November 15th – 21st, 2021

The astrology for this week of November 15th through the 21st of 2021 suggests that we may be swinging widely with extreme highs and lows.

Poking the bear is ill-advised, and this week each of us might be the bear.

With the Scorpio-transiting planets highly active this week we could strip away the decorative, get down to the fundamentals, and see what is really going on. We can be like Dorothy and her three compadres in The Wizard of Oz pulling back the curtain of ‘Oz the Great and Terrible’ to discover a little guy pulling the strings.

We are liable to feel ridiculous that we handed over so much of our own personal power and like lemmings joined the march to the sea.

Why shed tears or engage in self recriminations when we have been conditioned and bombarded by constant stimuli from birth to a narrative that is often no more than consensus opinion?

Reality is what we perceive it to be, although our perceptions are largely steered by the collective.

This week offers us the opportunity to break through the illusions and regain our personal strength. As author and medical intuitive Caroline Myss has written: “When you do not seek or need external approval, you are at your most powerful.”

Similar to nature itself during this time of year, we too can embrace the Scorpio influence now and tear down the superfluous to focus on the truly essential.

This week is punctuated by the Mars Uranus opposition on Wednesday and the Taurus Full Moon, a Lunar Eclipse, on Friday.

We close out the week on Sunday with the Sun entering Sagittarius and in so doing ending the Stellium of three planets in Scorpio.

If we clear out the dross and eliminate the rubble, we can see brighter days through better ways in our journey ahead.

Monday, November 15th – Self Engaged – Saturn, Venus, Sun, Jupiter. Monday begins the week with the Aries Moon and the Moon today sextile Saturn and the Moon square Venus. The Sun squares Jupiter. A thrust of self-affirmative energy can give us the impetus to pursue new projects, new trajectories for our self. We might be a little too self-absorbed and consequently put on blinders. We could feel that whatever we want we can have and can have the ways in which we want it. This is a day for us not to close ourselves off from input from other people or other sources. Otherwise, we could become myopic and see and believe only what we want to see and what we want to believe. Over confidence and misplaced determination could lead us down a garden path. This is a day when we need to be open to suggestions and input from other sources in order to have braking action and keep us from speeding ahead without being fully clear about our direction, conditions along the way, or our intended destination. With the Stellium in Scorpio, we have the liability of keeping our cards too close to our chest, not sharing our understanding of the circumstances in which we find ourselves and assuming that we are solely ‘islands unto ourselves’. This day suggests the importance of moderation and not going all-in on anything. We also need to avoid possessiveness and jealousy, for we could have an attitude of ‘you’re either with me or against me’. We might feel lonely, but our loneliness is only our closing ourselves off to other people. It would be wise for us to loosen our self-protectiveness and enjoy the company and ideas of other people.

Tuesday, November 16th – Before It’s Too Late – Jupiter, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Sun. Tuesday continues with the Aries Moon with the Moon today sextile Jupiter and the Moon square Pluto. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for ten and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Aries and before the Moon enters Taurus late in the day. The Sun sextiles Pluto. Arrogance and assumptions that we can do no wrong could prove our undoing today. Blind faith and groundless optimism might lead to shooting ourselves in the foot. If we would concentrate on the truly meaningful and the really important, we can decipher between what would serve us and what are only needless distractions. We might feel in an expansive and upbeat mood, but we have to prevent getting caught up in a ‘feel good’ attitude that makes us oblivious to conditions and negates what is really going on. We also have to have a heads-up of the influence of tomorrow’s energy of the Mars opposition Uranus with the liability of impulsive, even reckless actions, that could make us accident prone. These two weeks from the Scorpio New Moon back on the 4th up to this Sunday’s Full Moon are fraught with increased tensions and boneheaded actions. The intensity demands full awareness and keen mindfulness. For myself while driving, I was barely able to avoid someone coming out of a side street without looking and nearly T-boning me. Today, tomorrow, and Thursday demands that we be careful out there.

Wednesday, November 17th – Ain’t Over – Venus, Lunar T-Square, Uranus, Saturn, Mars. Today and tomorrow have the Taurus Moon triggering Fixed Sign T-Squares. Today, the Taurus Moon engages our year’s nemesis of the Saturn Uranus square with the Moon conjunct Uranus, the Moon square Saturn, and the Moon opposed Mars. The Moon trines Venus. Mars opposes Uranus. This day demands extreme caution with virtually everything — our finances, our actions, our health, etc. Impetuous actions can make us accident prone. This day tells us to put up with delays and trying conditions. Forcing anything could create havoc and cause more damage than resolving matters. By now we should be used to this Saturn Uranus configuration, but as Yogi Berra would say: “It ain’t over ‘til it’s over”. Still ain’t over. The push pull between old and new, between freedom of movement and imposed restrictions, might continue on through the rest of this year, but it can have less of a hold on us. Perhaps we’re getting use to the theatrics, the manipulations, and the sudden, unexpected changes. We may even be better able to navigate the swirling currents without the swells getting the better of us. Today and tomorrow caution us to go slow, maintain a sense of bemusement, and recognize that nothing lasts forever.

