August 2025

We begin the month of August with a cosmic tone that may feel more heavy than harmonious. Many of us could enter this new month carrying a chip on our shoulder, shouldering burdens, or simply feeling that life’s demands are piling on unfairly. Emotional sensitivity may be heightened, and the longing for escape, or at least understanding, can surface early.

The 1st of August has Venus square both Saturn and Neptune —both currently transiting the independent and often headstrong sign of Aries. These planetary aspects suggest significant challenges in relationships. Whether with family, close friends, romantic partners, or even within our broader social interactions, we might feel unseen, unsupported, or weighed down by old emotional baggage. We may feel encumbered by our past and by our responsibilities. It might seem as though everyone wants a piece of us.

Although not a big proponent of hiding out, I would suggest a personal retreat and taking alone time for ourselves during this first weekend of August. The Sunday may be better, even brighter, with some people making amends for bad behavior.

Mars exits Virgo and enters Libra on the 6th [7:23 PM EDT]. Mars is in Detriment in Libra. While Libra seeks balance and harmony, Mars craves action and assertiveness. In Libra, Mars becomes more indirect, often deferring or delaying confrontation in favor of peacekeeping and trying to make nice with everyone, often to the detriment of our own personal interests. The challenge is to find alignment between self-assertion and social grace without losing integrity.

From the 8th to the 10th of August, we navigate a complex and emotionally charged energetic field. Mars opposes Saturn on August 8th and Mars opposes Neptune on August 9th, intensifying the tension between personal ambition and relational responsibilities. Mars opposing Saturn can feel like trying to sprint while dragging a heavy weight. Mars opposing Neptune may dissolve motivation entirely or cause uncertainty about direction.

This push-pull between “me” and “you” may force a reckoning—are we sacrificing too much, or not enough? These are days that require diplomacy, maturity, and a non-reactive approach. Pushing too hard or issuing ultimatums could backfire. A wise phrase for this moment: “Choose your battles.”

However, not all is struggle. Mars also forms harmonious trines to Uranus in Gemini (August 8th) and Pluto in Aquarius (August 10th), creating an Air Grand Trine—a rare and favorable configuration that opens doors to innovation, transformation, and forward motion. These aspects signal that creative breakthroughs and meaningful, aligned actions are possible, provided we are willing to release what no longer serves us and step into new modes of being.

Adding further emphasis to this intense weekend is the Aquarius Full Moon on August 9th when the Sun opposes the Moon (3:55 AM EDT). Full Moons often bring culminations, revelations, or emotional clarity. Aquarius highlights themes of freedom, individuality, and the collective. Our desire to break free from constraints may rise strongly here—whether from social expectations or inner limitations.

To borrow from Longfellow: “When she was good, she was very, very good, but when she was bad, she was horrid.”  So too this weekend. Some people will rise into their highest potential; others may spiral into interpersonal meltdowns. We could be a little ahead of the curve for some people, and other people may just want to put us down to elevate themselves. If we get into a grudge match with someone, there might be no winners. Finding right connections with a bit of serendipity thrown in can open startling doors and wondrous opportunities. The key is flexibility, awareness, and the ability to step back from ego-driven narratives.

The three transcendental planets of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are all engaged. Let’s recognize that during this paradigm shift, through which we are going, it is essential that we be open to receive and not get in our own way by trying to control everything. The magic of these times is the asequential reality where things can happen quickly, dramatically, and unexpectedly without even a moment’s notice.

While the weekend of the 8th through the 10th of August may demand that we be astute and adept, there are two kite pattern indications in the Full Moon signature on the 9th. We just need to rise above our egocentric personality and view situations from a higher perspective, an awakened consciousness, to take advantage of the opportunities and to meet the challenges for a most successful outcome.

Whether we soared with the eagles or crashed ground bound over the second weekend of August, the second full week of August gives us a breath of fresh air.

On August 11th, Saturn sextiles Uranus, encouraging us to blend structure (Saturn) with innovation (Uranus). This is a powerful aspect for taking grounded, practical steps toward future goals without clinging to rigid ways.

Adding to the positive flow, Mercury ends its three-week retrogradecycle on the 11th [3:30 AM EDT]. Although things might be a little squirrely, as they often are when Mercury first changes direction, Mercury turning direct suggests that clarity, communications, and planning will start to become smoother. We may find it easier to organize thoughts, express ourselves, and coordinate with others. This is a time for us to gently ease back into productivity—neither rushing nor resisting. Let the flow return gradually.

Blending our experience with our curiosity would allow us to step beyond our comfort zone, investigate new ways of doing things, explore new trajectories and then begin a journey step-by-step from where we have been to where we are going.

