The astrology for this week of January 2nd through the 8th of 2023, the first full week of 2023, offers us the hopes and dreams for our year ahead with a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
Yes, it’s a new year, and we may all be geared up to make it the best possible under still trepidatious circumstances. After two years of being pushed and pulled by bizarre conditions and unanticipated factors, we may have developed greater flexibility and adaptability to deal with whatever comes our way.
The week begins with our intuitive sense heightened, a willingness to think outside the box, and a determination to put muscle behind our new year’s resolutions. Even if we haven’t listed our resolutions for this new year of 2023, we have the commitment to achieve and to succeed, no matter what we encounter in our path.
We are looking toward our future, focused on the foundation stones to get from here to there, but cognizant of what we have learned from our past, fast receding in our rearview mirror.
We might have a better appreciation of the paradigm shift in which we find ourselves, more willing to be receptive to the input from sources outside our own and accepting of the magic and mini-miracles of the new paradigm of asequential reality.
The first part of this week is a good time for us to give thought and voice to our plans and proposals for 2023. Conversations with other people may provide interesting insights and valuable suggestions, as we consider the wide realm of prospects with a willingness to hone some, concentrate on others, and dismiss those that we determine to be frivolous.
The end of the week and the weekend could give us the incentive to clean up and clear out those things that are best left behind. We can start to lay down the foundation stones of our projects, implement a best practices approach, and with a recognition that we are able to achieve our dreams by our ingenuity, our perseverance and determination, and with the assistance from the universal forces easing our way. We just have to keep in mind that Murphy’s Law of ‘whatever can go wrong could go wrong’ is in effect.
Monday, January 2nd – Off the Starting Blocks – Saturn, Mercury, Neptune, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Venus Aquarius. Monday could truly seem like the start of the new year. The Taurus Moon squares Saturn, the Moon sextiles Neptune, and the Moon trines both Mercury and Pluto both in Capricorn. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for four and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Taurus and before the Moon enters Gemini late in the day. The Gemini Moon trines Venus, which has exited Capricorn to enter Aquarius [9:09 PM EST]. We may be primed to get on with our new year, put into place our resolutions for this year, all the while with the liability of being tripped up by outstanding, past issues. This Monday can be a case of push – pull between old matters and new intentions. It would be wise for us to address any situation that might otherwise trip us up as we try to put the past behind us and advance forward in new directions. Even though Venus exits Capricorn, we still have a Stellium in the Cardinal Earth Sign. The discrepancy between a serious, even somber, tone and a desire for the unique, new and different could have us feeling that we are running a relay race with a hundred pound weight tied around our ankle. Patience may be necessary. Recognizing that experiences unfold in their own unique, even asequential, manner could be called for. The rules of the game of life are changing and forcing us to be flexible and adaptable to a new template of doing our living. This Monday is a good day for us to come off the starting blocks, mindful and aware that during this paradigm shift conditions can change suddenly and unexpectedly with hardly a moment’s heads-up.
Tuesday, January 3rd – We’ve Got This – Jupiter, Mars. The Moon continues its transit of Gemini with the Moon today sextile Jupiter and the Moon conjunct Mars. Late yesterday, the Gemini Moon trined Venus. This Tuesday has the Gemini Moon sextile Jupiter, the other ‘good guy’ of the planetary realm along with Venus. And tomorrow the two ‘good guys’ are sextile each other. What a way to start a year! And it is the start of a new year, which like any ‘birth’ can have us confident, optimistic and seeing a world of possibilities, even the implausible as likely. This first week of the year could have us feeling like we’ve gained a second wind. The past is past, the vexing conditions of recent times behind us, and we may see our past frustrations receding as if viewing them in a rearview mirror. Tuesday might have us throwing open wide the prospects for our year ahead. Nothing is out of the question. We do have to keep a rein on our enthusiasm, for otherwise we could get immersed in so many various activities that we become a ‘jack of all trades, master of none’, becoming a dilettante and satisfied with our dabblings. The early part of this week is a good time for us to consider our options. We do not have to commit to any one thing or to several, but whatever we intend it would be wise for us to make our plans in pencil with a large eraser. Our involvements and the universe input will help whittle down our engagements as we go along.
Wednesday, January 4th – Sorting Through – Saturn, Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Jupiter. Wednesday continues with the Moon’s transit through Gemini with the Moon late in the day trine Saturn and the Moon square Neptune. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for fourteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Gemini and before the Moon enters Cancer on Thursday morning. Venus sextiles Jupiter. This week has offered us the opportunity to consider a wide range of prospects for our engagements during this year of 2023. We have considered ourselves capable of drawing upon a blank slate, and our vast array of hopes and dreams might have proven countless. We have been under the beneficial aspects to Jupiter in Aries and to Venus in Aquarius, with a crescendo today as the two sextile each other. Fortunately, someone may come to our rescue by encouraging us to pursue the most advantageous and attainable involvements and dismissing those projects that seem only frivolous. While we can get good counsel from a trusted confidante, the question will be whether we choose to take their suggestions in mind or whether we are liable to be steered by our emotions which could actually be a case of our momentary delusions. If we can keep our emotions in check, then we could whittle down our many options to a conceivable few.
