The astrology for this week of June 19th through the 25th of 2023 has us exiting the spring season to enter the summer season at the summer solstice, the ‘official’ start to summer and when we experience annually the longest day of daylight in the northern latitudes.
The week begins with the Moon in Cancer and a federal holiday in the US as we celebrate Juneteenth commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans. We might feel a sense of liberation and emancipation from our old ways, release from our conditioned mindset and a greater willingness to embrace a new sense of being.
The paradigm shift, which we are all going through, calls for a change in attitude, in behavior and a greater appreciation that what ‘was’ no longer ‘is’ as we adapt to a changing landscape.
Early in the week, we might feel inspired to make changes around our home, to update the manner by which we are doing things and streamline our operations so that we can be more effective with less expenditure of energy.
Mid-week has summer upon us, and we are likely to consider all our options for summertime getaways whether they include physical travel or engaging unfamiliar interests around home.
The latter part of the week and over the weekend can have us involved in various errands, projects, and routine matters. We just need to avoid trying to do too much and confusing ourselves in the process.
It’s now summertime, and we want to at least feel at times that ‘the living is easy’.
Monday, June 19th – Taking Care of Matters – Jupiter, Saturn. Monday is Juneteenth, a recent federal holiday in the US, commemorating emancipation, and liberation. The Moon is in Cancer but makes no connections to the planets today. Jupiter sextiles Saturn. We are feeling the effects of this past weekend’s Saturn turning retrograde and the Gemini New Moon, the former influence lasting until the beginning of November when Saturn turns direct, the latter providing an impact felt up to the Full Moon on the 3rd of July. This week may be slow starting, but it can be highly productive if we carefully make our plans, develop a time management itinerary, and maintain focus on what we wish to accomplish. We might attend to errands today, deal with what we need to get done with a focus on paring down our engagements. Instead of begrudging our responsibilities, we can be highly effective even if things take a little longer than we might like. The key to today and the next two weeks is for us not to get distracted by extraneous matters.
Tuesday, June 20th – In the Zone – Uranus, Neptune, Pluto. Tuesday continues with the Cancer Moon with the Moon connecting with the three transcendental planets. The Moon sextiles Uranus, the Moon trines Neptune, and the Moon opposes Pluto. If we think outside the box and employ innovative ways, this day could have us operating on all cylinders. Drawing upon our intuitive sense and being in the zone as co-creators with the universe unfolding, we might slide easily through various situations and accomplish more than we thought possible. This Tuesday can be highly productive. All that is required is making certain that we are not getting in our own way but rather being open to unexpected opportunities and taking advantage of indications as to how we can be more effective with less expenditure of energy. Towards the evening, it would be wise for us not to push our efforts beyond our capacity, for otherwise we could just exhaust ourselves. Part of working in this new paradigm is to track the energy and know when it’s best to go full bore, when to back down, and when to flip into neutral. By working in concert with the energies today, we may be operating on greased wheels, but then later in the day not only should we slow down but perhaps move into neutral. Late in the day, the Moon exits Cancer to enter Leo. Monday and Tuesday can have us focused on taking care of mundane matters. As Tuesday ends, we’re becoming more interested in fun times and formats in which to express our creative self.
Wednesday, June 21st – Good Times – Jupiter, Venus, Mercury, Mars, Summer Solstice, Sun Cancer. Wednesday has the Moon in Leo with the Moon today square Jupiter and the Moon conjunct Venus. Mercury sextiles Mars, and the Sun exits Gemini at the Summer Solstice as the Sun enters Cancer [10:58 AM EDT]. A determination to enjoy the summertime can have us going for the gold and spending the gold. If we can make plans to getaway over the summer, we are likely to do so. Intended reunions with family and friends are in the mix. It will be important for us to keep in mind the costs, not merely those upfront costs but also all the ancillary costs that have begun to creep into pricing. An old accountant saying is that “numbers don’t lie, people do.” While the powers-that-be tout that inflation has been tamed with less of an increase in inflation compared to the past year, what they do not address is the compounding effect. In that vein of misinformation, even airline flights now are not only the cost of the flight, but additional pricing later revealed for selected seating, checked luggage and sometimes even for carry-on baggage, even for printing a boarding pass at the airport. Where and how additional costs might be factored in are important considerations when we are making our summer plans. Nonetheless, we are officially in summer and looking forward to good times with good friends. We just need to be aware, mindful, and vigilant to changing circumstance which includes changes in various pricings and the liability of major cost increases.
