind is sharp and focused, our critical analysis can be forensics-like whereby we are able to dissect any situation, get to the core of the issue, and then utilize a best practices approach to successfully resolve the matter. The key to this day is for us not to take on the victim role, or play the blame game, or expect someone else to do it for us. No, today calls for grownup time, whereby we take responsibility and accountability for our moods, our attitudes, and our behavior. As the Nike slogan reminds us, today we need to ‘just do it’. If we concentrate and focus, we might be surprised how accomplished we can be on this Tuesday.
Wednesday, October 4th – Playing Nice – Mars, Mercury Libra. Wednesday has the Moon in Gemini but without much planetary interaction until late in the day when the Gemini Moon trines Mars. Mercury exits its own Sign of Virgo and enters Libra [8:09 PM EDT]. The Earth Grand Trine, which we have enjoyed with Virgo transiting planet variations since the end of July, ends briefly until reinstituted over the weekend for a final four-week Earth Grand Trine when Venus transits Virgo. There is not a great deal of energy today. There may be more pleasant discussions and consideration of future possibilities, but the day might seem more talk than walk. With Mercury entering Libra, we now have a Stellium of three planets in the Cardinal Air Sign as Mercury joins the Sun and Mars in Libra. There can be greater consideration of what is going on with other people, an appreciation that input from someone with a detached perspective may provide insight or an objective and clearer viewpoint than our own subjective vision. We do need to avoid being overly reliant on other people or becoming co-dependent to the needy. Let’s keep in mind that the symbol for Libra is the scales with the recognition of weighing both sides or a multitude of sides, before determining the way ahead. Yes, in deed, we could find ourselves in a Goldilocks syndrome. Even if we, or the people around us, seem indecisive, at least we might assume that everyone is beginning to play nice.
Thursday, October 5th – Me and Mine – Neptune, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Saturn. Wednesday continues with the Moon transiting Gemini with the Gemini Moon in the early morning hours square to Neptune and the Moon sextile Venus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for six hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Gemini and before the Moon enters Cancer where today the Cancer Moon squares Mercury, and the Moon sextiles Saturn. Have you noticed that our sleep states seem highly animated recently with a liability of restlessness, having us experience bizarre and fantastic incidents in our sleep, and leaving us depleted even exhausted when we awaken? This issue could be indicative of our Wednesday night – Thursday morning sleep state. Like being on a metronome, our moods can swing from anxious and concerned to relieved and comforted. Although we are looking to enjoy the company of other people, today we may be a little tentative or reticent to fully engage. Not that we have the sense that we are caught in a world akin to Lord of the Flies despite the evident craziness occurring in the world-at-large. We are just hesitant to fully trust the suggestions of other people, even those closest to us. If we trust our instincts, vet the input from someone, then we can proceed without anxiety or fear and engage a structured and serious manner to accomplish our goals.
Friday, October 6th – Hit the Road, Jack – Sun, Jupiter. The Moon continues its transit of Cancer with the Cancer Moon today square the Sun and the Moon sextile Jupiter. In the US, this is the beginning of the long holiday autumn weekend once known as celebrating Columbus Day, politically correctly renamed Indigenous Peoples’ Day weekend, and in the northern latitudes best known as leaf peeping weekend. In Canada, it’s Thanksgiving Day weekend. Any way that you slice it or dice it, this Friday could have a certain testiness with our relationships. We might believe that people are just not getting us, not appreciating the depth of our character, or acknowledging our significance to their lives. As the classic song by Eric Burdon and The Animals would remind us: “Oh, Lord, please don’t let me be misunderstood.” If we are feeling easily dismissed, we might choose to dismiss ourselves and head for the hills. Many people may choose to get out of town, others to stay put and visit with family and friends. It is important that we watch our expenses, especially with the ravages of inflation biting us in our… finances. This Friday could give us an indication of the weekend, which might be a highly intense weekend. Let’s avoid contentious topics in our discussions, since conversations can get heated, even to the point of getting physical.
Saturday, October 7th – Always Look on the Bright Side of Life – Uranus, Neptune, Lunar T-Square, Mars, Pluto Moon Void-of-Course. Saturday has the Cancer Moon sextile Uranus and trine Neptune in the first half of the day. The Moon then triggers a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Cancer Moon square Mars in Libra and the Moon opposed Pluto in Capricorn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for four hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Cancer and before the Moon enters Leo in the evening. This day is a tale of two dispositions, pleasant and engaging in the morning, intense and potentially violent in the afternoon. Today and tomorrow demand that we walk on eggshells. We might see the extreme volatility of these times play out on this Saturday. Everything may seem to go swimmingly and then suddenly the energy shifts dramatically and can linger [?, not too likely lingering, more likely spiking] into tomorrow. We may feel like we’re in an exciting and enlivening time early on this Saturday. We could have a sense of the idyllic during the first half of this day. Abruptly, like a storm squall out of nowhere, the placid turns temperamental. Enjoyable conversations can become heated confrontations, even to the extreme of violent outbursts. With the divisiveness in society and an acceptance of only those who are solidly in agreement, it would be wise for us to stay far away from topics that trigger strongly held opinions. Today and tomorrow suggest we either keep topics non-controversial or we step away from the goings-on and escape to our private sanctuary.
Sunday, October 8th – Round Two – Mercury, Jupiter, Mars, Pluto, Venus Virgo. Sunday begins with the Leo Moon sextile Mercury and ends with the Leo Moon square Jupiter. Mars squares Pluto, and Venus exits Leo to enter Virgo [9:11 PM EDT]. Like yesterday, we have a sort of yin – yang energy operating on this Sunday. We could be engaging a good time with a good friend in the morning. Things seem to go south later in the day. Sunday calls for us to keep things light and airy, focus on good times and avoid any intense reactions. The Mars Pluto square is one of my least favorite aspects since rash behavior can lead to explosive consequences. If we do engage with other people or are out in public, it would be wise for us to be careful, aware, and mindful of our surroundings. At any hint of discord or threatening behavior, we might want to step away and retreat into our own private sanctuary. Both Saturday and Sunday can see incendiary situations get out of hand. Although this is a long holiday weekend for many, we should keep in mind contingency plans in case things heat up and we need an escape route. Akin to a volcano percolating below the surface and needing steam vents to release built-up energies, dormant frustrations in people can find rash releases over this weekend. Aggressive conduct and extreme actions may wreak havoc. Everyone needs to take things down a notch or two this weekend, not take things personally, and just ‘chill’. With Venus entering Virgo, we have a Mutual Reception between Venus in the Sign ruled by Mercury and Mercury in the Sign ruled by Venus with both planets accentuated. Relationships can be pleasant, although we could be highly selective with our interactions, and we just might need to abstain from being overly critical of other people.
