The astrology for this week of July 10th through the 16th of 2023 can have us feeling betwixt and between our summertime recreational activities and our normal, usual responsibilities.
It is interesting to note that in our ever-accelerating lifestyle we fast forward our preparations for events. For instance, even though we are just in the early part of the summer season, already school sales for the coming school year are being hawked. And come August some stores start to present their Christmas decorations sales. At the very least, this tendency to rush ahead is off-putting if not crazy making.
Some of the push-pull between summer ‘time-outs’ and back on track activities may be evident this week.
The week begins with Mars ending its transit of Leo to enter Virgo, followed shortly thereafter with Mercury exiting Cancer to enter Leo.
We might feel the need to deal with the specifics of our projects, but we need to be cautious not to do so in a slapdash manner. Getting things done is not always the same as getting things done effectively. With Mercury entering Leo we are liable to brook no interference or consider any alternate suggestions to what we are doing or how we are doing it.
Our desire with Mercury in Leo could be to do our own thing, crow our accomplishments from the highest summit but with little justification for how the results turn out.
If we skip over details in haste to get things done, we can experience intense pushbacks later in the week with evidence to the truth that ‘haste makes waste’.
A metronome-like quality to this week might be exhausting and demand catching our breath over the weekend and reinvigorating ourselves.
Monday, July 10th – Don’t Tie Me Down – Venus, Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Mercury, Mars, Mars Virgo. Monday begins this week with the Aries Moon and the Moon today trine Venus and the Moon triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Aries Moon square Pluto in Capricorn and the Moon square Mercury in Cancer. The Moon enters Taurus where tonight the Taurus Moon trines Mars, which earlier today had Mars exiting Leo to enter Virgo [7:40 AM EDT]. Mercury opposes Pluto. This day can have us feeling like we have one foot in, the other foot out. We may be geared for summer fun activities, but our easing into good times could be disrupted by responsibilities and family issues. We might feel unable to fully engage our recreational plans due to tasks, obligations and commitments already made. This is a day for us to find balance between our personal desires and what we need to get done. There is no need for us to do things in a haphazard manner, but to be certain that we have some ‘me’ time, no matter what our ‘to do’ list might entail. Either / or will not work, but rather today necessitates a balancing act.
Tuesday, July 11th – Step by Step – Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury Leo. The Moon continues its transit of Taurus on this Tuesday with the Taurus Moon sextile Saturn early in the day, and the Moon conjunct Jupiter late in the day. Mercury exits Cancer to enter Leo [12:11 AM EDT]. This is a day when it may seem that we go from contraction to expansion. Whether yesterday had our personal wishes duking it out with the demands of our responsibilities or we found the necessary balancing act, today can have us with nose to grindstone attending to what we need to accomplish. We can be highly productive today if we keep our head down and focused on what is right in front of us. As the day progresses, we can let up on our concentrated attention, look up and consider a wider range of interests and involvements. With Mercury in Leo, each of us can find formats for our creative talents or just find ourselves pontificating. While we could be more interested in participating in recreational activities, we need to be wary of bullying or wanting center stage. The liability with Mercury in Leo is increased narcissism, self-importance, and self-absorption. Why go there when we can share the stage with other people and create win-win scenarios with everyone feeling better about themselves and the collaborative efforts together?
Wednesday, July 12th – Sensing the Muse – Sun, Uranus, Venus, Neptune. Wednesday continues with the Taurus Moon with the Moon today sextile the Sun, the Moon conjunct Uranus, the Moon square Venus, and the Moon sextile Neptune. The more attuned we are to alternative means and innovative approaches, the more we could achieve today. This is a day for us to work smarter rather than harder. Let’s be open to unanticipated developments where we can streamline our involvements, take care of what needs to get done expeditiously, and appreciate the realities of this paradigm shift where things occur in the most unexpected manner as if by magic or miracle. Things do not have to be hard. Often, we make them so by assuming we are living through the realities of the past rather than the transformations of the present. By being aware and mindful, we may pick up the necessary signals to alter our behavior and be more effective with less expenditure of energy. With this paradigm shift encouraging us to be co-creators with the universe unfolding, it would be wise for us to acknowledge the power of the natural forces rather than becoming egotistical and praising ourselves for what we have done. Both revelatory moments and an attuned sense of what is occurring are offered to us today. We just need to be receptive to heed them.
