The astrology for this week of March 15th through the 21st of 2021 brings closure to the winter season and the beginning of the spring season and the start of a new astrological year.
‘Out with the old, in with the new’ can have greater significance this year than past years. We are on the threshold and crossing into a new paradigm. While this paradigm shift can be challenging until we get our proverbial ‘sea legs’ [or ‘see legs’], let’s keep in mind the promise of the spring season. Renewal, renaissance and new births are all the promise of spring, both in nature and in ourselves.
The week begins with us champing at the bit to get going with our spring activities. With Mercury exiting Aquarius to enter Pisces later on Monday, we end the Stellium in Aquarius and fortify the Stellium in Pisces as Mercury joins the Sun, Venus and Neptune in the Mutable Water Sign. With Mercury entering Pisces, Mercury enters a Sign of its Detriment where clear, logical thinking is liable to be replaced by emotional thoughts and moody feelings.
If we would match our intuitive sense with a practical approach, we could be highly effective early in the week, focused on the most important matters, and tying up loose ends of this passing year before we get the fiery thrust from the Vernal Equinox and the start of the spring season on the weekend.
We can virtually move mountains during the mid-week period, but it might be wiser to focus on our present responsibilities and outstanding matters before forging ahead into new territories.
Much of this week is best served by focus, concentrating on the specifics and details that go towards clearing the decks and preparing the ground for our new endeavors.
The end of the week and the weekend might be a free-for-all, as we lift our head from what we needed to get done and now consider a wide realm of possibilities we could engage.
The spring season begins with the Vernal Equinox on Saturday as the Sun ends its transit of Pisces and enters Aries, as the Sun exits the last Sign of the Zodiac and enters the first Sign of the Zodiac, and in doing so the Sun ends one astrological year and heralds the astrological new year.
With the Sun entering the Cardinal Fire Sign, we finally pick up some Fire. Having lacked the Fire Element since the second week of January, except for the Moon’s monthly transits through the Fire Signs, this infusion of Fire by the Sun entering Aries on Saturday, followed on Sunday by Venus entering Aries, gives us some ‘fire in our belly’.
Venus is in Detriment in Aries, for relationships might center more on our personal desires with a sense of ‘what have you done for me lately?’ rather than collaborative and mutually supporting interactions. We may be a great deal more self-focused, but we have to be wary of becoming self-absorbed to the point of being narcissistic.
We can take machete in hand to initiate new projects and new directions, but it would be wise to keep in mind the paradigm shift and be open to the sudden shifts and unexpected changes likely to occur around us. Surprises and ‘ah-ha’ moments can close out the weekend and offer a reminder that we are living in an asequential reality where things can occur in a random, even inexplicable, manner. Let’s call it the new game in living.
Monday, March 15th – With the Wind to our Back – Jupiter, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury Pisces. Monday begins the week with the Aries Moon sextile Jupiter to start the day, and the Moon square Pluto to end the day. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for seven hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aries and before the Moon enters Taurus Tuesday morning. Mercury exits Aquarius to enter Pisces [6:26 PM EDT]. The Mercury exit of Aquarius ends the Stellium in the Fixed Air Sign and reinforces the Stellium in the Mutable Water Sign as Mercury enters Pisces. Mercury in Pisces is in Detriment with a liability towards our thoughts being highly emotional and moody. We start the day with a major thrust of energy, possibly feeling invincible and as if nothing can get in our way or thwart our plans. We may be riding high during much of this day, but as evening approaches we might feel as though there are certain impediments, even our own sense of vulnerability, impinging upon our confidence. As many of us have noted, our emotions and our energies have been quite a whipsaw over the past few months. There are times when we feel we could conquer the world, or at least master our own domain; other times when we feel that the odds are stacked against us and that no matter what we do situations arise that block our forward movement. The key to these times and to life itself is flexibility and adaptability and seeking the balance between extreme optimism and extreme despair. Often, we can get ahead of ourselves, and this Monday might reminder us that there are certain matters that need to be resolved and gotten out of the way before we can advance unencumbered by old matters, stale situations.
Tuesday, March 16th – Engage Brain, Move Ahead – Mercury, Uranus, Sun, Pluto. Tuesday has the Moon moving into Taurus where early today the Moon sextiles Mercury, and at the end of the day the Moon conjuncts Uranus. The Sun sextiles Pluto. This is a day when we could accomplish a great deal. Proper planning and time management skills can grease the wheels for easy and successful accomplishment. Today would be a good day for us to clear out and clean up in preparation of the advent of spring. We are able to figure out what needs to go and what to concentrate on. We may feel impelled to straighten things up. If we would take the time to visualize what are unnecessary involvements and what our priorities are, we could cut away the dross and prepare to forge ahead with our most meaningful projects. Today is not a day to waste, since our attention is geared to what works for us and what does not. Late in the day, surprising developments might offer ways to streamline our operations and be more effective with less expenditure of energy. A primo day, this Tuesday, if we will only blend brain and brawn together. Let’s keep in mind that we are wrapping up the end of the astrological year, and the more we can declutter, the more we will be able to forge ahead with our new trajectories without excesses slowing us down or holding us back.
