August 4th – 10th, 2025

The astrology for the week of August 4th through the 10th, 2025, gives us the last full week of this three-week Mercury retrograde cycle, and by now, many of us may be exclaiming, “enough already!”  Challenged, frustrated, or simply depleted, we may be feeling the weight of miscommunications, delays, and mental fatigue that often accompany Mercury retrograde.  Yet this week presents a turning point.

The week begins with brightness and optimism, then dives into heavier emotional waters before rising again toward the weekend in a wave of visionary possibilities and transformative energy. The planets are dancing, and we are called to follow, albeit with mindfulness and an open heart.

We begin the week on a high note.  If we can free ourselves from the shackles of duty and responsibility, we might revel in a sense of release.  The phrase “good day, sunshine” may well describe our mood as we start off with the Sagittarius Moon in harmony with the Leo Sun. Our spirits are lifted, and the world feels a bit lighter.  Creativity, joy, and personal expression are at a peak.

Yet the brightness of Monday dims as we move into Tuesday and Wednesday.  Even if we are technically still on vacation or away from routine, the undercurrent of “real life” returning might begin to stir. The astrological weather suggests a period of challenge, a sense of being knocked about like a pachinko ball — ricocheting between tasks, responsibilities, and emotional demands.  This emotional dissonance is emphasized by the Capricorn Moon forming a Cardinal T-Square with Saturn, Neptune, Venus, and Jupiter.

Mars also makes a significant move this week, leaving detail-oriented Virgo and entering relationship-focused Libra.  This shift marks a drop in personal assertiveness and a turn toward diplomacy and partnership. Mars in Libra, a sign of its Detriment, suggests a more passive and cooperative energy.  Our drive is tempered, our actions more considered, and our ambitions softened by a desire for peace.

Thursday provides a welcome reprieve.  As the Moon moves into Aquarius and forms a Grand Trine in Air, we are gifted with insight, inspiration, and new ways of seeing.  Conversations sparkle, ideas ignite, and possibilities expand.  This is a day to lift our gaze toward the future and consider roads not previously taken.  The presence of Uranus, Saturn, and Mars in harmonious alignment allows us to perceive fresh perspectives, inviting us to navigate forward with clarity.

But just as new visions emerge, so too do obstacles.  Naysayers or inner doubts may appear, challenging our growth.   These opposing forces test our resolve and require us to trust in something greater than ourselves.  Our faith in the unfolding of a higher path becomes vital.  This is the essence of the hero’s / heroine’s journey – the beginning of a bold transition, the initial steps into our personal mythos.

The weekend brings the most potent energetic charge of the week. Mars forms aspects with all three transcendental planets: Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. These connections serve as a spiritual ignition switch.  While external circumstances may appear chaotic or uncertain, the cosmos is providing us with the power and the path – if we are willing to trust the process and stay open to signs, synchronicities, and surprises.

Saturday’s Full Moon in Aquarius illuminates a spectrum of possibility. This Full Moon marks the culmination of the intentions set at the Leo New Moon on July 24th.  Back then, we anticipated a wave of technological breakthroughs, and that has certainly come to pass. Neuralink’s success in allowing a paralyzed woman to write her name with her thoughts and rapid developments across AI platforms echo the future-forward themes of Aquarius.  The Full Moon now urges us to integrate these visionary tools and platforms into our own path forward.

The message of this Full Moon?  Be creative, be curious, and don’t be afraid to consult the broader network – be it people, technology, or spirit.  Answers exist, often outside of us.  Today invites collaboration with the unknown and with forces larger than ourselves.

As Sunday rounds out the week, the Pisces Moon brings sensitivity, dreams, and potential emotional overwhelm.  The Moon squares Uranus, and Mars completes its Air Grand Trine with Pluto, forming a kite pattern that places Neptune at the focal point. Mars opposes Neptune, reminding us that clarity and confusion may dance hand in hand.  Emotions could be high, and unexpected turns may test our resolve.

Yet if we can embrace the essence of the times – that we are no longer navigating through old paradigms but rather co-creating with an unfolding universe – then we can steer with intention, guided by our own intuition and universal flow.  Mercury retrograde ends tomorrow, and we stand at a threshold. Flexibility, adaptation, and faith become our best allies.

This week asks us to embrace contradiction: vision and confusion, opportunity and doubt, action and surrender.  In the new paradigm, all these truths can exist simultaneously.  The universe isn’t asking us to control it, but to listen, trust, and respond with awareness.  The hero’s / heroine’s path has opened.

Monday, August 4th – Good Day, Sunshine – Sun

The Sagittarius Moon trines the Leo Sun, bathing the day in optimism, playfulness, and exuberance. If ever there were a day to skip out on obligations and follow our bliss, this would be it. Creativity, adventure, and spontaneous fun rule the moment. Even if we choose to stay home, engaging in artistic pursuits or lighthearted activities will satisfy our need for expression and joy. Demands and the imposing calls of responsibilities can wait until tomorrow and midweek. This Monday is a day to ‘carpe diem’ [seize the day].

Tuesday, August 5th – No More Postponements – Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Lunar T-Square, Saturn, Neptune

The Sagittarius Moon squares Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for an hour and a half with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn where today the Moon triggers a two-day Cardinal Sign T-Square with the Capricorn Moon square both Saturn and Neptune both in Aries today, and the Moon opposed both Venus and Jupiter tomorrow. Even if we try to attend to certain mundane matters early in the day, our heart may not be in our endeavors. On the contrary, we could be slipshod in our efforts, glossing over significant details and with a resentful attitude. We may feel pressured to put our toys away and return to responsibility.  A sense of malaise or low energy could accompany the shift.  Despite it being August, the back-to-school feeling looms.  We are pulled between our desire for fun and the call of duties and deadlines.

