The astrology for this week of December 27th through January 2nd, which brings closure to one year and the beginning of the new year, calls for us to be on our toes, able to adapt to changing conditions, and may have us taking a serious, ‘can do’ attitude.
This past week had the third and final exact Saturn Uranus square, an aspect that has dogged us most of this year and is liable to continue to influence 2022. We evidenced the effects of the square during the holiday rush. As we tried to get to grandmother’s house, out of town, or just out and about, there were various travel disruptions with flights cancelled and wintry conditions causing highway pileups. Testing centers for the virus had long lines or a lack of tests available.
I’m certain that all of us are happy to see this year of 2021 go bye.
This week can still be seen as a holiday week, and whether we are off and enjoying ourselves away from our usual routine or engaged in our normal activities during a shortened work week, we may be looking for some R&R this week.
The week begins benignly enough. Social interactions seem highlighted to start the week. We may reach out to those people we had not contacted before the holiday to catch up, wish them well and indicate their importance in our life.
We have a major Sign change early in the week as Jupiter exits Aquarius to enter Pisces, a Sign that Jupiter traditionally ruled and now co-rules with Neptune. The two rulers of Pisces are now both in the Mutable Water Sign. We could experience huge precipitation, both atmospheric and emotional, over this coming year. Storm systems could deluge areas with significant snowfalls and extreme rain leading to massive accumulations and flash floods. Our sensitivity may be ratcheted up severalfold with our response either being the anxiety and fearfulness propagated over the past two years or the awakening of our spirit in soul expression as we rise above mundane concerns and ascend into a higher consciousness, a greater awareness of all things divine.
For much of this week we have the energy configurations for us to get serious with what we plan for our future and how best to realize our ambitions. We can devise our resolutions for this coming year with the commitment of a ‘can do’ attitude no matter the conditions or circumstances in which we find ourselves.
‘Out with the old, in with the new’ might be our mantra as we enter the New Year with a Sun trine Uranus and the Capricorn New Moon encouraging us to find different trajectories, streamlined means to accomplish our goals, and with a desire for greater autonomy in our endeavors.
Happy New Year!
Monday, December 27th – Friends Far and Near – Mars, Saturn. Monday begins the week with the Libra Moon sextile Mars and the Moon trine Saturn. If there were hiccups during this past Christmas weekend, some of them may be ironed out with our ability to breathe easier. Things may seem more on track, less convoluted and less dysfunctional. We may choose to connect with those people we have not been able to contact prior to the holidays. We might be making plans, whether for New Year celebrations or for the year ahead. This Monday is a good day to wrap up loose ends of the passing year and prepare diligently for the year ahead. If we are blueprinting our intentions for the year ahead, it would be wise to do so in pencil with a large eraser. One characteristic of these times that we might have all learned by now is the fact that these tumultuous times of the paradigm shift are disruptive and demand that we not be adamant about the ways that things should go but rather flexible and adaptable to changing conditions. Let’s enjoy ourselves on this Monday, take the time to cherish those special people in our life, and ‘chill out’ even if everything around us seems frenzied and frantic.
Tuesday, December 28th – Shortsighted – Mercury, Venus, Pluto, Jupiter, Jupiter Pisces. Tuesday continues with the Libra Moon with the Moon early today square all three Capricorn-transiting planets of Mercury, Venus and Pluto. Later in the day, the Moon trines Jupiter before the Moon exits Libra to enter Scorpio and before Jupiter exits Aquarius to enter Pisces. We may have reached out to someone or certain people yesterday only to have the naysayers, Eeyores and Debbie Downers stepping forward on this Tuesday. If we have shared our plans with some people, we might have a pushback with parade rainers indicating all the flaws in our plans or how we are unable to pull off our great ambitions. Although we may not have conceived in detail all the steps along the way for the successful accomplishment of our goals, it is essential that we keep in mind both the fact that projects have a life of their own and the reality of the paradigm shift where we are but co-creators with the universal unfolding with circumstances and conditions often determining our way forward. Although we may be in holiday mode, this is a good day to attend to outstanding matters, tie up loose ends, and get things out of the way so that we are not encumbered as we come into the new year. The latter part of the day can be highly pleasant. We might feel less put upon, more upbeat, and enjoying the company of a special someone. With Jupiter exiting Aquarius to enter Pisces, Jupiter is moving into a Sign that Jupiter traditionally ruled and now co-rules with Neptune. With both planets ruling Pisces in their own Sign, we are entering a highly emotional time, a time when we could soar with the eagles or plummet to fathomless depths. We’ll need to keep a rein on our mood swings with an appreciation that our attitude and how we see things are our choice, always our choice. Even if we don’t like what is going on, a sense of bemusement at human foibles and at our own missteps can take the edge off.
