The astrology for this week of December 2nd through the 8th of 2024 can have us hopping with social engagements and attempts to forward our personal plans.
The week begins with the possibility of serendipitous encounters. Surprising developments might pave the way for us to easily accomplish our goals.
Although we may be concentrating on those people and situations that could assist us in advancing our interests, let’s avoid becoming enamored by appearances and by promises without evaluating the substance of every matter. It would be too easy for us to accept things at face value with the assumption that everything is going our way.
Mid-week could ratchet up the intensity with a liability of disappointment when we realize that what we see is not what we get. Irrational exuberance may have to give way to rational discernment with assistance from a friend with dispassionate perspective.
During this holiday season it will be important that we avoid metronome-like sentiments of exuberance and despair. Even though we are dealing with a Mutable T-Square impacting this period and increasing our nerves and flaming quick assessments, we need to keep calm and take the time for a proper evaluation of whatever is going on.
Too many people are liable to make snap judgments. This is the second week of Mercury retrograde with Murphy’s Law of ‘whatever can go wrong could go wrong’ in effect.
The arrogance of narcissism can have devastating effects with people marching blindly forward without considering the parameters in which they find themselves or any altering conditions of circumstance.
There is a great deal of energy shift at the end of the week with Mars turning retrograde, Venus exiting Capricorn to enter Aquarius, and Neptune turning direct.
The weekend may prove a free for all with social engagements, shopping, holiday cheer and everyone out and about.
Monday, December 2nd – Good Fortune and Cheer – Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Uranus. Monday begins this week with the Moon completing its transit of Sagittarius and with the Sagittarius Moon square Neptune before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for over five hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn later in the day. The more significant energy configuration today is Venus trine Uranus. We may have an expansive outlook as we start our week, and we might be privy to surprising developments that ease our way. Although unexpected opportunities may arise that allow us to streamline operations and be more efficient with less expenditure of energy, we need to avoid getting carried away by the exuberance of the moment. Let’s be grateful for any advantages this day might bring without taking our good fortune for granted. This day can give us indications of the sudden and unanticipated happenings that occur in this paradigm shift through which we are going, a case of being in the right place at the right time. Such incidents are occasional, perhaps increasingly frequent, but not always a constant. We might enjoy the serendipity of these times without becoming overly reliant on them.
Tuesday, December 3rd – Taking Care of Business – Saturn. Tuesday has the Capricorn Moon sextile Saturn. This day suggests we get down to business, strategically plan our ways forward, and deal with outstanding matters before we become totally immersed in holiday celebrations. Budgeting our time and our finances affirms our ability to successfully manage our affairs. If there are old matters to address, today would give us the focus to tie up loose ends and conclude issues that we do not want to bring into the new year. The one caveat is the fact that we are dealing with Mercury retrograde when whatever can go wrong could go wrong. It would be wise for us to check and recheck before we take for granted that we have effectively concluded any situation. If we need to fix up our home for the holidays or need to make repairs, the energy today is geared for us to do so. Apart from Mercury retrograde, we also need to keep aware of the Mutable Sign T-Square. Persistent involvement and committed determination might be hard to come by. We may find it easier to work with time in a qualitative manner than a quantitative measure, figure out what our productive time cycle may be, and go from one project to another to yet another rather than a singular focus that could have us wind up merely spinning our wheels, getting less done, and procrastinating rather than being more effective by successfully juggling any number of things. This Tuesday is a day for us to get down to business, whatever business that might be.
Wednesday, December 4th – Icarus Redux – Uranus, Neptune, Venus, Moon Void-of-Course, Pluto, Mercury, Jupiter, Sun, Saturn. Wednesday has the Capricorn Moon trine Uranus, the Moon sextile Neptune, and the Moon conjunct Venus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost five hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius late in the day where the Moon conjuncts Pluto to end this Wednesday. Mercury opposes Jupiter, the Sun squares Saturn, and Venus sextiles Neptune. This Wednesday is one action-packed day when the Moon triggers connections with the three transcendental planets of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, as the Moon has done over recent months. This day suggests we be open to doing things differently, drawing upon our intuitive sense to come up with a best practices approach. Mercury triggers the Mutable Sign T-Square with Mercury opposed Jupiter today, and Mercury square Saturn on Friday. We could be feeling our oats today, optimistic and confident of what we are doing and where we are going. Even our relationships can seem close to idyllic with our tendency to see the sterling qualities in that special someone and foregoing any concern about warts or flaws. What we need to be wary of is getting too cocky for our own good. Similar to the lessons in the Greek myth of Daedalus and Icarus, we need to avoid flying too close to the sun as Icarus did. We might become so self-involved and self-affirming that we lose track of the conditions around us and go blithely about only to burn our wings and crash to the ground.
