The astrology for this week of August 9th through the 15th of 2021 has us under the influence of the Leo New Moon on the 8th and with it a Fixed Sign T-Square influence that could have us feeling pushed, pulled and every which way but loose.
Whether we are back on track with our regular affairs or taking a breather from present day’s hurly-burly, the week begins with us needing to read between the lines and as I always suggest: “Check the source. And check their agenda.”
Buying into the hype of a narrative and assuming a goodness in people or situations that might be more an image than a reality could land us in deep trouble. Even if we get snookered by someone or something to begin the week, we can be more grounded and realistic as we move into the week.
Mercury exits Leo to enter its own Sign of Virgo mid-week and in doing so creates a brief Stellium in the Mutable Earth Sign. By Sign we have a Grand Trine in the Earth Element with five planets in Earth. We may have our feet on the ground and our attention focused on practical matters, but every now and then we need to look up, look beyond, and recognize that there are things far greater than mere mundane situations.
Let’s not put on blinders nor concede our truth-seeking to strict compliance to what we are told. We are to be adults, even spiritual warriors, during this life journey, no matter how bleak the environment might seem.
Fortunately, with Mercury in Virgo we are likely to engage our reasoning mind, be less led by emotion, and more willing to engage due diligence with a critical, even jaded, eye. Some of us might feel that we’ve been led down the garden path with various contradictions, flip-flops, and questionable assertions from all sides. It can seem crazymaking if we hand over own individual choices and our responsibility for our own actions and our decisions.
If we are not deceived by our emotions and our fears, we could pull back the curtain of the Wizard of Oz screen and see the little guy pulling the strings.
The latter part of the week offers us time with that special someone or the special people in our life. Whether lockdowns or restricted interactions, we are not ‘islands unto ourselves’. We are social animals, and we do need connection with other people. Thursday and Friday are days for us to enjoy the company of others
The weekend may prove dicey with two Fixed Sign T-Squares, one on Saturday, the other on Sunday. Saturday’s T-Square triggers our year’s nemesis of the Saturn Uranus square, but would also serve as a good time to clean up and clear out the dross from our lives. We may be either back on track or preparing to get back on track of whatever our new ‘normal’ may be. The weekend may dampen our re-creational activities but would allow us to prepare for getting into our new ‘normal’.
Monday, August 9th – Warts and All – Mercury, Jupiter, Mars, Venus, Neptune. This Monday begins the week with the Moon continuing its transit of Leo with the Moon conjunct Mercury and the Moon opposed Jupiter. The Moon then enters Virgo where at the end of the day the Moon conjuncts Mars. Venus opposes Neptune. We are liable to go a little overboard as we start the week, wanting to put our personal mark upon things and being a little grandiose in our presentations. We have to keep in mind the old saying: “a fool and his money are soon parted”. And it may not be merely finances. This is a day when we could buy into all sorts of illusions and delusions. Are we truly willing to be a mark? Today we could be a mark, unless we keep our wits about us. We might be infatuated by someone or something. With a sense of boundless confidence, we could assume that nothing will go wrong. And that can prove a costly error. Let’s keep our enthusiasm in check today and be certain that the appearance is matched by the content. Late in the day, we are likely to get a better grip on what is really going on, step out of fantasyland, and be far more selective and discriminating in what we involve ourselves. Once focused, we may be more on track regarding what we can actually get done and more attentive to the specifics of the situation.
Tuesday, August 10th – Inventive with Humility Needed – Uranus, Mercury, Jupiter. Tuesday has the Virgo Moon trine Uranus, and Mercury opposed Jupiter. Tuesday and Wednesday have the Moon triggering a Grand Trine in the Earth element with the Moon trine Uranus in Taurus today, followed tomorrow by the Virgo Moon trine Pluto in Capricorn. Today, we can be highly innovative, utilize streamlined methods and accomplish a great deal by addressing the specifics in an expeditious manner. We have to be wary that we don’t think we could accomplish ever more. Our confidence today may know no bounds with a belief that everything will fit neatly together. If we harness our optimism and focus our attention on what we need to get done, we could be effective in everything we do and exceptionally productive. The key to the success of this day is for us not to get carried away by our own self-importance. Blind faith, limitless self-congratulations, may steer us off track, and like a runaway train we might gain momentum and wind up flying off the rails. Today calls for us to maintain humility, a rough quality to engage when many of us are liable to feel beaten down by the constant haranguing of fear and divisiveness so prevalent in our society presently. It would be important for us to engage projects that allow us to express our talents while at the same time not needing the accolades of anyone other than our own personal enjoyment.
Wednesday, August 11th – All Together Now – Neptune, Venus, Pluto, Moon Void-of-Course, Mercury Virgo. Wednesday continues with the Virgo Moon with the Moon today opposed Neptune, the Moon conjunct Venus and the Moon trine Pluto, completing the Earth Grand Trine that the Virgo Moon began yesterday with the Moon trine Uranus. The Moon then goes Void-of-Course for eight and a half hours with the Moon making no further connections to the planets as the Moon finishes its transit of Virgo and before the Moon enters Libra later in the day. Venus trines Pluto, and Mercury exits Leo to enter its own Sign of Virgo [5:57 PM EDT]. With Mercury entering Virgo, much of our focus will turn to our usual activities. Summer may not be over, but our attention might be diverted to either getting back in the swing of our normal schedule or preparing to get back on track. Mercury in Virgo creates a brief Stellium in the Mutable Earth Sign as Mercury joins Venus and Mars in Virgo. If we didn’t get carried away over the past two days by being too self-absorbed or having too much fun, then this Wednesday provides the energy to blend our intuitive sense and our foresight with practical and successful implementation. The 11 is a Master Number in numerology and speaks to the Visionary. This is a day when we can combine vision with strategy to pursue endeavors that could prove highly successful. If we went a little overboard in either our engagements or our presentations over the past two days, we can whittle down any excesses and focus on the true essence of our involvements.
