The astrology for this week of April 14th through the 20th of 2025 can have us feeling a springtime burst of energy as we gain more Fire but could have us tempering our impetuous nature with a practical, step-by-step approach.
The week begins with us slow starting. We may take the time to figure out what we want to engage and what we need to be rid of. Our sensitivity is ratcheted up severalfold, so it will be important that we not allow our moods and emotions drive our actions. Taking our time, considering our options, and prioritizing our interests would keep us from running headlong into a buzzsaw.
Being patient and considering the conditions in which we find ourselves, a tall order during these wildly volatile times, would help us with the major shifts in energy this week.
Mercury exits Pisces to enter Aries on Wednesday, Mars exits Cancer to enter Leo on Friday, and the Sun exits Aries to enter Taurus on Saturday.
These planetary energy shifts might have us wondering whether we are coming or going with a liability of pushing the envelope and going beyond our reach until we get more of a grip over the weekend.
With Mars coming into Leo, the Mars Pluto opposition will be heightened with the exact aspect occurring on the 26th. Even before that, the Sun’s transit of Taurus will trigger a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Sun square Mars on Sunday, the 20th, and the Sun square Pluto exact on the 23rd.
This second half of April into mid-May can feel like a push-pull where we are moving assertively ahead but occasionally hit an impenetrable wall.
The weekend gives us Easter Sunday, a day in Christianity that celebrates the resurrection. If we would be receptive to alternatives and willing to take the road less traveled, this day could also celebrate our opportunity for an ascension in consciousness. We all can be risen.
Monday, April 14th – Feelings, Maybe Too Many Feelings. This week begins with the Moon continuing its transit of Scorpio but with the Moon making no connections to the planets today. By Sign, we have a Grand Trine in the Water Element with the Moon in Scorpio, Mars in Cancer, and the three Pisces-transiting planets of Mercury, Venus, and Saturn. There’s a great deal of water today and ‘when it rains, it pours’. There may not be a great deal going on today except our feelings ratcheted up. Today is the day before Tax Day in the US, and many of us might consider the amount of energy and the number of days we work to pay off Uncle Sam. We may even question: “for what?” It would be easy to get resentful as we sign away a portion of our year’s revenue to an insatiable government whose stewardship of our tax dollars has come under scrutiny by DOGE and found not merely wanting but wasteful with the bureaucratic cloaking exposed to be shown as corrupt and abusive. Although we may feel powerless to rectify the situation, we could use any anger we feel towards determining our own battle plan by proper budgeting, accounting, and accepting responsibility for our finances and our actions. Whether we have completed our tax forms for tomorrow’s filing, today is a day to take a serious look at our income and our expenditures and determine a prudent way forward. The vagaries of these times demand awareness and mindfulness, characteristics needed to maintain financial security and a “rainy day” fund for unanticipated expenses. The turbulence and volatility of these times may not lessen, might even ratchet up, but we need not fall victim to the conditions or circumstance.
Tuesday, April 15th – Cometh and Taketh Away – Uranus, Lunar Grand Trine, Venus, Saturn, Mars, Mercury, Neptune. Tuesday has the Moon finishing its transit of Scorpio. The Scorpio Moon today opposes Uranus, and the Moon triggers a Grand Trine in the Water Element as the Scorpio Moon trines Mars in Cancer, and the Moon trines the three Pisces-transiting planets of Venus, Saturn, and Mercury. The Moon late in the day exits Scorpio and slips into Sagittarius where at the end of this Tuesday the Sagittarius Moon trines Neptune. Despite this being Tax Day in the US, hopefully we can put the tax bite behind us and appreciate everything we have. We have a kite pattern chart today, and we could use this day to straighten things up in a streamlined and innovative manner. We can put our house in order both literally and figuratively. With the government taking away some of our financial resources, unless they’ve been taken out over the year, today allows us to create a fresh start where we look at our finances and consider a strong budget with an eye to the ups and downs of our expenditures and the liabilities of increasing costs of some of our essential items. Let’s enjoy this day by making changes to our usual patterns and giving thought to how we can work smarter and engage better ways for brighter days. Much of our joy today may be found in the comforts of our home and special moments with loved ones. This Tuesday is one of those days when it would be wise for us to ‘stop and smell the flowers’.
Wednesday, April 16th – Getting a Second Wind – Pluto, Mercury Aries. The Moon in Sagittarius today sextiles Pluto, and Mercury exits Pisces to enter Aries [2:25 AM EDT]. Wednesday may be ‘hump day’ coming as it does in the middle of our work week, but we could be feeling a burst of energy, optimism, and confidence today. Our eyes could be focused more on the distance, our future, than what is right in front of us. Tuesday and Wednesday are two good days for relationships. We may be less anxious, less fearful, and more appreciative of everything that we have. Let’s enjoy our bounties and spend quality time with friends and give thought to what we intend to do rather than what has passed from our life. Mercury exiting Pisces has Mercury coming out from a Sign in which Mercury is in Detriment where our thinking is emotionally driven rather than critical thought. The liability of Mercury in Pisces is reactive thinking and assuming that things are happening to us with us little more than a pawn in some grand play. With Mercury coming into Aries, it ends the Stellium of three planets in Pisces and triggers briefly a Stellium in the Cardinal Fire Sign with Mercury joining Neptune and the Sun in Aries. Our thoughts turn more to our individual interests and engaging our personal best. We are feeling more the springtime impulse with a desire for new starts, new beginnings. We also have a dissociative Grand Trine with the Moon whereby we may be feeling a pivot point between old and new. Winter is fading away, springtime gaining increased impetus.
