The astrology for this week of December 12th through the 18th of 2022, the last full week of the autumn season, promises a highly productive week, if we can keep our feet on the ground and not get muddled by overactive imaginations.
The week begins with us feeling that no matter what comes our way ‘we’ve got this’. A sense of ‘can do’ confidence allows us to take center stage, put our individual mark upon our activities, and feel like we’re in charge of our destiny.
If we get carried away by our self-importance and a sense of our total control over situations, we could get one of those whacks on the side of our head reminding us of the need for humility and to recognize the paradigm shift whereby we are co-creators with the universe unfolding in its most inexplicable ways.
While any liability of arrogance might taint the early part of our week, we have the ability of getting back to basics, focus on the particulars, and not get carried away by being ‘legends in our own mind’. Grounding ourselves will help dispel imaginations run amok mid-week and the latter part of the week.
Slowing things down, paying attention to details and taking things step by step would prevent us from running away with ourselves or being victim to the frenzy and frantic pace of these times.
Let’s keep in mind that Mars is transiting Gemini, Mars part of the Mutable Sign T-Square operational, and Mars can trigger impetuous actions, speaking without thinking, and a tendency to head off forcefully without either itinerary or direction in mind.
Although the second half of this week can be high intensity if we let go of reining in our more exaggerated behavior, the weekend can be a pleasant respite with family and friends as we come to Sunday evening and the beginning of Hanukkah, the Jewish festival of lights.
No matter our religious or philosophical beliefs, we need to embrace the light, bask in the light and shine the light to dispel the darkness. Not everyone is awake, many oblivious. Let’s remember that in the northern latitudes, the Winter Solstice triggers the birth of light in the darkness as we move from the darkest day of the year up to the height of daylight at the Summer Solstice.
Monday, December 12th – Expanding our Reach – Mars, Uranus, Sun, Saturn. Monday starts this week with us in top form. The Moon continues its transit of Leo with the Leo Moon later today sextile Mars and the Moon square Uranus. The Sun sextiles Saturn. This Monday could be a highly productive and effective day. Both by our presence and our attention to specifics, we can gain the admiration and assistance from other people. We have a particular shine today that may be truly appealing to other people. Even if we find ourselves in a group of people, each one of our audience will feel heard and directly addressed. While there is a great deal of energy today to advance our interests and our cause, we have to be open to unexpected variables for which we could not have accounted. The latter part of this Monday and early Tuesday reconnect us with the Saturn Uranus square as the Leo Moon triggers a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Moon square Uranus today, and the Moon opposed Saturn tomorrow. Let’s keep in mind the Taoist advice of “bend like a reed or break like an oak.” The key characteristics for navigating these tumultuous and disruptive times are flexibility and adaptability and humility. If we get carried away by ourselves or by the ease of moving ahead, we may get one of those whacks on the side of the head reminding us that we do not have all the answers, especially during this paradigm shift into asequential reality where things occur in a most unexpected manner. These times suggest we expect the unexpected.
Tuesday, December 13th – Within the Confines – Saturn, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course. Tuesday has the Moon completing its transit of Leo and as it does so the Moon also finishes its trigger of a Fixed Sign T-Square, where the Leo Moon squared Uranus on Monday, and the Moon opposes Saturn this Tuesday. The Moon then trines the Sun before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost seventeen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before the Moon enters Virgo early on Wednesday. It may be slow going as we start this Tuesday. Outstanding matters, old issues could demand attention and frustrate our plans for the day. If we would attend to any barking needs at the beginning of this day, then we could free ourselves up to focus on projects and activities that are far more to our liking. First, the need to address our duties and responsibilities and then the opportunity to draw upon a blank slate of whatever we choose to do. The next two days can be highly productive if we maintain concentration of what needs to get done. Cleaning the plate and clearing away our commitments early on this Tuesday might allow us some ’fun’ time for ourselves the rest of the day, activities that could put us on the sunny side of the street, brighten our attitude and provide the respite in order for us to be gung-ho in attending the mundane affairs of our lives on Wednesday and Thursday.
Wednesday, December 14th – Head Down, Focus – Venus, Sun, Neptune. Wednesday has the Moon entering Virgo where today the Virgo Moon trines Venus. The Sun squares Neptune. With the Moon entering Virgo and transiting the Mutable Earth Sign into Friday, we have by Sign a Grand Trine in the Earth element, affording us the opportunity of getting a lot done, being highly productive and effective in whatever we do. The main thing is for us neither to get diverted by fascinating distractions nor to get too full of ourselves by taking on too much or blithely dealing with our responsibilities haphazardly. If we would take care of what needs to get done and allow ourselves the next two days to accomplish various mundane matters, we can be highly successful in bringing completion to any number of situations. Let’s keep in mind that the holidays are upon us with the likelihood that more is going to be put on our schedule in the way of celebrations, get-togethers, shopping, and all the many additions that holiday festivities engage us. Now is a time for us to have our head down, nose to grindstone and grind out everything that we wish to accomplish before the full swing of holiday engagements get a hold of us.
