April 7th – 13th, 2025

The astrology for this week of April 7th through the 13th of 2025 has us getting more in forward gear as we end the three-week Mercury retrograde and look to be more functional and energetic.

We begin this week with Mercury turning direct.  During this Mercury retrograde, not only has Mercury retrograded out of Aries but Mercury retrograded back into Pisces, a Sign of Detriment for Mercury where our thinking becomes more emotional based than rational, and we tend to be confused and lack real clarity.

Murphy’s Law of ‘whatever can go wrong could go wrong’ has been in effect, and it certainly has.  My own experience had, among other things, a major institution losing a check and having no idea what happened to it.  Don’t we all love those black holes?

Mercury turning direct should assist us in our ideas, thoughts, and communication, more so once Mercury comes into Aries on the 16th and even more so when Mercury comes out of its retrograde ‘shadow’ on the 26th.

This week has the Pisces Stellium in play with Mercury, Saturn, and Venus in the Mutable Water Sign and with Mercury turning direct on Monday and Venus turning direct on Saturday.  Mercury is in Detriment in Pisces, Venus in Exaltation.  Certainly, a lot of emotion may rain down on us this week. Storm systems, both emotional dramas and atmospheric, could trigger flash floods.

The early part of this week can be fun, loving, and a good time to get together with friends or spend quality time with a special someone.  Serendipity and being in the right place at the right time might be evidenced early this week.

Mid-week can have us with nose to grindstone, taking care of business, addressing our responsibilities. To be effective and productive, it would be wise for us to consider alternate means, ways to streamline operations, and engage technological tools that allow us to work smarter rather than harder.

Friday and Saturday may find us enjoying the company of those people we love and admire.  Relationships are highlighted with a push towards collaboration rather than looking out solely for number one.

We end the week on Palm Sunday possibly desirous of a ‘time out’ to rest, relax, take care of things around the home front, and lie low.

Monday, April 7th – Changing Gears – Jupiter, Sun, Venus, Saturn, Mercury direct.  Monday begins this week with the Moon in Leo and with the Leo Moon sextile Jupiter and the Moon trine the Sun.  Mercury turns direct [7:08 AM EDT], ending its three-week retrograde cycle.  If this Monday is manic, it’s for all the good reasons.  We may be feeling uplifted, in high spirits, and ready to advance our plans.  No Eeyores or Debbie Downers for us today, no matter the blaring sirens of wailing or the hand wringing that some people are liable to engage.  During these turbulent, tumultuous times, when people are making snap judgments, knee jerk reactions, I repeatedly remind myself of the Chinese parable of the farmer and the horse with the emphatic affirmation of ‘we’ll see’.  With Mercury turning direct today, let’s add on extra time and caution in our comings and goings since shifts in direction necessitate getting used to the change in rhythm and pace.  This Monday is a good day to chat up people, get together with someone special, and enjoy the first hints of springtime with its promise of rebirths, renewals, and new beginnings.

Tuesday, April 8th – Not My Way but the High Way – Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus.   At the beginning of this Tuesday, the Leo Moon squares Uranus.  The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for nine and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Leo and before the Moon enters Virgo where the Virgo Moon today makes no connections to the planets.  Venus sextiles Uranus.  If this Tuesday could be a blank space day when we’re not feeling the pressing demands of mundane matters, then we would be open to surprising developments and interesting trajectories we had not even considered for the day.  Whether we can do things on the fly today or need to address mundane matters, this is a day for us to do ‘different’.  Things that need to be addressed can be done in a streamlined manner.  Time management might come to our rescue and allow us to get more done in a shorter period of time than we imagined.  This is a day for us to get out of our own way and allow magic to unfold.  It may not be the parting of the Red Sea, but unexpected incidents and new technologies can ease our way and help us accomplish a lot.  During this paradigm shift, there are times when we are able to go swimmingly if we will go with the currents.  This Tuesday is one of those days.

Wednesday, April 9th – Taking Care of Business – Jupiter.  The Moon continues through Virgo on this Wednesday, but there is not a great deal of energy until late in the day when the Moon squares Jupiter.  This Wednesday is a good day for us to keep our head down, attend to our responsibilities, and focus on the details of various projects we are working on.  Perhaps we became aware of new ways of doing things yesterday or discovered interests that we wish to develop.  Today provides the energy, although not much of it, to deal with the details and specifics of our involvements.  Whatever our long-term goals may be, we are able to deal with the particulars today with a recognition that integral parts make up the whole.  After yesterday and today when it is suggested that we take care of business and deal with our tasks and the specifics of our obligations, the evening hours would encourage a pleasant get together with someone or with friends.  We may be excited about what we are doing and may wish to step away from our intense concentration on our projects to engage other people.  It might seem as though we are coming out from under a two-day withdrawal and re-entering social engagements.