Thursday, January 5th – Smarter, Not Harder – Moon Void-of-Course, Jupiter, Sun, Uranus. Thursday begins with the Gemini Moon Void-of-Course. The Moon makes no connections to the planets until the Moon moves into Cancer where the Cancer Moon today squares Jupiter. The Sun trines Uranus. We may feel as though we are on the threshold of dramatic changes and radical alterations to the ways we have been doing life. We might not know what the changes are likely to be, only have a sense that change is in the air. Although we can be highly effective by streamlining our operations and utilizing innovative techniques, we might question our ability to realize our goals, preferring instead the so-called comfort of the familiar. This is a day when it would be wise for us to step out of our comfort zone, stretch, explore and consider all possibilities. It is important that we keep our antennae up, be mindful and aware to even the slightest hint of magic, for we may experience surprising developments that are likely to shift our perspective as to how we see things and can open us up to trajectories that we could choose to develop later on. Old patterns might feel reliable but no longer either practical or appealing. We are on the threshold, and not merely the threshold of a new year. We are on the threshold of self-discovery, self-exploration, finding our voice and expressing it in whatever creative venue we may determine.
Friday, January 6th – Where Security Lies – Uranus, Cancer Full Moon, Sun, Mercury. Friday has the Cancer Moon sextile Uranus, the Moon opposed the Sun at the Cancer Full Moon [6:08 PM EST], and the Moon opposed Mercury. It would be wise for us to keep in mind that every journey begins with a first step. The first step does not have to be a giant leap, for even a baby step indicates and gives affirmation to a new beginning. We might feel an inclination to move forward, take a different approach or engage a new direction during the latter part of this week. We might not have the itinerary in hand, may not know the way, but that first step, even a tiny alteration to our habit patterns, initiates change. If we haven’t already done so, this Friday would be a good day for us to clear the decks of outstanding matters from 2022. As the saying goes: “the cup has to be emptied in order for it to be filled”. The less we have from our past impinging upon our present, the more flexible and the freer we can be to consider options and engage alternatives. Although we are living in disruptive, tumultuous times and might be seeking rock solid security in a most unstable world, let’s realize that true security lies within. Few people like radical change, even minor changes, but if we are willing to make adjustments, then the process of greater changes unfolds. This first week of the new calendar year prods us to embrace change and resolve to make this a better year no matter the conditions we might encounter.
Saturday, January 7th – Art of Balance – Neptune, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun, Mercury. Saturday continues with the Cancer Moon with the Moon today trine Neptune and the Moon opposed Pluto. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over four hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Cancer and before the Moon enters Leo late in the evening. The Sun conjuncts Mercury. Friday and Saturday of this week are two days for us to find the balance in our life and to arrange the various facets of our living in a coordinated manner. If we can create sanctuary in our life, both by providing a happy, safe space for ourselves and by determining an appropriate methodology to effectively deal with our many involvements, we are better able to walk the narrow balance beam and successfully advance our interests and our self-development during what otherwise could be crazy-making times. This Saturday is a day for us to be intuitively guided to develop the art of balance in our life, where all our varied engagements work harmoniously together. The early part of this Saturday may be geared towards straightening, tidying, putting things in proper order. The evening hours and Sunday allows for celebrations, good times and fun events.
Sunday, January 8th – When We Are in Sync – Jupiter, Venus, Mars, Mercury, Uranus. Sunday continues with the Leo Moon with the Moon today trine Jupiter, the Moon opposed Venus, and the Moon sextile Mars. Mercury trines Uranus. If we sorted out things over the past two days, tied up loose ends of this last year and provided space on which we can explore new interests, then this Sunday could find us in harmony with the natural unfolding. We could be feeling upbeat, looking for the good things in life, and confident that we can determine our way to good times with good friends. We may have a sense that we are functioning at the top of our game. When we are in sync with the natural unfolding, we might experience wondrous events, startling opportunities and surprising news. This Sunday is likely to be one of those days. While Mercury square Uranus is one of my least favorite aspects due to the ‘misses’ of miscommunications, misdirection and misunderstandings; Mercury trine Uranus offers us the magical and miraculous, incidents of serendipity where we are in the right place at the right time, and positive things occur with our being open and receptive rather than trying to force matters according to our personal dictates. Today we are able to witness indications of the paradigm shift into asequential reality with the unanticipated and unexpected at the fore. We may be operating on greased wheels today, so let’s not waste any advantages or opportunities.
