August 8th – 14th, 2022

The astrology for this week of August 8th through the 14th of 2022 calls for us to rein in our enthusiasm, keep our own counsel, and be ever aware of unexpected twists and turns in situations and in peoples’ behavior.

It’s important we keep in mind that with the personal planets transiting Leo since mid-July into the first week of September, we are dealing with a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Leo planets square Uranus in Taurus and opposed Saturn in Aquarius. So much for the ‘lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer’. This summer’s days are certainly crazy with various starts and stops and frustrations all along the way. People are likely to have very short fuses, perhaps even shorter tempers, and so it is essential that we try to keep things light and not get flummoxed by the crazies of these times.

The week starts off pleasantly enough, if we have itinerary in hand and direction in mind. Our focus might be more on our future than either on our present or on our past. As if drawing from a blank slate without vapid issues imposing their distraction, we may attend to possibilities and prospects rather than outstanding matters or present responsibilities. Future speculation is often so much more enjoyable than present reality, since things seem far easier in concept than in implementation.

The mid-week period may seem dicey with blockages to our interests with us liable to be feeling at times as if we are banging our head against the wall.

Even if we feel like we are in a confusing maze, lost in a daze of a maze with no way out, let’s turn the maze into a labyrinth with the appreciation that despite various twists and turns we can eventually get to the center, whether that center be our external activities or our own internal development.

Thursday has the Aquarius Full Moon and the Fixed Sign T-Square highly enforced. Although we would prefer to put our individual mark upon our activities, we might discover that life and our personal trajectory unfold not according to our will but rather as a result of unexpected situations to which we have to react. The challenge of the paradigm shift is our letting go of the belief in our personal control over situations and instead embracing a willingness to work as co-creators with the natural unfolding of asequential reality where things occur in the most inexplicable manner.

The end of the week and the weekend might not live up to our expectations. Crazy us, for having expectations during this whirlwind period when there are times when things seem to be up, other times down, some times spun around, and still times of revving the engine while stuck in neutral. Can we say with enthusiasm: What a wonderful world?

Monday, August 8th – Dying Embers – Saturn, Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course. Monday begins this week with the Sagittarius Moon sextile Saturn and the Moon square Neptune. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for eight hours with the Moon making no further connection to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn. This is a day for us to have a plan of action in mind as we start the day. We might have the sense that the summer season is coming to a close as broadcast channels bellow out back-to-school sales, autumn preparedness and all things geared towards a return to ‘normalcy’ [whatever that term might mean presently]. We might not want the summer to end, especially if we have found this summer season to be somewhat lacking in what we had anticipated for our summer. Even if we got out of Dodge or focused on our re-creational activities over these past summer weeks, we could have experienced various frustrations, delays and needs for contingency plans as we tried to carry out our intended plans. Without an itinerary in mind for the day, we may find ourselves spinning our wheels and in a bit of a dither as to what to do and how to do it. The dying embers of our summer might be apparent, and we are likely to push for all the gusto we can muster before the summer heat turns into autumn leaves.

Tuesday, August 9th – Victim or Savior – Jupiter, Lunar Grand Trine, Mercury, Uranus, Venus, Pluto. Tuesday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today square Jupiter and the Moon triggering an Earth Grand Trine with the Capricorn Moon trine Mercury in Virgo early in the day and the Moon trine Uranus in Taurus at the end of the day. Venus opposes Pluto. Whether out of a sense of responsibility or from our compassion, we are liable to involve ourselves with other people’s issues and take on other people’s matters. We can be highly productive today, able to address on our own personal interests and even engage the problems of other people. It would be wise for us to keep in mind the wise and true saying that ‘you can help someone lift their burdens, but you cannot carry their burdens for them’. Each of us is provided challenges, burdens, with which to deal through our life journey. To take away those challenges of someone else is to deny that person the opportunity of addressing their issues and successfully resolving their challenges. Not only is our intrusion disrupting their karma, but there is something narcissistic and paternalistic in our interfering with another person’s individual destiny, as if we know best. Today is a day to be aware and vigilant of the fine line between being of assistance and being overly involved. The liability today is towards a martyr – savior complex. Let’s focus on what we can accomplish without taking on too much of either our own personal affairs or someone else’s involvements. This could be a highly productive day as long as we avoid being ‘too much’.

Wednesday, August 10th – Go Our Own Way – Mars, Neptune, Pluto, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course. Wednesday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today trine Mars, the Moon sextile Neptune, the Moon conjunct Pluto, and the Moon opposed Venus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for two hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius today. Tuesday and Wednesday can be two highly effective and productive days of this week. If we focus on what we need to get done, our tasks at hand, and not be distracted or diverted from our course of action by someone’s concerns or demands, then we could virtually move mountains on these two days. The key is for us to keep our head down and not get flummoxed by the dysfunctionality that seems to be occurring all around us. Let’s keep in mind that these times suggest we think outside the box, have contingency plans at the ready, and not get disappointed or overwhelmed if things do not go our way, the way we want them to go. While Tuesday and Wednesday can have us operating on all cylinders, if we avoid being pulled away from our focus, relationships these two days could prove dicey. Someone who does not have the same capabilities or same commitment to problem-solving as we have may prove a drain on our time and energy. Tuesday and Wednesday are best served for us by keeping our head down, doing what needs to get done, clear the decks of our obligations, and ready ourselves for the effects of Thursday’s Full Moon with its various curveballs demanding that we stay on our toes, be vigilant, and adapt to unexpected circumstance.

