We can feel uplifted, able to take on the role of a magician, and enlightened by sudden opportunities and wonder-filled surprises as we begin this month of December.
We have a fire in our belly and a fire on the landscape with all the Fire element energy that ignites this month of December. The mid-part of November began a Fire Grand Trine with the three Signs of the Fire Element being transited — Uranus in Aries, Jupiter in Leo and the quickly transiting personal planets going through Sagittarius. This Grand Trine will be operational into June of 2015 thanks to Saturn exiting Scorpio and entering Sagittarius later this month.
December begins with the Fire Grand Trine with both the Moon and Uranus in Aries, Jupiter in Leo and a Stellium of three planets in Sagittarius — the Sun, Mercury and Venus.
It is not only the holidays and this time of year of good cheer that puts a smile on our face. We may once again engage the awe and wonder of childhood as unexpected scenarios open to us. We might feel as though we are on a magic carpet ride, where things occur easily and unexpectedly and we just have to be open to receive. Let’s keep in mind the advice that ‘when we believe, we can see’.
The first half of December is replete with magical moments. People, who are skeptical of the paradigm shift and continue to assume that what once was is now and forever, may cast off the bright lights of exciting incidents as but a reflection of the holiday times.
I would suggest not, for on the contrary the energies during this early December period put a spring in our step and allow us to see all the goodness in the world, the beauty of the people around us and can reinvigorate our soul and spirit.
December begins with Mars sextile Saturn on the 1st. Even if we have gotten off the track, taken a walk through confusing mazes, we now can focus our energies and advance our interests in a resourceful and practical manner.
For the first two weeks of December we enter a fun house of enjoyable engagements, future plans and greater autonomy in what we choose to do. This is a time for us to work with peripheral vision, be open to impossibilities becoming possible, and allow ourselves time to act spontaneously.
The 4th of December adds fuel to the fire of the Fire Grand Trine as Venus trines Jupiter and the Sun trines Uranus. Mars also changes Signs on this day, moving out of Capricorn to enter Aquarius.
The 5th – 6th of December has Mercury trine Uranus just prior to the Gemini Full Moon. This first week of December is replete with marvelous surprises, unanticipated variables that are likely to put a smile on our face. No matter if there are any parade rainers around. We are less likely to engage their sentiments, much less pay them any heed, when we are surrounded by such magic and miracles. The magic may not be the parting of the Red Sea, but we are likely to find even small synchronistic happenings hard to explain away by the reasoning mind. Our insights can be revelatory, and we might find ourselves believing ever more in the paradigm shift of asequential reality with its apparent random happenings. Mini-miracles and larger miracles are happening!
On the 8th, the Sun conjuncts Mercury and Jupiter turns retrograde. The 10th has Venus exiting Sagittarius to enter Capricorn. We may be faced with the obligatory social occasions and might use this time of holiday gatherings to engage friends and colleagues with new ideas, radical concepts. Some people will be as jazzed, as we are, by the extraordinary events that we are likely to encounter. And those people who aren’t taken by the sense of the extraordinary may just be sticks in the mud that we might have to deal with but no longer fully embrace.
The 12th of December has Mercury trine Jupiter and the Sun trine Jupiter on the 14th. Our attitude is likely to be upbeat and our disposition contagious. Everyone may be in a ‘feel good’ holiday spirit, but it may not be just the holidays that are raising our spirits. The evident changes and the thrilling situations we have witnessed, experienced or heard about are giving increasing evidence that the times they are a’changing, changing quickly, swiftly, without much effort on our part except to maintain awareness and be mindful.
As with the volatility of these times, the metronome swings of moods, emotions, attitudes and happenings can be quite extreme. The first two weeks of December may be a cornucopia of animated events, miracles large and small, and a sense of true magic in the air and in our lives.
The end of the autumn season can perhaps be a little more harrowing. Certainly the air is likely to be taken out of our tires.
The 15th of December has the Uranus Pluto square exact. The old, reliable may not be what it used to be, and this energy can occasion a further breakdown of the old paradigm. Old structures may go by the wayside, whether they be a corporate entity of a traditional company going under, geophysical phenomena of earthquake and volcanic activity, or an indication of terrorist actions.
