The astrology for this week of October 17th through the 23rd of 2022 can reflect the wild swings seen recently in the equity markets with the volatility giving us extreme highs and deep down lows.
Everything seems ramped up this week with the Air Grand Trine engaged and Lunar T-Squares liable to trip us up. Yes, this could prove a week when we swing high, swing low.
The week begins with the usual push – pulls that a Monday brings. We may feel obliged to assist someone with their problems, all the while having the sense that our own needs are either delayed or blocked. We could feel more a victim of circumstance than proactive, and it would be wise for us to enjoy discussions and conversations rather than trying to achieve a great deal.
As the week unfolds, we can enjoy the company of other people, feel buoyed by their enthusiasm, and have a sense of vast possibilities that lie somewhere out in the distance. We do have to be certain to engage those people who see the silver lining in the clouds and avoid the Debbie downers and Eeyores who would only bring us down.
Mid-week gives us the hump day of the work week and this hump triggers our nemesis of the Saturn Uranus square raising the question as to what’s new, what’s old and can we even tell the difference?
We may have to differentiate between friend and foe towards the end of the week. Someone might try to obstruct our intended activities by their own drama and their own self interests. It would be suggested we keep our head down, not be distracted by incidents that don’t directly affect us, and as the Brits are fond of saying: “Keep calm and carry on.”
The weekend can be a free-for-all. We could attempt to do too much, especially in a good autumn clean up and clear out. Errands can rule our day on Saturday, but they do not have to ruin our day.
Get-togethers with friends on Saturday evening may offer pleasant memories of good times past and the appreciation of good friends present.
We end the weekend with major shifts in energy. Saturn ends its five-month retrograde cycle and turns direct. And both the Sun and Venus end the Stellium of three planets in Venus-ruled Libra as both exit Libra and both enter Scorpio. The transit of the personal planets through Scorpio triggers a Fixed Sign T-Square engaging the Saturn Uranus square through the third week of November and creates a stuck and frustrating energy that might feel like ‘every which way but loose’.
Monday, October 17th – If Only had the Nerve – Uranus, Neptune, Lunar T-Square, Venus, Sun, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars. Monday begins this week with the Cancer Moon and the Moon today sextile Uranus, the Moon trine Neptune, and the Moon triggering a Cardinal Sign T-Square as the Moon squares both Venus and the Sun both in Libra and the Moon opposed Pluto. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for over six and a half hours as the Moon completes its transit of Cancer without making any further connections to the planets and before the Moon enters Leo early on Tuesday morning. The Sun trines Mars. These times of paradigm shift suggest, even demand if we are to be successful, that we get out of our own way, acknowledge the signals along the way, and recognize that things can occur in the most unexpected manner. Such a disposition runs counter to our early conditioning of our having to make things happen in order for them to occur. But the true new world order is one of serendipity, things happening in a random even inexplicable manner, as if by magic and miracle. This Monday tests our ability to ‘let go, let god’, as twelve steppers would affirm. With the T-Square needing the fourth Cardinal Sign of Aries to provide a necessary balance, we might assume that we do not have the wherewithal, the resources, talents or energy, to engage our desires and implement a self-directed course of action. We might feel like the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz, believing that we do not have the guts or the nerve to assert our individual choices. Even if we only run in place on this Monday, conversations can lighten up our attitude and make us aware of a vast array of options available to us if only we are willing to take off the blinders and be open to receive.
Tuesday, October 18th – Good Day Sunshine – Jupiter, Venus, Mars. Tuesday has the Moon entering Leo where today the Leo Moon trines Jupiter. Venus trines Mars. This Tuesday is sandwiched between two days that might exhaust us, frustrate us, and have us feeling nailed by the ‘slings and arrows of outrageous fortune’. This Tuesday, on the other hand, can have us feeling bright and sparkly, walking on the sunny side of life. We may feel far more in control of situations, able to direct our efforts in a confident and optimistic manner. Whatever might have upset us yesterday no longer has an effect. We can feel at the top of our game, ready to engage our creativity, and looking to put our individual mark on our activities. Our relationships today could be close to idyllic. Even if we felt put upon yesterday, as if our personal interests were being daunted at every turn, this Tuesday provides the encouragement and support of other people, just as we are willing to comfort and assist other people today. Not that we need anything today to bolster our ‘feel good’ attitude. We are far more enthusiastic and exuberant about our own endeavors. We enjoy any appreciation of our efforts, but they would only serve as an added bolster to our rosy disposition.
Wednesday, October 19th – Hit the Wall, Jack – Mercury, Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Saturn, Sun, Pluto. We might have already experienced the wild volatility of these tumultuous times of the paradigm shift. The swings between elation and despair can be extreme and could occur virtually in a nanosecond of time. One moment up, one moment down. It seems as though life has taken on a strangely manic-depressive tenor for these times. Yesterday might have had us traipsing on cloud nine with a sense that all was right in our world. It was a nice relief from Monday when we were liable to have felt behind the eight ball and that conditions and circumstance were arrayed against us. Wednesday begins pleasantly enough with the Leo Moon sextile Mercury, but then the energy shifts and things can start to go downhill. The Leo Moon triggers a Fixed Sign T-Square as the Leo Moon engages our recent nemesis of the Saturn Uranus square with the Leo Moon today square Uranus and the Moon opposed Saturn. The Sun squares Pluto. While our mind can be active with a wide array of possibilities, the implementation can hit some walls. We might feel as if we are walking through quicksand with nary a branch for us to pull ourselves up and out of our personal morass. This day demands patience and perseverance. Even if we are feeling pummeled like a boxer outclassed by their opponent, today is a day to put up with whatever challenges we might face but without giving up. As we are becoming increasingly aware, things don’t last forever. Even the most difficult situations have to let up their grip and release us. The less we give in to any challenging circumstance today, stand firm in our commitment to life-affirming interests, and keep calm; eventually the tide will turn, and things will lighten up and brighten up.
