The astrology for this week of June 16th through the 22nd of 2025 has us coming into the summer season when the living is supposed to be easy, at least that was the way it might have been once, not so much now.
The week can start with us rushing around but with a liability of impetuous actions and the likelihood of an increase in traffic accidents. It would be wise for us to slow things down at the beginning of the week and think before we act.
Mars exits Leo to enter Virgo on Tuesday and begins a seven-week transit when we could be highly effective and productive with all the varied details of our lives. The exit of Mars from Leo also ends the Mars Pluto opposition that has dogged us on and off since November of last year. Instead of grandstanding and narcissistic behavior, people may be more astute to what needs to get done and willing to go ahead and do it.
Mid-week might prove dicey. If we feel blocked or like we have been sucker punched, we need to be careful how we lick our wounds. Escapism may be tempting but provides only momentary relief with dire consequences of self-recrimination afterwards.
The latter part of the week has the Summer Solstice, as the Sun enters Cancer. We have maximum daylight in the northern latitudes, and we officially enter the summer season [as if we hadn’t already begun our summertime with the long Memorial Day holiday weekend].
The weekend is geared to home projects, fixing things up around our home, feathering our nest, and barbecues and relaxations in our personal sanctuary.
We are less likely to indulge excess, except possibly on Wednesday, and more likely to take things in measured movements. We can be highly accomplished in our endeavors, both taking care of what we need to address and developing future plans.
Monday, June 16th – Dog Chasing Tail – Sun, Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Jupiter. Monday begins this week with the Moon completing its transit of Aquarius. The Aquarius Moon today trines the Sun and the Moon triggers a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Aquarius Moon square Uranus and the Moon opposed Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for thirty minutes with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces where today the Moon trines Jupiter. The day starts brilliantly enough with us feeling at the top of our game and enjoying scintillating conversations. As we proceed, however, we might feel that we’ve hit a wall. Unexpected situations can be challenging, and we might try to push ahead forcefully and experience a nasty blowback in consequence. Aggressive actions may result in accidents or ill-conceived movements that could prove costly in both time and money. This is a day for us to temper our enthusiasm, cool our jets, and be astute to what is going on and adept at handling any surprising developments. The evening hours lighten the mood and our load. We can enjoy a pleasant evening in the sanctuary of our home. We need to be wary that we don’t release any frustrations by indulging to excess.
Tuesday, June 17th – Getting Serious – Venus, Mercury, Mars Virgo. Tuesday has the Pisces Moon sextile Venus early in the day, and the Moon trine Mercury in the evening. Mars exits Leo to enter Virgo [4:35 AM EDT]. This Tuesday can be a highly productive day. We are less rambunctious as we might have been yesterday. For the next seven weeks with the Mars transit of Virgo, we are able to concentrate on the specifics, deal with the details, and be highly attuned to getting things done. What a time of year to have Mars going through Virgo when normal summertime encourages us to lay back and enjoy ourselves with fun events and recreational activities. But normal has gone by the boards as we move through this paradigm shift of asequential reality where things occur in the most unexpected manner and can change dramatically from one moment to the next. We can be more focused now with Mars in Virgo, but we do need to be wary of a perfectionist tendency and a critical tenor to our attitude. Although the Mars Virgo transit is welcome to get things done, we could get bogged down in the minutiae and find ourselves in neutral, spinning our wheels. Let’s use the increased Earth element to deal with our mundane reality without overly critiquing. It is best for us to keep in mind the thesis of Wabi-sabi with the sentiment of ‘perfection of imperfection.’
Wednesday, June 18th – World of Confusions – Sun, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Saturn, Jupiter, Neptune. Wednesday has the Moon completing its transit of Pisces with the Pisces Moon square the Sun and the Moon sextile Uranus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for an hour and a half with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Pisces and before the Moon enters Aries in the evening hours. The Aries Moon tonight conjuncts both Saturn and Neptune, and the Moon squares Jupiter. Jupiter squares Neptune. We may encounter so many options today that we might not know which way to go. Possibilities are likely to present themselves, and it would be wise for us to use a strong filtration system to weed out the impractical and unnecessary diversions. No matter how much running around or sifting through prospects we are liable to do today, the latter part of the day could shine a light on ‘right’ direction and can even be a course of action we had not even considered earlier when we were thrashing about in a wide variety of alternatives. Late in the day, the Moon’s transit from Pisces into Aries ends one month transit cycle through the Zodiac for the Moon and begins a new month transit. We may have exhausted ourselves before coming into the evening hours and despite the likelihood of a second wind and greater self-assertion we could find ourselves hardly able to lift a fork much less determine our ‘right’ course of action. The Jupiter Saturn square is engaged today, compounded by the Jupiter Neptune square. This is a day for us to make our plans in pencil with a large eraser. We might not be privy to all the information about conditions and need to appreciate the old saying that ‘if you want to make God laugh, tell God your plans.’