Thursday, December 15th – Operating at Optimum – Lunar Grand Trine, Mercury, Uranus, Mars. Thursday continues with the Virgo Moon with the Moon today triggering an Earth Grand Trine as the Virgo Moon trines Mercury in Capricorn and the Moon trines Uranus in Taurus. The Moon also squares Mars in Gemini with an incipient Mutable Sign Grand Cross completed tomorrow when the Virgo Moon squares the Sun and the Moon opposes both Neptune and Jupiter both in Pisces. We can be operating at our optimum on this Thursday. We just have to watch that we don’t burn out the engine by trying to do too much or doing things in an impulsive, even reckless, manner. If we would put the brakes on any impetuous behavior, then we could be adept at doing things in a streamlined, effective manner. This is a day for us to think outside the box, be open to innovative ways and different trajectories, and certainly not put on blinders of self-importance. We may believe we know the way today, but our way could lead us around in circles or down a dead end. This is a day to take off blinders, work with peripheral vision, and be open to insights as to a best practices approach. It would be important for us to make our ‘to do’ list, check it twice, and consider what our priorities are, and then go about doing them in a time management and surprisingly successful manner. Today and tomorrow can be either / or days when either we can accomplish a great deal and possibly more than we could have imagined, or we wind up caught in the mania of these times. I would suggest the former and its functionality.
Friday, December 16th – Losing Ground – Pluto, Lunar T-Square, Sun, Neptune, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course. Friday continues with the Virgo Moon with the Moon trine Pluto and the Moon triggering a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Virgo Moon square the Sagittarius Sun and the Virgo Moon opposed both Neptune and Jupiter both in Pisces. The Moon then exits Virgo and enters Libra, but the Libra Moon makes no connections to the planets today. If we take into account yesterday’s Virgo Moon square Mars, then today’s T-Square is actually a Grand Cross. With the Mutable Signs activated, we could be all over the place, trying to do too much, escaping into distractions, and diverted from accomplishing much. Yes, we’re in the holidays, that time of year when people are running around, shopping, taking in the holiday decorations, enjoying spirits and largely being M.I.A. [missing in action]. If we could avoid all the crazy-making antics of the holiday celebrations and keep focused on what we need to get done, we can prioritize our activities and concentrate on the truly important and actually accomplish significant matters. The frenzy of these holidays may ratchet up as we move ahead, but we might find that the excitement of expectation is far greater than the actual event[s]. Our nervous energy may be heightened, and it would be wise for us to keep note of what we need to do, what we want to, and the order in which we wish to engage both our ‘to do’ items and our wish list.
Saturday, December 17th – Do You Hear What I Hear – Venus, Mars, Mercury, Uranus. Saturday has the Moon in Libra with the Libra Moon square both Venus and Mercury both in Capricorn, and the Moon trine Mars. Mercury trines Uranus. What a weekend to party! Although any social commitments today might seem obligatory rather than what we might choose to do, surprising developments could be exciting and make us aware of opportunities we had not been privy to. This is a good day for a reach out to other people, whether by text, phone, holiday cards, or in person at holiday gatherings. If we are shopping today, we could find interesting bargains, items for sale close to a steal. Let’s try to get into the spirit of the energies where mini-miracles and magic can be evident. While there is a liability of being overly serious in thought, even to the point of grousing, if we avoid being Eeyores or Debbie Downers, we could be amazed by how things are actually working neatly together. This is a day when we might have our head down, focused on solely what we need to do and what is right in front of us. Or we can look up to the heavens and be made aware of startling incidents and improbable thrilling options. Choice always a choice. Do you hear what I hear?
Sunday, December 18th – Light Finds a Way – Saturn, Sun, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course. Sunday continues with the Libra Moon with the Moon today trine Saturn, the Moon sextile the Sun, and the Moon square Pluto. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for five hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio late in the evening. Saturday and Sunday of this week are two days to socialize, to either get together with friends or contact them. We can do so under the guise of the holidays, this time of year when we think of friends new and old, our regular encounters and those in our memories. We may be far more interested in what is going on with other people, less self-absorbed, and enjoying experiences of other people in their life journey. This is also the day at sunset that Hanukkah begins for those of the Jewish faith, a festival of light celebrating how with only enough oil to light the lamp for one night, the oil miraculously lasted eight nights. The light cannot be doused, and the light dispels the darkness. Despite the apparent darkness of these challenging times, the light will always find a way. And so it is for us during these holidays [holy days]. Our spirit and soul, our light, will shine our way.
