The astrology for this week of January 24th through the 30th of 2022 has us smack dab in the middle of the Mercury retrograde with the volatility ratcheted up but our productivity likely to be enhanced.
Although the belief in the official narrative may be waning and our interest in affirming our independence increasing, this week may have us going back over situations we might once thought resolved. Whenever power seems to be slipping away, there is a tendency to hold on tighter, enforce one’s authority and revert to old ways and old narratives. And so it may be this week.
This past week gave us a thrust of liberty, freedom and independence with the trigger of a Stellium of three planets in Aquarius. This week loses the Aquarius Stellium and re-creates a Capricorn Stellium that we have been dealing with at the end of last year, earlier this year, and back in 2020.
With Mars exiting Sagittarius and entering Capricorn, Mercury retrograding out of Aquarius and back into Capricorn, and Venus turning direct in Capricorn, we should not be surprised if old formats are reintroduced, old structures retrofitted.
On a personal level, this strong emphasis on Capricorn this week gives us the impetus to be constructive, serious in our endeavors, with our eye on the end results. We could be focused on what we want to accomplish, determined to achieve our goals, but with little levity to brighten our days.
This week is more likely a week to have nose to grindstone pushing our projects forward rather than giving us much downtime or time to recreate.
Monday, January 24th – Less is More – Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Mars, Mars Capricorn. Monday begins the week with the Libra Moon where late in the day the Moon squares Pluto before the Moon goes Void-of-Course for five and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Libra and before the Moon enters Scorpio where at the end of the day the Scorpio Moon sextiles Mars, which earlier today had Mars exiting Sagittarius to enter Capricorn [7:53 AM EST]. We might prefer chatting up people, engaging in various diversions, almost anything but what we need to get done. Our responsibilities can be beckoning, but we might not heed the call until it virtually becomes a deafening roar. With Mars entering Capricorn, a Sign of Exaltation for Mars, a Capricorn Stellium of three planets in the Cardinal Earth Sign is recreated as Mars joins Venus and Pluto in Capricorn. We may become focused on our greatest ambitions and could get serious about achieving our long-standing goals. Some of our recent upbeat attitudes can become muted as we look to be effective, all the while that we are considering the pursuit of our most significant and important matters. No trifling for us now, we are determined to get things done.
Tuesday, January 25th – On a Wing and a Prayer – Jupiter, Venus, Lunar T-Square, Mercury, Sun, Uranus, Mercury Capricorn. Tuesday continues with the Scorpio Moon with the Moon today engaging the two good guys of the planetary realm, Venus and Jupiter, as the Moon trines Jupiter and the Moon sextiles Venus. While we can draw upon our faith and the assistance of someone to pare down our involvements in order to concentrate on the truly meaningful, this Tuesday also has the Scorpio Moon triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square as the Moon squares both Mercury and the Sun both in Aquarius and the Moon opposes Uranus. Mercury retrogrades out of Aquarius and back into Capricorn [10:05 PM EST] adding to the Stellium in Capricorn as Mercury joins Mars, Venus and Pluto all in the Cardinal Earth Sign. While we might prefer stepping off the track to enjoy the company of someone or just to take a ‘time out’ and escape into a movie or other diversion, we seem strapped into acknowledging and addressing our routine tasks and what we need to get done. Even if we have our schedule well planned out for this Tuesday, things may not go according to our plan. Unexpected situations could arise that cause delays or frustrations, and it is important for us to keep in mind that we are slogging through Mercury retrograde. It would be far better for us to deal with matters step by step, constantly evaluating and checking to be certain that nothing is unwinding that might later trip us up. This is a time for us to concentrate on the details and the specifics without losing sight of the bigger picture.
Wednesday, January 26th – Tapping the Foot – Saturn, Neptune, Pluto. Wednesday continues with the Scorpio Moon with the Moon today square Saturn, the Moon trine Neptune, and the Moon sextile Pluto. Last year, we dealt with a year-long nemesis of a Saturn Uranus square. We continue with traces of this influence this year and did so yesterday when the Scorpio Moon opposed Uranus and today with the Moon square Saturn. The push pull between old and new, between restrictions and independence, between collective opinion and individual expression, impacts our Tuesday and Wednesday of this week where the Hollywood entertainment maxim of ‘hurry up and wait’ is at play. Unanticipated variables yesterday, delays and impediments today could prove vexing. Our attitude will be a large component as to how we view what might be going on. The more we can have a sense of bemusement regarding any dysfunctional incidents we might encounter, the less negatively influenced we are likely to be. We may even realize that upsetting matters and obstacles in our way could actually benefit us in the long run by forcing us to slow down and constantly check on how we are doing and where we are going with an understanding that our projects and our activities have a life of their own with their own twists and turns and sometimes open up to alternate trajectories we might consider.
