October 28th – November 3rd, 2024

The astrology for this week of October 28th through the 3rd of November of 2024 can be challenging with brief respites during which we can pull ourselves up from the quagmire to catch our breath.

The week begins with us concentrating on our plans but liable to mimic ‘Wrong Way’ Corrigan with our intentions being one way, our actual direction being totally somewhere else.  By taking the time to strategize, concentrate on the specifics, and consider a best practices implementation of our plans, we could accomplish a great amount.

After an energetic thrust to start our week, there can be a lull as we take time to reflect upon our high intensity activity and draw upon input from sources other than our own perspective.

Mid-week could have us feeling our oats and assuming everything will go our way with not a single thing likely to challenge our progress.  Ah, the sublime seduction of narcissism!  Unexpected developments might knock us off our pedestal and force us to deal with variables for which we had not accounted.

Let’s keep in mind that these times of the paradigm shift demand that we neither get too full of ourselves nor too far ahead of ourselves.  There is magic and miracles during these times but also moments of unanticipated curveballs and surprising disruptions.

Wednesday has one of my least favorite energy configurations, Mercury opposed Uranus, when travel might be challenging, computer issues prevalent, and communications unclear or misinformed.

Despite being pulled in various directions on Halloween, the day ends with a romp through Fantasyland and with hopefully more treats than tricks.

The Scorpio New Moon on Friday ushers in the month of November and a two-week period when a cleanup and clear out seem to be in order.

The weekend is a high energy time with two Sign changes adding greater Fire to the mix.  Mercury exits Scorpio to enter Sagittarius on Saturday, followed by Mars exiting Cancer to enter Leo on Sunday.

The early part of the weekend could have us highly productive if we would maintain focus. The end of the weekend might have a combustive energy with actions off the charts.  In most of the U.S. states, daylight savings time ends on Sunday, and we return to standard time, a time shift that often causes several days of destabilization to our circadian rhythms.

This week provides us with more of the ups and downs and spin arounds.

Monday, October 28th – Fine Tuning and Focusing – Lunar T-Square, Jupiter, Neptune, Mercury, Mars, Lunar Grand Trine, Uranus, Pluto, Venus, Saturn.  Monday starts this week with the energy ratcheted up significantly and with a metronome-like quality akin to Charles Dickens’ Tale of Two Cities where today might seem like the best of times and the worst of times.  The Moon is in Virgo and the Virgo Moon triggers both a T-Square and a Grand Trine.  The T-Square is a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Virgo Moon square Jupiter in Gemini and the Moon opposed Neptune in Pisces.  The Grand Trine is an Earth Grand Trine with the Virgo Moon trine Uranus in Taurus and the Moon trine Pluto in Capricorn.  The Moon also creates a Kite Pattern Chart with the Grand Trine Moon opposed Neptune and the Moon sextile Mercury in Scorpio and the Moon sextile Mars in Cancer.  Mars trines Neptune, and Venus squares Saturn.  With all this energy operating, we can imagine how many of us will be on an adrenaline rush with the consequent effect of being eventually exhausted by the push pulls of so much going on.  Monday suggests and demands that we plan out our day and preferably in pencil with a large eraser so that we don’t become fixated but instead are adaptable to changing circumstance.  Another characteristic of this day is what we have experienced over recent weeks: the three transcendental planets of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto all being engaged.  Humility is called for and a willingness to listen to the universal muses and adapt our behavior in accord with whatever and however things are unfolding.  Nothing is likely done in half measure today, but it would be wise for us to have an agenda in mind with a willingness to adapt and change according to the ways things are developing today.

Tuesday, October 29th – Rest in Place.  Early on this Tuesday, the Moon moves into Libra but makes no connections to the planets today.  After yesterday when we could have been all over the place, juggling any number of things and going full throttle, this Tuesday provides a lull and perhaps a necessary stillness for us to catch our breath, regroup, and shake off the intensity of yesterday.  While I categorize this day as rest in place, I would have suggested rest in peace except for its usual connotation of being dead.  Dead, we’re not, but we are liable to be exhausted by yesterday’s theatrics.  This Tuesday is a good day for us to seek balance, employ equilibrium, find peace, and take the time to appreciate the beauty and bounty of living.  It’s often hard to find time to sit back and enjoy the good times when so much is being thrown at us.  We are having to contend with increased living expenses, spikes in crime often at our doorstep, immigration surges with their immediate and future taxpayer costs, inflation that refuses to go away, wars raging here, there, and everywhere, and political divisions that tear at the fabric of society, et. al.  It’s no wonder so many people are anxious and angry.  For many people, it feels as though the world is collapsing and that the best of our times is more behind us than ahead of us.  No matter how dystopian the vision of our future is projected to be, we do not have to succumb to the constant barrage of negativity.  Those moments, such as today, when things slow down allow us to tune out the Debbie Downers and Eeyores and instead engage all the good things that we have in our life.  Let’s enjoy this Tuesday by cherishing the upsides of our life.

Wednesday, October 30th – Don’t Miss the Signs – Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Uranus.  Wednesday continues with the Libra Moon with the Moon in harmonious connection with the two ‘good guys’ of the planetary realm as the Moon sextiles Venus early in the day, and the Moon trines Jupiter in the evening.  Mercury opposes Uranus. This can be a highly pleasant day if we would stay aware of what is going on and not get lost in some idyllic yet oblivious fantasyland.  We might enjoy the company of people who are upbeat and walking on the sunny side of the street.  Perhaps we’ve had enough of the naysayers and those people who see everything as wrong, nothing as right.  Today is a day for enjoyment but to also maintain awareness.  One of my least favorite energy configurations, Mercury Uranus adverse aspects, is in play.  Problems can arise with travel, and especially air travel, technology issues, computer matters and Internet connectivity.  Communications may be off and prone to slights and misunderstandings.  It would be important to drive defensively today, a necessity recently everyday but especially heightened today.  Impetuous actions might lead to accidents, strains, and other mishaps.  This Wednesday suggests we maintain awareness, be mindful, and not lose focus on what is really going on.