Thursday, August 12th – Get Together – Saturn. Thursday has the Libra Moon trine Saturn. Thursday and Friday this week might be two days when get-togethers with friends or time spent with a special someone can recharge our batteries and give us a second wind. All of us have experienced social isolation as a result of the lockdowns we’ve been through and those that are threatened forthcoming. Humans are social animals. We enjoy the camaraderie of other people, opportunities that have been largely missing over the past year plus. Although we often think of weekends as a time of social engagements, the new ‘normal’ throws out a lot of the traditional ways and mores. Not that we are devolving into the dystopian society of a Lord of the Flies, hopefully. But we do need social interactions, and the recent past weekends and this weekend are far less amenable to having good times with good friends. Thursday and Friday this week are. Reaching out to people with whom we haven’t been in contact and getting together for a leisurely lunch or a cuppa with a good friend today might put a smile on our face, especially if we avoid the handwringing and venting fears that life is circling the drain. These times demand a positive attitude even in the face of extreme challenge. Today and tomorrow allow us to turn off the narrative, step out of the perceived reality and just enjoy good times with a good friend[s].
Friday, August 13th – Putting Off Today What Can be Done – Sun, Pluto, Jupiter. Friday continues with the Libra Moon with the Moon today sextile the Sun, the Moon square Pluto, and the Moon trine Jupiter. The Moon exits Libra late in the day to enter Scorpio. We could refer to yesterday and today as ‘mental health’ days, days when it might be far better for us to take time for ourselves, enjoy ourselves and not get hassled by our responsibilities or any demands placed upon us. The summer season will soon be ending whether by our getting back in harness of our normal routine or by imposed curtailments from the powers-that-be, so why not take opportune times to use summer days to restore, refuel and recharge ourselves? Thursday and Friday of this week are two good day to participate in re-creational activities, fully engage our summertime enjoyment and NOT focus on what needs to get done. There is always tomorrow, the next day or next week to accomplish certain tasks. This is a day to give to ourselves. Some people may have an aversion to Friday the 13th with the various scary references and reinforcements, but hasn’t life been scary enough from the ‘newspeak’ stimuli that constantly bombards and harangues us? Enough already. It’s time to embrace the blessings of life and all the enjoyments we can engage — the kaleidoscope and smorgasbord of life’s tasty delights.
Saturday, August 14th – Another Time – Mercury, Mars, Lunar T-Square, Saturn, Uranus. Saturday and Sunday have the Scorpio Moon triggering two Fixed Sign T-Squares. On this Saturday the Scorpio Moon sextiles both Mercury and Mars both in Virgo. The Scorpio Moon hits off our year’s nemesis of the Saturn Uranus square with the Scorpio Moon triggering a Fixed Sign T-Square with the Moon square Saturn and the Moon opposed Uranus. Hopefully, we took Thursday and Friday as ‘fun’ days, days when we enjoyed ourselves and walked on the ‘sunny side of the street’, upbeat and happy. This Saturday and Sunday could prove difficult with various delays and unexpected developments. It would be wise for us to plan out our day and with a large eraser, allowing for unanticipated twists and turns that might demand contingency plans and altering our course as we go along. This is a day when we might want to heed the advice of Emily Dickinson when she wrote: “If you take care of the small things, the big things take care of themselves.” It would be far better for us to focus on the specifics and the particulars rather than trying to accomplish grand works today. Today could prove that less is more. Earlier in the week our focus might have been on the large, the huge, the panorama. Today is better served by attending to the little things with a recognition that things may take longer than we like and that we might encounter some curveballs of which we were not aware. Today and tomorrow are better served in cleaning up and clearing out the clutter but not exhausting ourselves in the process.
Sunday, August 15th – Still No Fun – Neptune, Pluto, Venus, Lunar T-Square, Sun, Jupiter. Sunday continues with the Scorpio Moon with the Moon today trine Neptune, the Moon sextile Pluto in Capricorn, and the Moon sextile Venus in Virgo. The Moon triggers another Fixed Sign T-Square like yesterday but with different players. Today the Scorpio Moon squares the Sun in Leo, and the Moon squares Jupiter in Aquarius. Although summer isn’t over, we might feel increasingly drawn back to our routine involvements. The cleanup and clear out that we might have started yesterday could continue on this Sunday. Even if we would prefer to engage good times with good friends, this day is more geared to doing things more around the home and with family. Although we are liable to feel that our wings are being clipped, let’s make the most of the day by straightening, tidying and enjoying our personal sanctuary. Late in the day the Moon exits Scorpio to enter Sagittarius. These weekend days with the Scorpio Moon allow us to do our inventory taking, figure out what we can get rid of, and provide space for new things to come our way. Let’s keep in mind that the universe abhors a vacuum and as we create space the universe might fill that space, even next week, with some exciting developments.
