The astrology for this week of December 19th through the 25th of 2022 is a highly energetic week bridging the autumn season into the winter season at the Winter Solstice on Wednesday, leading up to Christmas Day on the 25th.
The early part of this week has Jupiter exiting Pisces to enter Aries. We initially experienced the Jupiter Aries transit during the late spring into the early autumn before Jupiter retrograded back into Pisces. Now we have Jupiter full throttle through Aries until mid-May when Jupiter enters Taurus.
The Sun moves into Capricorn at the Winter Solstice on Wednesday creating a profound emphasis on the Cardinal Earth Stellium as the Sun joins Mercury, Venus and Pluto in Capricorn. Mundane reality and practical implications can weigh heavily on our festive good cheer of the holidays.
We might feel like a thoroughbred racehorse in the starting gate, waiting, waiting, ever waiting for the gate to be opened. Delays and frustrations might hamper our intentions, but we need not give in to what appears to be going on.
Unexpected encounters could not only put a smile on our face but may also provide the wherewithal for us to advance our interests. If we are unable to go straight through a situation, we can always go around, over or under and achieve our intended purpose. During this paradigm shift, it is essential that we draw upon the magic and mini-miracles of asequential reality — things happening in the most unexpected ways.
The Capricorn New Moon on Friday truly triggers the winter season with times of reining in our enthusiasm, times of feeling our intentions being restricted, and times of honing our self-aggrandizement to effective implementation.
The weekend is geared to the celebration of Christmas, Christianity’s form in Jesus of the celebration of the birth of light. Faith and prayer combined with persistence and perseverance provide a strong and winning combination in our journey forward.
Monday, December 19th – Time to Pause – Venus. Monday begins this week with the Moon in Scorpio. There is not a great deal of energy today until the Moon sextiles Venus late in the day. This Monday is a good day for us to clear the decks, take times for ourselves, and focus on both our completions for this year and our resolutions for our forthcoming year. Despite much of the intensity and frenzy of this time of year and these times in general, today is a day to take things down a notch or two and consider what is truly essential in our lives and what have served merely as needless distractions. One of the gifts of the lockdowns during the virus response was the ability to go on spiritual retreat and do a great deal of inner work on ourselves. We did not have the usual diversions but needed instead to pare down our engagements and concentrate on the most crucial aspects of our BE-ing. This Monday is a good day for us to take a page from our lockdown experience — a time for us to pause, consider the deeper ramifications of our life journey and step away from the frantic nature of mundane life at this time. Meditation, reflection and prayer allow us to still our mind, get out of our own way and connect with a higher power.
Tuesday, December 20th – Twist and Shout – Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Saturn, Mercury, Neptune, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Jupiter Aries. Tuesday continues with the Moon’s transit through Scorpio with the Scorpio Moon triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square as the Moon engages our old nemesis of the Saturn Uranus square with the Moon today opposed Uranus and the Moon square Saturn. The Moon sextiles Mercury, the Moon trines Neptune, and the Moon sextiles Pluto. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for four and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Scorpio and before the Moon enters Sagittarius early on Wednesday morning. Jupiter exits Pisces to enter Aries [9:32 AM EST]. This is one high energy day but demands that we keep our wits about us. We might awaken to the fact that a monkey wrench has been thrown into the spokes of our wheels. Whatever our schedule for this day may be, we could experience an unexpected disruption that demands that we either alter our intended course or that we work smarter rather than harder. While our forward movement can be delayed today and possibly by the needs of someone calling for our attention, we could draw upon time management skills and tighten our trajectory so that we are able to deal both with our personal plans and with the unintended delays to our course of action. Jupiter entering Aries gives us an instigation to move ahead with our individual interests and consider new involvements for the new year ahead.
Wednesday, December 21st – And so it Begins – Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Winter Solstice, Sun Capricorn. The Moon moves into Sagittarius where today the Moon trines Jupiter and the Moon opposes Mars. With the Moon opposed Mars we have the beginning of a Mutable Sign T-Square completed tomorrow with the Moon square Neptune. The Sun exits Sagittarius and enters Capricorn [4:48 PM EST] at the winter solstice signaling the start of the winter season. The Capricorn Sun squares Jupiter. Wednesday is a day when it would be important for us to curb our enthusiasm. With an undercurrent of feeling constrained and even ‘down’ from the conditions and circumstances with which we have to deal, we might tend to do a ‘blow out’ of generosity, indulgence, and a bad case of the ‘too muches’. With the Sun now in Capricorn, we have a four planet Stellium in the Cardinal Earth Sign as the Sun joins Venus, Mercury and Pluto all in Capricorn. The over-emphasis of Capricorn might tend to make our disposition somewhat dour. These may be the holiday times, but not everyone is likely to be lighthearted, joyous and fully enjoying ‘good times’. On the contrary, the liability is that we put on blinders and see only the negative, the arduous and the challenging. Why go there when the winter solstice in the northern latitudes indicates both the darkest day of the year but also the birth of the light as today signals the increasing daylight up to the summer solstice in June? Let’s keep in mind that the light dispels the darkness.