Thursday, November 18th – Higher Mind – Neptune, Pluto, Lunar T-Square, Mercury, Jupiter. Thursday has the Taurus Moon sextile Neptune and the Moon trine Pluto with another Fixed Sign T-Square sandwiched in between as the Taurus Moon opposes Mercury and the Moon squares Jupiter. Mercury trines Neptune. If we don’t get stymied by various mundane affairs occurring in our personal lives or in the world-at-large, we could draw upon our inner voice, our intuition, to grasp a greater understanding regarding what is going on and what is truly significant as opposed to those incidents that are only so much babble. We can be highly attuned to our truth and our way forward, but we do need to negate the constant bombardment of stimuli and confusing mixed messages. We have the ability to zero in on the fundamentals and the core of any situation. Our mind is sharp, penetrating the hype, along with an intuitive sense of ‘knowing without knowing’. Whether we have developed our skill at reading between the lines and cutting through all the clutter, or we are thrown back upon trusting our instincts, we are less likely to be fooled than we once were. This is a day to draw upon our higher mind, and we could do so through contemplation, prayer or meditation. Being silent and one with the universe, we may be far more attuned to what is really happening.

Friday, November 19th – All Fall Down – Taurus Full Moon, Lunar Eclipse, Sun, Moon Void-of-Course, Venus, Uranus. Friday has the Taurus Moon opposed the Sun at the time of the Full Moon [3:57 AM EST], a Lunar Eclipse. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for five and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Taurus and before the Moon enters Gemini today. Venus trines Uranus. The Full Moon is in orb of the Moon trine Pluto and the Sun sextile Pluto. We are all going through major transformations — as individuals, as societies, as the world-at-large. We may feel as though we are going through a crash and burn, and we would be justified in thinking so. Living costs of food, gasoline, utilities, housing are all going up significantly. At the same time, there is a disruption in supply chain distribution causing liable shortages and creating anxiety that there won’t be this, that or the other available to us. Add to these issues the compression of time where we are racing into the holidays before their time, and anxiety-provoking concerns about virus upticks. Fear is rampant and a powerful tool to steer and control people. While we could wring our hands in despair and a belief in our powerlessness, we can also see these times as dynamic forces to make radical transformations in our lives. Things may collapse and be torn asunder, but we know from nature and universal law that from every death a new birth is born. We might feel anxious on this day, but often we are with a Full Moon, yet there could be a serendipitous encounter with someone who calms our nerves and assures us that everything will eventually be all right. We just have to believe, not lose faith, and do what we can to make our world a better place.

Saturday, November 20th – So Many Options, Too Little Time – Saturn, Mercury, Jupiter. Saturday has the Gemini Moon trine Saturn, and Mercury square Jupiter. We might have a lot going on today. It would be wise to make a list of our intended activities before we start out. The liability of being overwhelmed by a vast assortment of possibilities cannot be discounted. If we have itinerary in hand and employ time management techniques, then we might be able to get more done than if we just go out and carom from one thing to another. Chatting up someone about our prospects could provide ideas and suggestions we had not considered and can help us focus on those potential involvements that have a real chance of working out successfully. This is also a day to avoid throwing money at things. There is a tendency in our conditioning and in our society to believe that throwing money at issues and problems will resolve them. We could be enamored by things we see and activities which we may wish to engage. Keeping tabs on our expenditures might prevent us from overspending or buying things largely on impulse. We are likely to have many options today, but let’s take the time to consider what we are going to pursue with the recognition that we might not be able to participate in everything that captures our fancy. Today’s a case of so many options, too little time.

Sunday, November 21st – Let the Good Times Roll – Neptune, Jupiter, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury, Pluto, Sun Sagittarius. Sunday continues with the Gemini Moon with the Moon today square Neptune and the Moon trine Jupiter. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for almost twelve hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Gemini and before the Moon enters Cancer late on Sunday. Mercury sextiles Pluto, and the Sun exits Scorpio to enter Sagittarius [9:34 PM EST]. The Sun’s exit of Scorpio ends the Stellium in the Fixed Water Sign, adds Fire to the mix, and begins the holiday spirit of hope, cheer and uplift. Saturday night may have had us enjoying a good time too much, and if we did, we might pay the price for it early on Sunday. Although we could feel as though we have a great deal to do, we are likely to be slow starting as we begin this day. Let’s not push ourselves to get going even though we are being pushed by holidays song renditions and advertising marketing to start the shopping for presents early to be certain we get what we want in case of supply chain disruptions putting a damper on our gift selections. Whether we focus on the material or the spiritual characteristics of the holidays, we are like to be feeling more upbeat and cheerful. The driving forces of greed and fear have turned from the fearmongering of the past year plus to the present focus now of greed through various indulgences. No matter. Let the good times roll.