Thursday, January 27th – Okay, a Little Levity – Mercury, Jupiter, Sun. The early morning hours of Thursday has the Scorpio Moon sextile Mercury. The Moon then goes into Sagittarius where today the Moon squares Jupiter, and the Moon sextiles the Sun. The first three days of this week could have had us with our shoulder to the wheel, whether willingly or begrudgingly, as we dealt with our responsibilities, our year’s resolutions, and our goals. We may have taken a serious tenor to our life and our daily involvements and done so during Mercury retrograde [always a caveat]. Thursday and Friday offer us a respite from any nose to grindstone disposition of the last three days and the upcoming weekend. Although we are likely to be in expansive and upbeat mood on this Thursday, let’s keep in mind that too much of a good thing can be ‘too much’. As though taking a break from our obligations, we might prefer spending time on Thursday with a good friend or contemplating our future plans or indulging in good food and wine. This is a good day for us to step off the track, do something out of the ordinary, and recharge our batteries. While Thursday and Friday might provide a lull in the action, we are likely to be back at it over the weekend.
Friday, January 28th – Keeping it Straight – Saturn, Neptune, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Pluto. Friday continues with the Sagittarius Moon with the Moon today sextile Saturn and the Moon square Neptune. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for fourteen hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Sagittarius and before the Moon enters Capricorn on Saturday morning. Mercury conjuncts Pluto. Thursday and Friday are the two days of this week when we are less likely to have our head down and concentrating primarily on what is right in front of us. We can continue to explore our prospects in an optimistic manner on this Friday. We can consider the right template, the right methodology, and the right direction for our future endeavors. What we have to be wary of is getting carried away with fantasies and illusions. The more we can flesh out our plans in specific detail with an appreciation of doing so in pencil with a large eraser, recognizing that during this paradigm shift things can operate in the most inexplicable manner, the less likely we are to go off assuming that everything will fall neatly into place with little effort on our part. Blending practical application with foresight, we can build our future on solid ground with a sturdy foundation and yet with a flexibility that can adapt to changing circumstance and condition. Our mind is sharp and incisive, and we can develop our ideas with few details left out.
Saturday, January 29th – Back at It – Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Venus, Venus direct. Saturday has the Moon moving into Capricorn where today the Capricorn Moon conjuncts Mars early in the day, and the Moon conjuncts Venus late in the day. Between these two conjunctions, the Moon sextiles Jupiter and the Moon trines Uranus. Venus turns direct [3:46 AM EST]. As though Thursday and Friday provided moments for us to catch our breath, to enjoy ourselves, and to recharge our batteries, Saturday and Sunday can have us back at it, focusing both on what we need to accomplish presently and developing the foundation stones of our future. As though we are gassed up and ready to go, Saturday and Sunday could have us persistent, determined, and willing to virtually move mountains. We are able to take on more, especially when we engage streamlined methodology, eliminate the irrelevant and focus on the truly meaningful. Once set in direction, our energy could be indefatigable. As in earlier this week, Saturday and Sunday can be two truly productive days.
Sunday, January 30th – Dotting the I’s, Crossing the T’s – Neptune, Mercury, Pluto, Sun, Uranus. Sunday continues with the Moon in Capricorn with the Moon today sextile Neptune, and the Moon conjunct both Mercury and Pluto. The Sun squares Uranus. Yesterday and today are two days when we can get a great deal done, both in regard to our usual tasks and our long-range goals. Our visionary perspective and our intuitive sense may be harnessed for us to take care of specific particulars in order to build a solid foundation. Apart from Thursday and Friday when we might have wanted to step off the track and enjoy ourselves, this week has had the potential of being a highly effective and productive week when we could get a lot done. Our commitment to excellence may have impelled us to get more done than we might have thought humanly possible. The one thing we have to be wary of on this Sunday is being diverted from our purpose by hearing about interesting diversions or by taking part in social occasions. This day is better served by our not losing our rhythm or our pace but plowing ahead with determination to advance our interests and lay the groundwork for our future goals.