Thursday, August 11th – Are We Having Fun Yet? – Jupiter, Uranus, Aquarius Full Moon, Sun, Mars, Neptune, Venus Leo. Thursday is one highly energized day, largely thanks to the Aquarius Full Moon which triggers a Fixed Sign Lunar T-Square with the Moon Sun opposition both square Uranus in Taurus. The Moon sextiles Jupiter. Mars sextiles Neptune. Venus exits Cancer to enter Leo [2:30 PM EDT]. This day might replicate the fictional James Bond’s recipe for a martini: ‘shaken, not stirred’. With Uranus engaged in this Full Moon T-Square, this is a day when we might be shaken, and not stirred. It would be wise for us to expect the unexpected, various curveballs that we could hardly anticipate. We may have great plans for this Thursday with the emphasis upon our putting our personal mark on our activities, but as the saying goes: “if you want to make god laugh, tell god your plans”. It is essential that we be mindful today, vigilant and adaptable to shifting circumstance and changing conditions. Although matters may change suddenly and dramatically, our reaction time could seem like us trying to pull ourselves out of quicksand. We need to be especially careful, avoid mishaps, and recognize that unforeseen expenses could put a dent in our finances. No matter how oblivious people have been to the spiraling costs caused by inflation, this day could make us acutely aware of the damage being done to our disposable income. No matter what occurs today, it would be wise for us to have contingency plans and engage an attitude of bemusement at the Fun House antics of the universe unfolding.

Friday, August 12th – Sisyphus Like – Saturn, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course. Friday continues with the Aquarius Moon with the Moon conjunct Saturn and the Moon square Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for seven and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces today. Whether we hit the wall yesterday or the wall hit us or even if we got through Thursday unscathed, Friday could have us reeling from the effects of yesterday’s Full Moon. We all know that Full Moons are an intense time of the month, but yesterday’s Full Moon might have ratcheted up the intensity with various unexpected incidents tripping us up or unanticipated expenses adding to our costs. This Friday could have us feeling that our plans are unlikely to come to fruition. Have we lost our confidence or accepted a belief that the odds are stacked against us with the recognition of the saying by the gambling casinos: ‘the house always wins’? Even if we feel depleted as we start this Friday, in life and as indicated by astrology, timing is everything. We might feel sucker-punched, but today is not a day to push the envelope. The force may be more against us than with us today. Let’s do what we need to get done and postpone any significant matters that can wait until next week. We are still in the summer season, even if school starts and college orientations begin next week. Let’s use this Friday to catch our breath and not feel that we have to push against the grain.

Saturday, August 13th – Rational or Inspired – Mercury, Uranus. Saturday has the Pisces Moon with the Moon opposed Mercury to begin the day and the Moon sextile Uranus to end the day. Under the old paradigm of linear, sequential reality, we have been conditioned to focus on rational thought, critical analysis and empirical replication. And therein lies a problem, a problem during this paradigm shift into asequential reality where things can occur in the most inexplicable ways but even a problem in the old linear paradigm. The ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus dismissed replication with his assertion: “No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.” This Saturday can see us focusing on figuring things out based upon empirical proof only to be exposed to ‘ah-ha’ moments and startling incidents that give lie to our earlier assumptions. Saturday is likely to provide us with some interesting developments. If we are not oblivious to the streaming narrative of past months or immersed and absorbed in consensus opinion, we might recognize the shifting tenor, tone, and even truth to the narrative. The flips-flops of truth and understandings are startling but also indicative of this paradigm shift where things [even so-called ‘truth’] may change dramatically as we move along this trajectory of asequential reality. We can certainly draw upon our rational thinking, but it would be wise not to disregard inspired thought. Plans made at one moment may be valid at that particular moment, but totally inappropriate even a few minutes later. Today is one of those days when plans made in the morning hours shift considerably in the evening hours.

Sunday, August 14th – Swept Away – Neptune, Mars, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Sun, Saturn. Sunday continues with the Pisces Moon with the Moon today conjunct Neptune, the Moon sextile Mars in Taurus, and the Moon sextile Pluto in Capricorn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for five and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces and before the Moon enters Aries with the Aries Moon trine Venus at the end of the day. The Sun opposes Saturn, and Mars trines Pluto. With the roller coaster of life that has its ups and downs, Sunday could have us feeling exhausted by it all. Although our imagination is strong, it would be wise for us to concentrate on completions rather than initiations today. With the Moon finishing its transit of Pisces, the Moon is ending its monthly cycle through the Zodiac. Today is a day to take care of outstanding matters, resolve situations, and clear out the debris in our lives. If we would concentrate on our tasks, we can bring various matters to closure. Our emotions are likely to be heightened, so let’s recognize that we may be like dry sponges taking to water, our sensitivity picking up whatever is going on around us and in the world. It is essential that we focus on the positive, have faith and an upbeat attitude, and not buy into the constant drama and negativity drivel that assaults us constantly. Late in the day, we are less emotional and might get a second wind with a desire to have a good time with good friends.