Thursday, December 22nd – Fascinating Encounters – Saturn, Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Uranus. Thursday continues with the Sagittarius Moon with the Moon today sextile Saturn and the Moon square Neptune with the Moon finishing up the Mutable Sign T-Square that began yesterday with the Moon opposed Mars. The Moon goes Void-of-Course for eleven and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn early on Friday. Venus trines Uranus. We could easily be caught up in the frenzy of the holidays. We might be fully engaged with holiday get-togethers, gift buying and seeing the decorations and lighting. It would be wise for us to have our ‘to do’ list of everything we feel we need to accomplish for these holidays. We can be effective in achieving our plans if we have direction in mind and itinerary in hand. Amidst the frenzy of this time, we could have some fascinating encounters, bumping into people we haven’t seen for a while or hearing from people with whom we have had little contact. Unexpected connections may add a little sparkle to what otherwise might seem to some as an obligatory time of social commitments and forced merrymaking. If we look up from everything we need to do, we can see some of the magic of the paradigm shift we are going through where things can occur in a most unexpected manner and give us an affirmation of the wonder-filled world in which we live.
Friday, December 23rd – Forget the Grinch – Jupiter, Capricorn New Moon, Sun. The Moon moves into Capricorn where today the Moon squares Jupiter and the Moon conjuncts the Sun [5:17 AM EST] at the time of the New Moon. The New Moon fully impacts the Sign that the Sun is transiting for the month, and a Cardinal New Moon impacts the season that it initiates. This Capricorn New Moon influences the entire winter season with five planets in Capricorn. The New Moon also squares by orb Jupiter. What we might find today and during the winter season are restrictions to our individual endeavors. Whether we have new mask mandates, new lockdowns, all in response to various viruses flying around, there can be limitations to our personal activities. The powers-that-be may be out with their new list of challenges for us to face. Even the ‘transitory’ inflation we were promised may seem less transitory as much as already baked into the various steps from raw materials through development to manufacture to distribution through wholesale to retail. What goes up doesn’t necessarily always come down and even if it does come down, it might not come down to a level earlier. This New Moon also signals for us how to plan our pursuits with a ‘best practices’ approach in full consideration of the conditions and circumstances with which we are dealing. We may have to be on our toes, but we have already had the basic training in thriving rather than just surviving. This Friday kicks off the long Christmas holiday weekend, and many people may be on the road, in the air or on the trains. It would be suggested that we have contingency plans, not only for any planned travel we have but also for the season ahead.
Saturday, December 24th – Quiet amidst Frenzy – Uranus, Venus, Mercury, Neptune, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course. Saturday continues with the Capricorn Moon with the Moon today trine Uranus, the Moon sextile Neptune, and the Moon conjunct Venus, Mercury and Pluto. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for four hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Capricorn and before the Moon enters Aquarius early on Sunday. Mercury sextiles Neptune. We may be focused on what needs to be accomplished for any social engagements this weekend, and we might find that things can occur expeditiously as long as we don’t have blinders on but rather are open to how things can be streamlined and far more productive than we might have imagined. Our intuitive sense may be heightened with our sense of knowing without knowing. This is a day for us to be open in order to receive incidents of mini-miracles. Things could happen easily and without effort if we avoid getting in our own way. This is Christmas Eve, a day when the veil of Maya is pulled back, and we are able to cut through the illusions of reality and connect with the essence of spirit and soul. This is Christmas Eve, a day when the frenzy is liable to peak followed then by a mystical quiet that is comforting, nurturing and affirming that all is right in the world.
Sunday, December 25th – Galas and Gaiety – Jupiter, Mars. Sunday is Christmas Day and has the Moon entering Aquarius where today the Aquarius Moon sextiles Jupiter and the Moon trines Mars. Whether or not we engage the reverence or festivities of this Christian Holy Day, this day allows us to participate in social interactions. People tend to reach out to friends and family far and near to wish them good cheer. Being a day that does not fall in with our regular routine, this Sunday offers us the opportunity to look forward and consider all the limitless possibilities we can imagine. Nothing is beyond our reach, for we could be feeling confident and optimistic and with a fire in our belly to proceed in exploration of all prospects, all realizable goals. It is days like this when we are able to dispel the negativities, dismiss the anxieties and discount the challenges. Our enthusiasm is likely restored, encouraged by the good wishes of friends and family. Happy Christmas to you and your loved ones with the recognition that all things are possible. And even more so during this paradigm shift out of linear, sequential reality into the asequential reality of things occurring in the most unexpected ways with a large dose of magic and miracles. Yes, even the seemingly impossible may prove possible.