Thursday, October 20th – Go Your Own Way – Mars, Venus, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course, Pluto. Thursday begins with the Leo Moon with the Leo Moon today sextile Mars in Gemini and the Moon sextile both Venus and the Sun both in Libra. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for six hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Leo and before the Moon enters Virgo today. Venus squares Pluto. With yesterday and today liable to find us at odds with someone, it might be wise for us today to go our own way, not rely on anyone but ourselves. We are far more interested in advancing our personal interests rather than playing to the crowd. We don’t have time or space for naysayers or those people who might severely critique or criticize our efforts. This is a day when ‘either you’re with me or against me’. Although we would prefer collaboration with other people, we are not willing to do so at our expense or at the expense of our endeavors. We may be a little headstrong today, but we are determined to place our individual mark on our projects, emphasize our personal interests and with a desire that people wait to see the end results of our efforts before evaluating our process. Later in the day, we can focus on the details, address the specifics and do what needs to be done. Earlier in the day, we are more likely to be banging the drum of our intentions and concentrate on those projects that truly appeal to us.
Friday, October 21st – More Effective, Less Exertion – Uranus. Friday has the Virgo Moon trine Uranus in Taurus. With the monthly transit of the Moon through Virgo, a Grand Trine in the Earth element is created. Today we have the Virgo Moon trine Uranus in Taurus, tomorrow the Moon trines Pluto in Capricorn. Each month we have a period when we can be highly effective thanks to the Earth Grand Trine. Nothing falls between the cracks. We can streamline operations. We are able to persevere in accomplishing our intended goals. This Friday provides us the opportunity to work smarter rather than harder. Whether we draw upon technological equipment or advanced techniques, we could move things along rapidly and effectively. The main characteristic to take advantage of this energy configuration is for us to think outside the box, do things in a way where we can achieve the results that we want without laboriously doing so. This is a day when we can be highly productive and successful in our effort. We may be focusing on the details, taking care of mundane affairs, and tying up loose ends. But we are likely to do so in an expeditious manner without any specific details left undone.
Saturday, October 22nd – Running in Circles – Lunar T-Square, Neptune, Mars, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Jupiter, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Saturn. Saturday could prove a bizarre day. It might seem like a tempestuous start to the day with us running around, only for eventual serenity to calm us down later in the day. Saturday continues with the Moon transiting Virgo. The first half of the day has the Virgo Moon triggering a Mutable Sign T-Square with the Moon opposed Neptune and the Moon square Mars. We could be running around with our ‘to do’ list in hand trying to do any number of errands, all the while being distracted by this and that. It would be wise for us to have a course of action and utilize time management skills to keep us on track and have us being effective and productive rather than just expending a great deal of energy with little to show for it. After the day’s early frenzy, the Virgo Moon trine to Pluto in Capricorn completes the Earth Grand Trine that the Moon began yesterday with yesterday’s Moon trine Uranus in Taurus. We can get a grip, if we slow things down and adhere to our plan of action. After the trine to Pluto, the Moon goes Void-of-Course for seven hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon completes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon enters Libra late in the day. The Libra Moon opposes Jupiter. The Sun conjuncts Venus, and Mercury trines Saturn. This Saturday can be paradoxical with frantic, manic activity to begin the day, and pleasant, serene engagements later in the day. Ah, the extremes and whipsaws of our times with the need to find balance during these tumultuous, disruptive times.
Sunday, October 23rd – And Then it All Changes – Venus, Sun, Saturn direct. Sunday continues with the Libra Moon but with the Moon making no connections to the planets today. Libra seeks balance, and we may well need to grab hold of the concept and try to implement it on this Sunday as major energy changes occur today. Both Venus and the Sun change Sign. Venus exits its own Sign of Libra to enter Scorpio [3:52 AM EDT], a Sign of Detriment for Venus. The Sun also exits Libra to enter Scorpio [6:36 AM EDT]. The Stellium of three planets in Libra is ended, and we move into a period through the third week of November when the Scorpio-transiting planets trigger a Fixed Sign T-Square with Uranus in Taurus and Saturn in Aquarius. Saturn ends its five-month retrograde cycle to turn direct [12:07 AM EDT]. This shift in energy becomes even more intensified with the Scorpio New Moon this coming Tuesday. We are moving into a period when we might become blatantly aware of the ravages of inflation, if we have not already discerned the rising costs of virtually everything. The sense of contraction on our lives may demand that we become increasingly resourceful and that we are able to do more with less. We might be entering a time when we can live the truth that ‘living simply is not simply living’. Just as nature in the northern latitudes strips away its coverings to reveal its basic structure, so too are we being asked to dispense of the superficial and shallow to concentrate on the essential and substantive in our lives. Today is a good day for inventory-taking and to perform a major clean up and clear out of the extraneous from our lives.