Thursday, April 10th – Undun – Uranus, Mars, Venus, Saturn, Mercury, Moon Void-of-Course, Neptune.  Thursday continues with the Virgo Moon with the Moon today trine Uranus, the Moon sextile Mars, and the Moon opposed the three Pisces transiting planets of Venus, Saturn, and Mercury.  The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for five and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon enters Libra where tonight the Libra Moon squares Neptune.  One of the challenges for each of us during this paradigm shift is acceptance.  Many of us might not like what is going on in our personal lives or in the world-at-large, but any whining about things is not going to solve our problems or inspire a healthy outlook on living life.  The more we can let go of our expectations and adopt the childlike attitude of awe and wonder, the more we are likely to see the most interesting incidents occurring during this paradigm shift and opportunities that we could hardly imagine for ourselves.  This day calls for us to get out of our own way, drop any expectations we might have, and not try to force things according to our wants and desires.  If we would be receptive to situations unfolding as they might, even if they seem occurring in willy-nilly ways, we could open up to the magic and mini miracles of the asequential reality of this paradigm shift.  Failing that, this day may just be a mess of our trying this, trying that with very little success as a result and feeling at the end of the day undone.

Friday, April 11th – Good Mate – Pluto.  Friday has the Libra Moon trine Pluto early in the day.  Whether we were able to take a different trajectory or were open to things operating in almost supernatural ways yesterday, or we bolloxed the entire day by our expectations and doing things we wanted no matter how many signs indicated that we were just totally in the wrong, this Friday allows us to take a deep breath, relax and enjoy the company of someone who appreciates us unconditionally.  We are often too hard on ourselves, and someone today could both acknowledge our efforts, respect our endeavors, and encourage us to keep on, keeping on in our willingness to get out of our comfort zone.  One of the suggestions for these times is that we allow ourselves to experiment, test the waters, and consider all possibilities, even the seemingly impossible.  There may be times when our queries lead us to fall flat on our face, but other times when our investigations could open doors in a most surprising manner leading us into new trajectories that we might find more rewarding than where we have been.  If we can, let’s consider starting the weekend early, enjoying time with a special someone, getting out into nature and engaging the wabi-sabi attitude of perfection in imperfection.  As the saying goes, this is a day for us to ‘stop and smell the flowers.’

Saturday, April 12th – Get Together – Jupiter, Libra Full Moon, Sun, Venus direct.  Saturday has the Libra Moon trine Jupiter to begin the day and the Libra Full Moon when the Moon opposes the Sun later in the day [8:22 PM EDT].  Venus ends its six-week retrograde cycle and turns direct [9:02 PM EDT].  Relationships may be highlighted and could build off some of Friday’s soulful connection with someone.  Friday and Saturday instill romance in the air, or at least a better appreciation that we are not ‘islands unto ourselves.’  This Saturday is a good day to spend with other people.  In our narcissistic society, heightened by social media where personal contact is made more by text and Internet and less by physically getting together, we tend to be focused primarily, sometimes solely, on oneself.  This Full Moon raises the issue of me or you or us. With Venus turning direct, relationships can be a lot warmer with people less likely to negatively critique others.  A grand adventure with someone, getting out of Dodge and enjoying fun events, would heighten our appreciation for one another.  Get together.  In a sense, such an outing would allow for neutral territory, fresh perspective, and lighten the load of the baggage we travel with.  Friday and Saturday are two primo days for our connections with other people.  Let’s enjoy the people in our lives and welcome the sparkle they add to our life.

Sunday, April 13th – Back at It – Mars, Moon Void-of-Course, Pluto.  Sunday has the Moon finishing its transit of Libra with the Libra Moon square Mars early in the day.  The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost four hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio where late in the day the Scorpio Moon squares Pluto.  The Mars Pluto opposition that has dogged us since earlier this year is reengaged surreptitiously, the energy coming exact again on the 26th.  This Sunday is a day when our responsibilities and commitments may force us to heed demands placed upon us.  We might feel as though our day is not free but rather bound by what we need to attend to.  Let’s avoid grousing about our obligations, a sentiment that would only engender resentment and could prove emotionally and physically draining.  Today, we need to do what we need to do.  Earlier in the week, we may have felt that things were going our way and almost magically with little effort on our part.  Today is quite the opposite.  We can feel behind the eight ball.  Even our plans for future endeavors might seem to fall apart.  It would be important for us not to fall into victim mode or resent our conditions or take it out on other people.  Relationships can be dicey today with us having an itch and feeling uncomfortable and liable to take it out on anyone in earshot.  Let’s not try rolling the boulder up the mountain today, but rather complete the necessary tasks and then lie low, taking time for us to step away, recharge our batteries and even hide out from the maddening crowd.