The two ‘good guys’ of the planetary realm, Venus and Jupiter, on the 12th come into exact conjunction, amplifying their gifts of love, beauty, joy, and abundance. This is an auspicious aspect, ideal for heartfelt connections, creative pursuits, and enjoying the pleasures of life. Family gatherings or home-based projects can be especially rewarding. Yet, Jupiter’s influence always carries the potential for excess. Indulgence—whether in food, spending, or emotion—could trip us up. A helpful antidote would be to declutter and make space. If we rid ourselves of what’s no longer useful, we can invite in something more aligned.

On both August 14th and again on the 18th, Mercury sextiles Mars. These two dates bracket a particularly dynamic and engaging mid-month period. The Mercury–Mars sextile boosts our confidence in speaking, planning, designing, and asserting. This is prime time for makeovers — personal or professional — as well as social engagement. We could enjoy win-win situations with everyone looking out not only for their best but for the best of other people too. Expect creativity to flow easily. We may have fun standing out and finding collaborative ways to share our light. Mid-August is also ideal for vacations or launching passion projects. For students and educators, this period could coincide with back-to-school preparations that are unusually exciting or energizing.

Under this Mercury Mars sextile during mid-August, we can find ourselves enjoying the most pleasant times of summertime. Our creative talents and re-creational activities are at their optimum. What a splendid time for us to enjoy ourselves during this mid-August time.

The Sun exits Leo and enters Virgo on the 22nd [4:34 PM EDT], followed by the Virgo New Moon on the 23rd when the Sun conjuncts the Moon [2:07 AM EDT]. Our focus naturally shifts. Vacation season is winding down; obligations begin to call louder. Virgo is associated with refinement, routine, and attention to detail. New Moons offer a fresh start. This one is particularly helpful for establishing new habits, streamlining systems, or getting back to a healthier lifestyle. Whether it’s meal planning, decluttering your workspace, or updating your daily calendar, now is the time.

The 24th of August has the Virgo Sun square Uranus in Gemini. We are on the threshold of a technological revolution, a time when things can change radically and rapidly. What was, no longer is. If we try to hold on to old methodologies and old tools, we might find ourselves left behind. Although we may not have the bandwidth to fully comprehend what is going on, it would be wise for us to keep abreast of the technologies being developed and the opportunities they provide. We don’t need to know all the bells and whistles; only how technological advancements and their tools can benefit us in our life.  Afraid of the ‘new’ technologies, such as robotics and artificial intelligence, will not stop their progression. And turning our back upon adaptation and adoption of technological tools would seem reminiscent to the beginnings of the industrial revolution when some people would have preferred sticking with manual labor rather than employing the mechanization of production.

Venus exits Cancer and enters Leo on the 25th [12:27 PM EDT], where it immediately begins a series of powerful and pleasant interactions: Venus trine Saturn on the 25th, and Venus sextile Uranus and trine Neptune on the 26th.

This alignment invites us to radiate charm and creativity. Social events may sparkle with vitality. Encounters can seem fated—either through reconnections or delightful chance meetings. We could feel more magnetic and confident in expressing our individuality. A bit of flair goes a long way now.

In this last week of August, the Venus energy engages the three transcendental planets of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto but first Venus connects with Saturn. Old and new connections could all be relatively pleasant, although we might find ourselves sifting through our contacts or back up against someone who is less collaborative, liable to be more belligerent, on the 27th when Venus opposes Pluto.

This can be a moment of reckoning in relationships. Power dynamics, suppressed feelings, or long-held resentments may come to the surface. If we’ve been pretending things are fine, we could encounter a confrontation. Alternatively, this can be a time of passionate intensity and deep emotional breakthroughs—if we’re willing to be honest and vulnerable.

If we have been oblivious to the paradigm shift where we are moving from linear, sequential reality into asequential reality where things occur unexpectedly, almost magically, we might have an awakening on the 28th of August when Uranus sextiles Neptune. Revelatory insight (Uranus) merges with spiritual imagination (Neptune), allowing us to pierce through the veil of maya—illusion—and perceive reality through an awareness of higher dimensions more attuned to the vibratory realm of frequencies of pure energy. We may experience an ascension in consciousness where synchronicities, psychic openings, or simply a profound “knowing” transcend logic.

This is a powerful reminder: we are shifting from linear, sequential reality to an asequential one, where change can be instantaneous, nonlinear, and unpredictable. This is a time not to be lost nor tied down by our old belief systems. By suspending judgment and being open to receive, we can gain extraordinary visions of true reality. We have been living in the maya [illusion] in our society of post modernism, where the subjective supersedes the objective, fiction is taken as fact.  Times of startling insights and a sense of true knowing may be brief interludes in our everyday life but can be so jarring that once experienced can never be forgotten.

The way is ascension in consciousness no matter how long a circuitous route might take.

August 2025… reckoning, rebalancing, and reinvention…