Wednesday, August 6th – Homeward Bound – Lunar T-Square, Venus, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars

Wednesday continues with the Moon’s transit through Capricorn with the Capricorn Moon today completing the Cardinal Sign T-Square begun yesterday. Yesterday had the Moon square both Saturn and Neptune both in Aries; today the Moon opposes both Venus and Jupiter. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for thirty-one and a half hours, bringing a sense of drift or disorientation with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes is transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius Thursday afternoon. Mars exits Virgo to enter Libra [7:23 PM EDT], a Sign of Detriment for Mars where our energetic, physical energy and self-assertiveness becomes muted to being more passive, collaborative and seeking to be conciliatory rather than decisive. The two ‘good guys’ of the planetary realm, Venus and Jupiter, are engaged today with a liability of feeling restricted by our home and family obligations. Today is a good time to tie up loose ends and prepare mentally for what’s ahead.  We might feel that summer is slipping away, calling us back to the rhythms of everyday life.

Thursday, August 7th – Ways Forward – Moon Void-of-Course, Lunar Grand Trine, Mars, Uranus, Saturn

The day begins quietly under the Void-of-Course Moon as the Moon completes its transit of Capricorn with no further connections to the planets.  But as the Moon enters Aquarius and forms a Grand Trine in Air with Mars in Libra and Uranus in Gemini, the evening becomes electric.  Ideas crackle, conversations inspire, and a window opens to new paths and possibilities.  The Moon also sextiles Saturn, providing grounding and a sense of practical structure for our visionary plans. This is an evening to think big, collaborate, and plan boldly.   Thursday evening initiates an exciting period that runs through the weekend when our world can broaden and we might see how we could streamline our operations, be more effective with less expenditure of energy, and have a totally clear perspective on ways to move forward on our present course or a totally different trajectory. The three transcendental planets of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are all engaged, allowing us to get out of our own way and be open to receive the magic of the universe.  Our future is now.

Friday, August 8th – Fast Out of the Gate – Neptune, Pluto, Mercury, Mars, Mars Grand Trine, Uranus, Saturn

The Aquarius Moon sextiles Neptune and conjuncts Pluto, while opposing Mercury.  Mars forms a trine to Uranus and an opposition to Saturn.  The Air Grand Trine is active with the Libra Mars trine Uranus in Gemini today, Mars trine Pluto in Aquarius Sunday.  We can be fast out of the gate today, ready to put spirit into action. The main challenge for all of us during this paradigm shift is adapting our mindset, ridding ourselves of the old belief that we are in total control of our circumstance and instead accepting our role as co-creators with the universe unfolding and being in synch with the asequential reality of this paradigm shift where things can happen in the most inexplicable ways. There’s a rush of energy and insight, but also a potential clash between vision and reality.  If we resist the urge to control and instead go with the cosmic flow, we can discover innovative solutions.  We may find ourselves on a sort of cosmic scavenger hunt, with surprising opportunities showing up where we least expect and leading us into ‘right action’ in which way to go.

Saturday, August 9th – Enlightened Moon – Aquarius Full Moon, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars, Neptune

The Aquarius Full Moon when the Moon opposes the Sun peaks early in the morning [3:55 AM EDT].  The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for twenty-three hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces early Sunday morning.  Mars continues its Air Grand Trine in effect and triggers a kite pattern chart with Mars trine Uranus yesterday and Mars trine Pluto tomorrow with Mars opposed Neptune today. The kite pattern chart has the Mars Grand Trine, Mars opposed Neptune, and Neptune sextile Pluto on one side and Neptune sextile Uranus on the other side. The kite pattern points us toward a more spiritual, intuitive path forward.  We are invited to release control and allow higher guidance to lead us.  Use this day for brainstorming, ideation, and spiritual downloads.  Full Moons are culminations of a two-week cycle that begin with the New Moon, in this case the Leo New Moon back on the 24th of July. I had suggested back then the likelihood of technological wizardry evidenced during this two-week period, and we certainly have had glimmers of it. The times they are a’changing.  We may not always know the answer, but the answer is out there, and we can draw upon the input from various sources to provide us clues along our way. This Saturday is a highly creative day and one to explore and investigate a wide range of our possibilities.

Sunday, August 10th – Dogged Determination- Uranus, Mars, Pluto

The Moon exits Aquarius and enters Pisces where today the Pisces Moon squares Uranus, triggering emotional ripples and unexpected developments.  Mars trines Pluto, finishing its energetic activation of the transcendental planets.  We might begin the day off-kilter, but there’s an opportunity to regain our footing.  If we stay focused, adapt quickly, and trust the deeper process at work, we can make tremendous progress.  Unexpected situations might force us to adjust our plans, but it would be wise to keep in mind that these times suggest that ‘we adapt or die’.  If we can get a grip on our emotions, buck up, and are willing to change our course of action, then we can move forward with dogged determination towards our greatest ambitions.  Once we regain our composure, our perseverance and our willingness to go full throttle then nothing is likely to stop us. These days from Friday through Sunday encourage us to consider our options, draw upon the suggestions from outside sources, and once we have decided on what we wish to do, to go forward, all the while that we keep aware of the conditions in which we find ourselves.   We need to maintain awareness, mindfulness, shift when necessary, and adjust as called for.  Prepare for Mercury to end its retrograde cycle tomorrow. Clarity is on the horizon.

This week is a microcosm of the greater paradigm shift underway. We are not simply navigating this terrain alone; we are co-creating with forces far greater than ourselves.  Astrology reminds us that we are always in conversation with the cosmos. It would be wise for us to listen closely and allow the stars to guide our steps.