Thursday, June 19th – In Gear – Pluto. Thursday has the Aries Moon sextile Pluto in the early hours. Yesterday might have had us running around, considering all sorts of involvements to engage, and winding up exhausted by the effort that might have proven unproductive. Instead of putting the cart before the horse, as we may have done yesterday, this Thursday gives us the impetus to focus on what serves us best on both the short term and the long term. We are more interested in the truly meaningful with a desire to look at the far horizon of future goals and determine a best practices approach as to how we get from here to there. This is a day for us to have our plan of action in hand and then proceed in a determined manner. The second half of this Thursday might have us looking to put our best foot forward, enjoying the company of someone who admires us and accommodates us. We all need a pep talk now and again, and evening interactions tonight may provide such encouragement.
Friday, June 20th – Here Comes Summer – Mercury, Sun, Summer Solstice, Sun Cancer. The Moon completes its transit of Aries today with the Aries Moon square Mercury to begin the day and the Moon sextile the Sun in the evening before both the Sun and the Moon change Signs. The Moon slips into Taurus at the end of the day just before the Sun exits Gemini to enter Cancer [10:42 PM EDT] at the Summer Solstice. We may be resistant to dealing with routine matters today, far more interested in celebrating the ‘official’ start to the summer season. Often during the summer, we elongate our weekends with people taking off Friday or winding down from their work week. As if the starting gun has gone off, this Friday may have us getting out of town or leisurely enjoying the day doing whatever we choose to do. We’re coming into summer, the season when the living is supposed to be easy with us being more outdoors, engaging recreational activities and firing up the grill for barbecues. Good times with good friends are called for during the summer season, no matter how crazy-making life has become. We can tune out, turn off to the realities of the world-at-large and enjoy momentary respites from the maddening world. For this summer, let’s avoid the summertime blues and embrace the sentiment ‘summertime, and the living is easy.’
Saturday, June 21st – To Do or Not to Do – Mars, Jupiter, Pluto. The Moon continues its transit of Taurus with the Taurus Moon trine Mars, the Moon sextile Jupiter, and the Moon square Pluto, all in the early morning hours. We might feel a push – pull today between what we want to do and what we need to do with a consequent effect of possibly our waffling back and forth about what to do and what not to do. We could be desirous of cleaning up around our home, fixing up our environment, and engaging various DIY projects. On the other hand, someone might be suggesting fun events for us to join them in. Push – pull, back and forth. We can spend a great deal of time puzzled by an either-or conundrum, and in the process exhaust ourselves by the internal debating of what to do. If we would take care of the various projects around home, then later in the day we could enjoy participating with friends. By choosing pleasurable activities to begin with, we may not want to get back in harness and deal with our various items on our ‘to do’ list later. While someone can be insistent about joining in, this day suggests we do what we feel best for us. By dealing with projects around home, we could accomplish a lot and feel satisfied with our efforts. Perhaps it would be best to work, then play.
Sunday, June 22nd – High Maintenance Lifestyle? – Venus, Mercury, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars, Jupiter, Sun, Saturn. Sunday has the Moon finishing its transit of Taurus with the Taurus Moon today conjunct Venus, the Moon sextile Mercury, and the Moon conjunct Uranus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for an hour with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Taurus and before the Moon enters Gemini late at night. The Gemini Moon makes no aspects to the planets today. Mars sextiles Jupiter, and the Sun squares Saturn. Whether we dealt with necessary matters yesterday or took off for fun adventures, this Sunday either has us back at cleaning up and clearing out or starting the process. In our consumer-driven society, we all accumulate stuff. Many of us have a high maintenance lifestyle that demands constant monitoring and maintenance, and occasional repairs or replacements. We need to ask ourselves the question as to whether we own our stuff or whether our stuff owns us? Often, the answer is the latter, a sentiment that may be confirmed by this weekend’s time spent in cleaning up, clearing out, maintaining, and taking care of various items around our home. As we deal with our various projects today, we might ruminate on the sentiment that ‘living simply isn’t simply living.’ Less is often more.