Wednesday, December 29th – Here We Go Again – Sun, Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Saturn, Mercury, Venus, Mars. Wednesday has the Scorpio Moon sextile the Sun, and the Moon triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square as the Scorpio Moon opposes Uranus and the Moon squares Saturn. We may have shaken the exact squares of Saturn Uranus of this year, but we are dogged continually through this coming year by its influence as evidenced today. Mercury conjuncts Venus, and Mars sextiles Saturn. While much of our focus might be on our mundane matters, completing matters before the year is out in order to not bring them into 2022, there are liable to be hiccups along the way today. Delays and unexpected incidents can disrupt our plans. No need to get frustrated by any curveballs or monkey wrenches thrown at us. We just have to be nimble in either stepping out of the way or having the patience to attend to what needs to get done no matter how circuitous or bumpy the procedure might be. By taking our time, concentrating on the specifics, and recognizing that we never get more than we can handle, we could move forward, even in a zig-zag motion, to forge ahead and not get bollixed by any disruptions. The end of the day may have us appreciative of our efforts, our success in dodging proverbial bullets, and sets us up for a highly productive Thursday.
Thursday, December 30th – On All Cylinders – Neptune, Venus, Pluto, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Jupiter. Thursday continues with the Scorpio Moon with the Moon trine Neptune, and the Moon trine the three Capricorn-transiting planets of Venus, Pluto and Mercury. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for six hours as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio without making any further connections to the planets and before the Moon enters Sagittarius late in the day where the Moon squares Jupiter. Mercury conjuncts Pluto. In contrast to Tuesday when the Moon was squaring the Capricorn-transiting planets with perhaps little being effectively accomplished if attended to at all, Thursday is a highly productive day when we can tie up loose ends, bring various matters to completion, and conclude affairs before the year is out. Our mind may be as sharp as a tack with us able to dissect and analyze significant issues and develop the most strategic means to achieve our goals. The more we can accomplish early in the day, the better, for we might veer off into new year celebratory preparations and enjoyments as the day unfolds. The latter part of the day, we may have festivities on our mind and indulgences for the new year just beginning. Why wait for New Year’s Eve to have a good time when we can start our celebrations early? We could be bidding 2021 a welcome farewell on this Thursday with little regret to see this year gone.
Friday, December 31st – Stretch Beyond Reach – Saturn, Mars. Friday is the last day of 2021 and the day when we gear up for evening festivities to welcome in the new year of 2022. The Sagittarius Moon today sextiles Saturn and the Moon conjuncts Mars. As if punctuating our departure from this year of 2021 with the hope that the past two years are not only behind us but their characteristics unlikely to daunt us in the coming year, we could be in an exuberant, buoyant mood. We may be committed to making the new year far better than what we have recently experienced despite any attempts by the authorities to quell our enthusiasm or limit our movements. Although it would be wise for us to conclude outstanding matters that we do not want to bring into the new year, we should have done so yesterday when the energies for taking care of business were far more favorable. We’re not interested in our tasks or obligations today. We are in a celebratory mood and won’t have anything or anyone dampen our mood. Some of us may be traveling to ring in the new year, others might stay at home with family and friends, and others of us might go to sleep early ready for the year of 2021 to be behind us and willing to have the new year come in quietly, gently while we are in our sleep state. Gentle, quiet are enjoyable qualities especially after all the intensity of these recent times. We just have to avoid stretching beyond our reach.
Saturday, January 1st – New Year, New Ways – Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course, Jupiter, Sun, Uranus. In the early hours of Saturday, the Sagittarius Moon squares Neptune. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for fifteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn late in the day. The Capricorn Moon sextiles Jupiter, and the Sun trines Uranus. Whether we were out partying last night into early this morning or not, we could awaken on this Saturday with a desire for nothing more than to hang out, relax, and take time for ourselves. Some people may have blown out the night drinking and carousing and might have a nasty hangover. Even those who welcome the new year quietly and without much hoo-ha are likely to use this day as a ‘time out’ to reinvigorate and re-create. Once we are in gear for this day, which might take some time, we can consider our new year resolutions and how we want this year of 2022 to be different, a year when we can have greater autonomy in our involvements and more freedom of movement. This first day of the new year allows us to consider, while the year is fresh, options and alternatives we may wish to engage over the course of 2022. We are on the ‘dark side’ of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s New Moon, so this day is better for considerations rather than implementations.
Sunday, January 2nd – Be the Change – Uranus, Capricorn New Moon, Sun, Mercury Aquarius. Sunday has the Capricorn New Moon with the Moon conjunct the Sun and both trine Uranus. Mercury exits Capricorn to enter Aquarius. With the New Moon signature influencing both the winter season and the new year of 2022, we are committed to be the change. We are interested in shifting things around. We have experienced major transformations around us, and now we are more prepared to acknowledge the transformations that we ourselves have gone through. We may decide to do an inventory taking of our life and our environment, with the idea of ridding ourselves of anything holding us back. We might not be rebels without a cause but rather determining to be individualistic and truly embracing the uniqueness of our being. We can accept our role as co-creators with the universe unfolding with a willingness to adapt and alter the way we are doing our life. This is an exciting time, and as we stand in our own light, we could see shifts, albeit even subtle shifts, to situations around us and even in the world-at-large. By our willingness to embrace our own transformation and a new sense of our being we are likely to be instrumental in society changes. The days of the autocracy or the power elites may be waning as people stand in their own light, in their integrity, and express their personal voice. It is time for each of us to ‘be the change’