The 16th of December has Mercury moving out of Sagittarius to enter Capricorn. Our thoughts and mindset may shift from ebullience and enthusiasm to a more serious consideration of events.
We close out the autumn season with Mercury sextile Neptune, Venus square Uranus, Venus conjunct Pluto and Mars sextile Uranus on the 20th, followed by Uranus turning direct on the 21st just prior to the end of autumn and the beginning of the winter season with the winter solstice.
We may feel the bloom has come off the rose and that many of the exciting involvements of early December become but a trace memory. But once we have seen the promised land, the aura of what was once glimpsed can never be dispelled.
The Winter Solstice and the beginning of the Winter season arrives on the 21st as the Sun enters the Cardinal Sign of Capricorn. The 21st also has Uranus turning direct and the Capricorn New Moon with Saturn on the cusp of Scorpio – Sagittarius about to enter the Mutable Fire Sign.
Our focus on good times and engaging fun events may start to shift. We might give greater consideration to what our life purpose is all about. We could even question the classic Peggy Lee song with its lyrics:
“Is that all there is, is that all there is?
If that’s all there is my friends, then let’s keep dancing
Let’s break out the booze and have a ball
If that’s all there is”
On the contrary, we might be more concerned now about what our true purpose and the meaning to our lives are all about. We may take the time to reflect on what our true calling in this life might actually be.
Our ambitions can be stoked, and we might see some of our holiday gatherings as times of networking with friends and colleagues and those people who can assist us in realizing our dreams, helping us to accomplish what we consider our true purpose in this life journey to be.
This latter part of December would be a good time for us to get our house in order.
On the 23rd, Saturn exits Scorpio to enter Sagittarius for its two and half year cycle, except for Saturn’s brief retrograde foray back into Scorpio from mid-June through mid-September 2015. Saturn’s entry into the Mutable Fire Sign sets up the Fire Grand Trine for the next six months as Saturn in Sagittarius joins in trine the other two Fire Signs with Uranus in Aries and Jupiter in Leo with Jupiter exiting Leo to enter Virgo in early August of 2015.
During the past two plus years of Saturn transiting Scorpio, we have had the opportunity of paring down and getting rid of the inconsequential in our lives. We may not have enjoyed all the releases that we might have experienced, but eliminations and losses were just other ways of letting go of circumstances and conditions that no longer truly worked for us.
Saturn in Sagittarius may have us looking at life a little more seriously, perhaps accepting accountability and responsibility for our actions with increased recognition that this journey through life is a school of life whereby we can learn, grow, develop and self-actualize.
Mercury squares Uranus on the 24th, Christmas Eve, another one of those major travel days. Somewhat akin to what some people experienced during the US Thanksgiving holiday when the weather may have impacted travel plans, travel plans can be disrupted on the 24th. This energy of the Mercury square Uranus is my least favorite aspect for flying conditions, and an energy configuration I avoid when making flight plans. Communications can be off, misunderstandings rampant, and difficulties can be experienced with high technology.
As we come towards the end of December, the Sun sextiles Neptune on the 26th. With us taking greater account as to what we are doing with our lives, we may find that we are increasingly looking to our spirit in action, finding avenues that are self-fulfilling and venues for expressing our soul in matter.
With the ending of 2014 and as we prepare for 2105, we might embrace the sentiments expressed by Taylor Swift and in her lyrics condensed as:
“’Cause the players gonna play…
And the haters gonna hate…
Baby, I’m just gonna shake, shake, shake…
I shake it off, I shake it off
Heartbreakers gonna break…
And the fakers gonna fake…
Baby, I’m just gonna shake, shake, shake…
I shake it off, I shake it off”
In bringing closure to 2014 and in preparation for 2015, let’s shake it off and intend this new year of 2015 [a numerological 8 year] to be a highly successful year, no matter what curve balls may be thrown at us.
Let’s keep in mind that these times of a paradigm shift, the crossing from linear reality into asequential reality, are times of magic and miracles as common occurrences.
December 2014… Crossing the threshold confidently…