Thursday, April 17th – All This and More – Jupiter, Mercury, Neptune. Thursday continues with the Sagittarius Moon with the Moon opposed Jupiter. Mercury conjuncts Neptune. This Thursday could prove dicey with a tendency to the ‘overs’ today. Blind faith and over confidence might lead us into excess and trajectories that appear good at the start but turn out to be bramble paths or dead ends. This is one of those days when we need to prevent ourselves from putting on rose-colored glasses and assuming that what we see and what we hope for are what we get. A tendency to make assumptions from a ‘feel good’ attitude can easily get us into trouble. Let’s enjoy the day but put brakes on doing too much or committing to any major undertaking. With a strong dose of ‘spring fever’, we might easily see everything as beautiful and as an incredible opportunity. We may be dazed by the wonder of it all, but it would be wise for us to temper our optimism and wait until we have a clearer head and do serious vetting. This Thursday is a day for us to walk in the sunshine, enjoy the burst of springtime fervor, but avoid significant decisions or long-term vows.
Friday, April 18th – Turn Down the Heat – Venus, Saturn, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course, Neptune, Mercury, Mars Leo. Friday has the Moon finishing its transit of Sagittarius with the Sagittarius Moon today square both Venus and Saturn both in Pisces, and the Moon trine the Sun. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for two and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn where today the Capricorn Moon squares both Neptune and Mercury both in Aries. Mars exits Cancer to enter Leo [12:21 AM EDT]. This Friday is Good Friday in Christian theology, commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus. This Friday astrologically could also seem like a crucifixion for us if we allowed yesterday’s upbeat energies to have gotten the better of us. If we did so, this Friday for us might be a day of buyer’s remorse. Yesterday’s exuberance can degrade into a realization that our wants and choices were excessive and extravagant. This Friday suggests we pull in the reins, take a more serious and practical approach to our affairs, and not get carried away by intoxicating ‘feel good’ moments. Balance is everything and especially during these volatile, turbulent times of metronome-like swings between elation and despair. Not that we need to despair today. We can always rectify situations. We might feel the need to clip our own wings which, while uncomfortable, could prevent us from flying too close to the sun. Mars entry into Leo gives us more Fire, a push to look out for number one, ourselves, but also sets up the increasing engagement of the Mars Pluto opposition further heightened by the Sun’s entry into Taurus tomorrow. We may have a thrust of energy but like a volcano percolating below the surface, we need to find healthy steam vents to release our energy. Physical exercise, walks in nature and maintaining composure would help us to keep a lid on any possible outbursts and yet would provide healthy ways to release our pent-up energies.
Saturday, April 19th – Speed it Up, Slow it Down – Mars, Neptune, Sun Taurus. The Moon continues its transit of Capricorn, but the Moon makes connections to the planets today. Mars trines Neptune, and the Sun exits Aries to enter Taurus [3:56 PM EDT]. Although there is not a great deal of practical energy today with the Moon making no connections to the planets, the Mars trine Neptune can have our motor running with us wanting to head out on the highway and letting ourselves go all out for whatever we want to do. We could be in high gear and accelerating, but fortunately thanks to the Sun entering Taurus we might also apply braking action now and again. The Sun’s entry into Taurus will have us taking a slower, more methodical approach to whatever we do. And such behavior can cause some grating over the next four weeks as the Sun entry into Taurus and Mars entry into Leo triggers a Fixed Sign T-Square with Pluto in Aquarius. The volcanoes, whether the geophysical or our own internal rumblings, can be popping off. Any frustrations we might encounter could precipitate an outburst and outlash where we try to force our will to the point of pushing the envelope or acting out in aggressive behavior. Even on a geopolitical level, we need to hope and pray that strong minds make wise choices during this four-week period.
Sunday, April 20th – Risen – Venus, Uranus, Saturn, Moon Void-of-Course, Neptune, Lunar T-Square, Mars, Sun, Mercury, Pluto. Sunday has the Moon completing its transit of Capricorn with the Capricorn Moon trine Uranus, and the Moon sextile both Venus and Saturn both in Pisces. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for six hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius where tonight the Moon sextiles Neptune and the Moon triggers a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Mars and the Moon square the Sun. Venus sextiles Uranus, Mercury sextiles Pluto, and the Sun squares Mars. This Sunday is Easter in Christian theology, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus into Christed consciousness. The same thing may be true for many of us figuratively; that we have the ability of rising beyond our egocentric perceptions into ascended consciousness. This Sunday might seem like a tale of two totally different energies. Much of the day can be spent in having our head in the clouds while our feet are firmly planted on the ground. There may be serendipitous encounters where we find ourselves being in the right place at the right time. Our mind is scintillating, our conversations sparkling and to the point, and increased awareness is the likely result. Where a problem arises is late in the day. Much of the favorable energies and good feelings morph into a liable ego-driven time where fixed opinions, rigid beliefs and belligerent behavior see the ego rising to the fore with the outcome being the possible battle of wills. Why go there when each of us is being asked to get out of our own way and to embrace the Taoist sentiment of ‘bend like a reed or break like an oak’. Unfortunately, any frustrations in the evening hours may provide a sign of what we might experience over the next four weeks while the Fixed Sign T-Square is engaged with the Mars Pluto opposition raging on.
