The astrology for this week of July 21st through the 27th of 2025 gives us the first full week of the three-week Mercury retrograde when Murphy’s Law is in effect with the disposition of ‘whatever can go wrong could go wrong’.
With Mercury retrograde in Leo and the two Aries transiting planets of Saturn and Neptune also retrograde, our energy may not be the strongest and our expression slightly muted. Such energy configurations can be quite annoying with a liability of people overreacting to situations. We might feel as though we need to be strident to be heard, agitated to be seen, and an irritant to be noticed.
Fortunately, it’s summertime, the time of year when we are more interested in enjoying ourselves, relaxing, traveling, recreating, without feeling the need to move mountains. Whatever we choose to do, let’s try and be patient and accepting of liable curveballs as we proceed.
Early in the week, the Sun exits Cancer to enter Leo, followed by the Leo New Moon later in the week. Summer is certainly upon us, and we are likely to bask not only in the heat of the summer sun but in the radiance of our own vibrant spirit and our creative talents.
This two-week period up to the Full Moon on the 9th of August could give us glimmers of the technological revolution with advances indicated in various sectors thanks to the wizardry of artificial intelligence and robotics. A new day is dawning.
We may be in full good times regalia towards the end of the week and over the weekend. We do need to keep in mind the admonition of ‘moderation in all things.’
We are at the threshold of a major crossing, a transformation in society and in our own personal lives.
Let’s avoid pushing the envelope, grandstanding, but instead engage humility as we are awed by the wonder of the unfolding of the paradigm shift. If we get too full of ourselves, we are likely to go for the gold without considering long term impacts or the law of unintended consequences.
This week is a time for us to enjoy the summer festivities without our losing sight of the signals along the way or taking our eye off the ball.
The weekend is geared to good times with good friends, a nice respite from any daily grind providing a breather before we turn our attention back to what we need to accomplish at the close of the weekend.
Monday, July 21st – Another Manic Monday – Mercury, Venus, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course. Monday begins this week with the Moon in Gemini and the Moon sextile Mercury, the Moon conjunct Venus, and the Moon square Mars. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for sixteen and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Gemini and before the Moon enters Cancer on Tuesday morning. This Monday could be fairly manic with our scurrying around egged on by someone. We might be all over the place in search of fun events, personal makeovers, and involvements that allow us to stand out and feel good about life. With us feeling the Sun exiting Cancer and entering Leo tomorrow, our focus might be on summer’s ‘good times’. This is not a day for us to do anything in depth but rather a sampling of this, that, and some other. This Monday begins with us in high gear. If we are looking for an apt vacation period this summer, it would be these next four weeks. With autumn’s activities encroaching our summer with back to school and college orientations starting in mid-August, now would be appropriate for us to take time off, even though we would be doing so with the convoluted influences of Mercury retrograde. Let’s enjoy get-togethers with special friends but avoid going overboard on purchases and expenditures. It would be wise to take into account moderation in all things, but likely to be unheeded under today’s energy configurations when we would prefer to go for the gold.
Tuesday, July 22nd – Bask in the Sun – Saturn, Neptune, Sun Leo. The Moon moves into Cancer early on this Tuesday morning and the Cancer Moon today squares both Saturn and Neptune both in Aries. The Sun exits Cancer to enter Leo [9:29 AM EDT]. With the Sun entering the Sign that it rules, the Sun’s influence is heightened with the Sun in Leo also adding to the Fire Element as the Sun joins the three retrograding Fire-transiting planets with Mercury in Leo and with both Saturn and Neptune in Aries. We may feel as though we have gained a second wind with a more robust attitude and a desire to put our personal mark on our activities. Our ‘feel good’ attitude today can be dampened by responsibilities and obligations. We might feel like a racehorse ready to run but reined in by what we need to do and by home and family matters that demand attending. We might be inhibited in our course today, but it would be wise to keep in mind that the three transcendental planets of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are harmoniously aligned to offer assistance in guiding us along our path towards ‘right action’. We need to keep our ego in check, since the opportunities are not always what we make happen. During this paradigm shift opportunities often come to us by our being receptive to the magic and wonder of these times of paradigm shift and sometimes in a most mysterious, magical, and miraculous manner.
Wednesday, July 23rd – No Parade Rainers, Please – Jupiter, Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Uranus, Venus. Wednesday continues with the Cancer Moon with the Moon today conjunct Jupiter in the early morning and the Moon sextile Mars late in the day. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over fourteen and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Cancer and before the Moon enters Leo around mid-day Thursday. The Sun sextiles Uranus and Venus squares Mars. We may be feeling upbeat and enthusiastic and desirous of finding a new way for ourselves. Our confidence can only be diminished by a naysayer, someone who wants to keep us bottled in the ways that were, but which may not be enough for us as they are. We are likely to have an adventurous streak, and why not? These times augmented by tomorrow’s Leo New Moon call for the spiritual warrior / warrioress, that person willing to take machete in hand and carve a new path for themselves. Even if someone might try to dash our hopes, our intentions may not be squashed. By proper planning, strategic time management, and the utilization of new tools and techniques, we could find ourselves at the beginning of a new journey, a grand adventure. Today is a day for us to consider our options and alternatives. We do not have to know all the fine points [who could during this paradigm shift when the unexpected is the new normal?] but our intention, humility, and willingness to be open to receive will give us the impetus of engaging our destiny, even if it means a dramatic shift in our trajectory. We are on the ‘dark side’ of the Moon prior to tomorrow’s New Moon, so today is best served by completions and considerations more than implementation of any new plans. Today is a day for us to enlist the excitement of being alive, no matter the Debbie Downers or Eeyores protesting our alterations.