Thursday, October 31st – Enough with the Tricks, Bring on the Treats – Lunar T-Square, Mars, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Neptune.  Thursday has the Libra Moon triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Libra Moon squares Mars in Cancer and the Moon squares Pluto in Capricorn.  The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for an hour and a half with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio where today the Scorpio Moon makes no connections to the planets.  Mercury trines Neptune.  Today is Halloween.  We’ve had enough tricks, time to bring on the treats.  Oh, would it be that simple.  This Mars Pluto configuration is one to note, since the Mars Pluto configuration of Mars opposed Pluto is one to watch since it will be in play for much of this next year of 2025, and figures prominently in the US Inauguration chart with the Sun Pluto conjunction opposed to Mars, indicative of liable physical violence against the President.  We need to watch our tongue today, since discussions could turn into heated arguments and even to the point of physical altercations triggered by a misunderstanding or too emotional reaction.  If we can keep a grip on our emotions and not get caught up in the frenzy of this period, then we might escape sheer bedlam.  The evening hours are pleasant times to get together with family and friends.  Earlier intensities soften, and we could all engage the merriment of the fantasies of Halloween night.

Friday, November 1st – Back to Basics – Scorpio New Moon, Sun.  Friday has the Scorpio New Moon when the Moon conjuncts the Sun [5:47 AM EDT].  This New Moon influences the next two weeks up to the Full Moon on the 15th.  Similar to Tuesday, there is not a great deal of energy on this Friday.  What energy there is can be used to cut to the core, rid ourselves of the extraneous, and have us concentrate on the truly meaningful.  There may be increased intensity with people being self-protective, possessive and even jealous of other people’s situation.  ‘Lean and mean’ could be the pervasive attitude.  We need to avoid being a little too much for some people since there could be the disposition of ‘taking no prisoners’, while others might tend to hide out and get away from it all.  This New Moon configuration also heightens the loose-fitting Water Grand Trine with the New Moon contributing to six planets in the Water Signs.  “When it rains, it pours” may be indicative of atmospheric storm systems and emotional ventings.  Let’s try to keep a hold on our moods and emotions, for we could easily lapse into the negative with a focus on what we don’t have and what’s wrong in the world instead of acknowledging what we do have and the positive factors in the world.

Saturday, November 2nd – Sharp as a Tack – Uranus, Neptune, Mercury, Mars, Pluto, Mercury Sagittarius.  Saturday continues with the Scorpio Moon where the Moon late in the day opposes Uranus and the Moon trines Neptune.  Mercury trines Mars and Mercury sextiles Pluto before Mercury exits Scorpio to enter Sagittarius [3:18 PM EDT].  Nothing is likely to get by us today, for our thinking is sharp and forensic-like.  We may be nimble and quick.  We can strip away the nonessentials, get to the fundamentals and be fully aware of what is going on.  We might not communicate everything we understand, but if we choose to do so we are likely to be concise, succinct and to the point.  This is a good day for a major cleansing, eliminating all the extraneous from our lives.  With a Mars Pluto opposition showing influence through 2025, today might allow us to see the positive impact of the configuration.  We may witness the old and outmoded institutions reforming significantly or on their way out.  With Pluto coming into Aquarius, we are about to enter a second American Revolution.  Mercury coming into Sagittarius adds Fire to the energies, but also has Mercury coming into a Sign of its Detriment where our thinking can be so broad that it becomes diffuse, incorporating so many factors that we lose sight of the key themes.  At least with Mercury entering Sagittarius, our thinking can expand, and our attitude may be more upbeat and hopeful.

Sunday, November 3rd – Watch Out – Mars, Pluto, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Mars Leo.  Sunday begins with the Moon completing its transit of Scorpio with the Scorpio Moon trine Mars, and the Moon sextile Pluto.  The Moon then exits Scorpio and enters Sagittarius where today the Sagittarius Moon conjuncts Mercury.  Venus opposes Jupiter and Mars opposes Pluto just before Mars exits Cancer to enter Leo [11:19 PM EST].  Add to the mix that in most of the U.S. states we turn the clocks back, end daylight savings time, and revert to standard time.  The volatility of these times can be witnessed on this Sunday.  The Mars Pluto opposition is an energy configuration that will be with us through much of 2025 and augurs the liability of extreme physical actions, acting out and violent behavior.  During the end of this year and into this next year, it would also be interesting to note any spike in incidents of heart attacks.  The two ‘good guys’ of the planetary realm, Venus and Jupiter, in opposition increase the liability of extreme behavior.  Everyone may want to be Number 1, take their place on center stage, and unwilling to brook any questioning of one’s position.  This can be a dicey proposition with everyone liable to be jockeying for position.  The entrance of Mars into Leo gives a thrust to our personal creative expressions.  Coming out from Cancer, a Sign of its Fall where the physical energy of Mars is weakened, Mars in Leo gives us fire in our belly, a greater willingness to find those outlets where we can stand out and put our personal mark upon our individual world.  This Sunday is a day for us to watch out, take the intensity down, and avoid excesses or knee-jerk reactions.  With the time change in addition to these extreme energies, we are liable to feel out of sorts, unbalanced, and unable to get our rhythm right.
