The astrology for this week of October 24th through the 30th of 2022 presents us with various switch ups that can have us reeling and gasping for air.
This is the last week of the Air Grand Trine by Sign, and any breeziness that we might have displayed may be displaced by the increasing influence of the Fixed Sign T-Square. From the wide realm of possibilities, our attention could shift to the trudging forward with our wondering whether we have the resources to make it through the night.
We could start the week all light and airy, but the energy shifts with the Scorpio New Moon on Tuesday. The sense of the half glass of water being more empty than full is liable to trigger anger, resentment and the proverbial blame game.
The Scorpio New Moon, a Solar Eclipse, can also focus on our relationships with a tendency to keep close those people near and dear to us that we trust assuredly but also to keep at bay those people whose loyalty we are liable to question. A circling of wagons over the next two weeks might not be too surprising, and it would be wise for us not to scornfully judge any such actions on our part or on the part of other people. Self-protection is a natural instinct.
This New Moon also reinforces by Sign the Fixed Sign T-Square. Delays and frustrations can be rampant, and we may need to fully engage our patience, maintain calm, and realize that these times are not so much of our making as much as times that demand we respond and react in a measured and intelligent manner rather than by our being impulsive or overly aggressive.
The end of the week has Jupiter retrograding out of Aries and back into Pisces, and in the process leaving the only planet that had been transiting a Fire Sign. No fire in our belly, accentuated by Aries-ruling Mars beginning a retrograde cycle on Sunday.
The weekend sees Mercury exiting Libra, ending the Grand Trine by Sign in Air, and entering Scorpio, creating a Stellium of three planets in the Fixed Water Sign as Mercury joins the Sun and Venus in Scorpio. These planetary Sign changes of Jupiter and Mercury into Water Signs now has five planets in Water and increases the gooeyness ahead of us.
We close out the weekend on Sunday with Mars turning retrograde in Gemini. We might feel as though the wind has been knocked out of our sails with a heavy sense of exhaustion and a capitulation to the forces of frenzy.
Monday, October 24th – Brilliant in Concept, Lacking in Specificity – Lunar Grand Trine, Mercury, Saturn, Mars, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course. Monday starts the week with the Moon continuing its transit of Libra and with the Libra Moon triggering the Air Grand Trine today with the Libra Moon conjunct Mercury, the Moon trine Saturn in Aquarius and the Moon trine Mars in Gemini. The day closes out with the Moon square Pluto in Capricorn before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over six and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio early on Tuesday morning. We are on the ‘dark side’ of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s New Moon, a Solar Eclipse. This Monday can be a high energy day of lively conversations, great ideas, and brilliant revelations. And that may be best where all of it stays — in our mind. We may have our head in the clouds today, but our feet nowhere touching the ground. While our thoughts could be close to brilliant, the reverse would be true with any attempts at implementation. We could easily forget, neglect, or dismiss the particulars to bring our concepts into successful manifestations. Being on the ‘dark side’ of the Moon, today is better served in completions and considerations. Late in the day, some of the bloom may come off the rose. We needn’t despair, however, since first we have to have the idea before we have the means, and during this paradigm shift things can come about more in unexpected ways than in our trying to force them to happen. Let’s enjoy this Monday and keep it light and airy.
Tuesday, October 25th – And so it Begins – Scorpio New Moon, Solar Eclipse, Sun, Venus. Tuesday has the Moon entering Scorpio where today the Moon conjuncts the Sun at the New Moon, a Solar Eclipse, [6:49 AM EDT], and the Moon conjuncts Venus, which is transiting Scorpio, a Sign of Detriment for Venus. This New Moon signature casts an influence over the next two weeks up to the Full Moon, a Lunar Eclipse, on the 8th of November, Election Day in the US. With the New Moon in every Sign truly triggering the influence of that Sign during its month-long transit, the Scorpio impact is fully engaged as of today. And with it, we have a greater engagement of the Fixed Sign T-Square as the Scorpio-transiting planets square Saturn in Aquarius and oppose Uranus in Taurus. A liability of either / or and an acceptance of limitations, restrictions and lack can thwart a belief in abundance, bounty and expansion. We may feel that we do not have the resources necessary even for our mere survival, much less our thriving. Relationships might be pleasant, more so with those we consider to be on our same page, less so with those who seem different from ourselves. We have to avoid being jealous, possessive and exclusionary, circling the wagons and only allowing into our circle those who do not threaten or disagree with us. Intensity through the third week of November could ratchet up with the Fixed Sign T-Square in play. We may need a strong dose of patience, not take things to heart, but rather take on a bemused attitude at the various crazy antics going on in the world and in our own environment.
Wednesday, October 26th – Which Way Out – Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Saturn, Neptune, Mercury, Mars. Wednesday has the Moon continuing its transit through Scorpio with the Moon today engaging the Fixed Sign T-Square as the Scorpio Moon opposes Uranus and the Moon squares Saturn. The evening hours seem far more pleasant as the Moon trines Neptune. We end the day with Mercury trine Mars. Unexpected situations and outstanding matters could wreak havoc with our schedule on this Wednesday. During these disruptive times of paradigm shift, we may feel as though we are doing a Texas two-step with one step forward, two steps back; two steps forward, one step back. Whatever we have planned for this day, we might have to put on the back burner and attend to other issues that intrude, impede, and demand our attention. Patience is called for on this Wednesday. It is important that we not lose our ‘cool’ nor push too hard and try to enforce our will on various complications. Our being headstrong and willful could only make matters worse. This day calls for us to take things step by step with the recognition that our trajectory may shift and change due to conditions and circumstances not of our making but rather what we encounter in the morning hours. This Wednesday can seem paradoxical with stress and strain early in the day, and pleasant regaling and fun get-togethers later in the day. Hopefully, we can take some amusement in the evening hours as to how flummoxed we might have gotten earlier in the day.
