The astrology for this week 0f December 28th, 2020, through January 3rd, 2021, can have our anxiety heightened as we end this godawful year of 2020, but the energy then shifts dramatically with us focused on good times and celebrations as we cross the threshold into 2021.
We start the week in a bit of a dither. With all sorts of conflicting information coming our way and our concerns heightened regarding how we can move forward, we might want to shut off our mind to the static and concentrate instead on the end of 2020 and the beginning of a new year with its blank slate and all its promise of potentials and possibilities.
2020 in numerology has been a master year, a 22 year, the year indicative of the ‘master builder’. For many of us, this year offered in its lockdowns, restrictions and fear mongering the opportunity to go on a spiritual retreat. With many of our daily distractions muted, we could reflect on our personal lives, contemplate what we had been doing and how we had been doing it, and determine what was truly essential in our lives and what was merely ways to pass the time. Each of us had the time to consider how we might change our trajectories under the radically altered backdrop of society. We could take into account how we would ‘build upon rock rather than upon sand’ in our days ahead.
Before the year is out, we can resolve to conclude certain matters that have little meaning now for us.
The New Year’s activities may be highly festive, whether we are gathering in person, on Zoom, or just celebrating on our own.
We start the long holiday weekend with our creative juices flowing and our desire to have fun. We might resolve this new year of 2021 to be one when we are engaging good times, expressing our talents and our abilities, and committed to our individuality and freedom of movement.
We could be on a ‘high’ as we start the new year, but let’s not forget the messes that have been stirred up that still need to be resolved and the liability of intense actions during this first quarter of 2021.
Monday, December 28th – Here, There, Everywhere – Lunar T-Square, Venus, Neptune, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course. The week begins with the Moon in Gemini and with the Gemini Moon today triggering a Mutable Sign T-Square as the Moon opposes Venus and the Moon squares Neptune. Late in the day, the Moon sextiles Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for seven and a half hours as the Moon finishes its transit of Gemini without making any further connections to the planets and before the Moon enters Cancer early Tuesday morning. We could be all over the place on this Monday. We might have had an extended weekend with Christmas this past Friday and getting back on track this Monday can be something we have no interest in doing. On the contrary, we may reach out to people that we forgot to contact over the Christmas holiday. We might be more interested in our personal connections than getting much done. We are able to justify our holiday lassitude, for this week bookends the two holidays of Christmas and New Year’s, often a period when people take time off or else are less than functional if back in their routine. Late in the day, we can become more directed, better able to prioritize what we wish to accomplish and less liable to running around in circles.
Tuesday, December 29th – Necessary Changes – Uranus, Cancer Full Moon, Sun. Tuesday begins with the Moon moving into Cancer, where today the Moon sextiles Uranus, and late in the day the Moon opposes the Sun at the Cancer Full Moon [10:28 PM EST]. Let’s keep in mind that these are disruptive, tumultuous times and consequently things can happen in a most unexpected manner. Not all the unexpected situations are negative, and today we might be pleasantly surprised. This is a good day for us to make the necessary changes in preparation to be fast out of the gate as we start the new year. Fixing things up around our home, buying necessary equipment to upgrade our technology, and streamlining our operations can be important activities that ready us for an effective and productive year ahead. The sense of ‘out with the old and ready for the new’ is a great sentiment to engage today. We can take care of mundane responsibilities and clear the decks to have more of a blank slate to draw upon once we get settled into the new year.
Wednesday, December 30th – Deceptive Measures – Mercury, Neptune, Venus. Wednesday continues with the Cancer Moon with the Moon today opposed Mercury, and the Moon trine Neptune. Venus squares Neptune. Clarity may be lacking on this Wednesday, and we have to be careful not to buy into the hype or the narrative without doing our due diligence. We could easily fool ourselves or deceive ourselves by seeing things the way we want them to be rather the way that they actually are. Or we could buy into the bill of goods being sold to us by the powers-that-be. There can be minimal discrepancy between true reality and appealing fantasy today. This is a day when infatuations could turn sour. Empiricism might not prove a valid measure of things. We may have to draw upon our intuitive sense, but without emotion, rather than base our opinions on rational judgment. By sensing things out, we can come to a better understanding of things, but this could also be a day for us to draw upon our own counsel and our own instincts rather than the input of someone else or consensus opinion.
