The astrology for this week of October 31st through November 6th of 2022 seems in synch with this time of year with various treats and tricks, and the key question being whether we can differentiate between the two.
This is also the last week before next week’s midterm elections in the US, so we are liable to be harangued and bombarded by the trickster politicians in full costume appearing as ‘statespersons’ and committed to doing the people’s work, rather than the usual consequent result of once elected just putting it to the people.
We have a Stellium of three planets in Scorpio, so my snarkiness is in tune with the tenor of this week. Everyone and everything may just seem a little too intense this week with people acting out, either verbally lashing out or even physically assaulting anyone who disagrees with them.
The Scorpio-transiting planets trigger a Fixed Sign T-Square with their opposition to Uranus in Taurus and their square to Saturn in Aquarius. This dance goes on through the third week of November but lightens up from the latter part of November on. Delays, frustrations, pent-up energy looking to be released assertively cannot be discounted.
This week begins with Halloween with the propensity to step out of our personal self and take on the costume of someone or something other. We are looking for treats and good times. Halloween used to be a children’s holiday of gathering candies from friends and neighbors. This holiday has now morphed into adding adults to the celebrations with reveling and good cheer thanks to the liquid spirits. We just have to be wary of rainbow fentanyl decoying as skittles.
Yes, our old ‘friend’ of fear porn is afoot and wearing its various masks of illicit drugs and overdoses, variants of viruses, the economy run amok with staggering inflation, drumbeats of nuclear holocaust, depression and suicides spiking, physical assaults and increased crime off the charts and a whole litany of horsemen to bring about the apocalypse.
Or not.
There are too many good things in our lives for us to fall prey to the fear porn, much less the official narrative that is so often proven wrong with continual misinformation, or disinformation. There is a proverb that goes “fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.” We can add to that the idea of fool me three times or continuously and either you are the idiot or I am for continuing to believe your statements.
The blowout of celebrations on Halloween can leave us with a nasty hangover, either from drinking too much or from eating too much candy. A sense of hitting the wall and feeling blocked at almost every turn could be the hangover effects as we continue into the week.
Fortunately, the latter part of the week could be far more pleasant with a liability of our accepting that it’s all light and sunshine for our days ahead. It would be wise to keep in mind that during these disruptive, tumultuous times things can change in a nanosecond and may go from one extreme to another. Are we all suffering from a manic – depressive state of being, ecstatic one moment, despairing the next?
The weekend would be a good time for us to take machete in hand and explore unfamiliar terrain, whether we do so by getting out of Dodge or we stay around home base and investigate activities and interests that we have not been able to engage beforehand.
Monday, October 31st – Trick or Treat – Pluto, Jupiter, Mercury. Monday begins the week with the Moon continuing its transit of Capricorn and with the Capricorn Moon conjunct Pluto and the Moon sextile Jupiter. The Moon then enters Aquarius where late today the Moon squares Mercury. Whether we have children or not, we might use the morning hours of this Monday to take care of business, deal with outstanding matters, and resolve various issues in order for us to have the latter part of the day to participate in the holiday celebrations of Halloween. It almost seems as though we live our lives caroming from one holiday festivity to the next. And the number of holidays has increased dramatically over recent years. With the Aquarius Moon triggering the Fixed Sign T-Square tonight and tomorrow, things may not go according to plan, at least our plan. We can be highly productive as we start this day, feel in the spirits of this day, but accomplishing what we wish to achieve might be heavy sledding later today. The treat of being highly effective could be in the early part of the day, the trick may be doing successfully what we wish to do in the evening hours. Ah, yes, the metronome swings.
Tuesday, November 1st – Stress and Strain – Lunar T-Square, Sun, Venus, Uranus, Saturn. Tuesday continues with the Moon transiting Aquarius and fully engaging today the Fixed Sign T-square, whose influence we might have felt starting up on Monday evening. The Moon today squares the other two Scorpio-transiting planets of the Sun and Venus, and later the Moon squares Uranus in Taurus and the Moon conjuncts Saturn. This is a day when we might feel lethargic or just washed out by this past evening’s involvements. We have to watch our attitude today. Everyone could be a little snippy, especially if great expectations have not been realized. Many of our plans may seem to be hitting the wall, largely as a belief in the lack of our resources. Even if Wall Street has been recovering on an upward trajectory, what happens on Wall Street often stays on Wall Street and does not translate down onto Main Street. Added to the general stress and strain of these times we could experience curveballs today, those unexpected problems that come out of left field to knock us off center. We could end the day feeling overwhelmed, wiped out and discouraged — not a great time to forge ahead. If we have the sense of being between a rock and a hard place, stasis might be the best answer. Let’s keep in mind that the energies change, and things may seem more upbeat tomorrow and especially on Thursday.