Thursday, July 24th – Blessed Be – Moon Void-of-Course, Uranus, Saturn, Neptune, Leo New Moon, Sun, Pluto. Thursday begins with the Moon Void-of-Course as the Moon completes its transit of Cancer without making any further connections to the planets. Around midday EDT the Moon exits Cancer and enters Leo where today the Leo Moon sextiles Uranus, the Moon trines both Saturn and Neptune both in Aries, the Moon opposes Pluto, and the Moon conjuncts the Sun at the time of the New Moon [3:11 PM EDT]. The Sun trines both Saturn and Neptune. The three transcendental planets of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are engaged. This New Moon influences the next two weeks up to the Full Moon on the 9th of August. This New Moon configuration truly ignites indicators of the paradigm shift and the technological revolution. Magic is afoot with the opportunity to have our head in the clouds while our feet are firmly planted on the ground. This is a time when we may feel solidly rooted and expand our reach beyond our usual grasp. What we need to avoid would be either getting complacent or overly self-assured. This two-week period may be replete with technological innovations, rapid advances in new tools, and a greater sense that we are going through a multi-faceted revolution taking us from where we have been into an exciting new dimension of being. A revolution is upon us both an external technological revolution and an internal awakening and ascension in consciousness. We do need humility and a willingness to be co-creators with the universe unfolding rather than trying to engineer and control what is happening.
Friday, July 25th – Pig-Headed – Mercury, Sun, Pluto. Friday has the Leo Moon conjunct Mercury and the Sun opposed Pluto. We may be full of ourselves on this Friday, and so could everyone else. We are unlikely to brook any interference to our plans or what we choose to do, but so might everyone else. We could be in an upbeat mood today, looking to expand our involvements beyond usual parameters and unwilling to accept any limitations to our intentions. Since everyone may be feeling that deference should be shown to their endeavors, this is a day for walking on eggshells and avoiding confrontations. Someone might be itching for a good knock down, drag out, but why go there when such encounters might only produce lose – lose results? If we feel our intentions are unrealizable, perhaps we are putting on blinders and accepting defeat before we even begin. Let’s keep in mind that yesterday’s New Moon and the paradigm shift into the technological revolution and asequential reality open the door to things happening in the most inexplicable manner and often with little effort on our part except to be willing accomplices to the natural unfolding. Let’s not be pig-headed but rather be childlike and engage the awe and wonder of it all.
Saturday, July 26th – Fly Like an Eagle – Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Uranus. Saturday has the Leo Moon sextile Venus before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for almost ten hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Leo and before the Moon enters Virgo late in the day where the Virgo Moon squares Uranus in the evening. There is not a great deal of energy today, but what energy there is makes it a good day to spend time with a special someone and get out of town in an exploratory mode of one grand adventure. If there was any dustup yesterday, today is a day to make amends and set things right. What a difference a day makes. We might have been adamant about our position yesterday, more conciliatory and collaborative today. This Saturday is a day to enjoy the beauty of the summer months. As we come to the evening hours, the energy shifts. Something we learn about may upset our scheduled plans. If we are traveling or out and about, we might need contingency plans if we confront impediments to our way. After a day of enjoying ourselves, we might use the evening hours to do something unexpected but with a liability of it being somewhat convoluted. Let’s be careful both in our travels and in our discussions since we could lose our direction and things we say may be misconstrued.
Sunday, July 27th – Chilling – Jupiter. The Virgo Moon sextiles Jupiter in the early morning hours. There is not a great deal of energy on this Sunday, a day that might be best engaged by puttering around, taking care of this and that without any intense involvement in significant matters. We can enjoy the comforts of home, take it easy and not tax ourselves with demanding schedules. We could use this day in preparation of getting back into our usual routine with back-to-school sales, autumn wardrobe purchases, and personal makeovers. Repairs and maintenance might be part of our day if we are willing to pull ourselves up from our lawn chair. No expectations are necessary today. On the contrary, we may take this day as employing the sentiment that ‘it’s summertime and the livin’ is easy’. This Sunday is a perfect day for relaxation and recreation. Let’s keep in mind that we’re living during turbulent and volatile times. The whipsaw of energies can have us at times going full on, other times when it might seem as though there is little energy at all, a form of seemingly stagnation, although we could also see the slowdown times as periods of recuperation and rejuvenation. We’ll soon be up and back at it as we gear to get back on track next month, but for today this Sunday is a day when the energy and lack thereof suggests we slow things down, take our time, and chill.