Thursday, December 31st – Eve of a New Beginning – Lunar T-Square, Pluto, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Lunar T-Square, Saturn, Jupiter. Thursday is New Year’s Eve, the last day of 2020, a year which many of us are more than ready to see go. Today, the Cancer Moon creates a Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Pluto, and the Moon square Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for five hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Cancer and before the Moon enters Leo where today the Moon opposes both Saturn and Jupiter both in Aquarius as part of a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Leo Moon square Uranus early tomorrow. Just as this year has been challenging with its various regulations imposed due to the virus response, this last day of 2020 refuses to go out gently and quietly into the night. On the contrary, we might find that whatever plans we have to celebrate New Year’s Eve are impacted by the restrictions enforced. We may start the day in preparation for the evening festivities, but we could also find ourselves having to make various twists and turns in accordance with prevailing conditions. While we are geared up for intense celebrations and good times to welcome the new year, not everything is likely to go according to plan. Having contingency plans would be advised in order for us not to be frustrated or disappointed if things don’t work out the way we wish. We are all probably ‘up’ for a boisterous celebration after this intense year, but even a simple acknowledgment to the ending of the old and the beginning of the new can be a grand salute.
Friday, January 1st – Then Let’s Keep Dancing – Uranus, Mercury, Neptune. Friday is the first day of 2021, and we are likely to embrace the birth of the year with grand salutations. ‘Out with the old, in with the new’ is a sentiment that could never have been so heartily embraced as today. This New Year begins with the Leo Moon square Uranus, completing the Fixed Sign T-Square that began yesterday when the Leo Moon opposed Saturn and Jupiter both in Aquarius. Mercury sextiles Neptune. Despite expenses and unexpected frustrations that might have had us ending 2020 and beginning 2021, we are resolved to make this new year a far better time of it than we experienced during this past year. Even if we don’t normally make new year resolutions, this is one tradition we are likely to engage this year. A blend of our intuition with our reasoning mind could determine the trajectories we intend to walk down during this coming year. We are well aware of the conditions of the paradigm shift where things can occur in a most unexpected manner. We might even acknowledge the truth to the sentiment that ‘if you want to make god laugh, tell god your plans’. Yet, during the tumult and disruptions to our lives that we might have encountered during this past year, we may have also learned greater flexibility and adaptability to the shifting sands. Today is a day to harness our better understanding of how life presently works and how we can intend our future course always with a recognition that we might have to shift and change our direction or our intended destination. As the saying goes: ‘life’s too mysterious, don’t take it serious’.
Saturday, January 2nd – Fast Out of the Gate – Lunar Grand Trine, Venus, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course. No grass is likely to grow under our feet as we start this new year of 2021. Saturday has the Leo Moon triggering a Fire Grand Trine as the Moon trines Venus in Sagittarius and the Moon trines Mars in Aries. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for three hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before the Moon enters Virgo with the Virgo Moon tomorrow triggering a Grand Trine in the Earth Element. Saturday and Sunday can get us fast out of the gate with us determined to put our individual mark on this new year. We may have been held down, held back, restricted and locked down during this past year, but no more. After repeated warnings, fear mongering and now a vaccine intended to alleviate concern over the virus, our sense could be that we have heard it all before and that we are exhausted from the haranguing and the devastating financial impact that reactions to this virus have caused. Many people may feel ‘enough already’ and are committed to taking a more active role in their personal choices and in their decisions with less interference from the edicts imposed by the powers-that-be. After an extended period of contraction to our personal lives, we might determine this year to be an expansion in our personal affairs. Certainly, with both Jupiter and Saturn transiting Aquarius, we are more in tune with the individual expression, the freedom and liberation that this Sign warrants. People are looking to get their lives back as we enter 2021.
Sunday, January 3rd – Plan in Action – Lunar Grand Trine, Uranus, Sun. From the impetus of self-expression that we may have gained yesterday from the Fire Grand Trine, Sunday allows us to consider the logistics by which to implement our plan of action. Sunday has the Virgo Moon triggering a Grand Trine in the Earth Element with the Virgo Moon trine Uranus in Taurus and the Moon trine the Sun in Capricorn. We can devise a best practices approach by which to realize our goals for this year. We have harnessed our individual firepower to concentrate on our personal will yesterday, and today we can take our determination and focus on how to best express our spirit into action. This weekend is a powerful combination of brawn and brain as we merge our intentions with a ‘right’ course of action. Nothing is likely to fall between the cracks, for we are looking at the big picture, all the details that compose the whole, and willing to utilize the most streamlined methodology to get things done. In deed, we are truly geared from the very start to make this a happy new year.