Thursday, July 13th – Juggling Jumble – Pluto, Mercury, Lunar T-Square, Mars, Saturn. Thursday begins with the Taurus Moon trine Pluto in the early morning hours. The Moon then moves into Gemini where today the Gemini Moon sextiles Mercury and the Moon triggers a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Gemini Moon square Mars in Virgo and the Moon squares Saturn in Pisces. Wednesday, early Thursday provided positive connections between the Moon and the three transcendental planets of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. We are being offered opportunities to be effective and productive by working with the energies when they benefit us, as they did yesterday. This Thursday is a different set of circumstance and may find us in a jumble, juggling any number of things and possibly ineffectively. Rushing through things today just to get them done can have us working haphazardly with little attention to detail and with a liability of eventually having to rework matters that we thought were done only to come undone and needing to be redone. This day could prove the case of trying to do too much without proper attention to detail. Our nerves might be shot with our juggling being anything but adept. Keystone Kops anyone?
Friday, July 14th – Options – Sun, Uranus. Friday has the Moon continuing its transit of Gemini, but the Moon today makes no connections to the planets. The Sun sextiles Uranus. If we have the opportunity to do so, this Friday would be a good day for exploration and doing whatever catches our fancy. Although we are all conditioned to make plans, have plans, fill our day with this, that and the other and leaving very little time for unexpected developments or spontaneous actions; this Friday is a day for us to be impulsive and spontaneous. As the wisdom teachings suggest: “god and the higher forces often have far greater plans for us than we could have imagined for ourselves.” Such a truth might be evident today. Certainly, using this day as a day to try out new things, sample situations, and broaden our reach and widen our perspective would provide fodder to consider options and alternatives for ourselves. We might also experience a new and greater sense of self. All we need to do is release the ties that bind, take the day to engage the different and the unique, and use today’s experiences as a good mirror for ourselves regarding how much we have transformed over the past few years. Even tiny changes contribute to far greater changes to unfold. It’s like a snowball going down a mountain, gaining momentum, eventually becoming an avalanche.
Saturday, July 15th – Feet on Ground, Head in Clouds – Venus, Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars. Early on Saturday, the Gemini Moon sextiles Venus, and the Moon squares Neptune. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over four and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Gemini and before the Moon enters Cancer where in the evening the Moon sextiles Mars. The taste for discovery from Friday may continue early on this Saturday, a good time for us to find enjoyable outlets of creative talents and uplifting expressions. As the day proceeds, we might choose to spend time at home relaxing or taking care of home projects. A quiet night at home would allow us to contemplate our options and our alternatives of which we could have become more aware through our day of self-discovery on Friday. Not that we are likely to do anything rash. As a result of yesterday’s breather, we are more likely to consider a practical course of action and consequently have our head in the clouds and our feet firmly planted on the ground.
Sunday, July 16th – On the Dark Side of the Moon – Saturn, Jupiter. Sunday has the Cancer Moon trine Saturn, and the Moon sextile Jupiter. By attending to home projects early in the day, we can conclude certain matters and bring various issues to resolution. We are on the ‘dark side’ of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s New Moon. This day is best served by endings rather than beginnings. By completing projects and tying up loose ends, we clear the decks and are ready for the initiations that often come with the waxing Moon. Tomorrow’s New Moon triggers a two-week period when we can make changes around our home and when we can concentrate on home and family matters. This Sunday allows us to clean up outstanding matters and provide space for new beginnings. Let’s use this day to tidy up and then give thought to the home projects and purchases we might pursue over the next two weeks.
