The astrology for this week of October 25th through the 31st of 2021 could have us traipsing through la-la land with liable severe consequences.
With the Sun having entered Scorpio over the past weekend, we are now enmeshed in a Fixed Sign T-Square until mid-December as the Scorpio-transiting planets trigger our year’s nemesis of the Saturn in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus. Oh joy!
The sense of the earth moving under our feet can trigger delays, frustrations, unexpected situations, and a sense of certain matters just slip sliding away with our inability to do much about it except to be flexible and adaptable to the shifting sands.
The week begins pleasantly enough. What’s not to like about having our head in the clouds and seeing everything as beautiful and all things as possible?
A sense of the idyllic is all well and good, but the drawback is any tendency for us to buy into illusions and delusions. We have to be wary that we don’t fantasize and romanticize about people or matters from our wearing rose-colored glasses and only seeing what we wish to see rather than the true reality of the situation.
The latter part of the week has the two ‘good guys’ of the planetary realm, Venus and Jupiter, in harmonious connection, all the while that we are staggering under a Fixed Sign Grand Cross engaging our year’s nemesis of the Saturn Uranus square.
The weekend has a major Sign change as Mars exits a Sign of its Detriment, Libra, to enter a Sign that Mars rules, Scorpio. As if life has not been intense enough, we could find ourselves in a backdrop of heightened anger, jealousy and a willingness by some to go for the jugular.
We end the week and the weekend by closing out the month on Halloween. Enough with the tricks! We can only hope that we are offered more treats than tricks.
Monday, October 25th – La-la Land – Lunar Grand Trine, Jupiter, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun. Monday begins the week with the Gemini Moon triggering an Air Grand Trine as the Moon trines Jupiter in Aquarius and the Moon trines Mars in Libra. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost seven hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Gemini and before the Moon enters Cancer where late in the day the Cancer Moon trines the Sun. This could be one of those days when we’re feeling and humming ‘nothing could be finer…’ We are likely to have our head in the clouds and assuming that everything is right in our world. With unbridled optimism and supreme confidence, we might be fast out of the gate as we start this day. Doesn’t matter where we are going and whether we have itinerary in hand. Once started, we are liable to have the pedal to the metal with us moving forcefully ahead. Everything is easier in concept than in implementation, but there may be no stopping us as we get our day on. If we discuss our plans, we are likely to get encouragement from other people, adding fuel to our fire. While it would be wise to apply braking action or to use this day more for planning and strategizing rather than executing, our exuberance may know no bounds. We are operating at the top of our game, or so we imagine. Imagination is a wonderful thing, but we still need to keep our feet on the ground and be realistic about our prospects.
Tuesday, October 26th – Peel Me a Grape – Uranus, Venus, Neptune. The Cancer Moon sextiles Uranus on this Tuesday, and Venus squares Neptune. While we could be innovative, streamlined and adept at taking care of things today, we are more liable to be seduced by indulgences and the good things in life. We are living during a technological revolution with various products, systems and software to make our life easier and our tasks accomplished by robotics and artificial intelligence. We can be living on easy street with hardly a care in the world. Such a sentiment does demand that we change our expectations and alter our attitude. Too many people have been engrained with the negativity of what is wrong in the world rather than appreciating all the benefits bestowed upon us living during these times. Although life is far easier than it had been for our grandparents and those before them, we still find reasons to gripe. This Tuesday may have us living in the lap of luxury and idling the day away. No major exertion today, if we can avoid it. We’d far prefer someone or one of our technological toys peel us a grape as we lean back and fantasize about what could be.
Wednesday, October 27th – Lazy Bones – Neptune, Lunar T-Square, Mercury, Pluto. The Cancer Moon today trines Neptune and the Moon triggers a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Cancer Moon square Mercury in Libra and the Moon opposed Pluto in Capricorn. We could say that we started the week off on the wrong foot, but who is to complain about all smile and giggles and a ‘feel good’ attitude to begin the week? The downside arises from yesterday and today and our tendency to be skipping merrily down the path of la-la-land. Even if people want us to attend to certain matters, we are likely to be off in our own fantasy realm, that happy, safe place where everybody likes us. Imagination is a wonder-filled thing but can also separate us from reality. Perhaps we have had too much reality over the past year plus that seems even more aggravated by the dysfunctionality we see all around us. We could either go into fear mode, anxious and worrying and seeing only dystopia ahead. And it would be easy to do with virus still on the loose, inflation spiking the cost of goods, goods scarce to find, and many people with major chips on their shoulder. Or we could tune out to the appearance of reality and engage our own fantasyland. The Rolling Stones sang about ‘mother’s little helper’, but it might seem as though each of us needs to be able to tone things down and turn on to a different frequency, and preferably one that is soothing, nourishing and reinvigorating.