Wednesday, November 2nd – Second Wind – Mars, Moon Void-of-Course. Wednesday begins with the Aquarius Moon trine Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for seven and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces where today the Pisces Moon makes no contacts with the planets. After yesterday, when we might have felt that we were having to duck, dodge and dive incoming, all the while virtually cemented in place, this Wednesday provides welcome relief. This is a good day to chat up people. We could be surprised by some of the insights and suggestions offered us. Everyone’s sensitivity may be heightened, so it would be wise to keep our conversations geared to non-confrontational topics and more to future plans and good times. This is a day that can give us a second wind. Today and tomorrow offer a welcome relief from the battering and bruising we might have encountered or are yet to be subject to over the next week. Let’s consider possibilities during this paradigm shift of magic and mini-miracles and not get caught up in the perceived realities of these tumultuous, disruptive times.
Thursday, November 3rd – Eye of the Storm – Mercury, Sun, Venus, Uranus. Mercury continues its transit of Pisces with the Pisces Moon today trine the three Scorpio-transiting planets of Mercury, the Sun, and Venus, and the Moon sextile Uranus. The early part and the latter part of this week are both dicey, and this Thursday provides a respite from all the intensity and craziness happening around us. This Thursday allows us to step away from the fray, be meditative and reflective, and appreciate that things can occur in a most positive way when we get out of our own way. This day might seem to have an otherworldly quality to it and could prove a useful day for us to change up things in our environment. Creating sanctuary for ourselves is an essential component to maintaining our sanity and establishing a happy space for ourselves during these crazy-making times. Today is a good day for us to go internally, consider what we truly want to develop in our life, and recognize that the antics in the world-at-large are only the backdrop to our daily involvements where we can exercise our free will and make our individual choices. We may be in the eye of the storm, but the placidity with our inner connection can be refreshing and reinvigorating.
Friday, November 4th – Spiritual, Material – Neptune, Mars, Pluto, Jupiter. Friday has the Pisces Moon conjunct Neptune, the Moon square Mars, the Moon sextile Pluto, and the Moon conjunct Jupiter. The Moon then exits Pisces and enters Aries late in the day. Similar to the duality in nature of positive – negative, active – responsive, masculine – feminine, yang – yin, and so on; this day raises the question of balance between our spiritual nature and our material involvement. Although our society has focused primarily on the material and dismissed the spiritual, there is an awakening occurring largely reinforced by this paradigm shift where linear, sequential reality gives way to asequential reality, where the extra-ordinary occurs with its indications of magic and miracles, which are only magical and miraculous because they do not conform to our old mindset of beginning, middle end, the old sequence of life unfolding. The interesting thing about this Friday is that we might awaken with a certain sense of awe and wonder, only later to be discounted as we get our day on and return to our usual routine of doing in the world. If we don’t try to take on too much, assume that we can do it all and then some, then we could be truly productive and effective, prioritizing the truly significant without being diverted by mindless distractions. The end of the day could give us good feelings of accomplishment and reinforce our sense of being aligned with the sentiment of spirit in action. Friday night is a good evening to enjoy ourselves, be festive, and engage a weekend that might concentrate on our personal desires and choices.
Saturday, November 5th – And so It Begins – Venus, Uranus. Saturday has the Moon continuing its transit of Aries but making no connections to the planets today. There may not be a great deal of energy to do anything except whatever catches our whim. The Fixed Sign T-Square that began by Sign when the Sun and Venus entered Scorpio back on the 23rd of October is engaged by Venus opposed Uranus today, to be followed by Venus square Saturn on the 7th and this next week by Mercury and the Sun triggering the Fixed Sign T-Square. Are we liable to various push – pulls between the old and the new over the next seven days? Probably so and with everyone liable to feel stressed out, judgmental in their own viewpoint, and willing to tear someone a new one. This Saturday could have our relationships in question with our interest more with the new and the different rather than the familiar and reliable. Often people are fascinated by the sparkly, fascinating and exciting. Unfortunately, image and appearance and first impressions don’t always match the content, substance or reality of the situation. We have to be wary of our relationships today, and it would be wise for us to keep any controversial opinions to oneself. We may not be aware how our opinion could trigger someone, but these next seven days are fraught with minefields and triggers to upsets and disruptions. Let’s be careful out there.
Sunday, November 6th – There Goes the Sun – Saturn, Mars, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course. Sunday has the Aries Moon sextile Saturn in Aquarius and the Moon sextile Mars in Gemini. The Moon squares Pluto before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost seven hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Aries and before the Moon enters Taurus early on Monday. Like the contents of a sandwich, we are sandwiched between yesterday’s Venus opposed Uranus and tomorrow’s Venus square Saturn, the Fixed Sign T-Square fully engaged. In most states in the US this is also the day when we end Daylight Savings Time and return to Standard Time with the effect of the day getting darker earlier. Although we might prefer to consider our options and alternatives rather than our mundane matters and usual responsibilities, it is hard for what passes for present reality not to impede upon our possibilities. Increasingly, we may have to work smarter rather than harder and be more insightful regarding how best to achieve our goals. Perhaps we are starting to realize the ‘spin’ to things being presented to us as the official narrative with the realization that we can not wisely trust information being presented to us but rather need to be highly astute and adept at reading between the lines, and separating out true fact from the fictions being presented as reality. The days may be growing darker, but the light is born from the darkness, and during these times we can be enlightened through an awakening and heightened awareness.