Thursday, December 5th – Forcing My Will – Mars, Sun, Mercury. Thursday has the Aquarius Moon opposed Mars, and the Sun conjunct Mercury. We might assume that what we want we shall get. Many of us have been conditioned into believing that if we try hard enough, we can succeed at whatever we put our mind to. There is some truth to that belief and possibly more so during the pre-paradigm shift when we were dealing in a more linear, sequential reality. That was before we started into the paradigm shift from linear, sequential reality into asequential reality where things can occur in the most unexpected manner and happen more from the prodding of universal forces than by our own personal willpower. It’s hard to change old patterns, alter old mindsets, and we might find ourselves reverting and reenforcing the old belief that by sheer willpower and elbow grease we can bend reality to our will. Such a disposition could prove a challenge on this Thursday. We might want to do whatever we want in accord to our own wishes and desires, but not everyone or everything may accede to our insistence. Relationships may prove dicey on this Thursday due to people grandstanding, wanting to be the center of attention, and negating the interests of other people. Narcissism can run high on this Thursday. It would be far better for us to seek collaboration and cooperation rather than putting on blinders, focused solely on what we want, and willing to go it alone. It’s not merely children who throw tantrums, and that could be today’s liability, people throwing tantrums like hand grenades blowing up around us.
Friday, December 6th – Rolling the Boulder – Mercury, Sun, Jupiter, Uranus, Moon Void-of-Course, Saturn, Mars retrograde. Friday has the Moon completing its transit of Aquarius with the Aquarius Moon sextile both Mercury and the Sun both in Sagittarius and the Moon trine Jupiter early in the day, and the Moon square Uranus in the evening. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over nine and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aquarius and before the Moon enters Pisces early on Saturday morning. Mercury completes its Mutable Sign T-Square with Mercury having opposed Jupiter on Wednesday, and with Mercury square Saturn today. Mars turns retrograde [6:33 PM EST] for the next two and a half months. Today and over the weekend can have various push pulls that leave us exhausted, depressed and deflated. There is a great deal of energy these next three days, but all of it seems scattered. Friday begins with an upbeat, ‘can do’ attitude but intention and implementation are two totally different characteristics. The best of intentions can pave the way to hell, especially when unexpected curveballs knock us off track as the evening hours of this Friday might attest to. Whatever we have scheduled for Friday evening, let’s lower our expectations and have contingency plans in mind. We could feel Sisyphus-like as we try to move things forward, only to have them blocked, as if rolling a boulder up a mountain only to have it roll back on us.
Saturday, December 7th – Phantasmagoria – Venus, Pluto, Sun, Jupiter, Neptune direct, Venus Aquarius. The Moon enters Pisces but makes no connections to the planets today. The Sun opposes Jupiter. Venus exits Capricorn to enter Aquarius [1:13 AM EST] with the Aquarius Venus conjunct Pluto. Neptune turns direct [6:43 PM EST]. This day can be one bizarre day, and one when it would be suggested that we be careful and stay aware, mindful, and not accept anything at face value. We could be besieged by various images, possibilities, and prospects, all seeming appealing, even seductive, in their appearance, but the true content or substance might be questionable, even lacking. Things may seem confusing at best. Our optimism might trigger illusions of hoped-for realities that could prove only to be phantoms of our mind. Relationships may be intense with a desire to seek out characters, those people who are quirky and marching to their own drummer. A nihilist attitude can impel people to greater individuality unburdened by their past, unbounded by society’s mores. This day might seem Daliesque with a surreal quality akin to our falling down the rabbit hole and falling into Lewis Carroll’s wonderland of Alice’s bizarre adventures. Today demands a healthy dose of rationality and sober thought. Or we could just stay in bed and pull up the covers over our head.
Sunday, December 8th – Spinning out of Control before Settling – Lunar T-Square, Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter, Sun, Uranus. Sunday continues with the Pisces Moon with the Moon today triggering in the morning hours a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon conjunct Saturn, the Moon square Jupiter in Gemini, and the Moon square both Mercury and the Sun both in Sagittarius. After the hullabaloo that starts this morning with whipsaws of moods from despair to elation and back, the day ends with the Moon sextile Uranus. Anxiety may be heightened on this Sunday, a great deal of it the aftereffects of yesterday’s phantoms and illusions and disbelief. We might feel emotionally wrung out as we start this Sunday. Rest and relaxation could be the furthest thing from our mind as we sense an itch to get up, get going and do whatever, so long as we are in motion. We can be all over the place on this Sunday driven by an adrenaline rush and fears that if we stop for just a moment the world will come crashing down around us. The best antidote to this notion of life spinning out of control is to slow things down, meditate or reflect or pray, or get out in the divine cathedral of nature where everything appears to be in its perfect, natural order. We are going through volatile times, times when many things seem to be going berserk. But such a perspective is like a horse with blinders on with us only able to see what is right in front of us with our comparisons to the way things once were. What was no longer is. These are dynamic times, times of extreme transitions and radical transformations. The more we can align with the forces unfolding, the more we shall awaken to a greater perspective and the opportunities to ascend in consciousness. The evening hours of this Sunday might provide a salve with interesting insights, those ‘ah-ha’ moments when we witness evidence of magic and mini-miracles, the indications of the paradigm shift through which we are evolving.