Wednesday, March 17th – Snakes-alive – Saturn. Wednesday has the Taurus Moon square Saturn. This Wednesday is St. Patrick’s Day, a day when we’re all Irish. It’s a fine day for corned beef, cabbage, carrots, and boiled potatoes and a Guinness to wash it all down. Although it is said that Saint Patrick drove the ‘snakes’ [i.e., non-believers] out of Ireland, we may have greater difficulty today dealing with impediments to our plans and with substantial costs liable to accrue. The Taurus Aquarius square, highlighted by the Uranus transiting Taurus and Saturn transiting Aquarius square that dogs us all year long, is triggered today. We may feel frustrated by news that we hear, find non-believers to our future intentions, and feel thwarted by not being able to make things happen the way we want them to. It would be wise for us to keep in mind my analogy of the suspension bridge whereby we lay down slat by slat to get to the other side of our future and our goals but with the recognition that we occasionally have to go back in order to truly move ahead. This Wednesday could be one of those days. What we have to watch for is the assumption that by throwing money at situations we can solve the problem. Not everything is like that. Instead, if we encounter problems today, let’s see them as braking actions, giving us pause to reflect, reconsider and re-evaluate what we are doing and why we are doing it. And let’s always keep in mind that during this paradigm shift, the modus operandi has dramatically changed. We no longer have to force things, nor always capable of changing things, to suit our whims or to our will. We are living during magical times when things happen in the most extraordinary ways and often to our greater benefit than we could have possibly imagined.
Thursday, March 18th – One Step at a Time – Jupiter, Neptune, Venus, Pluto, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course. Thursday continues with the Taurus Moon with the Moon square Jupiter, the Moon trine Pluto, and the Moon sextile three of the Pisces-transiting planets — Neptune, Venus and the Sun. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for three hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Taurus and before the Moon enters Gemini late in the day. Venus sextiles Pluto. The early morning hours gives us another dose of the Taurus Aquarius square as the Moon squares Jupiter. We may feel confident about our plans but without considering the ways and wherefores as to achieve our goals. We might feel as though we are living in magical times [which we are] and that everything will fall neatly into place [it will but possibly not according to our plan]. Fortunately, a willingness to go slow and to observe what is truly going on with a large dose of patience could go a long way towards realizing our goals. Drawing upon wise counsel of someone who is detached and consequently objective to our plans can help us fine tune the specifics, address the details and take things one step at a time. This is a day for us to draw upon our inner knowing, our intuitive sense, and to be one with what we wish to accomplish. Creative visualization is a powerful tool, a tool used by the 1969 Miracle Mets, who won the World Series that year after the previous seven seasons never having had a winning season and never having finished higher than ninth in the ten-team National League. Before each game, the Amazins, as they were nicknamed, would visualize each pitch, each batter, and each play before their games. We may not be aware of all the curveballs that might come our way, but visualizing, preparing and planning our strategy today could go a long way to a highly productive and successful day.
Friday, March 19th – Get your Motor Running – Mercury, Mars, Saturn. The Gemini Moon today squares Mercury, the Moon conjuncts Mars, and the Moon trines Saturn. We might start this Friday slightly out of sorts. We have the energy to expend, but we might be questioning in which direction to go. Miscues, misunderstandings and misdirections may create confusion early in the day. Instead of rushing out the door as if there’s no time to lose, it would be better for us to plan out our day. Otherwise, we could get so caught up in the frenzy that we find ourselves racing around, going from one thing to another, but without much rhyme or reason. With the weekend coming and this being the last day of the winter season, we might feel compelled to do any number of things but liable to doing so in a haphazard manner. Late in the day, we could get more of a grip on things and possibly with the support and advice of a trusted friend. We just might have too much going on earlier in the day with many of our involvements liable to wind up as dead ends or unfinished business. Our energy may be ramped up today, but let’s be aware of how best to expend it. A social get-together late in the day can be a pleasant crescendo to a winter that we are happy to see over. We are starting a weekend that can have us getting a second wind with an attitude of ‘happy being alive’.
Saturday, March 20th – Dawning of a New Day, New Year – Jupiter, Neptune, Vernal Equinox, Sun Aries. The Moon continues its transit of Gemini with the Moon today trine Jupiter, and the Moon square Neptune. The major astrological event for this day is what we have been waiting for… waiting for it… the advent of spring. The Sun exits Pisces to enter Aries [5:37 AM EDT] to start the spring season, and to begin the astrological new year. Having lacked the Fire Element since the second week of January, except for the Moon’s monthly transits through the Fire Signs, this infusion of Fire by the Sun entering Aries today, and followed by Venus entering Aries tomorrow, gives us some ‘fire in our belly’. We can be highly optimistic, hopeful of better days ahead. We do have to be wary of blind faith that everything will go the way we hope it will. Exuberance and enthusiasm are all positive attitudes, but we have to avoid them making us vulnerable to becoming marks to the scammers or lemmings to the way of the crowd. While we can be pumped up and excited about new beginnings that the spring season promises, we do need to keep our wits about us and not fall prey to illusions or deceptions.
Sunday, March 21st – Firing on All Cylinders – Venus, Sun, Mercury, Uranus, Mars, Saturn, Venus Aries. Sunday begins with the Gemini Moon square Venus just before the Moon exits Gemini to enter Cancer and before Venus exits Pisces to enter Aries [10:16 AM EDT]. With Fire added to our astrological configurations, first by the Sun yesterday and today Venus both entering Aries, we could have a sense over this weekend that ‘everything’s coming up roses’. The Venus exit of Pisces ends the Stellium in the Mutable Water Sign and Venus enters a Sign of its Detriment where relationships are liable to suffer by our being self-absorbed tending towards narcissism. We needn’t go there if we can appreciate that each of us contributes something worthwhile to life and to our living. Not only do we have a greater thrust of energy and more interest in finding venues for our self-expression and self-fulfillment. We can gain some ‘ah-ha’ moments, those revelations regarding the best course of action and how we could streamline our operations. Like nature itself, we can feel a reawakening, coming back to life, less inhibited, more self-assertive and self-assured. We are ready to engage our rebirth and in our renaissance a willingness to advance our future interests in the most expeditious manner possible. We just have to be wary not to step on any toes in the process.