Thursday, June 22nd – Out and About – Mars, Mercury, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course. Thursday continues with the Leo Moon with the Moon today conjunct Mars, the Moon sextile Mercury, and the Moon square Uranus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for seventeen and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before the Moon enters Virgo early on Friday morning. Astrologically and energetically, Wednesday and Thursday of this week are the two fun days. If we can determine our own course of action, then it would be suggested that we use these two midweek days to enjoy ourselves, participate in summertime activities, and make our plans for our summer re-creational engagements. The rest of the week and the weekend are better geared for dealing with errands and more mundane matters. We may feel energized on this Thursday, as if getting a second wind, and not especially interested in being stuck in place. A desire to be out and about can have us spreading our wings, exploring unfamiliar terrain, and doing something different from our usual patterns. We may have various ideas as to what to do, but an unexpected incident could upset our plans, force us to make alterations and wind up costing us more than we had anticipated. The need to be flexible and adaptable might be called upon, and it would be wise for us to remind ourselves that often the universal forces and changing circumstance have greater plans for us than we had imagined for ourselves.
Friday, June 23rd – Grin and Bear It – Sun, Saturn, Jupiter. Friday has the Moon moving into Virgo where early in the day the Moon sextiles the Sun. In the evening, the Virgo Moon opposes Saturn and then the Moon trines Jupiter. After two days when we might have put some of our tasks aside to enjoy some good times in celebration of summer, we awaken on this Friday feeling the need to tidy up, take care of matters around our home base, and deal with our responsibilities. Today and over the weekend can have us attending to errands and whatever we need to deal with. Although it may not seem like our old ‘normal’ when the week was for doing our work and the weekend for our recreational blowout, this paradigm shift has brought us into anything but normal. The more we are in synch with the energies operating, the better we shall be in tune with the universal unfolding and the easier our life is likely to be. We might be okay during the morning hours taking care of what needs to get done, but during the evening we might resent the realization that there is more to do, more obligations we need to meet. This Friday is a day for us to ‘grin and bear it’. Once we deal with any frustrations of what the weekend might portend for us, we could take a different tone and realize ‘if not now, when?’ and accept that this weekend might be best geared to deal with various projects that we have yet to complete.
Saturday, June 24th – To Do List. The Moon continues its transit of Virgo, but the Moon today makes no connections to the planets. There is not a great deal of energy today, but it would be a good day for us to keep our head down, nose to grindstone, and check off various items on our ‘to do’ list. Since there is less liability of our being distracted, we can accomplish a great deal today. This Saturday might not be an overly exciting day, but it can be a highly productive day when we get done what we need to get done. Errands, projects, and obligations may all be attended to. We just need to avoid any resentment about the tone of this day and not rush through our ‘to do’ list by sloppily checking off the items on our ‘to do’ list. Anything done by glossing over it could have us needing to redo the matter subsequently. This is a day for to go slow and steady. If we do not heed this suggestion, we could find ourselves in a world of confusion and turmoil tomorrow, on Sunday. Like a well-oiled machine, we might be highly effective today, getting things done, taking things step-by-step and not allowing anything to fall between the cracks or any specifics to be neglected. This Saturday may not be an exciting day, but it can be a highly productive day.
Sunday, June 25th – Either Or, Our Choice – Lunar Grand Trine, Uranus, Pluto, Lunar T-Square, Mercury, Neptune. Sunday is a highly interesting day, a day when we can either be at the top of our game by getting out of our own way and being receptive to greased wheels provided by the astrological energies. Or our self-importance could lead us down a bramble path of total confusion and extreme turmoil. Our choice, always our choice. On the positive level, we have the Virgo Moon triggering an Earth Grand Trine with the Moon trine Uranus in Taurus to begin the day, and the Moon trine Pluto in Capricorn to end the day. The Moon then moves into Libra late in the day. Between the Uranus aspect and the Pluto aspect, the Moon triggers a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon square Mercury in Gemini, and the Moon opposed Neptune. Mercury squares Neptune. One of our major challenges during this paradigm shift is lessening our arrogance and engaging humility by accepting our role as co-creator with the universe unfolding. If we try to push our agenda without fully taking into account the conditions and circumstances in which we find ourselves, the blowback can be severe. This Sunday could give us a prime example of the either or. Things would be a great del easier if we alter our conditioned mindset of being in control of all situations and accept that we are co-pilots of our life with the universal energies operating. We might be surprised how easy things can be when we let go of our control mindset and work with what is and what is unfolding. Like our choices, this day may either be a wonder-filled gift of surprises and ease of operations, or it might be a most confused day when we wind up tied up in knots. There is certainly a great deal of energy on this Sunday and how it works out for us depends on our choice of attitude and behavior.