Thursday, October 27th – Like a Metronome, Swing to Swing – Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Jupiter, Mercury. Thursday has the Scorpio Moon sextile Pluto in the early morning hours. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for six and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius where today the Sagittarius Moon trines Jupiter just before Jupiter retrogrades back into Pisces tomorrow. Mercury squares Pluto. Yesterday may have had us scurrying around, if one can say that trudging through wet cement is scurrying. Thursday provides us the energy to figure things out and implement a functional plan of action. We can feel like we’ve gained a second wind, confident, optimistic, even enthusiastic about our future intentions. We do have to be wary of naysayers, those Debbie Downers and Eeyores, primed for raining on our parade. People can easily criticize our endeavors, but why engage the critics to justify our behavior when they can’t see beyond their preconceived opinions and narrow perspective? Even if the present trends of events seem more like contractions and limitations, we do not have to buy into the consensus belief but instead can look for the opportunities within the challenges of these times, the proverbial silver linings to dark and foreboding clouds. Let’s keep in mind that attitude is everything, and like a magnet our attitude either attracts the good and the positive or it draws to us the negative and daunting.
Friday, October 28th – True Believer or Fantasy Illusionist – Saturn, Lunar T-Square, Neptune, Jupiter Pisces. Friday continues with the Sagittarius Moon with the Moon today sextile Saturn, and the Moon triggering the beginning of a Mutable Sign T-Square as the Moon squares Neptune in the evening hours, followed by the Moon opposed Mars in the early morning of Saturday. Jupiter exits Aries and retrogrades back into Pisces [1:10 AM EDT]. With Jupiter’s Sign change we lose the Fire, except for the Moon’s monthly transits of the Fire Signs. Jupiter comes back into a Sign that Jupiter co-rules with Neptune, already transiting Pisces. If we would plan our schedule today, giving time both to our responsibilities and to our future goals, then we are more likely to stay on course. We may also find that our sensitivity is ratcheted up even more so, but a sensitivity that can heighten our intuitive knowing without knowing or could lead us down a rabbit hole of concern, anxiety, and feeling victim to the vagaries of these times. Our choice, always our choice as to how we wish to perceive things. The evening hours may have us indulgent. Are we looking to escape the barrage of negative news and fear-provoking worries? This weekend could have us engaging the sentiments expressed in the classic Peggy Lee song Is That All There Is: “If that’s all there is my friends, then let’s keep dancing
Let’s break out the booze and have a ball
If that’s all there is”
Saturday, October 29th – Straighten Up and Fly Right – Mercury, Lunar T-Square, Mars, Jupiter, Sun, Venus, Mercury Scorpio. Saturday begins with the Moon continuing its transit of Sagittarius with the Moon sextile Mercury and the Moon still triggering a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon today opposed Mars and the Moon square Jupiter. The Moon then moves into Capricorn, and later in the day the Capricorn Moon sextiles both the Sun and Venus both in Scorpio. Mercury exits Libra and enters Scorpio [3:22 PM EDT] triggering a Stellium of three planets in the Fixed Water Sign as Mercury joins the Sun and Venus in Scorpio. Friday night and the early hours of Saturday could have us indulging, even to the point of excess. Perhaps we need the occasional ‘blow out’ after everything we have suffered through over the past two years and continue to deal with. Like letting off steam, once we have gone to whatever extremes we engage, we can get a grip and ‘straighten up and fly right’. This day can have us back on track, deal with errands and our goals and focus on what we need to get done. With Mercury’s entrance into Scorpio creating a Stellium in the Fixed Water Sign we also have the Fixed Sign T-Square reinforced. We may be more intense, more likely to hold our cards close to our chest, revealing little except what we are choosing to share and with a tendency to stay with our closest friends with a high bar for anyone other to enter our circle of trust.
Sunday, October 30th – Smarter, Not Harder – Uranus, Neptune, Mars retrograde. Sunday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today trine Uranus and the Moon sextile Neptune. Mars turns retrograde [9:26 AM EDT]. With the lack of Fire and now Mars turning retrograde, we may feel somewhat lethargic and as if the wind has been knocked out of our sails. This is a day for us to be open to the magic of the universe and to our being more effective by being smarter rather than working harder. When we do not have the energy to virtually move mountains, it is wise for us to utilize a proverbial winch, streamlined methods and alternative means to get done what needs to be done. Although our energy may be flagging, this day allows us to see the opportunities associated with the paradigm shift where we could let go of our old conditioned mindset of our solely being the ones to make things happen and embrace instead our role as co-creators with the universe unfolding. The universe works! By being attentive to circumstances and conditions and aware of how best to achieve successful results, we may draw upon both our intuitive sense and moments of revelation to direct our endeavors more easily and expeditiously. The necessary change in our attitude from being a dominant force to being both co-creator and collaborator with the universe unfolding might have those people unable to accept change seething, but for those people open to the transformation in the game of life there could be a realization that we truly live in a wonder-filled world.