Thursday, October 28th – All This and More – Mars, Lunar T-Square, Sun, Saturn, Venus, Jupiter. Thursday begins with the Cancer Moon square Mars. The Moon then exits Cancer to enter Leo where today the Leo Moon triggers a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Moon square the Sun in Scorpio, and the Moon opposed Saturn in Aquarius. Venus sextiles Jupiter. Thursday can be a push pull between what we want and what we can achieve. Our nemesis for the year, the Saturn Uranus square, is engaged today with the Moon aspecting Saturn today, and the Moon aspecting Uranus tomorrow. If we take today and tomorrow in consideration, then we are dealing with the Leo Moon triggering a Fixed Sign Grand Cross with all four Fixed Signs triggered. We may want to be on center stage, focus on our creative talents, and feel like we are in control of situations. We are liable to encounter headwinds in the form of delays and restrictions. Costs may be too much whether in financial costs, the time necessary to achieve our desired outcomes, blocked opportunities to advance our interests, or other impediments that forestall our moving smoothly and easily ahead. With the two ‘good guys’ of the astrological planetary realm, Venus and Jupiter, teasing us to have whatever we might want as richly deserved and our being entitled, we could become like little children throwing a tantrum if our wishes are not realized. Thursday into Saturday may be a period of time when we are feeling the need to express our power and control over situations, all the while that we are feeling blocked as if banging our head against the wall. We might want ‘all this and more’ during these three days, but we could also come to realize the truth to the statement ‘moderation in all things’ with us having to whittle down our expectations and be more attuned to the parameters in which we are operating.
Friday, October 29th – Getting Over Oneself – Uranus, Mercury. Friday continues with the Leo Moon with the Moon today square Uranus in the early morning hours and the day culminating with the Moon sextile Mercury in the evening hours. Yesterday had the Moon opposed Saturn and today we have the other factor in our year’s nemesis of the Saturn Uranus square with the Moon square Uranus today. There is a wise and true and cautionary saying that ‘if you want to make god laugh, tell god your plans’. Many of us were conditioned into a belief that as individuals we are the ones to make things happen in our life. That mindset was part of the old paradigm, a belief that falls apart in the paradigm shift from linear, sequential reality into asequential reality where unexpected factors are thrown into the mix and where, at best, we can only be co-creators with the universe unfolding. We are no longer masters of our domain but rather equal participants to the radical shifts and changes as our life’s journey unfolds. Increasingly, the sense of ‘expect the unexpected’ is being reaffirmed. Although we might not always like some of the curveballs thrown at us, it would be wise for us to keep in mind that letting go of trying to control every matter also opens the door to the magic and mini-miracles of these times. As we try to hold on or force things the way we believe they should be, whether as individuals or as a society, we may experience our conceived intentions blowing up in our face. We are being asked, both as individuals and as a collective society, to get over our selves. No matter our frustrations during these times, we can also enjoy the camaraderie with other people, accept a bemusement at humankind’s foibles and even chuckle at the ill-conceived projections of the powers-that-be whose implementations rival the Keystone Kops.
Saturday, October 30th – Devil in Details – Jupiter, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars, Sun, Saturn, Mars Scorpio. Saturday begins with the Leo Moon opposed Jupiter and the Moon trine Venus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for eleven hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before he Moon enters Virgo where today the Moon sextiles Mars, which has just entered Scorpio [10:21 AM EDT]. The Sun squares Saturn. With the two ‘good guys’ of the planetary realm, Venus and Jupiter, aspected by the Moon, we may have had too much of a good time on Friday and could suffer the consequences on Saturday morning. We might start this Saturday slightly out-of-sorts. We might continue to experience delays. We could feel as though we are trying to advance our interests against insurmountable impediments. This day, the 30th of October, which is Halloween Eve, is often referred to as ‘Mischief Night’ or ‘Devil’s Night’. We could continue with the sense of push pull between our desires and our reality. We can even see the past year plus with the global virus conundrum as having been devilish at best. And with people being fully vaccinated, boostered, but still coming down with the virus, we might question whether anyone truly has a handle on health issues, scientific or not. The movement of Mars from Libra, a Sign of Detriment for Mars, into Scorpio, a Sign that Mars co-rules, could increase people’s intensity, anger, rage and frustration. With both the Sun and Mars in Scorpio, we have trigger points to a Fixed Sign T-Square as the Scorpio-transiting planets square Saturn, as the Sun does today, and then opposes Uranus. Welcome to the Fun House with a call, even demand, that we maintain vigilance, be aware and mindful of the devil being in the details.
Sunday, October 31st – Forget the Tricks, Enjoy the Treats – Sun, Uranus. This Sunday is Halloween, traditionally a time when the dimensions seem to collapse and opens the door to entities from other realms — ghosts, goblins, saints, martyrs, ancestors, and others who have passed over previously. The veil between dimensions is a great deal thinner as we open our consciousness to the possibility of realities beyond our mere mundane. This Sunday has the Virgo Moon sextile the Sun, and the Moon trine Uranus. We may have had enough tricks to last us a while. We are now looking for treats, and if we would take off blinders and be open to the magic of these times, we might enjoy some surprising encounters. We are not interested in accumulating more stuff. On the contrary, we might be focused more on the truly significant with a whiff of adventure that allows us to take into account options and alternatives we have not previously considered. Magic is afoot on this Halloween, so let’s enjoy the unexpected and thrilling as it adds spice to our life.
